"Unable to connect" error when printing on Photosmart 5510 despite the re-setup of printing and printer on the network... Uninstalled / reinstalled several times and always without success - advice?  Thank you

Got it working again... the culprit was firewall.  I certainly didn't change or any recent blockage so assume another user must have without my knowledge!

go in the menu Firewall: Firewall / settings / internet connections for programs: and look at all the programs have been blocked for bad reasons.

    If the problem persists, I suspect that if restart us the spooler, remove the driver and re - add the printer that we may be able to correct the problem. Follow the instructions below to perform these tasks.

    Restart the print spooler

    Hold down the Windows Logo key () on the keyboard and the 'R' to open the Run dialog box

    • Type services.msc and press enter
    • Locate the print spooler and double-click it to open the spooler properties
    • Make sure you that Startup type is set to automatic, if not please click the menu down and select automatic
    • Under Service status, please stop the server, wait a moment, and then click Start

    Remove the printer from the server to the printer properties

    1. open the folder "devices and printers".

    2. choose "print server properties.

    • Win XP - with no printer selected, click 'File' then 'server properties '.
    • Windows Vista - with no printer selected, press 'Alt' and then click 'file' then 'server properties '.
    • Windows 7/8 and 8.1 - Select any printer in the "Devices and printers" folder and click on "Print server properties" above.

    3. click on the "Drivers" tab at the top of the window "properties of the print server.

    4. choose the printer that you want to uninstall, and then click 'remove '.

    5. choose "Remove driver only.

    6. the next screen will give a warning, letting you know that the removal of the driver package will remove it from the system. Click 'Yes' to say are you sure you want to do.

    If you get an error "in use", restart the computer and the printer, and then follow the steps again.

    Re-add a printer

    Open start > all programs > HP folder > folder printer > HP Setup and the software if you do not see the program installation and software, but you see the printer icon, double-click the printer icon to start the installation and the software.

  • Photosmart 5510 "disabled" related "to the use of too much power.

    Printer worked fine. All of a sudden when I turn on the printer, I get an error message indicating that a device has been disabled because it used too much power to the computer via the USB port. I receive a message within printing itself was to say that the printer is offline or not connected, but it is connected properly as it always.

    I restarted the iMac (10.7.5), uninstalled/reinstalled the printer software, disconnected/reconnected the cables, tried other USB ports... done everything I can think of. The message I get on the "device" does not specify which device, but I get the error message whenever I push the button 'on' on the printer.

    I don't have a wireless so that is not involved. It seems that the printer is permanently "disabled" due to too draw on the Mac? Never heard of this and they need to fix it!

    When you try to setup assistant to reinstall the printer is not recognized, even though I know that it is properly connected and turned on.

    I understand that you use a Photosmart 5510 with an iMac and you get an error indicating that a USB device drew too much power of the computer, so it has been disabled. I will certainly do my best to help you solve this problem!

    What you have described, and what I could find online, it seems like it might be a problem with the USB cable. I would recommend that acquire you another cable to the printer and try this. I would recommend that once you say USB cable, disconnect whatever it is what USB connected to your iMac, it reboot and then proceed to connect all the devices back, leaving the printer until the last. With a new thread, you must run is no longer in this error.

    3. have you made changes on the computer before this problem?

    4. What is the error message or an exact error code?

    5. have you connected external devices other than the keyboard and mouse?

    The default analysis workflows configured to scan photo 6 x 4 in. make sure you change the scanning settings to not crop the area swept as follows:

    If you use Mac OS X 10.7 (Lion), make sure to install the critical update below, otherwise skip to the next step:

    Pictures.PD6 or Pictures.pd7.

    If you are looking for and rename this database to
    something like... OLDPictures.pd6... it forces
    Photo Gallery to create a new instance of the
    the database as soon as it is launched.

    If you decide to try this... know that you
    may lose a few inches and metadata... and your
    Photo gallery will need to be filled again.

    I am trying to extend standard iproc CheckoutDistsCO. I have to display the error message when the quantity entered is '0 '. So I wrote logical when you click on the apply"" button. I created an extension CheckoutDistsCOEx & written logic here... but I am able to see messages in the log file, but no error message on screen.

    After having many forums I place super.processFormRequest (pageContext, webBean); at the end. It start always error message.

    • Double-click this component (U3A) to open its Properties.

    • Select the value and click the replace button.

    • Make sure the LM324N is selected in the browser pane.

    • Visit the Model FAB/ID field and select the model of National Semiconductor National (it is a model of 5 pins, more precision).

    • Click OK, select the section.

    • Repeat this procedure for the section B, C and D.

    Run the simulation, this convergence error should disappear. I have attached your circuit with this change.

    After receiving our new HP all in one printer, we have found our network wireless networks list wireless during the printer set up. We are able to receive the networks of our neighbors, but not our network.

    We tried:

    • Using the WPS function on the router and the printer
    • Establishment of an open on our router wireless network
    • Connect to our wireless router using the setting on our laptop when the option during the installation of a PC.

