power dv4 1551-dx problems

Hello

I have my pavilion dv4 laptop dx-1551 for more than 2 years. Recently, I had trouble with the AC adapter. The loading icon does not show that the computer is connected to the power outlet, even when the jack light is on (which is unstable). Problem is, when the icon does not appear, the computer is running on battery power, and I can hardly connect to the socket. The AC adapter seems to work, but I have to stay connected on and outside, until he finally turns the icon...

I've already updated the BIOS, as I read in other topics on the forum. Any other ideas? Buy a new power adapter solve the problem?

Thank you!

That's why I asked you that.question to help solve the problem.

The DC Jack that the adapter plugs into the laptop has problems. It must be replaced to solve the problem.

The icon will not appear, because not enough current going circuits charginging/power on the motherboard.

  • Power Mac Pro 2010 problems

So I just bought a Mac Pro 2010 and it ran fine for a day or two and then I noticed that when he falls asleep the light never blinks and turn even a problem.

If the unit is off, when I first press the button there is a click but the led stays off and nothing happens. I have to hold down the power button until there is another click. When I press the button once again, there is a click and the power of fans on and the machine finally starts. Although the chime time seems very long.

However, when he goes to sleep, the monitor turns off, I can hear the fans turns off but never flashes as it should the. Subsequently, the computer cannot be awakened from his sleep. This happens if the timer is active, I press the power button or choose to sleep in the menu. I have to hold the power button to turn it off completely, then start it again. Also, when I press the power button to restart the same as above occurs.

I ran Onyx to flush all caches that I left my SSD (OWC E2) my Mac Pro 2008. I also reset the SMC and the LANDAU and also ran the Apple Hardware test. Nothing has helped and no errors not found in one of these trials. I tried simply have a HARD classic in this drive and removed all my cards accessories but that does not make a difference. Even when I start windows via boot camp the same problem occurs with sleep.

    Any suggestions?

I had a similar with a 2010 6 core Mac Pro problem except that the Mac I never sleep, so sleep was not involved. An Apple Store Genius diagnosed as a button battery failure and, eventually, the PS. I asked that the two be replaced since the support for that Mac ends. It's worked OK since then and at Pick-up, engineering was agreed that, while the battery needs replacement, the real problem was the PS.

Until the repair, one of the things that helped aims to let the Mac disconnected from the AC line for about an hour. Immediately after it by plugging in, he would sometimes start and then work.

  • Power on Tecra M2 problems

My Tecra M2 will be commissioned, but the battery is still dead, if I remove the battery and just use the power cord that the machine starts up nice work as it should then just cut, after five minutes.

Also, it starts with the battery and the power cord but after five minutes, as before but flashes then dies.
If I let the machine closed to recharge it charges for five minutes before the power supply green led turns off with the amber battery light. Then the power cord light flashes in orange.
I have to unplug it and remove the battery to make it back to the State of charging.

The machine was working fine before and runs on xp pro.

On this virtual path, it is not easy to say what is the problem, but after reading your ad, I think that your Tecra has problem with electronic control gear.
To be honest I don t think you can do something about it.

Of course, it can be checked by the service of Toshiba, but I think it's too expensive for this old piece of hardware.
In my opinion you should backup all your data and sell it on ebay. Someone can buy it to use different hardware components. I think it's time for the new laptop computer.

  • Power on Satellite P100 problems

    Hello

I just had my second adapter percent machine and it sounds like a common fault with this model (P100-286). Is it possible to change the power supply of a 4 pins that I have now to single round pin that seems more robust that I have a second laptop, but not a Toshiba.

My adapter is a 15V 8A and I know that you can buy a replacement with single pin socket, but y at - it a plug power jack compatible with this machine, I can use. If you can offer a model number or a link. Is there anyone who has had the same problem and changed the Jack and is successful.

I also watched the power plug in my machine and it's a 2 red and 2 black wired connection that plugs into the mobo.

No you cannot convert in a single dose, because you need 4 pins for 8 amps requires that the laptop.

Single pin adapters are only 5 or 6 amps.

Are you raising the laptop from the front when the adapter is plugged? This will put a lot of effort on the plug of the adapter and damage it.

  • Power HP Envy 23 problem

    Hello

I have a PC HP Envy touch 23

He died and now does power back on.

When you connect the power supply on the wall, the light on the power supply, but when you then plug in the back of the PC, the light turns off and the PC does not illuminate.

I guess it's a motherboard problem, but I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this.

    Thanks in advance.

Hope things are resolved.  It's always depressing when tech fails.

  • Power power on Satellite L850 problem

2 months ago I had a problem and I had my main changed with a new card. Before going into the toshiba service center my battery held only about 1 hour. When I got back my laptop with the new main Board battery is a not even hold for 1 second. It was completely dead and useless. So I ordered a new battery on ebay and I just got today.

When I plug it into the laptop battery LED flashes orange. When I tried power the laptop on nothing's happened. When the battery is in, regardless if the laptop is turned on or off, the light continues to blink and regardless if the power adapter is plugged or not, laptop does not turn on. The only way I powered on with new battery needed to remove and turn right on the adapter and then connect the battery. But when I remove the card, the laptop turns off after 2-3 seconds.

I tried to remove the battery drivers and reinstall them, but it did not help. I also tried to remove the adapter and the battery and keep the power button for a while and who have no effect too.

