Slot PCI Express HP p7-1203 question!

I just bought a HP p7-1203 today and I want to update the th graphics card and the specs say that it is a PCI Express x 16 (gen2.0) slot that means it's just a regular PCI Express slot or a PCI Express 2.0 slot? Probably a stupid question.

http://h20000.www2.HP.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/document.jsp?objectID=c02980014

This means that it is a second generation x 16 PCI-Express slot... so Gen2.0 it conforms to the PCI-E 2.0 standard.

  • Slot PCI-EXPRESS is version 1.0 or a 2.0?

    Hello

I have a 2010 HP HPE 360Z with the 3.2 GHZ AMD 6 core processor.    I upgraded my hard drive to a SSD drive to increase the speed of the software. Unfortuantly, the sata on the ALOE GL8E motherboard slot is only sata II where, as I want to speed III sata 6gbs.

I think about adding a map PCIexpress Hyper Duo of 6 G sata (III) increase to sata III 6 GB data transfer spped.

Y at - it slots 3 pci express on my phones a version that can run 6gbs (sata III)?

    Hi Paul,.

Thanks for your input... I added the mini sock and 6Gbs card pci express and past the two hard disks to the new 6 map of Gbs.

Unfortunately, the indications of cards were poorly written and now my bios are messy as new cards wizard did not finish...  The seller I bought the card iocrest said download the new drivers... is pretty difficult to do when your operationg system does not start.  management should do the download of the new drivers before you swich the original connections to the new Super express pci card sata HDD sata 6 G duo!

.. I tried to reverse the cables of the drive hard to the card mother sata II links to return to my original, but windows configuration 7 will not start.

  • PCI Express x 16 does not?

I have a HP Pavilion a1730 (Vista OS) and a few weeks ago, the screen went black (no received no signal) after turning on the PC. I tried / cable with my laptop screen and they work fine. the screen also works with the integrated graphics card and VGA on the back of the PC. I replaced the graphics card I had installed twice there are three-four years in the PCI Express slot and in both cases, the problem persisted. The manufacturer technical support card grapics said that most likely the slot PCI Express has gone wrong. Indeed, when I removed the 3-4 years-old graphics card, I had to pull hard because he had "stuck" in the slot. However there is no visible damage. Material detector does not see the replacement of the graphics card, the driver seems to be properly installed. The replacement of the card properly set match for Watt and amperage.

Should I bring the PC to a service center and if so, where in Essex county NJ? I couldn't find a list of service centers in the HP website.

Since the post it seems that the onboard graphics is still working OK.  It could be that the PCI slot has failed if a replacement of the graphics card does not resolve the problem.  In this case, I would do it from the options.  If she is taken to a repair facility, the cost of repairs would easily exceed the value of a computer this old (over 5 years).  Just my opinion, but use it with onboard graphics until more fails.

By checking several motherboards using the Intel G43 Express chipset (same as the one in question), they are all are rated 16 PCI-E 2.0.  The standard 3.0 is more recent than the date of reference of the manufacturer of your PC.  Some PCI-E 3.0 might be OK in this motherboard but make sure that they are backward compatible.

    Hello:

I don't think that anyone will be able to answer this question with a correct answer of 100%.

You must look at the chipset and determine if these PCIe versions have been introduced.

Based on the chipset (G33), I would say that your PCIe location is v1.1, because Intel had slots capable PCIe 2.0 until the X 38 chipset was introduced.

You should find this article informative.

    http://en.Wikipedia.org/wiki/PCI_Express

You'd probably be 100% sure to install a video card PCIe 2.0 on your computer subject to power supply constraints.

    http://support.HP.com/us-en/document/c02497785

I want to add an external graphics card and it is possible olnly via PCI Express slot or a slot express card, and this model does not have an express card slot.

I also discovered the mantanence and service guidehttp://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/manualCategory?cc=us & lc = in & product = 4308465 this type of models support bluetooth module, since my laptop doesn't have a bluetooth, is it possible that the PCI Express slot for the bluetooth module is empty.

And I would like to know if it is possible for me to add an external graphics card or I need to change the graphc card that comes with this laptop?

There is no way to change or supplement the graphics system. I've seen the videos floating around devices of Frankenstein connected to the card slot wireless with the back cover open and then a powered external Bay with a standard desktop video card. Trying to put something like that will almost surely fry the motherboard, or at best will not perform very well. The mini pci-e slot for the wireless card is a 1 x pci-e bandwidth and video cards require 8 x bandwidth. So if you want to access a pci-e slot, you will need to remove the wireless card. Bluetooth on this model is made by a card in combination with the wireless.

