Same windows utility troubleshooting cannot solve this problem. Please help...

  • Acer Aspire 5100 Windows 8.1 problems (64-bit)

    Hello Acer users,.

    my mother has an Acer Aspire 5100 and is happy with it so far. I installed an SSD hard drive and Windows 64-bit from 8.1 to it (fresh). Now, she is very happy that the machine is very fast. Allthough there are new problems that accompanies the installation and I'm not happy with them. They are as follows (all drivers related questions I guess, no driver in Windows update or on Acer site):

    1 - memory card reader does not work and does not appear in the Explorer. Device manager shows 3 x peripheral problem which are the memory card reader. Which brand is?

    2 - WIFI does not work (says network adapter), have not yet tried to download and install the drivers from the website of Atheros, will try this next time I visit him. Poster 1 x peripheral problem device manager which I guess is the WIFI because the machine can access internet through wired adapter.

    3 - display is fixed (cannot be changed) at a resolution of 1024 x 768 and it can do better, but can not be changed. Downloaded and installed Catalys control center, but this has changed a lot and I do not see anywhere to change the resolution from there. Only several screens etc.

    4 - adapter displays in the Device Manager to 200M and it should be Ati Radeon Xpress 1100?

    But other than these problems, Windows 64-bit of 8.1 works great and especially with the SSD is very fast. And can recommend to you all =)

    Well, if you can help me on this issue. I guess that Acer can not make drivers before they get the manufacturers driver.

    Hello

    Thanks for posting your query to the Microsoft forum.

    I appreciate your efforts to try to solve the problem and I will definitely help you with this.

    BITS may stop if there is corruption in the Windows files, we can try these methods to solve them.

    Method 1: Run SFC scan

    I suggest that you can exercise SFC scan and check if that helps. The sfc/scannow command analyzes all protected system files and replaces incorrect versions with appropriate Microsoft versions. It is a Windows utility that allows users to find corruptions in Windows system files and restore the damaged files.

    See the link: use the File Checker system to repair missing or corrupted system files

    If this does not help, follow method 2.

    Method 2:

    Please try these steps below and check:

    1. Press the Windows key on the keyboard
    2. Type command line
    3. Right click on and run as administrator

    Step 1: Run the following command at the command prompt with administrative mode.

    SC create BITS binpath: "c:XwindowsXsystem32Xsvchost.exe - k netsvcs" start: delayed-auto

    Step 2: Run these commands one by one in the box RUN or 'Command Prompt'

    regsvr32 oleaut32.dll

    regsvr32 jscript.dll

    regsvr32 vbscript.dll

    regsvr32 msxml.dll
    regsvr32
    softpub.dll
    regsvr32 wintrust.dll

    regsvr32 initpki.dll

    regsvr32 cryptdlg.dll

    regsvr32 qmgr.dll

    regsvr32 qmgrprxy.dll

    Step 3: Restart computer

    You can also download the Windows 10 from the link below and check.

    Download Windows 10 and run the installer from the desktop.

    Note: I strongly recommend to back up all your important files and folders on an external storage device before performing the installation.

    Please post back with the results. We will be happy to help you further.

  • Silverlight has install problem-64 bit PC with win7 32 OS installed

    Trying to help a friend with Silverlight.  She has a portable 64-bit with Win 7 32 installed on it.  Websites with Silverlight request installed Silverlight even if it is installed.  I did a number of installs / uninstalls.

    I removed the registry and suggested somewhere else such directory information.   However when I uninstalled Silverlight I noticed also that the registry and directory information was missing.   This suggests that installs it Silverlight is not broken.

    The first question - is he's having a problem installing Silverlight on a 32 bit running on a 64-bit computer OS? (I did the installation of the OS :>)

    If I need to upgrade the operating system to the 64-bit version upgrade takes all existing programs to be reinstalled?

    If the 32 / 64 mix - up is not the question so what step should be taken next?

    Thank you very much for the help.

    Hi IAmAPC,

    64-bit computer supports 64 and 32 bits of the operating system on it. To run a 64-bit version of Windows, your computer must have a processor 64-bit capable.

    Silver light is compatible with 32-bit and 64-bit processor and operating system. Windows X 86 or x 64 1.6 gigahertz (GHz) or higher with 512 MB RAM

  • new installation of cs6 32 and 64 bit on a pc windows 8.1 file association problem 64 bit

    If I have 32-bit cs6 open, then click on a psd file, it auto open in 32-bit software which is nice. However, if I have no instance of CS6 open and click a psd to open, it will always open the cs6 64-bit software, which is annoying and I would always shoot the 32 bit.

