Problem installing XP SP3

I am running XP Media Center SP2 on an old HP Pavilion AMD Atholon.  SP3 has been installed, but underwent an important announcement problem had to go through the recovery.  Whenever I am trying to reinstall SP3, XP does not except in safe mode.

SP3 appears to install correctly, but the problem continues to occur. When I remove the SP3 in safe mode, the computer works fine.

  • Satellite A200-PSAF3A cannot install XP SP3

I have an A200 - PSAF3A laptop computer which came with Windows vista, but also a disc provided by toshiba downgrade to XP. I used the disk and followed the instructions to downgrade to XP Prof SP2 successfully.

I am now trying to install XP SP3 as an update and it progresses the installation in the "back up the registry ' step and then fails and I get a message"service pack 3 put up error".»

I used the information on the microsoft Web site trobleshooting and none of these solutions have solved the problem. (BTW - there is another 20 XP SP2 updates that also won't install!)

I would like to solve the installation of XP SP3 - all the tips would be appreciated.

    Thks

    Hello

I doubt that there are those who might say why you could not install SP3.
Fact is that the installation of SP3 should functions and it s any laptop you are using. It is not in the laptop!

In your case, I recommend to clean the BONES and the registry using CCleaner.
Then you must download the full pack of SP3 and it need to store on the HARD drive.

After which allows to launch the update exe

  • Satellite P300-133 - problem installing Win Xp

    Hello

I have a problem installing win xp to Satellite p300-133.
To resolve this problem, I have tried the solutions:
switch to ahci mode in bios and incorporating storage drivers compatibility intel to the installation cd xp with nlite, but none of them solved the problem.

Laptop computer starts from the cd of xp and xp installation says "program Setup inspects your hardware configuration" and then a blank black screen comes.
After that, the installation does nothing and waits indefinitely.

Any ideas on this problem? Thank you.

    Hello

    > switch to compatibility ahci mode in the bios and the integration of the storage drivers Intel to xp with nlite installation cd, but none of them solved the problem.

    The two methods are good!
You can install the Win XP without drivers Intel Storage Manager (SATA drivers) but in this case the SATA mode must be on compatible mode.
    It works for sure!

The second method is the installation of the SATA drivers with nLite (drivers can be integrated into the new drive Win XP).

I put t understand why this doesn t work on your laptop. I think it's a problem with your Win XP drive. Contains this Win XP SP2 or SP3?
If this isn't the case, then you should use nLite to include min the Win XP SP2.

    Check it!

Yes, I'm familiar with your recent discussions on this particular computer as well as the fact that he gave to your son as a used computer. Be so familiar with the history of this computer, I feel confident in saying he was already infected when he gave your son.

I fear that the only way to get this computer secure and fully patched to Windows Update will be formatting the hard drive - and then do a clean install of Windows.

Since you don't have the disks that originally came with the computer (and assuming that the original owner would have given them to you when gave you the computer if there were), we must assume (or at least to cross our fingers and hope) that there is a hidden restore partition that could be used to return the computer to the condition it was before first it left the factory. I can assure you that can support Dell & will help you, if not directly through the Dell Community forum:http://en.community.dell.com/support-forums/desktop/f/3514.aspx

  • BIOS update problems. After SP3 update, I got the BSOD and cannot be run in Mode without failure.

Yesterday I went to the AMD site to download the latest version of the BIOS.  I installed the SP3 for XP and got the BSOD but no details, only four error codes after the Stop 0x0000007e.

Registered under a WinZip BIOS and when I opened it, it was defined as a file of VLC media player, which seemed poorly, and as a text file, which seemed wrong.  Earlier, but I had been able to open it, then run, and then he said that I had to stop so he could activate.  So when I said if turned off, the system said, hang on, it's not over and if you stop now, you may lose files.  So I waited, nothing happened.  So I did it again, and he says that you want to uninstall, suggesting it was already installed.

If it has been installed, it has obviously had no effect on my BSOD problem.  Only, I can boot into safe mode since I've upgraded to SP3.  And a question he says might be the problem, it's a BIOS updated.

