PRE7: Strange disappearance of the setting in the Welcome screen button

Hello

I'm new to first Elements 7.

I have successfully created a video from my camcorder Samsung HMX-H105 MP4 file,

BUT on my second attempt, I see no Setup button in the Welcome screen.

As far as I remember the Setup button that I can change the type of video that I created - now every project I start is in 4:3 format and my videos from the camcorder are in 16:9 format. And everything seems streetched left and right.

Can someone tell me how can we retrieve the button Configure in the Welcome screen.

Thank you.

You will see setting up project presets when you start a new project, fast.

    Hello

A week or two ago, the non-administrator user account icons disappeared from the Welcome screen in Windows XP (32-bit home edition).  Also do they not appear on the list of user accounts.  However, their directories of files remain on the hard disk in Documents and Settings.  They can connect via CTRL ALT DEL x 2, but that's all.  If I try to recreate the accounts, returns the message "account already exists."  I searched the web for ages and many similar symptoms, but none reported patches work.  Any ideas please?
    Thank you very much.

    Matthew,

In light of the where you are, my next step would be to treat these users hidden like 'corrupt profiles' and try one of the several approaches that cover profiles corrupted.  The General method to recover a damaged profile is to create a new user and move all data of the corrupted user profile which has been created.  Once this was accomplished, the corrupted profile can be deleted from the system as well as the user name.  Follow the procedures described in either of the following items:

  • tiles Windows 8 app has disappeared from the splash screen

My computer has forced a reboot for an update today and after I back in all the tiles from the app (weather, photos, applications purchased in-store, etc.) had disappeared from the start screen, with the exception of desktop computers and store.   Nothing seems to be disturbed in desktop mode this just seems to be the Win8 apps.   I didn't install anything (with the exception of windows updates).   How to bring back these tiles?

Windows key + X, select command (Admin) prompt and type sfc/scannow and return.  If it detects and repairs system files, run it again until no error.

If this does not correct the situation, you must do a refresh install.

  • Windows 8 does not not to the Welcome screen and the start option advanced

I met a very strange situation.

    1. I first put my system into hibernation and walked away for a while. Then when I tried to turn on the system, it freezes at the Welcome screen. I tried the strok key (Ctrl + Alt + Delete) but nothing happened. I noticed that the ' FN ' on my laptop works very well! I could turn on and turn off the Wifi with them. But the system has not responded to all other keys and my touch pad.

    2. I tried waiting for the system to respond for a long time. When I noticed that the little light on my laptop showing the status of the HDD stopped flashing, I thought that the system could already went wrong so I hard reboot the system.

3 then, strange thing that happened:

    (1) first is the logo of my BIOS flashed on the screen and disappeared, which has never happened before.

    (2) then the system told me that he prepares the update. But I remember turning off the automatic update and I had not installed update before the system went wrong. Although I remembered that there is a warning to the login screen that there is some new important updates and I should install them.

    (3) the system is restarted automatically when the increase is 30%. After this reboot, the system maintains hang at as before welcome screen.

    4. I've tried several things and hard reset for many times but nothing has changed.

    (1) I tried to disable the quick start to the BIOS.

    (2) I've tried allowing CSM (disable UEFI in legacy mode)

    (3) I tried to press F9 to start and got into the advanced boot options screen. However, all there hang two! My keyboard and mouse are both inadmissible.

    (4) disconnect all connected to my laptop.

Then I'm lost. I can't repair or restore my system. I think that my keyboard works fine because I can change the BIOS setting to use. Now, I'm at my wits end with. Can anyone suggest anything?

    Update:

Turned history that I tried to plug my USB mouse to the laptop. It worked, and when I connect my USB keyboard that works too! But minutes after I logged on successfully to Windows, I got the WORKER_INVALID and restart the system.

I found this post which has almost exactly the same problem with me (I use an ASUS laptop too!). So I uninstalled my driver warned of the gesture, and then the system has not crashed over.

But my problem has not been resolved. I downloaded and installed the latest driver of ASUS and always found my touch pad and the keyboard does not. I also realize that even in a different operating system on my system (LinuxMint), my touchpad and keyboard will not work.

    To summarize:

Now I can use an external device (USB keyboard and mouse). But the built in keyboard and touch pad does not work. The latest driver for ASUS (ASUS Smart gesture) and ASUS ATK Package driver does not work. Strange thing is that when I open the computer, can I use my keyboard and even type in the Linux grub shell. But once the system got loaded, both in Windows and LinuxMint, the keyboard and the touchpad don't work.

Now, I suspect my BIOS went wrong, but I do not know and do not dare update the BIOS so recklessly. Any ideas?

    Hello

Thank you for the update on the question and good to hear that your problem is solved and everything works well after the replacement of the motherboard from ASUS. This information will help other members of the community to the same question.