    I also tried a file associated with the psd to the cs6 32bits exe, but when you click it it opens however the cs6 64 bit... frustrating

    any ideal?

    I think that if you use regedit and find the Photoshop.exe key you will find the default to open and edit programs are set to the 64-bit exe.  Try changing them 32-bit exe, that's what my Windows 7 registry key look like. You would replace both of them to something like:

    "C:\Program Files (x 86) \Adobe\Adobe Photoshop.exe" '%1 '.

    You have some plugins 32 bits in a third installed, is - why you want the 32-bit version to start

  • display problem 32-bit tif

    Maybe someone can enlighten me. I've been playing with HDR in Photoshop and found files to do 32-bit of the .tif files if you want them to be visible in Lightroom. I create the .tif files using the profile ProPhotoRGB.

    However, in LR photos looked pretty bad - highlights are blown and colors are too saturated.

    If I convert the image into 16-bit in Photoshop and save as a .tif 16-bit it shows in LR exactly as I see in Photoshop.

    Thinking it might have to do with my process of creating an HDR file, I just open a raw file in Photoshop and saved as a 16-bit .tif. Viewing in LR it corresponded to what I saw in Photoshop.

    I then took that same raw file, converted into a 32-bit file in Photoshop and then saved as a .tif file, and once again the LR view matching is no longer what I saw in Photoshop - the highlights are blown and the colors are too saturated, while she clearly had nothing to do with my HDR treatment.

    Can someone explain why the 32bits .tif files do not match what I see in Photoshop?

    I think I found the answer. Read Eric Chan (Adobe in English) answer here:

    http://feedback.Photoshop.com/photoshop_family/topics/lightroom_preview_of_hdr_tonemapped _ image_doesnt_match_what_is_shown_in_photoshop_acr #reply_13709665

    LR automatically apply tone mapping 32-bit files whether they are HDR images or not, as in your case.

  • Problem with bit of JavaScript that DreamWeaver is writing

    I'm having a problem with the code that DreamWeaver (CS3) is written. I'm fairly certain that the problem is in a small piece of JavaScript code that is compose of DreamWeaver.

    It is a pretty complex problem, so patient with me.

    First of all - what I'm trying to move: when a page on my site (the - oilman.com), I want a link that opens a new window in the store online at another site (AMSOIL.com). I need to leave the page on my site open and open this page "keep". Firstly that it works fine, using the 'open window' 'behaviour' in DreamWeaver. If someone wants to change windows (or tabs) and return to my page, also - leaving the window 'save' the problem is set up to occur. If back on my site, you click this account or a different link that goes back to the 'Bank' on the same page or on another page to AMSOIL.com - the "Save" window goes to the correct page, but "store" window does NOT come up on top. When they click on a link to return to the 'Bank' I need 'store' window to get to the top. If they have previously put something in the basket and come back and add something to the cart in the "store" coming from various links on my site that the 'Bank' works correctly because I leave it open all the time.

    snipets of code that DreamWeaver wrote for my site (the - oilman.com):
    head:
    < script >
    <!--
    CSAct [/ * CMP * / '129AABC1'] = new Array (CSOpenWindow, / * URL * / ' http://www.amsoil.com/redirect.cgi?zo=52257 & page = store ', 'store', 0, 0, true, true, true, true, EU tr, true, true);
    CSAct [/ * CMP * / '129AAC63'] = new Array (CSOpenWindow, / * URL * / ' http://www.amsoil.com/redirect.cgi?zo=52257 & page = store ', 'store', 0, 0, true, true, true, true, EU tr, true, true);
    CSAct [/ * CMP * / '10D39F40'] = new Array (CSOpenWindow, / * URL * / ' http://www.amsoil.com/redirect.cgi?zo=52257 & page = storefront/sso ', 'store', 0, 0, true, true, tru e, true, true, true, true);
    /
    function MM_openBrWindow (theURL, winName, features) {//v2.0
    Window.Open (Theurl, winName, Features);
    }
    ->
    < /script >

    Code 2 different links using this script:
    "" "< a href =" http://www.amsoil.com/redirect.cgi?zo=52257 & page = storefront/sso " target ="store"onClick =" MM_openBrWindow (' #', 'Bank', "") "" csclick = "10D39F40" > buy now < /a >
    "" < a href = " http://www.amsoil.com/redirect.cgi?zo=52257 & page = store" title = "AMSOIL Store to AMSOIL.com" target = "store" onClick = "MM_openBrWindow ('http:www.amsoil.com/redirect.cgi?zo=52257 & amp;)" "" page = store', ' stor-e ",""")"" > on line store < /a >

    I think what I need is a javascript longer. Instead of just "window.open" I need an 'if', but my knowledge of javascript is very, very limited.
    I need to check if the window called 'keep' is open then 'focus', or if it is not open to open the window named "keep".
    This will fix my problem? If so, please help me to write lines of code to do.
    If this isn't the solution, what is the problem and the solution?

