  There is no way to change or supplement the graphics system. I've seen the videos floating around devices of Frankenstein connected to the card slot wireless with the back cover open and then a powered external Bay with a standard desktop video card. Trying to put something like that will almost surely fry the motherboard, or at best will not perform very well. The mini pci-e slot for the wireless card is a 1 x pci-e bandwidth and video cards require 8 x bandwidth. So if you want to access a pci-e slot, you will need to remove the wireless card.   Laptop is a W500 with WinXP SP3. I have the external ViDock PCI Express video card. Absolutely, it works like a champ. I recently received an upgrade of memory 4gig for the W500. After the upgrade of the default value would be 2gig RAM for the new 4gig, the laptop does NOT start with the inserted PCI Express card. I remove the card PCI Express ViDock and it starts very well and of course, works very well. Same behavior either stand alone or in the docking station. I tried going back to the 2 Gig of RAM and the new ViDock works perfectly. Google is pretty quiet on this issue... This could be a problem with the ViDock? the W500? Windows XP? The memory? Doesn't seem wise for me a memory 'simple' update would disable a component. Thank you,-Ryan

• QOSMIO G40-114 and "PCI Express error"

  Just got a 2nd user Tecra S1. I was told that the drive SD card and USB ports do not work. Card reader (and card PCMCIA USB ports) works as well as the ps/2 port.

  Any ideas anyone? USB ports turn on power on indicators key USB etc but nothing is recognized under XP.

  I have a HP Pavilion a1730 (Vista OS) and a few weeks ago, the screen went black (no received no signal) after turning on the PC.
