political firmware - to use or not to use?
I believe that a policy of the firmware is needed for automatic installation of a set of software for servers, is that correct?
What a manual install of the beam of the firmware for the server - if a server has a policy of firmware, but it shout the older firmware, what I:
(1) create a new policy to be applied to the service profile, that points to the new firmware? or,
updated 2) the current policy with the new firmware, or
(3) can I just ignore policy and enforce a manual of the new firmware?
I believe that a policy of the firmware is needed for automatic installation of a set of software for servers, is that correct? If you have installed the system automatically will update the host firmware strategy by default and that policy to update the firmware of the blades.

If you have an existing policy of firmware host you can just upgrade to the version that you need, but note that as soon as you make the changes he would apply it to servers and servers will try to restart to complete the update of the firmware.
If you want to do a manual update, then you need to remove the host firmware package before upgrade you the servers because it won't let you not overwrite policy if service profiles are using this policy.
Let me know if you have any other questions.

When I tried to upgrade the firmware on my WRT54G V2 to recommended 4.21.1, the process is complete, but when the screen came back to the top of the GUI was garbage. Only the first screen is partially and does not work. Unable to get the tabs Admin/Firmware Upgrade to fix. Is it possible to install the firmware without using the GUI
To all those who responded... Worked like a charm. I'm back in business. Although I had to reset the router again after the installation of the firmware in the GUI Setup. Thank you for your help. Hope that others who have similar problems to find this thread.

Update of the firmware/BIOS using OME and iDRAC
Small question. If I update BIOS and firmware (for example, NIC) OME aid via the iDRAC, is whatever it is must be done on the server first? I have several new ESXi R720s that I need to update. They do not run virtual machines (they were not configured/implementation yet), but they are turned on and are the basic login screen with ESXi. My understanding is that the iDRAC will do everything in the background and then just restart the server once it's over, so the only downtime is when restarting. Is this correct?
If the situation changes and servers have put VMs in place, something needs to be done before I run the OME system updates? IDRAC is all discovered using WS - Man.
Thank you.
Hello
Yes, your interpretation is correct. You don't need to do anything on the server. But make sure that the required ports are open between OME and iDRAC when you perform the update system via iDRAC.

Firmware.42 uses less resources que.62 fimware?
Hi, I have a Neo V coming with GB (. 62), behind with ICS and now lowered with GB (.62). Well now, I see that the battery life is less in the UK than before the upgrade to ICS. And that is reason why I ask this question because I do not have eu.42 when I bought my Neo V.
.62 is better que.42

Broken BIOS Firmware - ThinkStation P900 - can not wake mode 'sleep'
In November 2014, I bought one of the first P900s to be filled - a machine from 30 to 5. As others have already said on the forum, the startup time is very very long.
Out of the box, the machine worked without any problems. In early December, I noticed that a new firmware BIOS has been updated with the provision that promised an update on boot time, but also a fix for a problem of reactivation of S3 (which at the time I didn't!).
After I successfully flashed the BIOS with the new version using the OS I was no longer able to wake the computer from S3 sleep. I tried all combinations of configuration of the BIOS pertaining to fashion 'sleep' - nothing has worked.
Mid-December an another BIOS update was published on the support Web site. I loved that one too - the problem has persisted.
On Jan 6, yet an other BIOS was released (a6jy62usa.exe) - you may have guessed, it does not solve the problem from early December wake BIOS version or the other. This update of the BIOS Jan 2015 seems to have been taken down--I can't find online. Is there a bug in this version?
Whatever it is, the first update of BIOS that I asked my machine broke the suspend feature. Lenovo, please fix this!
I have a video card ASUS STRIX GTX970, a Samsung 850 Pro SSDS as primary disk, two hard drives 2.5 "in the RAID and the 1 TB 3.5" drive provided with the machine. The rest is intact - no additional cards, etc.
I just flashed BIOS v.64A and my S3 summary the problem is resolved.
Looking at the release notes, I see that this was actually discussed in v.63A.
Somehow, I missed the short period during which this version was online. Just saw today v.64A.
I have the HARD drive set up passwords, so I guess that's really the question even being discussed in v.63A. For those who followed and the fixed - thank you! I can finally have a machine available quickly without needing a waste of energy.
A small digression - after I flashed the firmware (using the flash with the BONE tool) and the computer restarted, I got an "Installer data integrity check failed". Enter the loaded BIOS defaults, so this meant a bit of extra work to get the Setup to where I got it. The only scary part was that the SATA controller was also indented on AHCI instead of RAID. Fortunately, the RAID parameters themselves on the Intel RST controller were intact and my paintings have they not suffered.
I'm marking this post as the solution to the problem of reactivation of S3. I hope that future updates won't break it again.

