Premium hp officejet 6700 "printer is busy" and won't print my devices Apple

Hello

I have trouble getting my wireless printing function works on my MAC (connected via wifi), iPad and iPhone (via wifi).  They worked fine until a week ago when I tried to add mmy 6700 to the google cloud print, so that my son could print with its new Chromebook.

The odd part is scanning works on my MAC (via wifi), but printing is not.  When I try to print a web page or a document, the opens the HP utility, connects to the printer and test printing it... will show "xx % feel" but never finished the work and up to 13% and, sometimes, witches 43%.  When I access the page to the printer from my browser and try to print the configuration page, it says "printer is busy - try again later.

Thanks for your help!

Hi PLinNJ and welcome to the HP Forum,

I understand that since connecting it to the Google Cloud Print, you have an impression of the issue of your Mac. I'll try my best to help you solve this problem.

I suggest power cycling network and if this does not solve then try to reset the printing system.

How to feed the cycling network
Follow these steps to reset your printer HP, your router and your computer.
1. press the power button on the HP printer to turn it off.
2. unplug the power cord at the back of the HP printer.
3. disconnect the power cord from the wireless router.
4. turn off the computer.
5. wait 30 seconds.
6. reconnect the power cable to the wireless router.
7. wait for 30 seconds, or until the router is completely ready.
8 turn the computer on.
9. wait for the computer to recharge.
10. reconnect the power cord to the back of the HP printer.
11. turn on the printer.

The link of Macintosh: reset the system of printing from Mac OS X

If this does not solve your problem to help you could you please tell me what Mac operating system, you're running?

I hope this helps, please let me know.

Thank you

    Hello untech,.

I see it's been a while since you have posted with us on the HP Forums.  Please, let me take a moment to say "Welcome Back".

I see that you have a problem with the printer l ' auto turn off and not turning it back on.

You happen to have the printer power cable connected to a power strip/bar?  If so, please try to connect the printers power cable directly to a wall outlet.  Here is a document that explains the problems when connected to an uninterruptible power supply/Strip/surge protector power.

The printer in the document is a LaserJet printer but this document is intended for HP products in general and only use the LaserJet printers for example.

I'll also include a document indicating when the HP printer will not be running or to respond when the power button is pressed.

If by chance the problem is not resolved after you complete the steps described, then I would say call the HP Technical Support to see all the other possibilities for you. If you call in North America, the number is 1-800-474-6836 and for all other regions, please click here: click here.

ALL OUT UPSIDE DOWN AND ALSO very small PRINT ON ONE SIDE OF THE PAPER HALF. HOW TO SET THE PRINTER SETTINGS BY DEFAULT OR CHANGE WHAT IS PAST?   Oh it then, I'm not yelling, just noticed the hats were on.

    Jay B.

    Hi @Jayburn,

    Welcome to the HP Forums!

I noticed that the back comes out on top down, when duplex printing with your HP Officejet 6700 Premium, Windows 7. I am pleased to see that for you!

Please, take a look through this guide, print on both sides of the paper (duplex printing) for HP Officejet Premium 6700 e-all-in-one printer (H711). Follow the instructions for Windows.

    Guidelines General double-sided printing

Do not print on both sides of the following types of paper, or paper jams may occur:

    • Transparencies
    • Envelopes
    • Photo paper
    • Glossy paper
    • Paper lighter than 60 g/m2 (16 lb).
    • Heavier than 105 g/m2 (28 lb) paper.

Several kinds of paper require a specific orientation when you print on both sides of a sheet. It's letterhead, preprinted paper and paper with watermarks and pre-perfores holes. The printer will print the first side of the first book. Load the paper with the top edge first and the side to be printed facing downwards.

    I hope this helps!

  • OfficeJet 6700: Printer wrong paper and economicus jam

    Hello.

First I'm sorry for my bad English, I hope that you will understand me.

my printer suddenly started to take the book evil and cause a jam whenever I feel.

I cleaned up the jam, checked for any other piece of paper inside and reset to the printer.

In addition, when I finally managed to make a document correctly, when he attempted to reverse and print on the other side, it jammed again.

is there something I can do or should I go and buy a new one?

    Thank you!

    Ohad.

