Problem of COM and Modem Ports

Dear Sirs, although I have all the updated drivers, all Bluetooth ports, Modem and my PC series are kept with questions (marked with the "!" sign), so I can't use this devices.

I went to the Toshiba web site and updated all the drivers.

I deleted the deviced and clik "find the hardware changes" and the Ports are installed with questions.
This medication was working a few weeks ago, so I guess that the problem is a few OS update?

So I use W7 64 if one users pass trought this problem please help me.
Thank you
Nuno Rafael

I installed the modem using the supplied driver, but every time I ask the modem he says that the port is already open. In device under ports COM and LPT LPT1 Manager only is there no mention of all the com ports. Any suggestions please

    Hello

As far as I know that the modem uses virtual agrees that are created by the operating system.
There will be no physical com ports listed in Device Manager.
Do you have any kind of error messages or the modem is not listed in the Device Manager to all?

It is a problem with the TC model AC. We do not know the cause, but he just has problems with a number of different cable modems. (others are also affected, but cable seems the problem of principle).

What is happening is the WAN constantly talk to the modem port.

There is nothing you can do... neither is defective... they are simply not happy punks when together.

The solution is to replace one or the other...

Around here people seem to think to replace the modem a better idea... the zoom model seems to be working... but check with Cox is in their list of supported modems.

  • Lost after the replaecment Modem port forwarding

Time Warner has recently replaced the modem on my system, and although I can access my PC with or without wire and connection to the internet is normal I can access is no longer the internet via my router Linksys E1200 wireless cameras.   Change the modem changed my WAN IP I had need to adapt the address of my wireless camera to include the new IP address.   I restarted the rounter and modem and don't know what else I shouod do to find what I believe to be the transfer of port capacity.  I have not changed the parameter values in the configuration of the router, but I can't be sure that the TW tech has not changed anything.  I see that my firmware is date and should probably be updated but I thought it would be wise to try to get the system moving forward, I changed the firmware.  Any thoughts?

I think that the new modem already built into the router then you may be in a double NAT condition. If the ISP's modem has a built-in router, it is best to fill the modem. Ask the ISP don't do that. Having 2 routers on the same line can cause connection problems: link >http://www.practicallynetworked.com/networking/fixing_double_nat.htm and http://computer.howstuffworks.com/nat.htm if the modem cannot be filled then see if the modem has a DMZ option and enter the IP address of the router gets the modem and put it in the DMZ modems.

    Hello

    1. If it works well before?

    2. what version of Modem drivers do you use? Do you have any other device connected to the computer?

First of all, I suggest you to check if the modem is compatible with Windows 7.

    Check out the link:

    Windows 7 Compatibility Center:

    http://www.Microsoft.com/Windows/compatibility/Windows-7/en-us/default.aspx

I would also recommend to connect the modem to a different computer and check if it detects there. If it does not work on another computer also, then the problem is with the modem and I would ask you to contact the manufacturer of the modem for any further assistance.

Error 633 indicates that the port is already in use or is not configured for remote access dial out. You may need to check if the VPN and the connection connection try to use the same port that is causing the problem. You may need to check the settings of the modem and change the port for your needs.

To work around this problem, use one of the following methods:

    Method 1:

Reserves explicitly the TCP port that is used for the VPN connection. To do this, follow these steps:

    a. click Start, click run, type regedit.exe in the Open box and then click OK.

    b. in the registry editor, find and then click the following registry subkey:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\Tcpip\Parameters

    (c) in the Edit menu, point tonewand then click multi-string value.

    d. rename the multi-string value as 'ReservedPorts' and then double-clickReservedPorts.

    e. in the value data box, type1723-1723, and then click OK.

    f. exit the registry editor.

Registry warning: this section, method, or task contains steps that tell you how to modify the registry. However, serious problems can occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you proceed with caution. For added protection, back up the registry before you edit it. Then you can restore the registry if a problem occurs. For more information about how to back up and restore the registry, click on the number below to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/322756/

    .

    Method 2:

Use the netstat command to find the program that is using port 1723. Then, end the process for this program. To do this, follow these steps:

    a. click Start, click run, type cmd.exe in the Open box and then click OK.

    b. at the command prompt, type the following command and press ENTER:

    NETSTAT - aon

    c. in the result which appears, identify the process ID for the program, if any, who is using the TCP port 1723.

    d. at the command prompt, type the following command and press ENTER:taskkill/pid PID/f

Note: The taskkill command terminates the process that corresponds to the ID of the process. The/F option is used forcefully to complete the process.

    e. at the command prompt, typeexitand press ENTER to quit the command prompt.

