Satellite P300 - freeze on Boot after POST

Hi all

I have a problem with my Satellite P300, my pc freeze (freeze) after the detection of devices.
You can see a screenshot here: * http://uploads.siteduzero.com/files/253001_254000/253465.jpg *.

I turned off of the battery during the night: nothing
I connect the two G1 under memory for 30 min: nothing
No matter what I do, it crashes at the same place.
I tried to change the memory and the HARD drive, I'm sure they are OK

How can I make a clear CMOS on Satellite P300 please?

Can someone help me please?

Thank you very much

(I'm French: p)

Hello AJAX,.

> How can I make a clear CMOS on Satellite P300 please?
This is not possible, mate.

You can access the BIOS Setup when you press the F2 key?

If this isn't the case I think that you already have what you can try and it seems to be a serious malfunction of equipment. So I contact nearest authorized maintainer and ask for help. ;)

    Hey,.

Can you start in safe mode when you press the F8 key?

If you don t have a recovery disc and can access t the start menu Windows Advanced, you can try a normal Microsoft Windows disk to reinstall Windows.
All the drivers and tools that you can download from the Toshiba page.

  • Satellite P300 itself keeps restarting after the initial splash screen.

My Satellite P300 itself keeps restarting after the initial splash screen.

Start-up of the first screen with the F2 and F12 options down is displayed, the screen goes black, then a cursor appears in the upper left corner and flashes once or twice. Then the laptop stops and restarts and goes through the same process again and again.

That's all with the power adapter is plugged in. If disconnected, he goes through the above process and close with no reboot.

Any help or advice would be much appreciated.

Start your laptop and enter the settings of the BIOS (F2). Set to its default value. Restart your computer, and press F8 to access the advanced boot menu.
To start the laptop in safe mode and let us know if it works, try it please.

  • Satellite P300 freezing after more than 20 minutes

    Hello

    I hope someone can help.
My satellite P300 laptop freezes when left for more than 20 minutes.
This has been a problem since the purchase of the laptop 8 months ago.

    I have windows vista installed.

When this happens I've pressed the button until the computer restarts, it gives me the option to start in safe mode.
This can't be good for the laptop?
Is there a way to solve this problem, as I turn the laptop off when ever I leave.

    See you soon

    Hello

It's not easy to say what is the reason for this as it can be different things

Maybe your laptop is overheating. You can hear the fan or get very hot? Maybe you should try to clean using compressed air stream. This could blow out the dust from the cooling fans.

You said that you have installed Windows Vista on your laptop. Do you mean the factory settings or you have installed your own version of Windows?

It could also be the RAM problem. You can check this with Memtest86. It is a diagnostic program for the RAM. You can download it from [www.memtest86.com]. It s freeware and easy to use (just to burn a bootable CD with the image and the start of it).

Good luck and post your results after that.

When happened the first time I formatted.

Was ok at first, but the situation returns!

    Hello

Have you checked the HARD drive?
Maybe that's a problem of HARD drive... I mean something with defective or similar areas...

You can check the HARD disk using a 3rd party software like Drive Fitness Test
    You can download it here:
    http://www.HitachiGST.com/HDD/support/download.htm

Download, burn this image to disk, and then use this disk to start.

This will check your HARD drive

  • Satellite C50B freezes at startup after update BIOS to 5.10

    Hello
    I updated the BIOS of my Satellite C50 - B - 14 d (PSCMLE) to 5.10 (a final release early sept. 2015).
The update succeeded, and the laptop runs as long as I do not install the drivers for the card WiFi (Atheros AR9485).
If I try to install the driver (it does not matter which, those of the Toshiba website or those of the manufacturer, of), the laptop crashes before the end of the installer.
Installing drivers from Device Manager makes the laptop freeze on when Windows starts (I tried 7, 8.1, and 10).
Completely on the Windows logo screen it freezes, and I have to turn off it.

In addition, the wired network adapter is not detected (it does not appear in Device Manager).
The same question is described here (http://www.eightforums.com/general-s...ses-start.html), but no solution.

Any suggestion? The BIOS may be downgraded? The BIOS update utility does not Flash an older version.

    Thank you!

    Hi indutry,

I also have exactly the same problem since updating my BIOS to 5.10 with my Toshiba C50 - B - 14 d PSC MLE

I have to start windows in safe mode without network to disable the Atheros AR9485 before restarting again in normal mode.
I now have to use an external WiFi adapter as my LAN port is now also lack!

Upset that the BIOS update has broken all my embedded network on the laptop.

I tried to update the Atheros drivers to the latest version, but as soon as the device is turned on again the system crashes and we're back to square one.

There is no solution that I can find other than turning off the unit and live without built in WiFi + LAN.

I hope Toshiba can be remedied with a new BIOS update?

  • Satellite P300 cannot connect WiFi after update BIOS

    Hello

After using the original BIOS updated to programm my P300 - 18M can not find wireless networks.

I've updated with file BIOS on 2008-09-22 without any problem. The strange thing is: using the network wireless switch
in front of the P300, it activates the Bluetooth on or off instead of the wireless network card. The wireless card is now is still running, but can't
    find any network.

Another labtop sees several wireless networks, as well as the P300 did before upgrading the BIOS.

Can someone give me some advice or help me with an older version of BIOS for Windows XP?

    Thnx!

