Prevent the screensaver and wake up from sleep

Is there a way to "Cascades" to prevent the screen saver? I am also interested in waking up the device and disable the screensaver from code.

There's this way to do natively:

int idle_mode = SCREEN_IDLE_MODE_KEEP_AWAKE;
screen_set_window_property_iv(screen_window,
    SCREEN_PROPERTY_IDLE_MODE, &idle_mode);

But I hope that there is a more pleasant way to do likewise to the waterfalls or Qt?

From my code here:

    onKeepAwakeChanged: {
        // This should be keepAwake ? ScreenIdleMode.KeepAwake : ScreenIdleMode.Normal
        // but the enum is broken in QML
        Application.mainWindow.screenIdleMode = keepAwake ? 1 : 0;
    }

The comment may be outdated. If this isn't the case, of course use the enum instead of hard-coding the 1 and 0.

You could do this in C++ too, where the enum will work certainly, but of course with a slightly different syntax.

    Hello

    Here's the quickfix.

    Set the laptop to sleep instead of Hibernate. Portable computers may have problems with the Hibernate function. Here are the instructions to navigate:

    1. go in Classic view of Control Panel. (Ctrl + ESC, then type 'control' to quickly control panel access)

    2. double-click on the icon power options

    3. click on "change when the computer sleeps.

    4. click on "change power avancΘs."

    Go to the menu of sleep and

    value "Allow hybrid sleep": OFF

    * Set the parameter "Hibernate after": NEVER

    Note: You need to type the following in the field, what is not there drop down to select.

    This is most likely the issue and the resolution. However, here are a few other troubleshooting steps if you have any questions:

  • Alienbware X51R3 with S2716DG from Dell doesn't wake up from sleep mode

    I recently bought a new Alienware X51R3 and Dell S2716DG Monitor. The PC happened a few weeks earlier from the monitor, and the system worked very well (and wake up from his sleep normally) on the old monitor.

    After setting the new monitor (executed in a single monitor configuration) on the display port, the PC is no longer waking up from his sleep. I tried to update the driver for the monitor and turning off the monitor 'Deep sleep' works without success.

    It worked fine with the previous monitor so I think that the monitor is most likely the culprit but haven't found a solution or work around yet. Power off the PC everytime I walk away from it or disabling sleep seems completely unnecessary.

    The Dell Support program help hard locks - the PC every time I launch...

    After a little violin, I was able to adjust the settings for PCI Express Link State Power Management from the command line with:

    powercfg 381b4222-f694-41f0-9685-ff5bb260df2e 501a4d13-42af-4429-9fd1-a8218c268e20 ee12f906-d277-404b-b6da-e5fa1a576df5 0

    Dear all,

    I had a work around for this problem. By adding "usb.autoConnect.device0 ="0xVID:0xPID"" this statement to the VMX file, solves this problem, that is, whenever the VM is wake-up by clicking on the link CV or using vmrun commands, it connects the unit in question automatically and it is charging correctly with his driver. Obtaining smart card detected after sleep\hibernate with no problems.

    VID & PID is respective ID of the device that can be seen in the properties of the Device Manager "Device Instance path".

  • Suspend problems in mode: don't wake up from sleep

    Hello!

    I just installed Windows 7 to my HTPC. Media Center is great!
    But I have a problem. When I put my computer to sleep he wakes more. In fact it isn't even sleep properly. It seems that everything is turned off but the graphics card. There is no picture but the fan is screaming. He is unresponsive to the buttons of the mouse or the keyboard. Even the computer power button does not wake up or restart. All I can do is press the power button for a while to make the computer stop. I have a Logitech wireless set with PS/2 Sockets. I rechecked all power management settings already. In the BIOS are enabled all supports the ACPI and wake up PS/2 support. I can't understand how to fix it!

    For this afternoon, I tested Ubuntu 9.10 and had similar problems there. In Windows XP sleep works very well, however.

    My transactional includes:
    AMD Athlon 3200 +.
    Asus A8V - XE motherboard
    Kingston 2GB DDR
    GF 8600 GT 256 MB
    Seagate Barracuda SATA 250 GB (for BONES)
    WD Caviar 750 GB SATA (for data)

    Now, I found that it is the USB controller who refuses to go to sleep. There is a hidden feature in Windows 7 that you can use to find problems in the energy saving modes.

    In the command prompt, give a command:
    powercfg-energy
    and it will generate a report on the problems in your system. The report can be found at /Windows/System32/energy-report.html
    My report has revealed that there are two or three USB host that cannot be suspended correctly. After disabled USB support in the BIOS of the system had no problem in sleep. Of course I can't use USB devices more.
    Is there some kind of fix or tweak for Windows 7 USB drivers? Windows shows it has the latest drivers if I try to update.
    My motherboard is Asus A8V - XE, and there Via K8T890 chipset.
    EDIT:
    I found an answer on this thread: http://social.answers.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/w7performance/thread/8059106b-21e2-4d17-bf2f-513a5b5d1d0b/
    Apparently it wasn't a USB socket that wasn't able to sleep but a USB device. I had a USB Memory Stick and the infrared receiver plugged and after removing their sleep works very well.
  • HP Pavilion G7 1320dx: G7 Notebook never wake up from sleep

    Hello everyone, I recently did a clean install of Windows 7 on my laptop. It is a G7 Pavilion 1320dx laptop with Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit. I thought that everything worked fine, but lately I noticed that whenever I close the laptop and he goes to sleep, on the reopening of the laptop, the rest screen is completely black and I have to hold the reset button, or it starts to display "windows have not stopped correctly" and forces me to restart in any case I've tried a few options and I'm tired. I've updated the BIOS, tried a hard reset for 30 seconds with the battery removed, checked several drivers etc. If anyone can even possibly provide some insight on this issue, I would be very happy!

    Hello:

    The only suggestion I can offer would be to see if installing the AM Chipset Drivers solves this problem.

    You want the 1st file listed on the Web page.  Install and reboot the PC.

  • Satellite U300 falls down and cannot wake up from sleep mode

    Hello

    I got a Satellite U300 a few days and I get in trouble, when the laptop goes into sleep mode.
    The thing is that when he goes to sleep, the screen turns off but the light stays on (blue), instead of flashing with an orange color.

    It is not possible to wake the portable computer, and the only solution is to restart the computer.

    I tried the different possibilities to enter sleep mode, and I get the problem mainly when the computer is in high-performance Vista and when you press the stop button in the quick menu.

    I know Vista gives a certain a lot of problems, but I didn't know anyone here who face the same problem.
    Should I send the laptop back to technical support?

    Thanks in advance,

    I had the opportunity to work a little with several laptops from Toshiba, and one of them was Satellite U300. After a brief check of the basic functions for laptop I can say with certainty that switch between mode and standby/hibernation mode work well and I didn't notice any problems.

    I really don't understand what is wrong with that, but please do:
    -If you want to switch to standby mode, choose option using the button START.
    -Wait a bit and I hope after a few seconds, the laptop will change automatically in standby mode (blinking amber LED)
    -Close the cover
    -Wait a moment opened the lid and press the power button
    I really hope that your laptop will start correctly and you will be able to use the OS again.

    Good bye
