Power power on Satellite C870-1FZ problem

I use my laptop on WIndows 8.1 - 64 bit.

When the power cable and the battery are connected, the laptop just will not start. When I remove the battery and use only the power cable it starts and runs normally. It also seems that the battery does not load.

Who has a solution for this problem?

Hello

I m bit confused why the laptop does not power upward with battery connected.

Generally even if the battery would not charge due to the age of the battery, the laptop must turn on correctly.

However, if does not resemble the adapter would be defective because the laptop works properly using the main power supply.

That's why I came to the conclusion that the battery or card mother s electronic power supply could cause this problem.

As a new battery is much cheaper as a new motherboard, I recommend you to check the functionality of the laptop using another, compatible and good working battery.

I sent it to the Toshiba Service Center in my country, and they said "we must restore the recovery image", even if it's a hardware problem, not a software, and at the same time, I'm very busy and don't have the time to reinstall the entire system and software applications still.

    Hello

You can do the following: update your bios if not already done and then try with different operating systems (linux, windows, etc.) if the error reappears, then you should send your machine to the partner service and the statement that the error occurs independent of the operating system running.

Sometimes, they need a few comments otherwise they won´t anything...

  • Power on Satellite Pro 6100 problem

    Hello
I seem to have problems with my SP6100 power. It does not power on battery or plugged it in. The charger flashes, but trying to try to power on - it fails to do so.

Do you think it is a problem of motherboard or real power in MS? If so, please can someone point to me power supply model number to get a price?

    See you soon.

You have an older model of Toshiba, then perhaps internal Cmos battery maybe got pretty empty, too.

I don't think that your power supply has a problem, as you can see a light going ON, on your laptop. I suggest you remove the power cable from your laptop, remove the battery, too (push the cover on the side, so he's going to jump out of your laptop).

Now, without any connected power source, push the button to empty completely the remains of your laptop. Leave your laptop or else be plugged on it for an hour or two, and THEN reconnect your diet. It can show a message on the screen that the "RTC checksum is false", ignore her and start your computer normally. You will need to set the time through the windows again.

I hope that your laptop now works like new again ;)

  • Satellite C870-12F - problems after BSOD

    How is that even possible...

There are two possible reasons why BSODS happen.

    (1) serious software problem
    (2) hardware problem / fault

In the case of point 1) system recovery / laptop should solve this problem. But it doesn't have t
So, I think that, in your case, the material started to malfunction.

You want to know what part might not work.
Well, I think that these details can be provided only by an engineer who has already checked the aircraft and ran some diagnostic software.

In my opinion its HARD drive problem isn't. If something's HARD drive, unit turns on properly but would not boot the system.
Possible hardware parts that could be affected are: module of RAM or the motherboard.

RAM problems can be solved easily in replacement of the module, but for motherboard problems, the fix for laptop can be very expensive in case the warranty isn't valid.

  • No power to Satellite A30 PSA30E

    Hello

I have a Toshiba Satellite A30 (part No. = PSA30E-00E5-EN) laptop and recently when plugged in, the battery is not, in fact he tell Chargers.

When the laptop is turned off, if you plug the battery icon orange lights and charges of battery, but when you start the laptop to halfway through start orange icon battery turns off and the battery won't charge.

If you start the laptop just using the battery once it is in place and ongoing enforcement if you plug the nothing happening for example the battery charge orange icon does not illuminate.

The power is always on the laptop the screen stays on its setting of intensity, but the laptop turns off when the battery runs down to 0%.

I removed the battery and tried power the laptop just using the power grid, but the laptop does not turn on.

I got a new power adapter and it does not solve the problem and I even bought a new battery for your laptop but the problem still exists

The only thing I found on the internet is that the connector where the connector plug AC power adapter will has known problems, but I can't find anyone who has a solution on how to fix it.

Any ideas how to solve all the other ideas what wrong?

    > I have a new power adapter and it does not solve the problem and I even bought a new battery for your laptop but the problem still exists

If the new battery and new AC adapter didn't solve this problem, then I think his untimely motherboard.
Eventually it s power supply electronic malfunction or a similar problem.

I doubt that you can remedy. In this case (in the worst case) the motherboard needs to be replaced and it would be a costly affair.

What to say to boyfriend. I think that you could get in touch with the local ASP in order to test the motherboard or related parts.
Then you should get more details abut the question and what parts are affected.

    Reach:
Panel of-> sound-> the Read tab

You see your speakers or headphones here?
If so, make sure that the speakers are marked as the default device.

In addition the combination FN + F11 would turn on and off MUTE.
    Check it!

When two solutions of workaround don t help, uninstall the device high definition audio / controller as well as the audio driver from the Device Manager and restart the computer laptop n.
After restarting again the system should install the uninstalled drivers even more often, this will help you to get the sound.