    A separate but related matter: If you look at different links in the two codes, in calling one of them uses a page reference "null" and another repeat the full link of the href = attribute reference. Both seem to work, but which is the right or the preferred syntax. My guess is that there are some browsers this will give a problem, but where is the favorite.

    Don Dawson
    mailto:[email protected]

    Thanks for the replies. I solved the problem. Because of a storm called Fay who dumped 20 "of rain here - power came out internet for days, road cut in 3 places to get out of the House - it is low priority for a week.

    Yes, I have quoted wrong snipets that had some left over code Go-Live, but it was not causing my problem. I had worked in the from pages before Go-Live and new pages in DreamWeaver that all did the same thing.
    The small piece of script that DW wrote that left me the problem:

    function MM_openBrWindow (theURL, winName, features) {//v2.0
    Window.Open (Theurl, winName, Features);
    }
    //-->

    The necessary patch adding a line to the function (and I don't know there are a number of other ways to do it too, but this one seems the most simple):

    function MM_openBrWindow (theURL, winName, features) {//v2.0
    Focus on the shop window
    toTheStore = window.open (theURL, winName, features);
    toTheStore.focus ();
    }

    'Design' DW CS3 mode itself left me short. After setting up with the "Design", I have to go to the 'Code' and correct.

    Thanks again to all who watched and considered my problem.

  • Win7, installed on the RAID1 does not work Windows Update and messneger (SID problem)?

    Hi, first of all the machine description

    OS: Win7 Pro 64 bit Original and new
    MB: ASUS P7H57D-V EVO
    Processor: Intel Core i7 860
    RAM: 4 x 2 GB Corsair XMS3 CMX4GX3M2A1600C9
    Graphics: Ati Radeon HD5670
    HARD drive: 2 x WD GP 1 TB - 1 x Seagate 1 TB

    Problem: a bit long to explain...
    I first tried to install the OS on a RAID1, so initially I set raid in the bios with the 2 WD1Tb, then I created the table and I started the installation.
    WIN DVD it recognises the table, it starts installing, it made the first reboot, when is close to finishing it gives an error that cannot complete the installation. I spent 10 days trying to solve the problem without result.
    So I decided to work around the problem, I installed the operating system on a single hard drive, then I cloned the HDD for the RAID1.
    Everything seems to go well but... Update Windows and MSN Messenger will not connect, as having a problem of equality SID.
    If I clone the installation of work, everything works on a different disk included WIN UPDATE and Messenger.
    Cloned on the table, right.
    The table is correctly recognized by WIN7, I downloaded the latest drivers from the Asus MB site, but the problem remains

    What can I try?

    Thank you to everyone

    If 'update of Windows and MSN Messenger' [AKA Windows Live Messenger] are not connected, the chances are it is a network problem. And then...

    1. what application or antivirus security suite is installed and your current subscription?  What anti-spyware (other than Defender) applications?  What third-party firewall (if applicable)?

    2. If Win7 64 bits is pre-installed on the computer when you bought it, a free trial Norton or McAfee came preinstalled, too? (No matter if you have never used or activated).

    Original title: Windows Update will not install on the new load XP

    Hi all

    Thanks for your replies.  Sorry I didn't answer sooner, but he got late last night, and I got to reregister the Qmgr.dll and Qmgrprxy.dll BITS files.

    I clicked Start, click on run and typed the command following, and then click OK:

    Start, run and in the run box, Type regsvr32 qmgr.dll, click OK.
    Start, run and in the run box, Type regsvr32 qmgrprxy.dll, click OK.

    I was then able to start the updates.  There are 124 updates, the Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 Service Pack 1 and the .NET Framework 3.5 Family Update for versions of .NET 2.0 to 3.5 (KB951847) x 86.  He downloaded 124 updates, but even once asked me to insert the disc for qmgr.dll when he was installing the 10th update.  I find the qmgr.dll file again and pressed OK, but it seems to hang forever and do nothing, then I simply cancelled updates and closed during the night.  I have been relieved to have solved the problem of BITS, but is concerned by the hang up on the tenth update installation and he called again for the qmgr.dll file during the installation of updates.

    This morning, when I rebooted, it installed some updates at startup, and I restarted again.  He then held I first install the .NET Framework 3.5 Service Pack 1 and the .NET Framework 3.5 Family Update for versions of .NET 2.0 to 3.5 (KB951847) x 86 to date.  N BITS issue for that.  It took time, but completed settle.  Restart again and now there are only 21 updates to high priority required.  My guess is that he downloaded all 124 updates last night, but when I cancelled the installation after hanging on #10, he just started to install it again this morning and did so successfully.

