Power failure during restore

I did a system restore and the power is out at home. Now, when I try to start, he messages then goes to a black screen. I cannot go into the Cmos and mode without failure, but everything I take I still geta black screen. My question is, is my motherboard cooked? or just my OS. Thanks for the info.

  • HP G60 100em power failure during startup

    My friend gave me his 'brick' HP G60 laptop 100em, had told him the motherboard was fried and it would cost a lot to fix, so he bought a new and gave it to me to see if I could fix it. Strangely, it starts on the first attempt and load of Vista, which was very slow and unable to connect to the internet wifi. However, a system restore fixed these problems. HP battery check pointed out that I need to replace the battery, and if I brought out the cable from the laptop turns off immediately. I left it overnight and now if I press the power button, it turns on for 1-3 seconds and then turns off as if she had no power at all. I tried to run without battery and reset the BIOS (by removing and re - insert the small battery) nothing works.

    I had questions on this cell here before and came to the conclusion that the video was fried (it was accidentally connected to an HDMI output and not the entry) but Vista has been fully fuctional after a restoration seems to dispute the fact that. Is it possible to repair this laptop? I'm more inclined to buy a new motherboard and install it myself rather than buying a whole new laptop.

    EDIT: At the start of the battery (without adapter) power button and 'on' LED lights up white and Wifi lights orange very weakly. This will remain until the laptop is off, but the display will be blank (without backlight either)

    Hello

    Ok.

    Usually the manuals say to remove the CMOS battery and leave it for five minutes to clear CMOS. I'd be more inclined to leave overnight after pressing them and holding the button power (15 seconds) to drain current in CMOS eeprom chip.

    You are almost at the stage ultimate make or break effort.

    If clearing the CMOS rejuvenate the laptop system board then he only has value as a paperweight.

  • Power failure during the use of Vodafone 3 G card - Equium M50

    Can anyone help me please with a problem?

    I recently bought a laptop Equium M50 to help with the work. At the same time, I bought a Vodafone 3 G data for mail recovery card electronic remote access, etc. Whenever I plug the 3G card into the appropriate slot, the laptop turns off completely. Sometimes, I am able to get a connection to the net, but in the minute of connection, the power to the laptop shuts down.

    I returned the card 3G to be informed that it works very well, I got a verification of diagnosis by PC World and they inform me that there is no problem with the laptop
    I was advised to update the BIOS that I did and realized all of the Windows updates. The problem remains though.
    I would appreciate help with this query. Everyone knows a similar problem?

    Just in the middle of the update the firmware for my Color LaserJet 2600n, the power is out. Now I can't get anything to happen on the printer. The screen, or the power lights and the error light, but it does not work when the power is put on. I think that he wiped the previous firmware and either had not started or has been along the way in writing the new info. Is it possible that I can cancel it and reload the original firmware? It hangs on my MacBook Pro running OS 10.6.8. The only thing that the instructions seriously cautioned against a interrupt the installation. Needless to say, this is exactly what happened when the power is out. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Able to understand me. Has proved to be quite simple. Powered off the printer and turn it back on and represented the firmware upgrade program. The printer didn't restart automatically, so I had to power off and wait 5 seconds before feeding this back. Once he recalibrated itself (which takes several minutes), I was in business.

  • Power failure during recovery full on Equium A300d-13 X

    Even an advanced user who fix PCs for a living can sometimes forget that the plug of the adapter was not lit - Oh!

    He created partially the C drive, but of course not finished, Windows will not start and there is no option to fix your computer to activate the recovery again. When I boot with Vista DVD and access to command line, I can see that the recovery partition is still intact with all the pictures inside.

    Is there a manual method to initiate recovery manually script without having to wait for days for a replacement disk? I had a similar situation with another laptop with Vista and I had to define the paths on the D drive, and then run the recovery tool of their manually but I can do the same thing with a Tosh?

    Thanks in advance...

    Hmm the HDD recovery could be launched by pressing the F8 key immediately after that the laptop has been turned on. An advanced boot menu should appear, then you should choose the first option called repair your computer.
    Then a HARD drive recovery should start over.

    If it doesn't work then you will need a Toshiba Recovery disk to perform a new installation of the OS.
    Unfortunately, but I doubt you'd be able to start the recovery of HARD drive using another way.

  • R720 PSU fan failure after restored power reports

    I have a rack with 18 R720s in it. They all have two power supplies (most with a couple of 750W 495W) with a set connected to a PDU to the power of the wall, and the second set on a PDU is connected to a UPS. Servers are configured for redundancy of the PS, and those on the power supply were active power supplies.

    I wanted to see what the UPS thought that his execution would be a power failure, so I unplugged the PDU from the power supply. When I plugged it back, all the power supply turned on, however 5 (4 x 495W and 1 x 750W) systems reported a failed fan on PS1 (PSU0037). I checked the systems, the fans were all running. I pulled the plug of the PSU, then pulled the unit from the server, it reintroduced and plugged in. This caused the error to clear. On one of them, I tried just pulling the plug, but it didn't clear until I pulled the power supply itself.

    Is this firmware probably just buggy or code is a real problem? The 495W PSUS are in execution PN 0N24MJA01 07.25.7D fw version, and the 750W is 05NF18A01 07.2B.7D running. Systems that had no problem are all the same PN & fw.