  • Windows Vista hangs at the Welcome screen. Can anyone help?

From early December 2009, my Dell Inspiron E1505 said hung up on the 'Welcome' screen, leaving me stuck and cannot use the computer. It would do this every time I tried to start it. Since that time I switch Safe Mode and using the restore system to get it going again. Sometimes, I have to use restore the system several times to allow to start correctly. More recently, I learned that when it hangs at the Welcome screen, I can press "Ctrl-alt-del" and then my computer will load up the icons after about 10 seconds and then it is ready to go.

I finally started to 'Sleep' mode, and then it starts right up when I want to use it. The problem is that he sometimes stops for updates, or crash if I overload it somehow, and then it's a big problem, it'll still do. ... Well, now I can turn it on by pressing the "Ctrl-alt-del' when it clings to the host, but I don't feel comfortable making. I'm afraid that it will eventually mess worse.

I have not installed any new software or downloaded anything by email, with the exception, so I don't know what caused this problem. I have the feeling that something has been altered during the automatic update of windows.

Can someone please help me understand what caused this problem and what to do to fix? I need a walkthrough very detailed, as I am not a computer technician. My experience with computers is very limited, but I do not know a few basics such as obtaining safe mode, etc. My warranty with Dell has long expired. My computer is 3 years old. With the exception of this problem Windows Vista worked great shape. I liked Windows XP much better, but Vista was 'correct' that day until this problem came.

    Thank you: Jean

  • How to display all the users on the Welcome screen when returning from screen saver

In win7 when I return from the screen saver, the Welcome screen shows only the last user who was logged on and under that there is a button that says "change user". It's embarrassing for other users. In XP when you come back, screen saver, all user accounts would automatically appear on the Welcome screen. How can I get this to happen in win7?

In addition, the only purpose to use the screensaver is to get the Welcome screen to appear on the next action. Is it possible to get just the upcoming welcome screen after a period of time even without first having the active screen saver?
    Thanks in advance.

To first answer you last question: Yes, you can have the login screen appears without a screen saver.  Use the "nil" screen saver and you can still set a timeout of the logon screen.

Regarding your first question, I do not think there is a way to do it.  There is a policy setting, you can configure it to decide if the last user appears, but I think that it only works on the areas:

  • WITH video card driver, windows freezes after 10 seconds after the Welcome screen, WITHOUT a driver, it works fine

    Hi guys,.

I recently had the problem that when I start my computer, it freezes after 10 seconds when I saw the Welcome screen.
I'm in safe mode, it works perfectly fine. I have uninstall ALL my Nvidia drivers and then restart the computer in normal mode, and then everything works fine. I go to the Nvidia website again, download the latest drivers and the same freezing problem happens again. I also tried with older drivers provided by Nvidia, still the same problem.
Completely, I formatted my HDD and reinstalled Windows 7. I install drivers Nvidia and the same problem again.
    I have a Nvidia Geforce 250GTS
The processor is Intel Duo Core converted E6850 (boxed)

Everyone knows that the problem is?
Thanks in advance and sorry for my bad English, I tried my best :)

    Hello.

The video card drivers enable the features of the card to use.  When in safe mode or with no driver installed only the basic functions of the card are used.  If the card is faulty, which is more likely, the defective part of the map has probably come into play with the full drivers installed.  This explains why it works with the Basic setting.

    See you soon.

I have no familiarity with the program to be able to tell what to do.  If it's like other Adobe software, there should be a setting in preferences (assuming that there is an option) that allows you to dictate how the programs opens.

    Hi all

I have a Toshiba Satellite Pro U300 model no notebook 01900REN PSU31E purchased as new and connected to Windows XP.

It worked perfectly fine for about a year until very recently when it started freezing on blue welcome screen. I had to disconnect the battery because it has not proceeded past the blue welcome screen. I ran the antivirus avast but it nothing of the detected note. Now even when I disconnect and reconnect the battery the screen does not go beyond the Welcome screen blue even if the mouse is moved again, and occasionally the pointer arrow-pointer to sand-clock pointer initially and then rest as arrow-pointer changes. Pressing buttons, Ctrl + Alt + Delete, using the mouse or the battery are not any good.

I backed up things but not until recently. Please help me, I'm an amateur like these sorts of things, I'm English teacher from teaching professional so I really need materials and capabilities of the laptop. What should I do, please help!

    Thanking you in advance,

    Hey the view,.

Have you tried the same thing in safe mode? Go to the advanced boot menu by pressing F8, select Safe mode.
    Check it!

It of really difficult to say why this is happening but if it doesn t work I think that it s time to reinstall Windows. So take the Toshiba Recovery disk and boot from it. If you follow the instructions on the screen you get factory in minutes! :)
