my printer just started suddenly printing on the side instead of horizontally.  Printing is much larger than what it can be.  How can I change to print normally as it enables upwards & downwards on a piece of paper 8 x 10?

    Hi Ray,

You can configure the printer to print the (horizontal) Portrait or landscape (on the side) in the default settings  or for a particular document.  The document level setting will override the default level.

    Document level setting

You can select Portrait after clicking Print in the dialog box of the printer for a document level setting.

    Setting the default level

    Click on:

Start |  Printers and devices.  the icon of the printer (right click) |  (left click) Printing options

Under Orientation, you can choose between Portrait or landscape mode, and then click OK.  Don't forget and choose the regular printer and not the fax printer.  Who help me?

Welcome to the Community Forum of HP.

Are you saying that your printer is printing in Landscape Orientation?

If this is the case, then perhaps the following will be helpful:

Manage the print with preview output before printing

    See the section above on

    Printing options

You accidentally left the printing in Landscape Orientation options.

If this is the case, change your page layout tab > Orientation Portrait or automatic

  • HP officejet 4630 will not print on both sides of the paper

Unable to print on both sides of the paper. The backsideprints first, then wait for the ink to dry, front end starts to print then stops with a windows error message popping up on the screen saying cannot print the document.

I found that I can't print multiple pages either. For example, I decided to print the document of 4 pages in the form of simple pages only (since double-sided would not work) and the results were first page print second page prints on a third, and then just stop with error message this printer cannot print the pdf document. If I had to select each separately page to finnally get all four printed pages. HP print and scan diagnosis says theres no problem. Windows diagnostics says there is no problem.

Obviously there is a problem can offer advice and the solution?

    Thank you

    Kimoho

    To all,

Thanks a lot for your suggestions. I would like to point out that the problem was solved and printer works fine.

The solution is one of the two things?

First, I opened the windows firewall and allows all applications and processes to pass through. There may be a few dozens of them, some have been verified and how some have been blocked. I checked all except those who started with 'remote '.

Second, I went on the printer software and returned the IP address of the printer. It was the same as the IP address, but somewhere on the microsoft blog, I read that windows and routers sometimes lost the IP address. That's why I'm re-entered.

I don't know which of these fixed the issue, but one of them did.

    Thanks again

  • How to print on both sides of the paper with deskjet 9800

    Hello

I'm trying to print on both sides of the paper.  I have a deskjet 9800.  I select two sided, but it will print one page after another.  Even pages are 'upside down '.

    Would appreciate help with this.

    Hello

I think that it is an old printer and it MUST have a duplex unit to be able to print both side automatically if yu have to print manually (turn inside papers yourself):

  • print on both sides of the paper

I have a Brother printer that is capable of printing on both sides of the paper.  I have 10 Windows and the version of Adobe Reader X installed 10.1.15.

My function for printing on both sides of the paper is no longer appears on my screen printing options.  I can do this on other applications, Word etc.

    Any help would be appreciated

    Hey leathac52847786,

Do a selection for printing on Both Sides option is the features of your printer, no drive.

You may need to make sure your printer supports duplex printing and this feature is not cut.

Please consult the following KB link doc and see about the same:

    Double-sided printing. Acrobat, Reader

Let me know if this helps.

    Kind regards

When I print a page of text or an image to be in color or black and white about 1.5 inches on the right side of the page, the black part is dimmed.  I tried to shake the black toner, but nothing has changed...  Should I replace the black toner?

I see that you have some problems with printing faded on the side of your impressions of your printer Laserjet M277dw range. I can help you with that.

To start, make sure that the printer is plugged directly into a wall outlet, not a surge protector. Once completed, this document describes How to solve print quality problems with your printer.

  • Print on both sides of the page

For printing on both sides of the page, the instructions say to FLIP on LONG EDGE or RETURN on SHORT EDGE.   WHAT WOULD BE THE CRITERIA FOR THE REVERSAL OF ONE WAY OR THE OTHER?  I'm printing docs on 8-1/2 x 11 paper. 1 set of docs is 14 unique pages that I could turn it into 7 if I could print on both sides.

Instructions more tell - printer is will automatically load the back paper to print on the other side. Someone please help me understand these instructions?  Thank you.  Judy

    > to FLIP on LONG EDGE or RETURN on SHORT EDGE.

This difference is important if you want to print portrait vs landscape.

For the first case, you usually run flip on the long side, on the side.

  • Designjet t520 36inch spit long paper instead of print

Product is HP Designjet T520 36 "tracer. 36 "roll paper installed.  Printing from Adobe Acrobat, maps of large size, print to 35 "x 60". Sending of print on the drawing board causes the plotter spit a large white paper instead of print. Do you receive an error message.

Help ~ it's wasting a whole roll of paper! There is no way to cancel or suspend the plotter when it feeds large blank sheets instead of print.

We tried different settings. Updated the firmware today. Very frustrated ~ can someone help please?

I solved my problem by determining there was something wrong with this particular PDF. As another PDF of the same size and similar content files have been feeling very well, I'm focused on PDF export process.

This 'problem' PDF was created in ArcGIS. To resolve this problem, I have re-exported a new PDF, using graphics tablets vector (deflation LZW) and rasterize all symbols;  the new PDF print very well.

ALSO, for anyone who uses Pipelogix with ArcGIS, make sure that your toolbar does not work properly. If you get the toolbar alerts, remove the toolbar and start a new session, before exporting a PDF file. This may sometimes cause the problem I mentioned above.

HP Laserjet 500 colorMFP M570dn reflecting the situation of "on paper", but the paper is present. Effects of several operating system platforms; 10, 7, 8.1, 2012 R2 server.

We have this printer is installed on a server for printing on 2012 R2 server configuration. Everything works fine until today. The status on the side of things, regardless of the OS, OS shows the printer status is "on paper". Paper has been confirmed in the printer, cleaned rollers, test pages, copy made, etc. When you submit a print job, the State remains the same, just, the job is in the queue and does nothing.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    CRI_IT_guy

When the software indicates out of paper, it's really tell you he lost communication with the printer. It could be a server problem.  To test since you already know that the printer works would print a printer configuration page and using the printer ip address set up on top of one of the computers as a local tcp/ip printer without going through the server, so the computer prints directly to the printer.  If it works, then your issue is network or linked servers.  Make sure that the address of the printer has not changed and also make sure that the spooler is running on the server.
