  Here's the quickfix.

  Set the laptop to sleep instead of Hibernate. Portable computers may have problems with the Hibernate function. Here are the instructions to navigate:

  I had the same situation; started during the upgrade to Yosemite, continued with El Capitan. I tried a n y t h i n g for a few months, revisiting the forums etc. The message in the system log, leaving the "driver GPU seems to be suspended. Does my Mac Pro completely unworkable. • 10 updated Windows now HP Pavilion won't wake up from sleep

  Since I upgraded to W10 this week, my laptop now wake from sleep.  I searched on the net and so far cannot find people having problems with their laptop in standby.  I followed the advice of one of those on the HP forum, update a driver, that I thought could not wrong.  It made no difference, however.

  When I come to wake my computer, which was always simply lifting the lid, now nothing.  The power indicator lights up in solid and wifi lights up orange (as opposed to his usual white solid while the machine is running).  Other than that, noting.  No tapping of pressing or screen button any it will not bring to life, and the only solution is to hold down the power button to force a complete stop and start again.

  Can be only 3 days into it, but it's already driving me crazy.

  If you bought the Apple MBP, not a reseller, you can return the MBP for an Exchange or refund within 14 days of the date of purchase.  Otherwise, I suggest you have the MBP valued at an Apple store genius bar and repaired if necessary under the provisions of the warranty.

  Since buying my PC a few months ago, it has been one of the ' display' problems after another. This is the current problem:

  When executing step by step away from my computer, I block via Win + L and shortly after that my monitor turns off. When you return a few moments later, I try to wake up to the top (but not really "wake up"...) I press the power button and start the computer to the login screen where as soon as I get my password, Windows loads and all my programs etc appear like they were before I blocked my PC.

  Previous problems I had:

  (1) when the awakening from hibernation, the computer would not wake up screensavers leaving no way for you to connect and save your work. Hard reboot needed. Solution: Disable hibernation Windows features.

  (2) error in the sense of "driver has no display and recovered." Possible solution: disabled hardware acceleration in Firefox.

  (3) when waking from sleep, I find that my 2 monitors have merged into one and a different resolution than usual. Once entered password to connect, programs that were on separate monitors are now on the same monitor. Right click on the desktop and selecting 'Screen Resolution'-> 'Detect' would set monitors to return to normal until the problem recurs. Possible solution: updated graphics driver. Don't know if this problem has been corrected, it may have just been concealed by the new problem mentioned above.
