Printer (Canon Pixma MP480) do not print

My Canon Pixma MP480 won't print on my computer, but print on other computers that do not have Vista. I installed the driver several times more directly from the cd that came with it and directly from canon website. I am registered under an account to administer. It is directly connected via a USB port. The strange thing is, it's an all-in-one printer, scanner, copier, and it allows me to scan images on my computer. When I try to print a document, it times out. No error message appears on the printer LCD. It works on my friends computer that uses windows XP... My operating system is Vista 64 x.  If anyone has any advice I would be recognizing an email to

Have you try to download the latest driver for your printer from Canon?
Make sure that it is the Vista x 64 bit driver when you download and install.  Remove the old driver completely and restart the computer before the upgrade to the new driver.

    I have just printed/copied paperwork this week!

    It absolutely, positively, not light.

    I bought this last semester, which would have been around January or February of this year.

    It has not been moved, the circuit on the Strip, to which it is connected has not been triggered, everything must be in perfect working condition.

    How can I go about it? Reset somehow? Send it for repair? Do a dance and sacrificing a Nikon?

    Help please. I will need very soon for the school.

    I unplug for a bit more than two minutes and did not return.

    Now, at the beginning when I was doing the instiallation, he says that he has failed. But I turned the printer and turn it on again (hah...) after failure and we are back online and print. So I don't know if the firmware updated succeeded. But the printer works again and that's all that matters for now!

    I recommend to restart the print spooler service and check if that helps.

  • Canon Pixma MP480 won't communicate.

    I tried to uninstall - re - install, restart, remove the drivers, d/l later on canon website. I ran the printer fix suggested by Microsoft. No luck at all...

    The question that I have is that my printer will not communicate with my computer. Does not print a page of test after installation, does not read the amounts of ink, does not display an error. The printer works on my other XP and Windows 7 ran the computers. Just not my vista. When I proceed to print a document, it actually stops to communicate with the printer and does nothing else. He would remain like that for a year if I didn't not cancel printing. Any suggestions?

    You are able to use all the other devices usb on your computer?
    Try the methods below, one by one and check if that helps.
    Method 1: Disconnect the USB device, wait about five seconds, and then plug the device into the. If you use a hub, unplug the hub, wait about five seconds, and then plug the concentrator in.

    Method 2: If you use a USB hub, try to use the device without the hub. If you make sure that the hub is the problem, use one of the following methods, depending on your scenario:
    o If the external power supply for the hub is not connected correctly, connect the external power supply correctly.
    o If there are too many devices plugged into the hub, disconnect devices.
    o If the hub is not working properly, you may need to replace the hub.
    Method 3: Remove and reinstall all USB controllers
    To remove and reinstall all USB controllers, follow these steps:
    1. click on start, run, type sysdm.cpl in the Open box, and then click OK.
    2. click on the Hardware tab.
    3. click the Device Manager button.
    4. develop Bus USB controllers.
    5 right-click every device under the Bus USB controllers node and then click on uninstall to remove them one at a time.
    6. restart the computer and reinstall the USB controllers.
    7. connect the removable USB storage device and test to make sure that the problem is solved.

    I also tried the USB Setup. It seems to work but I still get this error: "program could not load the required component and it will put end. Please reinstall your software." I uninstalled the software several times, shut down the PC, reinstalled the software, all to nothing does not. I can see the printer in the devices with the usb or wsd drivers Manager, but it is not available to any program.
    Setup has failed by using the disc that came with the printer and the file downloaded from Canon: mp68-victory-mp5400-1_01 - ejs.exe.

    There are for this. Go to the website and download the driver you need.

    To try to resolve the problem, you'll want to confirm that the inkjet nozzles are distribute the ink properly by printing a printer nozzle check pattern.  If the model does not print correctly, we recommend you to at least cleaning and deep cleanings on the printer to try to get the printing ink.  To print the nozzle check pattern and make cleaning, please follow the steps located here.

    All of a sudden my Canon Pixma iP1700 does not feed the paper in rolls.  It seems to be a blockage on the right side of the roller.  It keeps telling me there is a paper jam, but I know it does not exist.  The printer worked fine until this week.

    I suggest to go through these steps and check.

    Method 1:

    This is due to the UAC. Disable UAC will help because UAC prompts the user the permission to continue, the time required to get the question and answer that cause the printer to turn it off.

    If you do not want to activate UAC you can call EnablePrinter when the capture of the EnablePre() event generated by the driver.

    Note: User Account Control (UAC) can help you to prevent your computer from unauthorized changes. It works by asking permission when a task requires administrative rights, such as installing software or changing settings affecting other users. We do not recommend disable user account control. If you turn it off, you must reactivate as soon as possible.

    Uninstall the printer driver, download the latest driver on the manufacturer's website, install on your computer and check.