Cisco 876: political phase 2 SA is not acceptable!
Hello!
I want to configure a Cisco VPN Client vpn tunnel in the internet on a fritzbox to Cisco 876 (Version 15.1 (4) M3) so that the vpn tunnel is connected to the Cisco 876.
For this reason I used the command "map mymap crypto" fastethernet int 1. When I try to connect, the VPN Client opens the user name and password but then stops with the message "not connected". When I "debug crypto isakmp" Cisco 876 displays the message:
"phase 2 policy is not acceptable."
Here is the output of "show run":

Political field of OAM is not recognized
I OAM 10.1.4.3 and trying to put up my 1st application.
I created host ID, say myhost pointing a.b.c.com and 1.2.3.4. I have created a new domain, mydomain and created a resource: type = http, host ID = myhost, prefix to URL = / MyApp. I also configured default authentication rule in this area - to use authentication. regime.
When I try just the 'tester of access', I get:
Access Tester
Access information
URL http://a.b.c.com:7003/myapp/home.jsp
Operation of resources GET
IP address all
Access anytime
Result of the evaluation
< Not found > politics
Can someone explain what I am doing wrong?
Thank you
-AlexHello
It could be a mismatch of host identifier - for http://a.b.c.com:7003/myapp/home.jsp to protect then the myhost table must contain a.b.c.com:7003 (not plain a.b.c.com)
Kind regards

Example: Pavilion G4 1303 AU: RAM not fully use
My g4 pavilion have 2 GB of RAM. but when I install windows 7 (64-bit) RAM say is 1.48 GB usable... why?
Can I use the memory full well, I have a lot of processes running, and I've never disabled anything using msconfig.
The available memory is NOT used by Windows, it is used by the material itself.
Disabling the programs with msconfig will NOT solve this problem. An update of the BIOS can.
Please take a look at THIS page for more details.
Citing a moderator of toms hardware:
When the computer is turned on, the system (BIOS/UEFI) firmware Initializes the memory and peripherals. Part of this process is to create a relationship between the method of access to the memory (physical address space) and the memory itself.
The firmware may reserve some of the memory itself for the use of material. The biggest offender here is typically a PGI, if they are present.
Memory is also reserved for the management engine of the platform, which is a component of the chipset which control the features of the platform independent of the main operating system. Management engine is a small embedded microprocessor (not x 86 based) with its own operating system which shares the physical address with the CPU space.
The firmware also allocates memory (not memory itself) addresses for PCI and PCIe devices. For compatibility reasons, this area of memory is aligned on the top of the lower 4Gio of the physical address space. Physical memory that would take care of this region is moved; to make this accessible memory, most motherboards it remap to a location in the address space.
In total, on 20MiB of 60MiB memory is made inaccessible to the operating system. Operating system can tell that this is looking at the DIMM SPD and the tables of firmware, but this operating system is not allowed to access or manage the memory of these regions.
in your case, more than 500 MB is not available. It is most likely a problem of design with the AMD IGP, and you can probably do nothing about it. 1.48 GB is not really enough for a smooth Windows 7 experience. I recommend spending at least 4 GB.

How do I know which firmware I should use? Annex A or Annex B?
Hello everyone
as I said on the subject... How can I identify my dsl if modem by using the annex a firmware or B one?
read on the forum, but can not get accurate information...
the only things I've had are
Appendix A: ADSL
Appendix B: ISDN
that mean what firmware I use is depends on what connection to use?
Thanks in advance!
The Firmware used (Annex A or Annex B) is mentioned on the unit itself, you can also check if it is mentioned on the CD...
You're rigtht Annex A is used for the ADSL connection and Appendix B is used for the ISDN connection... It also depends on your country...
