Photosmart 6520 unreadable display touch screen

Only, I opened my HP Photosmart e 6520 and could not be implemented because the touch screen has lines through it.  Is this normal and is there a solution for this?  I have bought this product from hp.com.

Hi there, if the screen has lines through it and you literally have just unboxed it you need to call HP Support you may be entitled to a replacement. There should be contact details of support in the box, but if you are having problems find a number answer me here with the country you are locate in and I'll try and you get a phone number.

  • Touch Screen chooses options on own HP Photosmart C4680

    My HP Photosmart C4680 has a touch screen, which will choose its own options when I turn on the printer.  It 'push buttons' to the different menus, but bottom line, it's gets stuck on a map memory, copy, or scan and then I can connect to my laptop to print because she's busy doing his own selection.  If I try to cancel or to sail with the touch screen it doesn't let me.  I unplugged from the wall and let rest overnight and this still happened. Sometime during the attempts to restart I did the same power kept flashing on and outside.

    TEMPORARY SOLUTION: delete touch screen at a screen, print from the computer. You will need to block the door sensor on the back of the touch screen, plug it back (2 wire ribbons) and delete again each time the printer is turned off or is spent in sleep mode. Better to have all the print jobs in queue upward, and pause, resume when ready. This works for the print mode, but does not allow for analysis.

    Now out of warranty HP Photosmart 7515. Its touch screen now displays only the HP logo. No applications.     Thanks for the update.  If the unit is not able to go to the home screen, it is often categorized as "will not respond.  However, if all steps have been performed, then the next step will be a substitute to restore the functionality of the front panel.  You know the status of the printer warranty?

  • Yellow vertical line displayed on the touch screen of new printer Photosmart 7510.

    I have a vertical yellow line on the touch screen of my new printer Photosmart 7510.  The yellow line is part of the screen (pixels).  Install my printer on my XP Windows last night.  This is a new printer, right out of the box.

    This problem can be solved, or should I get a replacement?

    1. from the home screen, tap the settings icon and then tap Tools.

    I just installed HP photosmart 6510 to iMac (OS X Lion).  When I try to scan using the Soft Touch screen Scan, it analyzes only in black & white.  I managed to scan in color when I use HP Scan 3 on the iMac.  How do you define the Scan App on the screen of the printer/scanner to scan in color?

    The workflow default scanning set up to scan documents in black and white. Be sure to change the settings for scanning to scan color documents:

    First of all make sure you install the critical update below:

    Now change the settings as follows:
    1 open the HP utility and select your device.
    2. based on Scan Settings open the "Scan to Computer".
    3. click on the tab scan tasks.
    4. Select the affected shortcut and click on change... (or double-click on the shortcut).
    5. in the section of scanning from an HP device, click the blue triangle to expand the menu.
    6. in the expanded menu now, open the drop-down next to the Mode
    7. now select the color option, and then click OK to save the changes. The next scanned using this workflow is displayed in color.

  • Touch screen cracked Photosmart 7510

    A slight crack appeared on the touch screen of our Photosmart 7510. It does not seem to influence what that except the copy, but we use it a lot so it is important. Does anyone have experience with this? We better try to get it fixed (I did not to HP again because we are not under warranty) or it would make as much sense to just buy a new.

    I do not think that the screen is cracked but the cover plastic. It's just a hairline from the lower right corner thanks to the black buttons and color on the copy parameter.

    You could call HP and get an estimate, assuming it's fixable.  Other that that, might want to buy a new.

    Thank you for visiting the Forums from the HP Support! I understand the touch screen on your HP Photosmart 7515 is completely black, you are able to print from the computer, but can not access the front control panel.

    I would like that perform you a Hard Reset on the PS 7515:

    1. disconnect all cables and cards of memory in the printer. Unplug the power cord, directly from the back of the printer when the printer is still on.

    2. unplug the other end of the power cord.

    3. If there is a power supply on the power cord, disconnect one end and reconnect it.

    4. at the end of 60 seconds, plug it directly into a wall outlet (not a surge protector or battery backup because they can cause the printer to lose over time basic functionality).

    5. connect the power cord to the back of the printer.

    6. the printer should automatically power back upward. If not, turn it on with the power button.

    7. try to make a photocopy (if your printer is a printer all in one) before you connect the cables from the printer.

    8. connect the other cables needed to the printer.

  • Photosmart 5512 will not scan to computer touch screen

    I have a new Windows 7 laptop and the only way I can scan is using the photosmart software on the PC.  I try to use the touch screen and even if my computer is recognized as being connected via USB, I get the following error:
    "Unsuccessful Scan.  An error occurred while parsing.  Please make sure that your computer is connected to the printer and try agan. »

    I downloaded the "doctor HP Print and Scan" and it doesn't find any errors.  I had the scanner connected to my previous laptop Windows 7 and it should scan via the touch screen.  I appreciate any help anyone can provide.

    Welcome to the HP Support forums.  I understand you want to learn how to view your number of pages without having to print a printer status report.

    The information can be accessed online using the integrated web printer (EWS) server.  Please follow the steps below:

    1) press the wireless icon on the front of the printer to find the ip address of the printer.

    (2) type the ip address of the printer in the address bar of your browser, this will bring up the SAP. I recommend that you bookmark this page for future use.  Then click on the tab "Tools".

    3) click 'Reports' on the left side menu

    (4) this example displays a screen of use with the total pages number in the upper part

    Hope that allows you to save on ink and paper.

    If a conference is reserved as booking of TMS, it is expected that the keys 'register' on the endpoints are disabled.

    For more information on how and why reservations from Outlook could be "downgraded" to booking, see page 59 and 60 of the TMSXE Deployment Guide.
