Power market vs. battery pull

As I understand it, turn off the phone, then back on "restarts" the operating system. Removing and replacing the battery doesn't do something different?

Thank you

Rick

Technically Yes.  Most electronic devices are running some if disabled using the same battery and a little more than others.  Because most of the data that must remain mobile (for example, the clock) are based on signals from the cell towers, there is very little past with the phone and power on and the phone will be reset the operating system.  If the phone hangs or is experencing other questions, it may help to remove the battery for a few seconds so that all the power releases from the phone.  This will ensure that all resets correctly.  I had a few problems that could only be fixed by a battery pull, however, more will be fine with a power off.

  • BlackBerry BB Q10 Q10 - difference between Power OFF and "battery pull out?"

    Hello

Anyone has any info on what difference the phone sees between a switching OFF power and make a battery out?

Apparently, some of the guys to BlackBerry customer service advise you to do a battery pull off when the phone is in MODE.

Just curious to know what is the reason behind it.

When you turn off your phone, keep everything intact until you turn on again. When you do a battery pull, he interrupts the operation of the phone and many temporary files, not necessary for the proper functioning of the phone, are deleted. In many cases, when there is something playing havoc on your phone it is found within these temporary files.

Another method to do a battery pull should press and hold the power button until the BlackBerry is displayed on the screen. Other things will appear before that but if you continue to hold until it shows, the effect is similar to a battery with the phone powered pull. Note that pressing the power button to turn off the phone does not erase these temporary files unless you press and hold until the BlackBerry presents, usually about 15 seconds.

    I hope that helps you.

    Hello

    Very strange problem
Have you noticed this problem from the beginning?

First check if your BIOS is up to date. Updated the BIOS if the new version is available.
In addition it would be recommended to update the display driver.

But if two updates don't change this, then I recommend you contact an ASP in your country. It could be a hardware problem.

  • After a minute to the power of the battery turns off my Satellite 1400

Hello! I need your help! Whenever I go to the power of the battery, all of a sudden, a minute later, my laptop turns off without reason! The battery is fully charged. What do you think is the problem? My laptop is 4 years old.
    It is a Satellite 1400.
    Thank you very much!

    Hi Krissy

In my opinion, everything that happens has a reason any. From your description, I think that the battery is at the end and should be replaced.

It may be that the battery is full, but there is not enough power. I have a similar problem with Tecra 9000. Unit is also about 4 years. On battery it maybe rolls 10 minutes but after that this time he switched down suddenly.

  • Electrify: Battery pull

Is there a combination of button pushes/shims that does the same thing as a true "battery pull?

Switch the phone off and then turn it on. But a real physical attraction of the battery is the only way to unplug completely if you what / need to do... you did it yourself.

The next closest thing is a Factory Reset.

In recent weeks, when using the laptop (Satellite L755 psk2ye) he died suddenly and the power and the battery leds start flashing simultaneously.

It also takes place when charging the battery when the unit is off... then l must cut off the power and he'll be back... Although the problem sometimes occurs again after a few minutes hours or does not...

Remove the battery and check if the same problem occur when you use laptops with power running.

  • New laptop password AC power to the battery when you play a game.

I got an IdeaPad P580 (i7, HDD 750 GB, 8 GB of ram, nvidia gt 630 m) a few weeks ago. A week ago I started having this problem where whenever I play a game, he's going off the AC power and the battery or vacillates between the two.

He did this in Grand Theft Auto IV, Fallout: New Vegas and same Minecraft. Sometimes even outside of the games, but this is rare. After closing a game once, he would be off AC for a few seconds every time I opened a new tab in my browser!

It doesn't matter what mode of energy that I use. The latest graphics drivers are installed. No matter if I use the Nvidia card or disable it in the bios and use the integrated Intel graphics card. I have tried everything I can think; I plugged the AC adapter into a wall directly instead of a surge protector, etc..

When the laptop is, there are three lights on the front under the touchpad. The two left are usually, but sometimes when it produces in the Middle it turns red.

If I remove the battery and just use the AC, the laptop just shut off after a second or two in the real game.

Someone at - it ideas? Nothing at all, even if you think it's a long shot. It of frustrating to buy a new laptop and then happen, especially since the problem with my old laptop has been playing games would cut (which was overheated, which appears not to be as it is not hot).

Hmm. you have no overclock your right to gt630?

cutting like that usually means not enough power is supplied by the power brick, or the connection is loose.

How many watts is the power brick?

If the power is firmly connected, first thing to do is call lenovo and ask them to send you a new power brick.

If the problem persists, you may have a bad mother power connector. It could be opening itself, or the connector on the motherboard.

How many times you plug and unplug the power cord? and you do it with force? If you are not sweet, the brackets that hold the power port may crack.

