Printing problem after export to PDF

When printing directly from InDesign, all right.

When exporting to PDF and print then get the question below. These lines of text are supposed to be the exact same color. On the first picture as you can see that he blue print, on the second it printed a light shade of gray.

Here's the interesting part. If I "print" to PDF via the print menu and then proceed to printing as PDF all right.

It is not specific, as has happened before, it also happens in several places on the document page.

Using CS5.5 on Windows 7 64 bit, all programs are up to date.

Any suggestions?

Looks like the driver is having a problem with ligatures. Your doc don't seem too good, but try the wide of ligatures in ID and export a new PDF and see if this one will print.

> Then, I rebuilt my system font cache. Still no luck. (Deleted FNTCACHE. (DAT)

Not a good thing. You should only remove Adobefnt.? LST files and only when the? is in double figures.

  • Text moves after export to PDF

    InDesign CS5 (7.0.4), Mac OS x 10.6.8

    See the screenshots for clarity.

    From InDesign.pngFrom Acrobat.png

On the left is my InDesign file, on the right is my created PDF file by choosing export > Adobe PDF (Print) > Adobe PDF presets: print quality with bleeding.

It is two paragraphs in a text box. Why is the part of the first paragraph moves? It looks like a movement of the massive base was put on.

Just try something else. I tried with different fonts, move the copy. I retyped it in a new text box, move the copy. If I do not use the dash character (the dagger), the copy don't move here (HEY, A CLUE!) So why don't the Indent here character cause the copy to move throughout this paragraph and not in the other 30 + instances of this file?

To do this job to the printer, I copied the areas affected in a new layer and hide this layer, then in the first layer, I have only converted text in vectorised text boxes and sent them a new PDF.

    Any idea would be appreciated.

Message was edited (spelling and new test info) by: FergyMac

    BINGO!

This page is another area of text on it which is causing the problem. Two text boxes overlap. When I move the OTHER text box to the top layer this problem disappeared!

Thanks Peter and Eugene for me to walk through it.

  • Problems to export to PDF with ID 5.5 - specific symptoms

I hope that my problem symptoms are specific enough so that someone will have a good idea of what is wrong.

I have several files of chapter I use to create a file of single directory, I create the pdf file of. Here's what happens:

    1. when I click on the "print book" icon at the bottom of the address book window, ID will crash.

    2. so, instead, I click on the drop down at the top right of the window and select "export book to PDF.

    3. now it generates a pdf file but in the file pdf, some pages are with a single page of the ID file and some have two pages on a single PDF page, it appears very randomly.

    4. to work around this problem (or so I thought) I went to the preparation of the document ID and deselected the checkbox 'facing Pages '.

    5. as soon as I do, the header on the left side and the foot of all pages in this chapter to offset to the left. OK, so I'm going to the master page and realign.

    6. now export again in the way described above and the page numbering is all messed up in the pdf file. Even if the ID file (source) 6-1, 6-2 pages, etc. in the PDF each page will be marked as 6-1.

Any help on this will be greatly appreciated! I use Windows XP.

First - steps 4 through 6 are unnescearry - I recommend you go back to the original provision.

If the problem persists, try to select individual documents in the book to export to PDF or print. It may be a specific file at the root of the problem.

If some pages are coming as 'spreads', then you must have facing pages in documents and unique pages in another document or something? I recommend that you disable spreads in the PDF and print settings.

It's a little uncertain about the structure of your document - and your document sizes. What are the dimensions of the document in all the individual chapters. Can you post some screenshots of the book panel - with each file in chapter (just a single or the spread of a page (s))

When you export the pdf file, I see that my destiny:

  • Undesirable Anti-aliasing after export to PDF!

    Dear community,

First of all, let me tell you, I'm relatively new to indesign.

It's really driving me crazy: my boss gave me the task of renewing our business cards (no new provision, just different names and addresses). So I got the indesign file my predecessor did and changed the names and contact details. The indesign file contains three sides back to three different people, each with their own QR code.