  • OfficeJet 6700: print in black only

I am wanting to print in black only. I removed the color cartridges printer doesn't like that we

So, how can I disable the color cartridges?

    John

    Hi jozz71,

If you are wanting to use the black cartridge for printing, you can follow step 2 in this document to change the print settings to print in black and white:

    http://support.HP.com/us-en/product/HP-OfficeJet-6700-premium-e-all-in-one-printer-series-H711/4322971/document/c04331666

Please be aware that you don't need two ink cartridges to print.  The printer uses little color for printer maintenance.  This interview is described in the document I have attached.

Once the color cartridges is completely exhausted you must replace it in order to print.  After this setting the printer to print in black and white will minimize the used color and make it last longer.

I hope it's useful for you.

  • HP Officejet 6700 Premium: HP Officejet 6700 Premium No. no power no answer, unless that stood on the end

So I have a HP Officejet 6700 Premium which was working fine and suddenly stopped working. The power module is fine, green light turns on, well verified. I tried all the inane suggestions on the HP support site so I know the plug works, feeds the power supply module, but the printer power button is unresponsive. Opening the door or lid elicits no response. Totally D.O.A.; That is until I can't stand the printer on the end (discovered this while preparing to throw it across the room). If I am standing at the printer at its end it sometimes suddenly turns on and starts his routine of self-control (too long).

Everyone knows this issue or know a solution? The printer is out of warranty and when I called HP support they told me to throw it away and buy another. Clearly, it seems that something is just loose in the field of food, because when it is vertical, it seems fine. I don't mind to pay to have it fixed, but the support rep seemed indifferent in the repair of the printer option.

    Hi @Alpha_Beta,

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support! I see that you are facing some hardware issues on your HP Officejet 6700 Premium. It does not, until he is on his side. You have contacted the technical support and the printer is out of warranty.

Try to perform a hard reset:

    1. disconnect all cables and cards of memory in the printer. Unplug the power cord, directly from the back of the printer when the printer is still on.

    2. unplug the other end of the power cord.

    3. If there is a power supply on the power cord, disconnect one end and reconnect it.

    4. at the end of 60 seconds, plug it directly into a wall outlet (not a surge protector or battery backup because they can cause the printer to lose over time basic functionality).

    5. connect the power cord to the back of the printer.

    6. the printer should automatically power back upward. If not, turn it on with the power button.

    7. try to make a photocopy (if your printer is a printer all in one) before you connect the cables from the printer.

    8. connect the other cables needed to the printer.

It work? If you are still unable to use the printer as it is more under warranty I would contact them and look at all your options as it is not a repairable part. As you say electric sounds, something inside.

    I hope this helps.

Thank you for being a part of the community of HP. If you want to say 'Thank you' to my effort to help, click on the "thumbs up" to give me a Kudos.

  • HP OfficeJet 6700 prints page 2 upside down when you select double-sided printing

Product name: HP OfficeJet 6700 Premium

    OPERATING SYSTEM: OS X 10.8

    * Latest firmware installed

    * Installed drivers from HP

Printing works fine, except that when you select print double-sided on the back page is backwards.

I tried using the 'Long' edge and "short edge binding", but it's not changing anything. Yes, I save the settings.

It works OK under Windows 7.

    Hi Geert,

Sorry, it supposed to be 'Sign', have no idea how it came as such a typo in

Update of the OS before the Officejet is not enough, these updates are owned by the operating system.

The HP update printer driver is also provided via Apple Software Update, an update, you did before having unit did not have the HP update as there was no HP devices connected to your Mac, so please be sure to follow these steps both to update the drivers of HP.

  • Wireless laptop can not find the wireless Officejet 6700 printer

My laptop can't find my wireless printer Officejet 6700.  Printer is on the wireless network but the laptop cannot find it.  Laptop the wireless.  Have cisco router on my NBN skymesh satellite.  Have you tried printer setup in the control message panels reads:-printer is not found.  Using windows 7.  Have tried to use scan doctor, turning his router unpluging printer and electrical power to the router. Still no luck.  Printer is about 1 meter portable.  Do I have to set up a home network and connect like that.

If you can easily plug the printer into the router using an Ethernet cable, who always beats wireless!  Try it!