    Any help on this subjest would be appreciated.

    I found the problem that was the printer not to see the SSID of the router.

    The wireless channel was on channel 12 for the frequency of 2.4 GHz. While I was looking around I found this Support Page for Nintedo. Point 6 is a mention about these channels with respect to the same problems I was experiencing with the printer.

    By changing our channel to channel number 3 number, we could see the wireless network.

    It's a bit weird because I thought that the printer has a full specification b/g/n but apparently not?

  • Photosmart 5510 B111a - Scan-to-computer error

    I have had my 5510 for about a year now and only recently realized that I can't scan to my computer.

    I don't know if it's because I've never set up initially when I install the printer.  When I want to scan something, I must go to the local server for the printer. When I select "Scan to Computer" / "Webscan" I am directed to another page and I have this message:

    "You can't use this feature because it has been disabled.

    To activate the Webscan, on the settings tab, click Security, click on administrator settings, select Enable for Webscan and then click on apply. »

    When I hit the tab settings, I immediately am "Authentication Required" window pop up with this message:

    "The server www.hp14d8e3. . local: 80 requires a user name and password.

    "The server said: admin." there is a box asking for a username and password, neither of which I know.

    I can never remember having set up an admin login or password when I installed the printer.  How do I get past this so I can scan documents to my computer?

  • Not able to scan from the printer to my computer control panel using the HP Photosmart 5510

    I recently bought the new HP Photosmart 5510 all in one - and I am not able to scan from my printer to my computer.

    I am however able to scan by launching the scan of the computer. I talked to HP customer earlier this evening and we ran printing + scan doctor and can't find any problems.

    I am running Windows 7-64 bit and that you have installed my wireless printer using the Installation CD supplied with the printer today.

    I could not finish troubleshooting with the technician that I talked to because I had to go to work. The person that I spoke with proposed possibly the full functionality of software downloaded from the hp.com site, which I'm happy to do, but I think that it is useless, because I have the CD of installation here. (The rep that I talked to was very nice, but I prefer not to have to uninstall and reinstall if it is not necessary)

    Because as I mentioned above, everything works perfectly and I am able to scan - but not directly from the printer itself.

    When I try to scan from my printer to my computer an error message appears on the control panel of the printer indicating that: there is no scan destination options of analysis chosen / no..

    However, I can't find anywhere with my HP software where I could add / make sure that the destinations were there. (As I could on my other printers. (IE. By the solution Center)

    This printer does not appear to be a solution center that I could find and the scanner installed with the CD icon doesn't give me any options regarding changing the settings of the parser

    I wonder:

    1. the Hp Photosmart 5510 does not have the capacity to scan from the printer control panel?

    2 OR the CD installation provided with my printer only has the base drivers as the agent of tech support suggested? Which means to scan from my printer I need to download drivers for your hp Web site?

    3. or is the problem because of something else entirely?

    3 uninstall the Photosmart 6510 in the list

    4 restart your computer

    5. download and install the latest version of Adobe flash player

    I have a photosmart 5510 printer I bought at the Japan. It came with a set of 178 cartridges.

    I moved to the Korea and bought a set of new cartridges HP 564 here because 178 cartridges are not available in Korea. In the box of cartridges it is said that the cartridges are adequate for the photosmart 5510.

    Below that there is a link 'Contact HP for support product' but if I click that I find myself on the sureSupply page and I have to choose my model and location. If I do that, I see a list of 564 cartridges I buy.

    Top of the page, there is a link "Contact HP" but this link (a javascript link) does nothing (in safari on OSX).

    How can I have my printer reset to work in Korea (with 564 cartridges)?

    @ JeroenKorea - if you bought the printer in an area and moved to a new area, you must call customer service to ask a "regionalization Reset." Avoid any accusation to this effect; It is covered under the warranty of the cartridge. You will need to have access to your computer and printer then on line with HP. You will also need to have a set of cartridges for the new region, once completed reset cartridges of region of origin no longer works.

    I'm trying to analyze something like I did it many times with my brother MFC7820N hung on my tablet. But recently, I replaced a 2nd router I had in my system that failed with a new Dynex switch.

    I have my internet modem and 2 computers connected to a Linksys wireless router. I have another ethernet cable connecting the router to a new switch. I have my 2 printers attached to the switch. One is a Brother HL-2700CN color laser and the other is a brother MFC7820N mutli-function. It use PaperPort to scan stuff on him, since provided on the CD with the device.

    So today I open PaperPort and click the Scan button and it appeared an error saying unable to communicate with the TWAIN device box.

    So I clicked on a doc shown in PaperPort that I had scanned a few weeks ago and I click right and select Print and printed to this MFC7820N.

    Then I come back to click on scanner again and yet again, it appears that box. So I watch and WIA-Brother MFC-7820N LAN is displayed in the Scanner marked drop-down list box. So I switched the power of the MFC and tried again and it still appeared that same box again.

    OUCH! I'm going nuts! You have any ideas?
