Port of the switch for LAP

Hello

I have a potentially ridiculous question.

I work with a WLC 5508.

He'll be there 2 separate WLAN on their own VIRTUAL local area network.

The WLC connects to the Southwest over a trunk link, which seems logical.

However, ym question lies in the connection with the TOWER to the switch... should be a trunk as well?  If each SSID is on a VLAN respective, then TURN to pass wouldn't be a trunk as well?  Example: I have my tricks on vlan 9 (192.168.9.0/24) and I want my personal WLAN on VLAN 6 (192.168.6.0/24) and I want that my guest WLAN on vVLAN 8 (can you guess the IP address?)

I read that the link between the KNEES and the SW needs to be an access port (so it would ' Switchport access vlan 9 "on the port which connects the LAP... but how would the traffic / VLAN 6 and 8, considered then?)

FYI - DHCP for all devices (APs and hosts for each WLAN) is going to be the closest crossing the WLC, the DHCP for the APs will opt 43 defined pool so that APs can find the WLC...

I'm getting confused about how the traffic is separated, can someone enlighten me?

I still have to set up the JUMP with IAS and other, buit I must get DHCP and WLC communications up to b4, I even worry about security...

However, ym question lies in the connection to the LAP to the switch...does that need to be a trunk as well?

No. an access port.

Name your routegroups in Switch Executive to match your shooting numbers.

    "SigGenToUUT" + Str (RunState.TestSocket.MyIndex)

And have a road connecting the signal generator to the UUT named SigGenToUUT0.  It would be for USE in socket 0.

  • How to configure the switch for JMS bridge

    Hello

I tried with the selector option when working with several bridges, here is the scenario that I applied.

    Created five queues ( Q1, Q2, Q3, Q4, and Q5 ) and configured JMS bridge Destinations with each queue with the factory of unique connections ( CF1, CF2, CF3, CF4, and CF5 ) and baptized as D1, D2, D3, D4 and D5.
Then created JMS JB2 bridges with D1 source and destination as D2. Similarly the JB3 as D1-D3, as D1-D4 JB4 and JB5 as D1-D5.
And sector for each of the JB2 JB3 and JB4 JB5 as two, three, four and five respectively and reboot after the changes.

Now I expect the following scenario to work
By pushing the message to Q1/CF1 with two in the content of the message, so wait for the message to be delivered to Q2/CF2 through JB2, but messages is not moved by JB2.
Similarly, message pushed to Q1/CF1 having three in the content of the message, so waiting for the message to be delivered to Q3/CF3 by JB3, but messages is not moved through JB3. Similar behavior for other messages with four and five in the content of the message.

In the bridge configuration, selected QOS as "Atmost" - once.

Note: all configurations were conducted in the same field and the WL version is 10.3.6.0 *

The example message I am pushing to Q1/CF1 say 'two Test Data'* and expect to reach the queue Q2/CF2

JMS selectors work normally om jms headers and not on the message.

In my previous post, I see that WebLogic provides an extension "SELECTOR xpath" in this area, although I recommend using standard selectors when possible. See my previous post for more information on the syntax of the selector, etc.. The best resource on selectors is the javadoc for javax.jms.Message (http://docs.oracle.com/javaee/5/api/javax/jms/Message.html).

no need to adjust anything in bb-hosts. If you have added setings in bb-hosts, delete them. Also remove associated in bbvar/logs log files. (otherwise, you'll have purple when you delete the SNMP, trap tags bb-hosts)

  • Best wireless network installation with the switch TP-Link

    Hi all

Few question numpty maybe, but what follows... We just moved to a new (larger) home with thick walls and I want to set up a new wireless network.

    The current installation is:

Fiber cable entering the House in the basement and connected the modem to the service provider that provides 150 mb internet. I changed the capacity wireless on the ISP's modem and connecting an airport extreme (2014 model) via the LAN to the modem. The extreme is in the office but on the 3rd floor is having connection problems than you can imagine. All rooms have access points CAT5e who all meet in the basement. I have two spare Aiport express and two Apple TV that I would use. Also I bought a TP-LINK 1000mbps (16 channels) Network Switch.

Could someone please tell how the best set-up of my home network. For example, the Airport Express to the 3rd floor connected to the switch (wired) network or to an extreme in the Office? Apple TV also connected to the network switch?

I would like to end up with a solid wireless network that passes without problem from extreme to Express necessary each time you walk and you want to use an Apple TV for television on the ground floor and one in our room.

Many thanks and apologies once more for this very basic question... I have expanded my front (extreme Express) wireless network but just don't know how best to use the switch.

    Thank you

The simplest up set... which is almost always the best game in place... would be to connect the switch 16 ports to the modem/router and then connect devices to the switch. In other words, if your modem/router has 16 + Ethernet ports, the simplest network configuration would be to plug as many devices as possible directly to the modem/router.