  • HP Officejet 6700 printer all in one

My computer - PC Toshiba laptop - will recognize not my new HP Officejet 6700 as default printer - print word documents well but others it only allows me to select the right printer to print - the combo box to select the default printer lists not my printer and in the Printers window it won't let me choose the 6700 by default even if the 6700 is registered.

I use Windows Vista (32-bit) and the printer is wireless - which seems to work very well (fax, scanning, printing of the word).  I'll try the link you posted and see if he can diagnose the problem.  Thank you

  • HP Officejet 6700 Premium: HP Officejet 6700 Premium - Wireless scanning problem

We cannot get the scan wireless to work. Everything works fine when we connect with USB cable. Any suggestions?

    -J' use Mac OS X 10.10 Yosemite.

-J' tried to reset/upgrade to firmware update.

-J' tried to reset the printers Mac, delete, add again.

-I choose Officejet 6700, not AirPrint.

It turns out, the problem was with our router. Even if we can connect to other printers on this router, we couldn't connect to HP 6700. Switching routers helped.

  • HP Officejet 6700 Premium: HP Officejet 6700 Premium - missing or has no print head Error Message

THIS IS A MUST READ! COSTCO ROCKS! I bought my HP 6700 just less than 3 years after the explosion of ink everywhere inside a different HP printer and stopped working on me. (Which I thought was my fault. Now, I'm not sure.) A week ago, I started getting the error message "printhead missing or defective. I have tried everything what he has proposed and managed to make a few more before copies he refused to do more. I had online in the hope of finding a solution and found this forum and all the people, swearing to never buy another product HP because of this obvious 'planned obsolescence'. I had just replaced the ink cartridges twice, which showed how little I used it, but I had it for 3 YEARS so I thought I'm screwed!  I was angry against HP and I wanted to do COSTCO know they should stop selling their shit. I called COSTCO and spoke to a young woman and asked if they had had a lot of feedback on this model. She asked her supervisor, and he said a couple, but not something unusual. I said on this forum, and how they probably had not heard anything because most failed right after the warranty expires! She said "well bring back! I said 'What?'. «» Bring back! ", she said. I managed to stifle the "but, but, the guarantee was until TWO YEARS ago! She said "we worry not about the manufacturer's warranty. We want our customers to be happy with everything they buy at COSTCO! ». It's as simple as that.

    I repeat. COSTCO ROCKS!

Now, if everybody who bought this printer from COSTCO back it when (not so) it breaks, even long after that the warranty is up, and COSTCO may be sending all back to HP, HP will begin to worry that annoy me COSTCO is a bad idea. And then maybe the poor people who have bought their printer elsewhere will begin to get an appropriate response to their complaints. I hope this post doesn't fighting flag and delete for inappropriate language. I tried to keep PG :-)

The post you mention is here.  It was launched in 2013 and has 110 responses.  The thread was completed four months ago and responses are more accepted there.

  • OfficeJet 6700 Premium: HP Officejet 6700 suddenly will not print wireless

I used my printer with my iMac, iPhone and iPad wireless with no problems, but today when I want to print wireless suddenly nothing happens. When I check the printer queue to see what the problem is, everything seems fine, it says: "printing - the printer is in use", but nothing happens in the printer. I clear the queue and you try to print a PDF document, a website, an email... but the printer does not have one of this command. I check the wifi conection and they are both connected to the same network. I am able to print the status report and the network directly from the printer Configuration Page.

I have run out of ideas of how to solve this problem, apart from the connection with the USB cable, which will solve the problem of computer printing, but not from mobile devices.

Do you have any sugestion for this problem?

Easy things first. Power off the printer and the router. Turn on the router and wait 3 min. turn on printer and check that it connect to your router. Try now.

  • OfficeJet 6700 Premium: HP Officejet 6700, black ink fades

I had my bonus of 6700 Officejet for over a year, so it's just more under warranty. About 3 days ago, out of the blue, the black ink started fading out if I printed a page with a lot on it. It does the same thing if I copy something. (I'm only printing in black). It acts as the ink runs not to the head, or heads are partially blocked upward. It's a new cartridge, but it worked when I first got him. I cleaned and aligned the head several times, without success. Thing I can do short of buying a new printer?

In the paper here troubleshooting steps can help solve the black print is not correctly on your Officejet printer 6700.