Your laptop doesn't have an expresscard slot, as you acknowledge. They are available only on business models high end of our days, and the same limitations apply to have an external videocard connected through an expresscard slot.

You can change the motherboard of your laptop. You have a version with the Intel HD graphics only, and I'm sure that other versions of the series dv6-3000 used best graphics systems. You seek to a significant investment in time and money for it. Post back, however, if you want to just give it a shot and we can track down numbers of specific parts and manuals of instructions or videos for you.

  • HP Compaq 8100 Elite: Video unrecognized card in PCI-Express x 16 slot for security

I disable the PCI Express connector in the computer - security - Slot Configuration on BIOS.

I don't know that my card on Board did not work and now machine does not start, machine beeps 6 times (error video card).

    I can't access the bios.

I try to reset the CMOS, remove the Green rider, remove CMOS battery, press the button within 10 seconds, press the power button (to remove rest of energy.

    But none of it works.

    Can someone help me?

How can I reactivate PCI Express x 16?

    Hello:

If your integrated graphics card does not work, and reset the CMOS does not work, you can try putting the PCI express x 16 video card, you now have in the location PCIe White x 4 slot (slot next to the slot PCIe x 16 black white video card) and see if you can get into the BIOS to change the PCI x 16 setting.  It might work in the x 4 slot.

If it does not, you will need to install a video card PCI (the one that goes in one of the white PCI slots) and use it to get into the BIOS, so you can change the settings to enable the location of PCIe x 16.

So see if you can find a cheap, used, video card PCI on eBay, and should allow you to have the video again.

You should also make sure you have removed all the connections of the computer when you reset the CMOS (all cables, power supply, mouse, monitor, etc.).

  • The attention! Error initializing PCI express slot 4 (for a PCIe used in the PXI-1033 chassis)

    Hello

I have problems with my PXI system. When I try to contact the 1033 chassis using his high card my computer does not recognize (the PC displays the message during the start-up stage: "alert!) Error Initializing PCI express Slot 4). It was working fine before, but the chassis has been disconected with the PC on. I read that it may cause failures of communication, but I have not found a good source for this problem. Could someone help me with this problem?

    Thank you very much!

    Victor

    Hi Victor,

Can you check something for me? One, can you try to disconnect the cable between the PXI and PCIe cards and try to restart your machine. When you do this, you still see the message? I know that you mentioned in your first point that the chassis is turned on when you see the error message, so I'm just trying to clarify what you mean by that.

Also, it is quite easy to plug in a cable express MXI upside down, so even if point 2 you said that the links appear to be good I had to check to make sure that the cable is properly connected. You have additional cables, you can test?

  • ThinkStation S30 + question Plextor PX - AG512M6e PCI Express SSD

We try to do the Plextor P6e working with S30 as boot drive. For now - no luck. Playing with different settings of BIOS S30 - not made no difference. This PCI Express SSD drive is bootable, without driver, with a clean ROM with AHCI implemented. Logo of ROM shows same at startup. However, it seems that S30 does not know what to do with it. SSD itself supports UEFI boot and legacy.

If the Windows installation (7) is started from DVD, he sees SSDS as 'disc', but it cannot be partiitioned and there is a message, windows cannot be installed on it, since it cannot be boot drive. We have cloned the SSD HARD drive Windows installation; S30 doesn't recognize it, then will not start.

P.S., Plextor itself is not a problem, works well with many other computers, even with Lenovo M91p...

  • PCI Express x 16 slot

I was just given an old computer a HP Pavilion media center PC a1340.  I have a 300w power supply can I get a video card PCI Express with HDMI connections? My computer is powerful enough for her?  Also if I can, what is the best I can?

    Thank you

    Sue, welcome to the forum.

Yes, you can use a discrete video card.  However, with the 300W PSU (PSU), you will be limited.  Newer cards require a power supply with a minimum of 400 w to operate correctly.

I ran a Power Supply calculator Newegg, based on the specifications of the computer, and you should have at least 341W to run one of the cards less.  There are some who require only 350W, but who always pushes your PSU.  It is very old years PSU and it cannot take the pressure.

I have to be honest, I don't want to see you spend your money on something that may not work.  I hesitate to make a recommendation.
