Plugin horizon View Agent direct connection + disconnection after disconnection

If I use the plug-in Horizon View Agent Direct-connection is there still a way to get the virtual machine for auto & with force logoff the current user after X minutes if the (in my case), lightweight client disconnects abruptly (off)?

It is probably a virtual machine that is not handled by a server view connection? You should create/change the following registry setting power (this would be automatically updated if you were using a CS):

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\VMware \VMware VDM\Node Manager\DisconnectLimitMinutes, Inc.

The value-1 means immediately, a value of 0 means never. Positive values are the number of minutes to wait after the disconnection occurs.

  • Horizon View Client does not work after upgrading to Chrome OS 45

Is there a known issue with Chrome OS version 45?

My client view Horizon worked without problems, but after upgrading to Chrome OS 45, the Horizon view app starts with a white screen which shows just the logo of the view of the Horizon in the middle. Nothing happens. I can't connect to a server or start a virtual machine, it is also not possible to do any configuration. I rebooted my Chromebook, uninstalled, and reinstalled the client Horizon view. Nothing helps...

  • Horizon view Agent 6.0.2 Windows 8.1 desktop - size setting display scale causes mouse which will be pasted in the top left corner

    Hello

I am having some problems when I try to adjust the size to the scale option in the Virtual Office Windows 8.1 with view agent 6.0.2. When I try to change the scale via Control Panel -> display -> option to change the size of all the items ( view failover control settings is disabled by VMware KB: Settings tab is not available in the display panel of a Horizon view desktop locally when t...). After that, the mouse pointer gets suddenly blocked until the upper-left corner, and I'm unable to move the mouse pointer on this corner that the mouse pointer continues new jump in him. When I change the scale to the original (use the keyboard to change the setting), the behavior of mouse pointer returns to normal.

    Anyone else having this problem?

Found the solution by adding a registry entry:

    Location: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Teradici\PCoIP\pcoip_admin_defaults

    Name: pcoip.disable_cursor_jumping

    Type: REG_DWORD

    Data: 1

After that it is defined on the parent image and recomposed (or reboot if you want to set this on a persistent desktop computer), there is no more mouse pointer jumps after changing the scale of the fonts/AC.

This was indeed listed in KB here — not exactly the problem listed in the KB, but it is quite similar:

  • Horizon plugin 6 direct connection + HTML access

    Hello

I just set up a display environment 6 horizon with a direct plugin successfully.

Now, I try to get the most out of this area and by this test to complete the html access.

I followed this guide:VMware KB: allowing HTML access with the plugin VMware Horizon view Agent Direct Connect 5.3 5.3 horizon that does not work.

Can someone guide me through the steps necessary to access html in horizon 6 with direct access plugin?

    Kind regards

    Herb

Setup to view 6 has a small difference with 5.x, you can try by following steps below:

    1. install View Agent

    2. install the plugin VADC

3 get web client package: VMware-Horizon-View-HTML-Access-x.y.z-000000.zip

4 install the IIS and configure the Web Client as steps d through KB

  • View internal, external direct connection in the tunnel?

Today we use XP virtual machines with view 4.0.1 only internal direct connect (need this to our Sun's rays). But now, we want to use our XP virtual machines to internal direct connect and externally by tunnel via the SSL protocol. What do we have to do for that?

My idea is to install a server security in the demilitarized zone and a new second login view without direct connect server, is the right way?

If so, we can allow the same VM XP for internal and external direct connection in tunnel?

That's how we have our configuration of the environment.  You can configure the type of connection to the server by going to the page view Admin, configuration, servers.

  • Direct connection VMAgent: black / activity of the Client - logs show authentication error - please help

If anyone has experience with this, I would appreciate the help.  I have tried everything I can find for three days, and it still does not.  I think I have a problem of local authentication on the Agent of the view.  The user is included in the Remote Desktop user group and the view group Agent direct connection to users.  There is no errors in the event logs, but there are errors in the logs VDM.  The suspect is the user 'WIN7B\user' unauthorized (non-local admin).  I can't find a solution to solve this error.  The firewall is disabled.

Symptoms: Horizon View Client makes the initial connection logon sound, black screen, time-out.  User is logged on to the remote computer after failure of connection of Horizon view, then part of the logon process ends.

The full debug log file is attached.

It certainly works in other environments, so it must be something to do with your specific configuration.

I know that in the beginning, it has not been enough video RAM configured and certainly causes a PCoIP black screen.

    2015-12 - 10T 14: 29:07.819 - 06:00 INFO (1074-041 C) [wsnm_xmlapi] video driver name = VMware SVGA 3D

    2015-12 - 10T 14: 29:07.819 - 06:00 INFO (1074-041 C) [wsnm_xmlapi] video = 8 MB RAM

It seems that this problem has been corrected, because later we see:

    2015-12 - 10T 14: 56:55.626 - 06:00 INFO (04DC - 09C 4) [wsnm_xmlapi] video = 128 MB RAM

I also see that the modified host name:

    2015-12 - 10T 15: 03:27.050 - 06:00 WARN (04 B 0-0858) [wsnm_xmlapi] default SSL server certificate is not for this host name. The name may have changed.