I made three new QR codes, removed the 'old' and brought the new po those (codes were initially PNG, I put them in Photoshop and exported in the form of PSD because I heard, I should use PSD files in ID instead of PNG or JPEG).

When exporting to PDF, two of these QR codes are works fine, the third has the following problem: on the edges of the code, light gray thin lines appear, to my untrained eye, these look just as anti-aliasing. These only appear in the exported PDF file, not in Indesign itself and that in one of the three QR-codes, even if I created and imported them all the same way.

I probably should mention, I did 50% transparent codes. I already did a lot of research about this issue and has said that it is a bug that has been fixed in ID CC 2014, so I updated my ID for this version, imported the corrupt PSD, still the same problem.

What I did wrong with this PSD file in particular? Could there be a button or something, when I have the psd selected in the iD, which activates / deactivates AA on and off that particular file?

I've added two pictures. 1 is one of those who do not all problems, the second is one that has some anti-aliasing, unwanted (or whatever it is). I just did the screenshots in Acrobat, because this forum won't let me download the PDF files. As I said, they both come from the same ID, exported file the same way.

Thanks in advance for your kind help.

    Right.pngWrong.png

The problem was caused by downsampling. The resolution is higher and you down tasted with the wrong method, also, you used grayscale or CMYK or RGB image, in this case a 1 bit image would be the choice. But the best is to use the feature ID QR.

  • Printing problems after the installation of Windows Live Essentials update

I am running Windows Vista 64 Home Premium version and had been successfully using an all-in-one HP PSC 2355 printer until yesterday, I installed Windows Live Essentials. Photos, in particular, never get to the file printing.  The TEst Page from Windows printer shows printer is installed correctly. Have tried to reset the printer (unplugging / plugging) without success. Have not found new drivers for the printer.  What should I check before I agree to replace the printer?

Thanks for your suggestions.   I uninstalled WLE and my printing problems seem to be resolved.  Not really sure how useful WLE was and I received the long ok without it.

  • Strange problem Script - export in Pdf format

    Hi all.

I have a very small page with three text boxes.

I have a small number of incopy I am circulating in text files.

I use the attached script to export to PDF.

The script takes the contents of the 1, 2 and 3 box on every page and create a file name.

Export works perfectly, except for one very annoying thing.

The page that contains the first line of each incopy file is not using the script correctly.

    ex.

correct on almost each export filename =-[0]-[2]-[1] .pdf

the page that contains the first line of each place file = filename-[1]-[2]-[0] .pdf and it ignores all the rules of replacement.

Any ideas? It's so random, that I can't understand the question.

    Hello

Your script is that he assumes order of managers of related texts is frozen.

I you have modified a doc - i.e. removed some area, then recreated - you change order of boxes of text as well.

Then pages seems always the same but order of area of text is changed and - i.e. - textFrame current [0] is [2] previous linked text frames

To see the current managers of related texts order on a specific page - open the layer panel. It goes from the top to the bottom of the list ([0]-[1]-[2])

Your script assumes a management related texts (displayed in the layer panel) order as

    • container paraString3
    • container paraString
    • container paraString2

Check if your reason for incorrect export is coming from above.

Movement of executives related vertically (on the layer), you can set this order as well.

  • The sample buttons display with blue background after export to PDF. Why?

So much for InDesign to make my life easier by creating forms...
I dragged and filed a 'checkbox' sample on my workspace. The second area is wider, because I want the 'clickable area' is greater than just the button. There is no pigment not set here the color of the ticks/crosses. All seems well until I have export to PDF (usual interactive options) and it's kinda ugly background behind the buttons!

I checked other 'States' and none of them had color in them either... so where is this ugly blue color coming from?
See the diagram below to see what I've done... Thanks in advance for any help - it's driving me crazy!

It is part of Acrobat to highlight areas to fill out a form. It can be disconnected in Acrobat, look in the help file for these functions to do with forms and areas to fill.

Unfortunately, everyone will have their own settings in Acrobat, I don't think you can do this defect, it will be little matter how people have their set Acrobat in place for discovers of interactive PDF documents.