    John

    Hello

Very strange problem, but maybe it can be solved very easily
You should try to simply update the WLan driver.
In addition, you should access the BIOS and it should define the default settings.

    Check it out!

  • Satellite M40X 299: no boot after recovery

    Hello

I have a problem with my satellite M40. After a problem with spy software, I tried to format my pc.
I did a restore of the system with the original cd. At the end of the mind, I pressed ctrl + alt + delete to restart as it was written.
But nothing happens, I have only a cursor in the upper left corner of the screen and windows does not start. I did the operation 3 times and it's always the same result.

I don't know what more I can do.

    Thanks for help.

    Excuse me for my English

It's very strange. Can you get the CD of Microsoft facilities and try to install the OS? I'm really interested if the same thing will happen again.

Please don't be crazy on me because I t n wrote a few exact explanation but after recovery without end I've done in the last 8 years I have never seen anything like it.

  • Satellite L300 refuses to boot after BIOS update

    Hello

L300 my girlfriend was terribly dragged so we decided to format C:. We did it with the XP restore disc that came with it.

Then we had to update the drivers. We started the installation of upgrading the BIOS on Toshiba driver site, disappeared for a while and when we returned, the computer has restarted itself.

He has been stuck in a cycle of the screen "loading windows" and one with a lower bar that says press F2 for this or F12 for this. Tried all the options in the start menu, not even safe mode works.

We have tried to reformat with the previous method, by inserting the XP CD and by holding down the 'C' button when starting. We get the familiar "Windows Setup" screen, and it seems to load all the files from the CD windows installation. But when we come to the installation, we get a blue screen error message. "A problem has been detected and Windows has shut down to prevent damage to your computer...". Technical information: * STOP: 0x0000007B (0xF78D254, 0xC0000034, 0x00000000, 0x00000000)

Nothing seems to work, please help! We really want to save the images on the disk D: partition.

    Hello

Try to configure the BIOS to the default settings.
You need to access the BIOS, and there you can set the default value.
Please check if you can install the operating system by using the-> AHCI and compatible SATA mode.
If you are using AHCI to include the SATA drivers. If you are using compatibility mode, then SATA drivers are not necessary.

If you want to get access to the HARD disk before you install the operating system in the C partition, then I would recommend to start the laptop using a Windows Live CD WinPE and BartPe.
Both are live CD what don t need an installation, you must boot from this drive only to access to content on the HARD drive.

  • Satellite L40 - unable to boot after cloning HDD

    Hello

I tried to clone my hard drive using Norton Ghost 15 and managed to bumble big time. Now when starting, I get a message saying windows do not regonize boot sequence. Enter in the instalation disk, choose the language and click on fix my computer.

The single disk that I received with my laptop, was a recovery disk, which I guess will remove everything. Where can I get an Instalation disc or is there another way I can start and fix my laptop?

    Kind regards.

    Yrret

    Hey,.

This means you have cloned the current installation of Windows on another HARD drive?
Well, maybe that something was wrong during this process or this version of Ghost is not compatible with Windows XP
Have you tested with another program?

    > The single disk that I received with my laptop, was a recovery disk, which I guess will remove all
Yes, this disk will delete everything on the HARD disk to restore to factory settings.

    > Where can I get an installation disc or is there another way I can start and fix my laptop?
You can get a normal Windows disk of each computer store I think.
You can access the Windows Advanced Boot menu?

  • Satellite P300-1EI - hangs upward after Windows Update

After update to Windows Installer the last update (27/12/08), Windows Vista always hangs up on the screen "Please wait" after the reboot.

After the call to Toshiba support, I was told that it was advisable to do a full restore from the HARD drive and disable Windows Update.

Y at - it a patch/update driver/firmware to fix this problem and be able to activate Windows Update?

    Hello!

It s unclear not for me it's such a program or patch available for this program.

What you can do is to start in safe mode and remove the update.
If you have no success, I agree with the support from Toshiba. You must perform a HARD drive recovery. Press F8 at startup, choose 'Repair your computer' and follow the instructions in the menu

    Good bye

  • Satellite P300 freezes for 2-3 seconds

    Hello

I had this problem from the beginning. When I plug this laptop it had Vista on it. In the random time intervals the computer froze briefly, making a stuttering noise, if there is an audio output. I've tried everything. I installed a new vista on the computer, tried to update the bios new drivers, etc. Now I switched to win7 and I still have the same question.

It is more quite as common, but it is always very anonying. I cannont see any link with the use of the CPU or RAM. Recently, I turned my laptop to the toshiba service, but they deny any hardware failure. In other threads, I read on a windows update. I have searched for it, but it has not been installed (Vista).

Can you help me? DOES ANYONE HAVE AN IDEA WHAT IS GOING ON HERE?
I'm getting desperate. I've never owned a PC that I had no problem with. That cannot be normal.

    Hello

    Hello Damo

Maybe that my comment will be not so nice, but if you did the Microsoft updates and now the problem is why you ask for help on the forum of Toshiba. Before the updates from Microsoft, I check the list of available updates each time. Here you can see the Type of update. It can be recommended, important or NOT important.

For me it is OK to install patches KBxxx but WHY install update to pre-installed software?
It makes sense that something can go wrong. Laptop manufacturer has nothing to do with it and if you have any problem you have two possibilities: either you reuse own laptop with pre-installed software tested or send the request to Microsoft.