    Hello

    You're right, the power supply firmware must be updated and then the server must be rolled power and who should clear the error. http://www.Dell.com/support/article/us/en/19/SLN293489/en

    Hello-

    I have a PC desktop Gateway which is no longer start after a power failure has occurred during the installation of Vista SP2. The computer displays the progress at the bottom indicator, then, before that can display the login screen, the screen goes black, with a white cursor. CTRL-Alt-Del and Ctrl-Shift-Esc do nothing.

    I tried without success to the following:

    * Safe Mode/Safe Mode control guest - boots to black screen new
    * Startup Repair - told me there is nothing wrong
    * System Restore - tells me there is no available restore points
    * System restore the OEM DVD - can not find hard drive
    * Re-install this is disabled because I can't start Windows Vista-

    There are * all * options other than wiping the disc/lose all my data? The PC is in a remote area and backup drive is not an easy thing to achieve.

    The PC is no longer under warranty of the bridge, and I understand that Microsoft supports is no longer installs OEM of Vista.

    I can tell you how to make bootable disks, but you already have a disk.

    It must be switched on!
    Not much use, is it!

    Good luck with it.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Download the ISO on the provided link and do a repair of the disc.
    Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.
    At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu.
    When you have changed that, insert the Bootable disk you did in the drive and reboot.
  • Power failure/loose Power Bar power cord
    I want to run a few questions in front of the members of the forum:
    Last week, my power bar power cord became loose and off the bar, which stops the computer and the monitor. The monitor has a power button function.
    Before that other devices in the power bar are turned off and unplugged, until the power bar is turned off, until the power is reconnected, until the power bar is turned off, before other devices are plugged in, and before that the devices are suppressed:
    1. in the event that the computer and the monitor will turn off (as they were in the position 'On' when they stop unexpectedly) "or" there is no 'Off' option either on the computer, the monitor, or both devices so that they can be disconnected and reconnected since they will be in the position "Off"?
    2. If the computer and the monitor are 'On' when they turn off automatically during a power failure, can they be left alone without the risk of a wave when the power is restored, OR is there a risk of a surge?
    b. is there "is" a risk of a surge because they are still in position "On", should they be disabled (or they are already in the "Off" position?) unplugged and should bar be off and unplugged then until the power is restored?
    3. in fact, during a blackout, should all appliances be turned off and disconnected, so there is no risk of a circuit breaker of the circuit limit, causing a power surge, or if all appliances can remain plugged in and left in their respective "On / Off" position since before the failure?
    Hello
    Sorry for the late reply.
    It is advisable to have the power with a surge protector bar in areas where the power failure and the cutting power is often or generally just to ensure the security of your system and in particular data. If in your region, power failure, power failure is rare, so you can avoid surge protector.
    Hope, I could answer your query. Feel free to post on the forum if you have any concerns more associated with Windows. We will be happy to help you.
    Kind regards
  • Windows 7 starts problems with black screen and the cursor because of power failure
    I'm on a Windows 7 64-bit Home Premium OS. Start-up problems arose after the power failure (accidentally unplugged the charger, the battery was not in place) during a video call in Skype. Accessories attached to the laptop at the time were a Logitech Webcam, a dongle Bluetooth, microphone and headphones.
    When starting my laptop Asus N81VP, he'll go as far as the 'Starting Windows' logo, then I meet a black screen with a mobile cursor. I don't then right click, CTRL + ALT + DELETE.
    I tried the things:
    Start Up Repair = "cannot automatically repair."
    System Restore = no available restore points
    Windows Memory Diagnostic = at 100%, no screen of detected problems, then black with mobile cursor
    Networking Mode Safe Mode/Safe = black screen with cursor mobile
    Activate video low resolution (640 x 480) = black screen with cursor mobile
    Good known Configuration = black screen with cursor mobile list
    Start Windows normally = black screen with cursor mobile
    Please help me. I've had this laptop for less than a year, and it would break my heart to have to re - format.
    You seem to have exhausted most of the options available in such cases, except two:
    D ' log in under a different account.
    -To restore your registry files manually. See below for more details.
    On your heart that could get broken: have you considered using the imaging facility that is integrated with Windows 7? You can find it in the control panel / backup and restore. This is somewhat marginal in the feature and it can be finicky, but it saved my butt several times.
    You can restore your registry files manually to a previous point through the steps described below. The process is complex and requires some careful typing. Ask a computer-savvy friend to help you if you lack experience in this field. Note that it may reset your password to a previous value.
    1. keep tapping F8 during the first phase of startup.
    2. Select repair in the menu that looks like this:
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/advanced-startup-options-including-safe-mode
    3 log in as administrator if you are prompted.
    4. Select repair when prompted.
    5. Select the command line in the menu that looks like this:
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/what-are-the-system-recovery-options-in-Windows-7
    6. identify the correct drive letter for your Windows installation. It could be one drive other than c, but it will not X:. You do this by typing commands
    DIR C:\Win*
    Dir D:\Win*
    dir E:\Win*
    until you find the Windows folder.
    I'll call this "Q:" drive
    7 type these commands:
    CD /d Q:\windows\System32\config
    xcopy *. * Q:\MyRegBack\
    CD RegBack
    dir
    8. review the dates of the software, system, and SAM files. The files created before or after that is your problem?
    9. If they were made before the problem appeared, you can then type these commands:
    copy software / y...
    /y copy system...
    /y copy Sam...
    (the two points are part of each order)
    10. restart normally. If things don't work then you can go back by copying files from the original register of Q:\MyRegBack to Q:\Windows\System32\config.