Have I not two BIOS?  One for the CPU and one for the motherboard?  I went to update my ASUS MB, but who could have got WinZip number, not the AMD BIOS for the CPU.  Anyway, still getting the BSOD.  And when I started, I don't think that the version of the BIOS has changed.  But I could check my version against the latest versions, and I'm seriously out of date.

    I have an AMD Athlon 64 X 2 6000 + 89v.

    Motherboard is ASUS M2N-SLI-Deluxe

I really don't think the updated BIOS updated.

  • IPod Classic 7 G 160 GB ' there was a problem installing this hardware: Apple iPod USB Device ".

    I have recently (June 2014) bought a brand new Ipod Classic 7 G 160 GB Model A1238.

Whenever I connect via USB to a PC running XP SP3 and Itunes V10.0.7.2 it is always treated as if it were a new connection, i.e. "new hardware found". After trying to install it, it says so "cannot install this hardware" and "there was a problem installing this hardware: Apple iPod USB Device."
I have also a 2009 16 GB Ipod Nano 4 G model 1285 and this is recognized by the PC whenever it is connected through the USB port itself.
I connected the Ipod Classic 7 G to a laptop running Vista and Itunes V10.0.7.2 where the Ipod is recognized and installed.

Even if the PC States that there is a problem installing the Ipod, it still appears in Itunes and I can download music to it and disconnect by using safe mode disconnect.

PC XP SP3 - Ipod Classic
I watched "Device Manager" under "Drives", the Ipod Classic is listed as an "Apple Ipod USB Device", but has an exclanation score against it.

Right-click on the 'Apple Ipod USB Device' properties and the "Volumes" tab it shows the drive with the exact name and the size of the data, by clicking on the properties of "Driver" tab it says 'Unknown' driver provider, driver Date and Driver Version as being "not available". By clicking on the "Driver Details" properties, it shows a driver file-

    C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\PartMgr.sys, File Version 5.1.2600.5512 (xpsp080413-2108).

Under "Device Manager" USB controllers, there is an entry for "Apple Mobile Devices USB Driver" and a "USb Mass Storage Device"

The 'Apple Mobile Devices USB Driver' lists two drivers:
    C:\WINDOWS\System32\Drivers\usbaapl.sys and
    C:\WINDOWS\System32\usbaaplrc.sys

The "USB Mass Storage Device" list a driver:
    C:\WINDOWS\System32\Drivers\USBSTOR. SYS

PC XP SP3 - Ipod Nano

I repeated the steps above with the Ipod Nano, connected to the PC and the driver provider is presented as Microsoft with the driver as 07/01/01 Date and Version of the driver as 5.1.2535.0.
In the "Driver Details" properties, it shows TWO driver files:

    C:\WINDOWS\system32\DRIVERS\disk.sys AND meanings
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\PartMgr.sys.
At the same time with the Version of the file 5.1.2600.5512 (xpsp080413-2108).

The 'Apple Mobile Devices USB Driver' and "USB Mass Storage Device" are the same as for the Ipod Classic.

I followed the procedure to remove Itunes and even the update to Itunes to V11.2.2 nothing works.

I am aware that the system is also that XP can now be updated.

So, why not not Windows Installer Ipod Classic and why the disk.sys driver does not appear

According to the details of the pilot?

Is the 7 G Ipod Classic not compatible with XP SP3?

Yes it is compatible with XP SP3.

Try asking in the forums of Apple iPod:

    https://discussions.Apple.com/community/iPod/ipod_classic?CategoryID=204

Running Win XP Media Center Edition.  Had minor graphical problems at the top of the IE bar periodically endangered.  Decided to remove the Intel (r) 82945G Express Chipset adapter in Device Manager and then do a scan for new hardware.  And now I get the message of the new hardware detected that says.

    Cannot install this hardware

There was a problem installing this hardware:

Intel (r) 82945G Express Chipset Family

An error occurred during the installation of the device

    Access is denied.

I am connected to the computer as an administrator.  I tried to install this even in safe mode and get the same error above.  Any clues on what do I do?  The computer runs only in VGA mode.

    Thanks in advance.