VADC itself automatically corrects the server SSL certificate, but maybe it's the other parts of the Agent posed problems that we see:

    2015-12 - 11T 09: 16:15.351 - 06:00 WARN (04EC-0CB4) authentication ticket error [MessageFrameWork]

    2015-12 - 11T 09: 16:15.351 - 06:00 WARN (04EC-0CB4) [MessageFrameWork] unable to accept the connection, authentication failed

This does not refer to the authentication of the user customer Horizon (which is successful). This authentication is internal within the messaging system.

Given previous problems with this Setup, I can only suggest you uninstall VADC and Agent, restart, and then reinstall the Agent and the VADC. Don't change video RAM or change the name of host/computer name.

Let us know if that fixes it.

  • MMR does not not on a direct connection VDI

    Hello

According to the view release notes 6.0.2 ROR Horizon is supported on VADC (Agent direct connection), but so far I was not able to make it work. Strange thing is that when I connect to one of these workstations via the broker, ROR works. I use a VDI in Win 7 x 64 with the latest VMware Agents installed. Also, servers connection view and view composer have installed the latest versions and the client has the latest version of the Client view installed. There is no firewall rule that block traffic MMR no more, because for testing purposes, I've disabled the firewall on server side, client-side AND the VDI side. Anyone any idea what I am doing wrong?

    Thank you

    Chris

Did you apply the group policy setting to enable it? Unlike the full connection agent, there is no UI admin to set this policy at the time of the connection, so it must be configured by GPOS. From view_agent_direct_connection.adm:

    Multimedia redirection (MMR) activated

Determines if the MMR is enabled for client systems. ROR is a Microsoft's DirectShow filter that transfers multimedia codecs-specific data on view offices directly via a TCP socket to the client system. The data are then decoded directly on the client system, where it is played. The default value is disabled.

MMR does not work correctly if the client system's video display hardware is not supported for recovery. Client systems may have insufficient resources to deal with a local multimedia decoding.

  • Direct connection to the view Agent Linux?

Is there an implementation linux plugin for direct connection from the view of the PicoIP client (I use VMware View on Mac) on a Linux desktop?

I just wanted to put in place a set of virtual machines Linux to be accessible by customers to view, Mac. Also intend to do not use a view connection server. I installed a virtual machine to test with Ubuntu top end and configure the Agent as well.

Direct connection is not supported. You must configure a login server in your environment.

  • Replace/upgrade my router after purchase/adding a 'Smart' to my network TV and now have a noise to connect/disconnect running in background.

Original title: connect/disconnect sounds in the background

I had to replace/upgrade to update my wifi router after purchase/adding a 'Smart' to my network TV and now have a noise to connect/disconnect running in the background, on something, every few minutes.  It does not affect the operation of my computer, but it is very annoying. Cut the old router market and connect and disconnect before replacement, but did not any noise so I don't think it is related to that.  I can't find any evidence of the old router on the computer anyway.  I hope you can help me!

    Hi Danielle65,

You can try the following steps and check if it helps.

    Method 1:

You can also perform a clean boot and check if it helps.

A clean boot to check if startup item or services to third-party application is causing this issue.

You can read the following article to put the computer in a clean boot:

How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or in Windows 7

Note: Make sure that you put the computer to a Normal startup once you are finished.

    Method 2:

You can also check in Event Viewer about what is causing the problem. Alternatively, you can publish the results, so that we can help you solve the problem.

    Open event viewer

What are the information contained in the logs of the event (Event Viewer)

  • The upgrade of VMware View Agent from 5.2 to 5.3 causes agent become inaccessible in Horizon administrator.

Short throughout, I was unable to update several agents to 5.3, because the 5.2 msi could not be found.

I followed the instructions on this page (KB VMware: UpgradingVMware View Agent and View Composer fails with the error: the component that you are trying to use is o...) and installed the agent 5.3

It worked on the test systems 3. When I went to live 2 principles broke. I can RDP but you cannot use the Client to connect and get a response that says that the resource is not available.

I looked into the Horizon view Admin and they are listed as inaccessible agent, matching State pairings.

    I did the following.

    Uninstalled agent 5.3.

    Uninstalled the tools.

    Reinstalled them both.

The removed from the inventory of the pool and added them.

    This is Win7 systems.

Any help would be much appreciated.

    Fred

I could solve this problem by removing the pool, then adding back and then restarting the agent service. It sometimes took two reboots, but that's fine.

  • Horizon view auto connect to a pool

Hello. I'm under view 5.3.2. I have users who have many pools (higher education). The evaluation criteria are physical work stations with an installed display client. Anyway is that when a user who is in the room and starts the client to view the physical office, (after their passage of authentication) will automatically be connected to a pool for this specific room. (e.g. room = Pool A).

Remember that, by design, all students are entitled to all the pools. I can not change this requirement. With earlier versions of the client view I could have passed the customer settings. Can't do more with customer view 5.3.2. It seems that perhaps this can be accomplished through view GPO settings?

    Thank you

Here is a link to the new customer documentation PDF.  Inside, it details the same switches...

    https://www.VMware.com/PDF/horizon-view/horizon-client-Windows-document.PDF

All you need to do is change the properties of the shortcut and add the switch at the end of the target.  If your target should look like this...

    "C:\Program VMware Horizon view Client\vmware - view.exe"-desktopName "Nom_du_pool goes here.

The quotes around the name of pool are required if there are spaces in the name of your pool.

    Add other switches if necessary.