    Hello

Is this new original Toshiba product of battery or another brand?
To me, this looks like a compatibility issue. Somehow placed electronic power on the motherboard may not work with this new battery.

  • Power with Equium L10 problems

    Hello world

When I insert the power cord into the laptop it does not load upward or indicator will quickly change from battery power provided by the plug.

I bought another adapter and I still have the same problem. I wonder if it's something internally in the computer, because it also sometimes makes a high-pitched sound (like the sound of a boiling kettle of whistle!).

    Can anyone offer advice?

    Thank you.

The problem must be bound to the hardware failure. But nothing to do with the AC adapter. It s perhaps something wrong with the electronic power supply on the motherboard.

Have you checked the battery? How old is your battery?
Usually after about 500 times charge and discharge the battery loses performance and sometimes it of necessary to replace this part.

But that is only my suggestion and to be sure, on malfunction, verification of the material is required.
You should definitely ask a technician and a service provider.

  • X 230 win 8.1 power management device driver problem

    Hello

Cool win 8 build in place upgrade to 8.1. Then all the tools Lenovo update and latest Lenovo compatibility package installed.

This device is not properly detected. I think it's a driver problem Power Manager (based on an old post with the same problem, but no resolution posted).

    Lenovo X 230

    Type: 2330-A59

    Device instance path: ACPI\LEN0078\5 & 2890D 699 & 0

Location: On the controller shipped compatible ACPI Microsoft

I tried the typical removal of the device and re - run the PM (Lenovo.com last) driver installation package. No change. The device is listed back in the device as an "Unknown" Device Manager

Everyone there knows the solution? I hope it's something that I'm a little more research.

Found the answer. It is NOT the PM Driver.

  • Features of the power manager and other problems associated with the T510

For the better part of 5 years, I was a happy user of an IBM Z60m and decided it was time to move my z60 to my son and buy a new T510.  Well, I have after several weeks of property I can honestly say I'm irritated and frustrated by several current issues and I'm ready to send back all.

Starting from the moment I pulled it out of the box I was having problems of power management.  I was on Microsoft help forums, called the lenovo support and spent countless hours on blogs and forums looking for help.   No matter what I do in the put lenovo on arrangements to take away my computer goes to stanby after one minute of inactivity and then wonder my windows password.  After a full day to insert my password my frustration level is off the chart.  I removed the password in the settings of the user who has not helped.  I changed the global settings to disable password in stanby mode which did not help.  I changed the function to optimize power and others, but none of it helped.

Beyond these problems... I inserted two different discs to insert new programs and my system kept telling me that he did not read either.  I first thought they were zero but my old laptop ibm read without problem.

    So there you have it.

Are you sure that the system is set the mode after 1 minute?  Or is the screen is locked?

    Try this:

    1. right click on the desktop and choose "Customize".

    2. click on "screen saver" in the lower right corner

    3. uncheck the box that says "On Resume, the logon screen"

    Which solves your problem?

  • Power supply causing USB problems.

I recently bought a HP p6267c at Costco. It is a system of Q8300 with 8 GB of RAM and it works quiet well. As the graphics card on this subject is not as good as my 9600GT, I decided to give it a shot. Only problem is that the power supply on the HP does not have the PCI-E power connection. I put in my diet from my old computer and the computer starts well, just all USB ports do not have the connections of the mouse or the keyboard. I plugged in my iPod and he acknowledged and grew. I wonder what could cause my power supply for connecting USB not notice just the keyboard and mouse.

Well, it provides enough power for the USB on my old system. Also, I put the 4350 in the system and does not require the PCI-e power, and it still does not detect the keyboard or the mouse. I don't know exactly what is the cause, but the 5V shall not work just somehow on the new computer. The Board just freaked out on me too, so I think return this machine and starting from scratch. Thank you for the help guys, but I just think I got bad luck on this one.

  • HP Pavilion dv4-1100ea display problem

Hello, I have a HP Pavilion dv4-1100ea which has display problems.  The LCD screen is blank. When I turn on it starts the fine on an external monitor.

If I shine a strong light on laptops LCD screen I can see the login screen and I was able to open a session.

Is it possible to tell what happened to be defective? Does the backlight, Inverter or LCD?

    Thanks for the help,

You were spot on. It turned out that the inverter was not defective it was all down to the cable not properly connected screen.

I couldn't see the display cable connector when I replaced the inverter because it covered the keypad cover.

I have the UPS old back in, cable connected correctly display and rear display. Thanks for the help

  • Power off the computer problems

Shut down the computer, and then become a computer restart. And not close to turn the computer off by pressing the CPU instead. How about the problems?

Shutdown problems are usually caused by a program or process that won't come out gracefully. The program or process may be against malware, or may be legitimate (for example a pervasive like Norton or McAfee antivirus). If you use Norton or McAfee product, uninstall it and replace it with a better program like NOD32, Kasperksy or Avast (free). The Windows Firewall is enough for most people. Shutdown problems can also be caused by old/badly written drivers so make sure that all drivers are updated, especially on Windows Vista and Windows 7.

A.the first step should always ensure that your computer is free of viruses/malware.

    http://www.elephantboycomputers.com/page2.html#Removing_Malware

    B. If the computer is free of viruses/malware, the drivers are current, and no program Norton or McAfee is installed, then do boot minimum troubleshooting to see what program/process is the culprit:

Standard caveat: If the problem is too difficult - and there is absolutely no shame in admitting it isn't your cup of tea - take the machine to a computer repair shop.
