• "Right answer" for questions?

  I'm new on connect and was just looking at some of the functions of reports available. I went to the party 'Issues' from the reports tab for a demo session I ran last week and see all survey questions that I had run listed. When I click on "view answer Distribution...". "for a survey question to type multiple choice under 'User responses', where it breaks down every choice and the number of people who chose that answer, there is also a column that says"Right answer"and all the choices have a red X (see screenshot below). I went back into my meeting and examined the survey questions to see if somewhere, I had missed the definition of a "correct" answer option but see nothing. Obviously for a lot of times a survey may not question "correct" answer, but in this case I had actually setup the survey questions to operate as a regular multiple-choice question, there was actually a real good answer.

  Can someone explain to me why this "Right answer" column appears, and what it's for? Or how I might be able to use?

  Survey in the Connect room questions are considered the survey questions, which means that there is no right answer. So this is how it is reported on the back-end, as you can see.

  If you want a correct answer to follow, then you will need to use presenter or Captivate to create quiz questions with correct answers. So when you talk about a presentation with a quiz on one of these tools, you will see a break of correct and incorrect responses.

• How to remove unwanted plugins (and no I don't want to read all the articles unrelated who never answer your question)?

  I want to erase the unwanted plugins in Fire Fox. A plugin has even a warning about its use does not (Java Deployment Toolkit). But every time I ask 'how to remove a plugin?', I get redirected to an article that does not answer the question. And then the cycle starts again without ever actually answer the question.

  Hello 4646tm, I understand your frustration. Here's how to remove a plugin:
  Click the menu and then click on Add ons, which looks like a piece of a puzzle.

      Type about:plugins into the Location bar and press Enter to display the About Plugins page.
     Each entry in the About Plugins page will have "File:" and "Path:", showing the name and location of the plugin file. Use Windows Explorer to navigate to the folder shown for the plugin you want to remove.
     Rename the file to add an X in front of the filename (for instance, npswf32 becomes Xnpswf32).
  

  You said that you do not want links, but I'll give you a couple just in case you do not want to uninstall the plugins manually. These links are to pages that tell you how to run the uninstall it please do not hesitate to tell me if you think that they are not useful.

• Tracking number of attempts to correctly answer a question of MC

  I have a number of MC and T/F questions where I need to track the number of attempts it takes for a user to answer the question correctly. The T/F is easy because I am only allowing 1 attempt, so I can check to a pass/fail. However, the questions of MC allow 2 attempts. If a user he responds correctly, I need to know if it was the 1st or 2nd time and it seem not to be a way to track it (not that I can find).

  I created 2 user variables for each question, the answer choice 1 and 1 for the tests, but he doesn't seem to be a way to fill until attempts maximum has been reached that defeated the whole purpose.

  There must be a way to fill a meter of attempts until the maximum has been reached. Of course, Captivate is followed that somewhere, but I can't find a system variable that seems to fit.

  I am tracking also attempts to quiz and need to aggregate the question through the quiz attempts total attempts, but let's first. I'll be happy to get information of attempts to question once at this stage.

  I use 8 Captivate.

  I am aware of the events that I have to use the quiz questions, I just regret the fact that, while in captivity titles nicely your attempts to answer for you so that you can add different success and failure of the options, there is no easy way to retrieve this info.

  I figured out how to track attempts to question without having to change the number of attempts on the issues of choice of MC, so I kept the 2 attempts. I had to create a lot of variables and some cases rather complex statements multiple decisions for success and failure to do so, however.

  Now 'all' I have to do is double what effort each quiz attempt, which will not be very easy because I am already bypassing the default of Captivate built to go to the 1st question quiz on the recovery and I have many other customization on some slides that must be taken into account with subsequent attempts to quiz. Once I got that all together, I'll be happy to share, even if it will take a lot of screenshots!

  I suggest the 'best' way to do may not be via AppleScript itself.

  AppleScript can do, but his text, the analysis is heavy, while the shell commands handle this with ease (although they are not as easy to read).

  You can have fields flowing / more dynamic in a PDF of LiveCycle Designer form, but not in an AcroForm (only created in Acrobat).  LiveCycle Designer is a program completely separated used for are delivered with each purchase Acrobat Acrobat XI has been release.  Now you must buy separately.  But LiveCycle Designer PDF forms are wrapped in a shell of PDF so that they will be displayed and can be filled in the free Acrobat Reader DC and earlier versions.

  If you do this in Acrobat with an AcroForm, you have as much information typed into a field that the user wants, but he's going to show everything on the screen.  Displays only the text that fits into the field, then a + sign will appear in the field to indicate that there is more text in this field, you can scroll down to read.  You can also set the automatic font size so that as more text is entered in the police becoming smaller and smaller to adjust the text, but that is usually not desirable for many forms.

• How to make a slide to wait until the user has answered a question correctly, even after activation of a smartshape?

  Background:

  I created a questionnaire in which the user must answer each question correctly before to proceed to the next slide. That's what I did:

  
  

  • Set preferences Settings > required > respond to everything - the user must answer each question to continue
  • Set the number of attempts at the level of the question to infinity
  • Made the Next invisible button and disabled the PlayBar

  In this way, the user can proceed to the next slide in the issue with the submission process - and, since attempts are endless, this means that after having answered the question correctly.