  • Problem of hyperlink after export to PDF

I came across this problem with a link out of a lot last week and never understood how to fix it. Now, I have a document with a single link, and the link does not work properly. The link is clickable, but brings me to a 404 error page, although the link works fine in Word and Outlook. This is a members only site so nobody here he can go, but I've included the link below:

    https://Netforum.avectra.com/eweb/DynamicPage.aspx?site=MAPI & WebCode = EventDetail & evt_key = 1 10cd 302-3f15-4017-b4d1 - 3930 has 4356218

I wonder if the change to CS6 changed how hyperlinks are converted, or maybe if I unconsciously changed something in my settings? I can't imagine it's the latter since I use a "Preset" and if I had changed something, it would have "(modified)", but I'm also in a loss. Once the document is converted to PDF, the link becomes:

    https://Netforum.avectra.com/eweb/DynamicPage.aspx%3FSite%3DMAPI%26WebCode%3DEventDetail%2 6evt_key % 3D110cd302-3f15-4017-b4d1 - 3930 has 4356218

  • Printer problem after Windows XP updates on 06122013

Title updates: Windows XP original on 06122013

Updates of Windows XP on 06122013 seemed to make me lose contact with printer HP LJ1200 and had to perform the restoration of the system to 06112013 do work again. The printer is set up as a parallel device, running on Port DOT4_001 (according to article of Port in the properties of the printer) and was removed in the LPT1 Device Manager and computer rebooted and reloaded LPT1.
Tracking the whole Troubleshooting MS system under properties and nothing seemed to allow printing, so I restored the machine on the eve. Now the printer works.

Computer is a Xeon E1395 of double a ASUS PC - DL Deluxe Intel

Everyone still faces a problem of printing with the new updates?

    Hi Michael,

I see you got a problem with printer HP LJ1200 after installation of updates recently offered from Windows update.

What exactly happened when you were trying to print after the recent updates? Have you received an error message?

Thanks for the sharing of information when you perform a restore as solved the problem.

This issue would have occurred as a result of updates related to the printer or the additional updates to the hardware device connected to the computer. Sometimes, when these problems occur after Windows update, we should always check the specific updates that have been installed right before the problem occurred. In this way, we can identify the update that caused the problem.

As the problem does not persist now, I suggest you to download and manually install the updates individually to determine the exact cause of the problem.

Please let us know if you need help on this question.

  • Problems to export a PDF file in CS2

Hello world. I just started a new company, a few weeks ago and took a computer from the previous person. My work computer is a PC running Windows XP, 3 GB of Ram, running InDesign CS2. When you export an InDesign document to PDF, it will sometimes create 2 PDF files; a pdf file that is the name I typed and another in the first few letters and a ~ at the end. The pdf that I named will be a blank PDF, 0KB in size, and the adobe reader software will give me an error. The other pdf will be opened very well but have a funny name (for example, instead of greatwork.pdf, it will be grea ~ .pdf). Anyone know what could be the cause? I checked the edits (even if it's a few versions behind) and not all were available. What should I do? I asked the hardware and latest software, but it is out of the question for now. Thanks for any help!

Just be aware that sooner or later you will run into problems more running CS2 on what that is later than XP SP2.  Also tell your boss that you're stuck in a light chain of time, and if they do upgrade to CS6 or later they get upgrade prices.

  • Ink Manager and print postscript vs export in PDF format

    Hi all

I have a question about using the ink Manager to convert PMS to CMYK colors.

I have a file of ID with a placed in it eps.

the eps uses a spot color so that the color pulled in ID.

If I use the ink Manager to convert it to CMYK, and then export the file to PDF, it works very well.

I find myself with a PDF file with 4 plates: CMYK.

However, our print production department prints very files then distills (I know, I know. "It's out of my hands!)

The PDF file includes plate spot for the color I had converted in the ink Manager! (And the color is used, it is not a blank plate or just the registration marks)

If I look at the separations in the ID file, I have only 4 plates. No spot colors.

So why the task of color will come back in the distilled PDF?

in distiller, go to edit settings pdf settings

Then under the color is the option convert to CMYK or leave color unchanged.