    However, when I try to install the 21 remaining, he has not once again, and I find that the BITS service is not in the services again.  After I have re-enter the BITS service and restart it, the downloads are working again.

    I am now what I may need to reinsert and restart the BITS service whenever I need to download an update.

    Ideas, suggestions or comments?  I am slowly solve problems and if I persist, I can get this all taken care.

    Hi Dan,.

    From what you wrote, I understand where you are getting confused. Here are the steps to follow to solve this problem.

    Open the Windows search tool, copy / paste the following text, and then click Search: qmgr.dll

    Research should show this file in the following locations:

    C:\Windows\System32
    C:\WINDOWS\ServicePackFiles\i386
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\bits

    I hope they are all present, follow these steps to register the service.

    Click on start, run and copy/paste: regsvr32 qmgr.dll and click OK
    (If you do not have the command run in the start menu, hit the Windows key + R, instead)

    Do the same with this file: regsvr32 qmgrprxy.dll and then restart.

    Here are the next steps.

    Copy / paste this command in the field to run, and then click OK
    %windir%\System32\rundll32.exe setupapi, InstallHinfSection DefaultInstall 132 %windir%\inf\qmgr.inf

    Windows will launch a dialog box asking you to insert the Windows installation CD. Ignore this and change the way downstairs to C:\WINDOWS\ServicePackFiles\i386

    The reason to change the path to the i386 folder is that the files that are there are newer than those on the Windows installation CD.

    Then restart the PC again and continue with the rest of the troubleshooting steps.

    Click on start, run and copy/paste the following and click OK: services.msc

    You should now be able to see the Background Intelligent Transfer Service, or just "BITS" displayed in the list of Services.

    Double click it to open BITS and then click on the Start button. This is just a test to make sure that it works correctly.

    If you get 2 error: cannot find the specified file, click on start, then run again and copy / paste the following command, and then click OK:
    Tracking Add HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\BITS\Parameters /v ServiceDll /t REG_EXPAND_SZ /d %windir%\System32\qmgr.dll

    Restart then try and start the BITS.

    If you get the same error again, copy / paste the following text in the field run and click OK:
    Reg add HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\BackupRestore\FilesNotToBackup

    Reboot once more and then try and start the BITS.

    Let me know how you please.

  • Just another one of those hardcore Windows XP Boot problems...

    Problem summarized: when Windows starts normally loading: "Windows has not start because the following file is missing or damaged: '\system32\hal.dll" Please reinstall a copy of the above file.»  This was due to a damaged boot.ini file (it is without a doubt, don't give me alternatives, I know that's what it is)

    So I'll pass by exactly what is happening, or I can do when I choose options.  NOTE: I DON'T HAVE ANYTHING TO BOOT FROM WINDOWS CD!

    When I turn on my Avertec Netbook with Windows XP computer, the title screen appears, and if I press F2 here, I can access configuration CMOS.  Who has all the BIOS settings and allows me to choose the boot device, I still access all the settings here.

    If I let it continue, it goes to a screen that says "[F5] for HARD drive recovery," and I can also press F8 for advanced here options menu.  (If I let him go, he's going to where Windows would normally begin loading and displays the error message that I listed in the paragraph 'problem summary' at the top).  So if I press F8 and try one of these options, the same error message appears for all options,including the safe mode, can't get on it.

    If I press F5 instead on this screen, it brings me to 'Installation of Windows (active EMS).  A window asking me if I want to restore my hard drive for purchase,I'll not do BUT, there is also a command prompt box (which seems to be the only one, that I can get).  It penetrates into the typed command in "X:\Windows\System32 > ', which I do not know is the right place too try to run startup commands.  Whenever I have type BOOTCFG or any extension of it, he says "ERROR: could not open the TRUNK." INI file.

    I looked around the Internet and these forums to try to understand something, but nothing works.  I have never really been advanced with computers or anything, so if there is someone who knows possible answers, the more detail the better.  Thank you

    Well, I solved the problem a bit.  I accidentally crossed a command "notepad.exe" as I was scrolling with TAB.  He opened a notebook here to restore HARD drive (which is apparently a feature of Vista on a computer made for XP...)  So what?  Well, in the open dialog box, I backed up my data just in case, via copy and paste, AND I found and open the boot.ini file and fixed!

    So now XP will begin to start again, but it still just freezes like before and loading never ends.  Looks like a much simpler problem now, I'll look again through the forums