Other variants are possible, for example, the network might look like this:

Internet > Modem/Router > AirPort Extreme > switch > devices... or, you can connect certain devices to ports Ethernet on the AirPort Extreme and some to the ports on the switch.  One thing to keep in mind however... If there is a problem... Troubleshooting may not be easy since it will be difficult to know where the problem actually lies.  Much easier to all have, or of possible devices, connect to the switch.

Unfortunately, the AirPort Express devices will be of real bottlenecks on your network.  These devices are notoriously slow as well as wireless, and even if they work well, the speed will be does not exceed 100 Mbps... since it's the speed of the port to the AirPort Express.  In fact, I expect each Express to provide a wireless signal in the range of 50-60 Mbps.

Another thing to keep in mind of the wireless network is that Macs will usually a good work of tilting automatically to the point of wireless to the other as moving from one place to the other in the House... but the iPhones, iPads, PCs, and other mobile devices will do that very well... If they do at all.

So with these devices, you will need to get used to temporarily disable the WiFi on the device and the device when you move in one region to the other, and then turn WiFi on must generally then pick up the signal from a nearby wireless access point.

  • Modding administered a LGS326 - to THE switch to run from 12V DC supply.

    Hi all

(Type this message again as the 'Preview' button has lost the original on me. Silly me thought 'Preview' meant "Show me what the message looks like" not "delete the message and show me a preview pane empty instead. My bad.  Edit: It would be because Linksys decided to spray on 50 domains JavaScript so NoScript says no.  What is wrong to put the JavaScript code on community.linksys.com with HTML code)?

I'm implementing a cluster of virtual machines as an exercise in self-education. As an additional technical challenge, I design the system to run with 240V solar power backup. So ideally the whole system will have to run from 12V, coming from a battery of 100Ah. I'll expand on that later.

Now, I did research the area and apart from some industrial switches which were mostly 100 Mbps and very expensive, there is almost no manageable offered 24 gigabit ports + held of the 12V. There is a possible market for Linksys. I don't need industrial design temperatures.

After some research, I found myself buy a LGS326-UA, which runs the industry normally. It's 90% of what I'm after. 4 gal can do but I can work around that, it has sufficient capacity of VLAN for what I want.

Out of curiosity, I cracked open box to see if it was possible to modify it to run from 12V. That's what I found: https://hackaday.io/project/10529/log/34622-modding-the-switch-for-12v-operation

So the switch supports internally, 240V to 12V, then probably goes down after 3.3V / 5V. So certainly doable - warranty is not my concern here.

I have a few regulators IDO (Micrel 29750) coming that should handle this. I probed around with a multimeter and can identify it seems to be a split of power supply 12 v on two pairs of drivers with non-standard color coding, so I'll have to move carefully, some tough filtering (a Bank of low ESR electrolytic) should do.

Did anyone here tried a similar amendment before? All boards/traps to watch out for?

(Edit to correct the really bad formatting.  Once more, in this world of vulnerabilities XSS, really should we spread the code 50 ways to Sunday?)

Well, I did it.  For those who were wondering what the answer is, it should be a good starting point.  Essentially, the green/yellow wires are wires are the 0V and Red/Black + 12V.  They are parallel connections together, filled on both sides.  If you're unsure, you can check by returning the motherboard to the wire and looking for one of the pins on the electrolytic capacitors; the negative sides are marked, and you should find that there is a short to 0V on the negative side.

Given there are a couple of supplies of switchmode step 12V down to the 5V and 3.3V, you are probably safe to go below 12V, I found myself using a small reg IDO, which keeps the power slightly lower at 12V and so far, the switch works fine.  No magic smoke yet. :-)

The full project details are available here: https://hackaday.io/project/10529/log/36511-12v-regulator-installation

  • Switch for BEFSR41?

I use a BEFSR41 for a few years now and that you want to add an Apple TV, but I'm from ports. I'd be OK just get an additional switch to add additional ports? If so is there a recommnedation? Is there a limitation to the BEFSR41 using a switch where it might be wiser to get a router with more ports? If I go the way of the switch it just use one of my existing ports to connect?

The router is version 4.1 and firmware 1.04.06

    Thank you.

Any standard ethernet switch will do. There is no limitation. It makes no sense to get a router with more ports, unless you need a better router (for example, a faster internet connection). And even then, I wouldn't necessarily get a router with more ports. A switch is much more convenient because you can have some ports to the location of the router and some additional ports to the location of the switch reducing the total length of the cables needed.

Connect one of the BEF LAN ports to the switch and that's it. So you have 'loose' two ports. In case you have one of the older models of the BEF who have an "uplink" port, do not forget that the uplink port and the port next to it are a shared port, that they connect internally on the same physical port. The uplink port is not an additional port.

You should consider getting a gigabit ethernet switch. Although the BEF is not gigabit and your internet connection probably does not exceed the 100 Mbit/s, however, it may be worth it if you have multiple gigabit ethernet devices. Devices connected to the gigabit switch may be able to use the bandwidth increased for the transfer of files or similar. (The Apple TV doesn't have a gigabit port if...)
