Lexmark Pro 901 lose communication with the printer prints intermittently. Disconnect, restart, or other ideas proposed by the help of Lexmark window do not work. Computer's desktop HP with Windows 7 64 bit. Have seen other reports of similar problem. Any suggestion would be appreciated.

The printer (Lexmark x 5470) cannot communicate with the computer (Windows Vista Home Premlum). I tried these solutions below, but it still does not:
1. ensure that the printer is powered.
2 disconnected then reconnected the power cable from the printer.
3 unplugged then replugged the USB cable.
4 checked Windows Firewall setting to ensure the communication of the printer is not block.
5. restarted my computer.

Have you just tried reinstallling your printer yet? Even if it was working before, file corruption or other problems can sometimes be cured by doing this?

I have a Lexmark Pinnacle Pro 901 printer I bought at the office supply store there are several moonths. I hung it, and it worked for a short period, then I got a screen prompt saying that there is no connection between the printer and the computer. I was on the phone and even authorized Lexmark technicians to have remote access to the computer 2 times. I've been on the phone with them about 10 times and had even them I would send printer back and they sent me new printer. I even had a friend local tech come and he has reinstalled printer drivers, each time, that it's the same thing, printer will work for one or two jobs and then stops printing. I can still make copies and yesterday I scanned and sent by e-mail a document, the Green WIFI light is on. I'm so frustrated that I just want to get rid of this printer. Help!

The printer worked fine with Vista Home Premium. Lexmark online support is said to enable two-way communication in the printer properties window. This option is not present on my computer.

You recently reinstall the operating system? If so, have you installed the drivers in the order?
How to download and install drivers in the correct orderFirst run delete print jobs to remove all print jobs stuck in the queue.
Unplug the printer.
Download and run the patch (cleaning printer utility) until it prompts you to restart your computer.
Restart your computer.
Now you can install the printer using the Dell Printer 924 disc.

Don't forget the programs anti-virus and firewall will block communications.
Also try this tweak...
Go into Device Manager (right click on my computer, left click Properties, material of the left click, left click Device Manager)
Go to the section USB controller, and then click the plus sign +.
Go to each USB hub root and right-click on it, on the left, click Properties, on the left, click power management. Uncheck the allow the computer to turn off this device to save power.
Restart your computer.
