  Hi I just brought the Photosmart Plus and notice that there are 2 types of black for this printer and one slot on the black ink print head.  I always use the black Starter supplied with the printer.  So my question is if I want to print a photo, just the regular black out with photography black and switch it back when finished to print the photo? or I should finish the black Starter first then switch to photo black. TIA!

  I'm on Mac OSX using the Photosmart 6510 AIO printer 10.7.4. I had problems before printing (black ink would not introduce yourself, sensor said that there was still a lot) so I ordered new cartridges. I printed a report of quality and the color came out great but black came out uneven. Then I used the align parameter and it printed once more uneven black ink and the screen on the printer read "the alignment page failed. It's frustrating, because the printer was used only at the end of last semester and he has not worked since I set up for this semester. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you!

  The steps in this troubleshooting page can help solve the problem.  If it is printing black but spotted I expecially make sure I check the vents and run a cleaning cycle.  If the above does not resolve the issue, see the post here.

• HP psc photosmart 2410: align ink cartridges

  I replaced the cartridge three-color No. 57 and the display showed ' align the print cartridges - Press OK to print the Page align.

  I pressed 'OK' and a page was fueled and the printer made looks like fine print, 'impression' was displayed and then he stopped and the same "Align" message was displayed.  I went to this cycle several times and was never able to print an alignment page.  I can't get rid of the message and therefore I can't use other functions; scan, fax or copy.  I can always print pages of the computer, however.  Does anyone know how to reset or escape from this situation?  Help, please.  Thank you.

  I understand that you are having problems with your HP PSC 2410 Photosmart all-in-one printer for the replacement of the tri color cartridge. Please use the following document to solve the problem and I would like to know the results of your efforts; Error message: align the print cartridges, press OK to print Align Page.

• Alignment black ink Photosmart D5100 problem

  After putting in a new black cartridge HP, my printer started printing a light shadow black about 1.5 mm to the left of the color and black inks. It is quite clear and pronounced. If I print a thin single vertical line, the printer produces two remote lines about 1.5 mm. Text looks like there's a shadow. Colours are scrambled. Etc.

  I tried many things, including the removal and reinstallation of the black cartridge. I aligned the printer several times. Curiously, after a compliance implementation, the shadow moved to the right of the main part of the image and it remained there. I have reset the pilot factory and downloaded the full package of driver/support of HP.

  I've seen a few comments about this problem with other printers, but I couldn't find anything on the D5100 on this forum.

  I really need to print some documents of vacation, photos, CD booklets, etc., and the printer is now practically useless. I hope that someone knows something about this problem.

  The D5100 uses a black wagon 98, but it could still be dirty contacts.

  That happened since I posted is interesting, although I can't explain it. I wish you to know what has happened, however:

  1. install the new wagon 98 black

  2 example page: gray shadow 1. 5 mm to the left of all the regions containing any black.

  3. self-clean

  4. align

  5 example of page: no change

  6 align

  7. page example: no change

  8. about 15 various pages without printing color

  9 sample page: no change

  10 align

  11. page example: no change

  12 reset default settings

  13 align

  14 sample page: shadow is now on the right!

  15 clean

  16 line up

  17 sample page: shadow always on the right

  18. clean

  19. align

  20 sample page: OK!

  If perseverance pays, I guess. Why would he suddenly follows the alignment is a mystery to me, but maybe you were right on the dirty contact, and all these cycles of cleaning and alignment banged around enough to make a good connection.

  So I guess I'll call without dogs.

  I have a HP Photosmart 5514 installed cartridges and have gone through the Setup program on the printer option align, printed what it is does not also must be as half of ink on the paper is missing. After scanning, it says "alignment failed" you can continue but the cartridges are not calibrated for better print quality.» Press ok to continue. When I hit ok it's all how can I fix this?

• HP Photosmart 5514 no black ink printing

  I have problems with my printer photosmart 5514 not printing black ink and the printing of blank pages. I've tried every suggestion of simple troubleshooting and nothing has worked. I have cleaned the printhead to the printer about 5 times, tried to align everything (but the alignment page is not detected), none of my cartridges are empty, and I reinstalled the printer to make sure it wasn't a problem with the connection. I am trying to print word documents or gives me a blank page or a very slight color page and photos are coming very slowly and completely bleached.

  Please help, I don't know what else to try and my printer is out of warranty. I barely used it too so it becomes very frustrating. I would try to take the printhead manually to clean, but I can't go out with a screwdriver.

• Photosmart 7520: Use of ink

  FAST ink cartridges - printer printed only a total of 892 pages and went through 6 cartridges black (page 750) and two others.  I have never even printed a photo and it shows empty.   It's ridiculous!  Is anyone else having the same problem?

  You have to fully complete the alignment process?  If not, it will ask again.  Try to reset the printer to its factory default and try again.

• HP Photosmart Premium C309: blue ink will not print

  I replaced all 3 color cartridges, but also the black with the new HP cartridges but when I tried to print the Cyan (blue) does not print. I tried to print something green on this subject and it printed yellow. The computer recognizes that the new cartridge has been installed. I cleaned the print heads, but that did not help. I printed a page of diagnosis and cyan won't print, even if it does appear that the ink level is declining, although it is not printing.

  What operating system is on your computer?

  You are always able to print or it gives an error related to the ink?

• PhotoSmart 5512 no black ink printing

  Hi all.  I have a PhotoSmart 5512 who has recently stopped printing black ink.  Before we get into all that, here is some basic information:

  Primary computer: MacBook Pro OS 10.9.2

  Connection: On home WiFi network

  Recent changes: black ink cartridge changed (twice), no network changes

  I serve this 5512 without problems since we bought it in August 2012. Recently, it stopped printing black ink. I checked the levels and it seemed to be close to empty (by using the form on the printer and Mac methods of control levels). I replaced the black cartridge with a black cartridge HP 564XL black. Installation, I ran the "clean printer heads" several times, but still saw no black ink. All I get on the print are the various boxes of colors at the bottom of the page.

  Yet once, I replaced the black cartridge with a new black cartridge HP 564XL black.  Once again, to the installation, I ran the 'Clean Printer Heads' several times, but still not seen any black ink.

  I removed the cartridge and checked the filter between the cartridge and print head. He had a cool on black ink. This makes me think that the printer is properly pulling the cartridge ink and sending it to the head print correctly, but for some reason, this isn't making it by the head of the printer correctly.

  I followed the steps on this page (found in another similar post), although I have not yet submitted the printer for maintenance.

  Help, please. I am a teacher by class 1 and almost all print on cardstock color for my students.  Not having do not access to home printing has really took me by surprise.

  Can someone suggest and similar for the best as a replacement for my printer photosmart/premium.

  Also is there all of the printers that use individual inks as I believe that these new lights to be expensive cartridges.

  What Photosmart model did you have before? There are different printers IIC (individual ink cartridges) at the present time, all depends on what additional features you are looking for.

  Mainly interested in photo printing, or a mixture? Many of the new printers Officejet IIC are very good. Check out the Decisionator...

• Photosmart 5520: alignment went to pot

  After having unplugged and then plugged back, my photosmart 5520 is now completely out of alignment, when I go to print my labels Avery. I did the test print and recalibrated but it makes no difference - can anyone help?

  It wasn't the rollers, but a response prior to a similar problem led me to disable default "duplex printing" option and for some reason it fixed the problem and all my labels are now centered and looking fine.