To be honest, I bought for this calculated because of my good experience of the past, but will be more careful in the future.

Now I have to life with her in the past 800US.
The rest is OK - for now.

    > 1) issues with Bluetooth - machine could not find other devices and there are communication problems;

What Satellite C870-xxx you have exactly?
From my own experience, some models support BT and some don t so probably your device does support BT or you have done something wrong then that configuration of BT.

(> 2) I am very, very disappointed by the quality of the sound. The speakers are very poor. If I had known I wouldn't n buy it! Unfortunately, I have not had a chance to check it out and assumed Toshiba will keep minimum standards in this area. In the past (a few years ago)

My own different models of knowledge supports different hardware specifications. You can buy models of laptops with Harman-Kardon speakers that offer the best sound quality. This device seems to support standard speakers.
So it s always a question of value for money and in my opinion it is not too bad.

  • Re: Weird sound coming from USB using the Panel mixing Audio on Satellite C870-1EX

    Hello!

So, my sister has Satellite C870-1EX and she uses new Audio Mixer with integrated sound card sends its via USB cable to the computer (computer recognises as external audio device and map). It's the device: http://alesis.com/multimix8usbfx.

A few weeks ago, she began to notice a very odd sound, sort of high-pitched, whistling, like a very fast electronic beep. Something similar to what good old modems of the internet when they were connected to the phone line, just not a little faster and strong.

First of all, of course, we tested every single setting on the Audio Mixer Panel.
Then, we got new USB cable and it traded.

After that we also took down all the material, checked all cables, if necessary, detangle swapped the power supply, check a different recording software, even tried a few other recording devices USB etc etc.

None of this has helped. The drivers are all there too.

Here's the catch. I used the same equipment with the same settings on my computer and no hissing noise at all. The thing is, any parameter, we tried, only the hiss remains the same, nothing changes.

Even if you apply a few sound effects which should either accentuate or reduce any type of noise in the signal that is sent to the USB port on the computer, this whistling noise remains the same.

What worries me is that something is wrong with the material of my sister's laptop.

The noise does not appear if we use, for example, microphone that uses 3, 5mm taken or the built-in microphone of the laptop during the recording of the commands in the same session with the same software and similar settings (given some must be different because of the different entry).

However, the noise is if we use an external USB recording equipment on any of its ports.

Windows on his laptop were resettled some time ago (now it is on Windows 7), but the problem appeared a few weeks later.
As I said earlier, the drivers are all there and to date as well.

So, I hope that one of you will return with a software sollution (single)... and I hope we will not need to take his computer back to the shop.

However, as it seems now, the last is more likely to occur.
Please, tell me I'm wrong :)

    Thank you!

    Hello

One of my friends had a similar problem with a DJ controller: Traktor Kontrol S4
There was not a sound, but he noticed a few dropouts stuttering and audio.

The problem was the background processes that were open when you use the controller.
To resolve this problem, it was necessary to disable all possible devices in the device as WLan, LAN, Bluetooth Manager, etc.
In addition, he had to Disable Antivirus software and firewall that was running in the background.

    Hello

Your problem is a little weird!

Your wireless network card is a BT / WLAN combo and should be supported by the kernel used in openSuse 12.3.
Check the functionality in Windows or any other end Linux distribution?

I would say to download Fedora 19 and run as a direct medium OS to check the operation of BT.
If it works fine, I belive there is a bug in the distro openSuse.
If this isn't the case, I really think you should consider checking your hardware.

I have the same card in my works C850 and BT just perfect in Fedora 19.

    Hope this helps you out

  • Update on Satellite C870-1GD display drivers

    Hey.

I recently bought a new toshiba laptop.
I noticed that the AMD drivers are not supported directly and I need to download from here.

They do not seem to do the trick and I've always found these rather confusing support sites.
If my laptop is Toshiba satellite C870-1GD (pscbce-03c004bt)
    ([Link 1 | http://www.toshiba.be/nl/laptops/satellite/c870/satellite-c870-1gd/]: Dutch)

The Belgian driver for my mobile site gives these 2 drivers
    Intel: [link: http://www.toshiba.be/innovation/download_driver_details.jsp?LNG=10&service=BE&selC fulltext = 2 & selFamily = 2 & selSeries = 312 & selProduct = 747 3 & selShortMod = 3766 & language = 12 & selOS = 40 & selType = 11 & yearupload = & monthupload = & dayupload = & useDate = null & mode = allMachines & search = & action = search & macId = & coun try = 3 & selectedLanguage = 12 & type = 11 & page = 1 & ID = 88053 DISO = 40 & driverLanguage = 42]

So far, I've tested League of legends; works without problem (no update necessary driver)
But it does not even minecraft cause of no openGL acceleration. Which in my opinion is very weird

    Any suggestions?