  • Presario CQ20-320TU: my notebook (presario CQ20) directly turn on when I plug in the power cord without battery

My laptop (presario CQ20-320TU) turn directly every time I plug the power cord without battery. What is the solution?

    Hi there @emonsonjaya,

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support! It's a good place to find the help you need, so many other users, the HP experts and other members of the support staff.

I understand that your notebook is turn on/off automatically when it is plugged. I'm happy to help you.

I would recommend that you look at your BIOS, especially in power options and check if your BIOS has a setting option on automatically. If yes it change at your convenience.  Another option would be to update your BIOS and see if that solves it.

Here is the page of support for your model and, if necessary, give it a try, it will automatically download the file if you click on the link. You then need to run the executable file of your current download folder.

HPQFlash for HP Notebook System BIOS (68PHU) - Microsoft Windows-Based

If you are having problems with an update of the BIOS, you can always restore it, using the following:

    I hope this helps.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones looking reboot / battery pull App for BES / what permissions are needed?

I tried to use again Me in my 9900, but is not compatible with BES. Not all the permissions the application, but it does not work. It just hangs. I asked the seller the necessary permissions, and they seem to be completely put out on this issue. They simply said of all the permissions must be enabled. On the right, as the computer SCIENCE Department will go for this.

I don't mind paying for an app if it works and if I can get a clear indication of what permissions requires.

If you use a reboot / battery traction app with BES, which do you use, and what is the permissions it requires?

I just found out that ALT BACKSPACE of RIGHT SHIFT causes a reboot. Now, I have no need of a battery pull application.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones [Torch 9860] cannot use internet (except browser) applications until battery pull

    Hello

I have a Torch 9860. I don't have a data plan, I only use internet applications over wi - fi. Occasionally, my camera is in a State where, despite being connected to Wi - Fi and see the BlackBerry logo in the upper right corner, the only internet application that I can use is the browser. The rest say I am not connected to the internet. A solution for this is to do a battery pull, but I was wondering why this is happening and if there is no way to stasrting it.

    Thank you

    gajariam

I forgot to mention that it started after that I bought a 1 day pass data from my carrier (Fido).

I contacted Fido and BlackBerry (via Fido) assistance and the ultimate solution was to buy a data plan that would solve the problem (my PIN has been set at idle on BIS).

To solve the problem, I did a "reset to factory defaults" via BlackBerry Desktop Manager and I have restored the last backup I had before I bought the data in 1 day pass.

My camera is in a State where applications operate in Wi - Fi 100% of the time

  • OP 6 problem blackBerry smartphones... Help, please. Battery pull does not resolve. Verizon. Sufficient free space.

Just installed op 6 and all in all, am pretty happy with it. The only problem I seem to have is that my themes are gone. My shows Desktop Manager to install them. Shows list of applications to be installed, but they are not found. When I change to another theme in options, the only presentation of theme is the theme of Verizon. Any ideas? I have a business theme that I like to use. This is for version 6 (she claims). Please help me out here. Thank you in advance... Jim

He didn't is no themes OS 6 available yet, even for OS 6 theme generator kit has yet been released yet.

Then, you're stuck with that for now, no amount of battery pull restarts will make your works of old themes and also done - I'd say remove them from the unit.

  • HP DV6-6B25TX turn off after 10 to 15 seconds, regardless of the power of the battery or power supply

    Hello

MY DV6-6B25TX is cutting off after 10-15 seconds, regardless of the battery power or AC power.

Here's the complete scenario of what happened in recent weeks:--

Two weeks back I was using the laptop with the power adapter is plugged in for charging, the battery got charged up to 99% then it stopped charging and display the battery icon text, "plugged in, not charging".

A return of the week, the battery was 20%, after plugging in the charger, always the same message "Plugged in, no charging current".

Now the laptop does not meet the key power when the battery is inserted.

If I remove the battery and back again, it starts without pushing the power button and turns off after 10 seconds, well before Windows starts.

She stops even on the Bios screen, OS is not definitely the question.

When I plug in charger and press the power button / stop, the same thing, i.e. starts and shutts off after 10 to 15 seconds, regardless of the BIOS or Windows startup screen.

I removed the ram and but again, but the problem still persists.

Also there is no issue of overheating due to dust, as I've barely used the laptop for a few hours, the phone is about 6 months and under warranty.

    Please advice ASAP.

    Thanks in advance.

Honestly, something prevents the battery charge. Computer laptop closing seconds after that reinsert the battery is a good indication the battery just is not getting charged. This could be a battery failure, charger, port, or in rare cases of charge motherboard.

Since it's under warranty, I recommend you contact HP support that there is no easy solution for this on the forums. It's a hardware problem.