  Current objective:

  I want the user to be able to click on a prompt for a hint. To configure this, I did the following:

  • Created a smartshape titled 'click_for_hint' to display the text that says: "click here for a tip.
  • Created a smartshape labelled 'hint' text display
  • Show "hint" success value "click_for_hint".

  Now, when the user clicks on the text that says: "Click here for a hint," the suspicion appears. So it works - great! However, once the indicator is activated, I would like to for the user to continue endless attempts until respondent correctly to the question... and then only after answering correctly, proceed to the next slide.

  The problem:

  If the user has submitted one or more wrong answers, and then activates the indicator, the slide just waiting until the user has answered the question correctly. Instead, it will be set in playing, proceeding to the next slide. I tried the smartshape 'hint' to take a break on the success of adjustment, but it does not work.

  Is there a way to make the slide to wait until the answer to the question correctly before moving on to the next slide, even after the indicator has been activated?

  Are you aware that your required parameter can cause problems, the blocking of the user? It is also completely useless because you have unlimited attempts at the level of the issue and hid the next button (hope, you don't need review, otherwise, I would recommend not to hide this button but slide it under the Clear key: the Question slides in Captivate - Captivate blog)

• 3 of the 6 slides quiz show "you have not answered this question completely" in the first entry of slide

  I'm working on a project in Captivate 5. I have distributed 6 slides of question about the whole project. Q1 - 3 are working very well, at the entrance to the Q4 - 6 slide, the learner receives the message "you have not answered this question completely" even if it's the first time, they enter the page. They get stuck, just have a 'return' to them button returns to the previous page, in the output of the previous page, they receive the same message again. No retry option. The only way forward is to use the button next to the playback bar.

  The parameters of my 6 questions are the same (classified, 3 attempts, continue on the success and the last attempt).

  I figured it was because I had duplicated the question slides in order not to have to do all the formatting again (would be curious to know: I can do it without problem?) - but it seems that this was not the reason. I created 2 of 3 does not q from scratch and still have the same question.

  Then, I thought it's because by clicking on an icon on the previous page, they can move to page Q without listening to the entire slide - that solved the problem in preview, but after publication it came again.

  I'm totally lost here - would appreciate help from experts!

  This "you have not answered this question" message normally appears only once the user has tried the test at least once and review Quiz button has been clicked on the Quiz results page.

  However, it may also appear if Captivate think user jumped out of the reach of quiz, then jumped into the new.  At that time, Captivate blocks all questions and show this message for any question unanswered.

  So there must be something on your project, you have not told us until now.  Where's the Quiz results for this project page?  AFTER all the questions quiz is 6 located?  Is your project using maybe ramification that could Captivate think that you skipped range outdoor quiz?

I've never worked in earlier versions. I'm fast and a lot about the apprenticeship program, but still struggling with some points. One of them I post here:

  I have a few question slides (all kinds). Some of the slide contains an audiofile which students have to listen before answering the questions. I don't want to click immediately students response (listen to the entire audio). When I tried it myself that I can easily fill some answer, press the submit button and go to the other, without listening to the audio. How can I avoid this? Perhaps by adding an advanced action? Is it is for example possible to say the response to buttons "wait for the audio ends" or something? However I have no experience in the script . I hope someone can help...

• Why not the customer answer my questions

  I sent support of services and the client twice today.  The first time last Thursday, but no response despite their promise of a response within hours.

  My organization will not open port 80, so I need to know where Captivate 4 reviews before loading when on the network.  If Captivate 4 is not on a network by default to download from the internet at the beginning upward.  However if you are on a network there a good 5 min delay why Captivate 4 trying to access a site through port 80.  I asked a technical support and service to the customer but no response.  When I know where Captivate tries to go to that my business will allow me to filter on port 80.

  Have you tried to ask your IT people perhaps judicial investigations? I think that if Captivate attempts to communicate on port 80 that is sort of "calling home" to an Adobe web address any.

• 'Every choice' option return of unintended outcomes

  Hello, I am trying to add a prompt to a page that contains an option of all the choices. I still want to exclude certain values of this report - in the two options in the menu drop down and the results of all the choices. I have my guest to configure as follows...
  
  Operator - is equivalent to / in
  Control - combo
  Show - sql, select 'table'.column 'db' where 'the table'.column ('value1', 'value2', 'value3', etc.)
  Every choice is checked
  Default - default report
  Set the Variable - no
  
  In the report, I had tried my column with "is"bring"filtering, however I have read that if I want all the choices to only return value1 and value3 value4 not, I need to filter my column with is equivalent to / is in list value1 to value3. When the page loads, value1 to value3 is displayed by default, however when you click on the option want Alll in the command prompt, value1 to value4 is returned.
  
  Any suggestions on how to proceed in the responses, without creating a new view in the db which excludes value4?

  a 2 filters on the report:
  column filter) 1 val1, 2, 3... then protect this filter (by selecting protect the filter in the filter menu)

  Filter column 2) is invited. do not protect it.