In your case the situation is quite clear. Your model of laptop has AMD Radeo HD 7610 M GPU inside and last supported driver is always offered on the Toshiba download page. If you have this latest version that s it.

In any case, in the past, several people spoke of trouble with Minecraft. Put Minecraft as a search term in this forum and you will find several interesting discussions. One of them that you can read on http://forums.computers.toshiba-europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?messageID=282293

  • Crackling on Satellite C870-198

I just got a new Satellite C870-198 and the audio began to Crackle after about a week.

It seems to happen with external speakers, headphones as well as with the speakers on Board (i.e. all the time). Windows 8 has been frustrating me anyway so I installed windows 7 on it, but the problem is still there.

The cracks are more noticeable when the music I play is stronger. I tried to uninstall the sound drivers to try a few different, but they always reinstall themselves whenever I restart. I don't really know what I'm doing. Sometimes it makes a brief gurgling like electronic interference noise or something too.

    Any ideas?

    Hello

To be honest I'm not very well if the issue you described is really a problem of laptop because you said that you've probably noticed the sound of crackling playing loud music of m.
From my point of view, it could be a common behavior in which crisscross loud music.

You are using Windows 7 now.
On the page of the Toshiba UE (Satellite C870 PSCBAE) driver, you can find the audio drivers 3.
    Realtek, nVidia, SRS
    All drivers must be installed.

In addition, you can find edge settings in Control Panel-> Realtek HD Audio Manager.
Here, you can change the sound properties. Check it out.

  • How to remove the upper part of a key on a Satellite C870-C196?

    Hello

I would like to know if it is possible to remove the upper part of a key on a TOSHIBA Satellite C870 C196 to clean underneath?

I have a button that does not work properly.

How to go without anything break?

Is there a specific tutorial for this projection keyboard how?

    Thanks to you all.

    Kind regards

Tutorial so that it does not exist, but I can say, is that you can remove the plastic cap. It may be problematic to implement.
On older machines, it was quite easy, but on the new laptops equipped with flat keys, it is not so easy. As far as I know that each CAP is fixed with 4 pretty small hat holders must be fixed properly. to put all the 4 instead is not so easy.

I don't know what to say. You can try it, but on the other hand, I don't want to encourage that because you can damage something and in the end, you need to replace the entire keyboard.

If there is a serious problem, you can request the service of Toshiba for advice and ask for help.

    Hello

Last month, my broken laptop screen without no reason.

This screen is compatible with my laptop or should I look for one that is specifically made for my C870-15Z?

    I have a Satellite C870 - 155 (PSC8AE) and problems with the touchpad.

The buttons work, but not the pointer/trackpad.

The laptop was in need of a replacement hard drive, and I don't have any recovery media. I'm running a new installation of Windows 7 (Home Premium, 64-bit) vanilla.

I installed all the drivers, that I can find (including the touchpad).

I tried pressing F5 / Fn + F5, but this does not change anyuthing that I can see.

I am running the latest version of the BIOS I can find (6.60).

    Any suggestions?

    > Everything seems to work except the pointer.
I guess that s hardware problem and the touchpad module must be replaced.
I m straight probably because if the touchpad would be disabled or drivers that would be misunderstood, the touch area AND the touchpad buttons would not work.

In your case touch ONLY area/pad does not work, but the buttons

But just to be sure: go into the BIOS (F2)-> Advanced tab-> the system setup
Here you can check whether the pointing device (touchpad) is enabled.

  • On a series of Satellite A overheating problem

Well I posted this problem before thinking it was a problem with my settings of power and using drivers from ATI instead of toshiba, but the problem persisted and I managed to pin point the problem. Whenever I have my laptop running on battery its stone cold, but my battery doesn't last an hour if it is not very useful.
However, as soon as I plug it into an adapter to recharge the battery/run plugged my laptop starts to heat up quickly. Its got to the point where its hot sometimes I can't touch for longer than a second.

Any way to fix this at home or I should send this to toshiba for fixing?

When you connect your laptop to the network, the power management will be changed and your laptop will probably run mode performance. This means that all hardware components will run under full power.

In these circumstances, it is very important how you use your laptop. It should be placed on the desktop and cold air and grill must be free. Air must circulate properly. What you can try is to put your mobile PC to operate under the management of the balanced diet. The performance will still be good, but the equipment will not work with a maximum power.

Play with all these power settings. If the problem persists then I recommend you to contact your local dealer or nearest authorized service partner. They can check your laptop and see exactly what is happening. Sorry, but I don't see another solution.

    Good luck!