Restart your computer. This may cause the program that uses the TCP 1723 port to use a different port.

    I hope that helps!

  • Tecra 730CDT and infrared port

Hi, I wonder if someone can help me. I have a 730CDT I know it is very old, but it has an IR port, and I thought that I would be able to get on the internet by connecting to my phone via infrared and using the phone as a modem, I know the internal modem cannot be used with mobile phones. The questions are: how to activate the IR port? I looked in the electronic manual under IR port, but all that appears is "diagnostic" and if I can activate the IR port successfully, so should I disable the internal modem before you connect the mobile phone? If anyone can help I would appreciate a lot that I'm going to Italy in the next few days and really need to be able to connect to the internet with the laptop. I'm not all clued up technically so denominated fool proof would be as good!
    Linda

    Hello, Linda

In my opinion the infrared data transfer speed is too slow, if you want to use the mobile phone as a modem. The problem is that connection can break down very often. Wireless or Bluetooth connection is much better.

In any case, I found information that your device a infrared port. Usually the infrared port should be listed in the Device Manager and must be activated. The infrared option must be enabled on the mobile phone too. In this case, the mobile phone must be recognized by laptop.

Next step is to add new modem (mobile phone) on the phone and modem options the tab of phone and modem options modem that you can find under the control panel.

If the modem is successfully added create a connection manually please and define which modem should be used (mobile phone), provider name and phone number that needs to connect by modem.

Connection Wi - Fi comes and goes several times each minute. With the laptop connected to the modem with the cable, this does not happen. I tested two Wi - Fi routers, it happens with both. The laptop is 1 m distance to the Wi - Fi router. Other devices (I e iPod) running well without disconnects with my net wifi. Seems that the problem is in the laptop.

  • Satellite A100: USB and Modem does not

    Hello!

My name is Clarisse and I have a Satellite A100, which I use for school. I'm having a problem with its usb ports and modem.
When I try to connect to the internet, he just say he of no tone and tells me to ensure that lines are connected, who they are and the phone line works certainly, as I checked with my PC and I also checked the phone if it was busy, it wasn't.

I then try again and a window appears and says that there is something wrong with my modem, how can I fix?

The other issue is my usb ports who refuse to work, they can't recognize anything I plug (for example, bluetooth adapter, flashdisk, ipod) even though they are installed!

However, the strange thing is that when I plug in my printer it connects and does its job:(je suis tellement confus et scolaires est devrait commencer bientôt.)

    Can someone help me please?

    Thank you
    Clarisse

    Hello

In my opinion the modem connection does not work due to the modem settings.
Go to Device Manager and select the properties of the modem.
Please select the Modem tab. You will find the option "wait tone before dialing." You must disable (uncheck) this option.

I guess that the USB ports cannot recognize the external USB ports because of the power.
The USB ports provide 500mA. It is a standard USB. If external devices use a power greater than 500 ma, so it is possible that the device may not be recognized.

In such cases, the USB hub with an external power supply can solve these problems.

  • Porting to ARM LM3S811, PWM and serial port issues

    Read my previous post: http://forums.ni.com/ni/board/message?board.id=420&thread.id=1996

    I have problems again, I
corrupted data sent through port sΘrie 0 when you use the OR

data inside labview with VISA, sent my arm to my PC.

    I have
think the timings may be wrong, but I put t know
where to look for baud rate divisor for
    UART0. S 3, 811 is Xtal 6 Mhz, 8 Mhz not like the 3S 8962.

    I have
also tested the PWM on the frequency and scope dosen t match if I ask
for 1 kHz, I'm moving 666 Hz. Seems like affecting the Xtal 6 Mhz in
    uVision is not enough.

    OK, here's the solution.

    Open 'startup.s '.

    Goto line 193:

; set the system clock to run at 50 MHz
    ; SysCtlClockSet(SYSCTL_SYSDIV_4 |) SYSCTL_USE_PLL |
    ;                SYSCTL_XTAL_8MHZ | SYSCTL_OSC_MAIN);

    LDR R0 = 0X01C002C0
    BL SysCtlClockSet

    B __main

Replace R0, with the right values in "sysctl.h" line 236:

in my case the value of the 6 Mhz Crystal which is "0x000002C0".

Calendar of PWM is restored and serial port works fine now.

  • Printing problems with XP and Lexmark-documents are just stuck in the print queue

Original title: printing problems with XP and Lexmark

Until yesterday, I was able to print OK using Windows XP and a Lexmark Printer series 3500-4500 with wireless capabilities.  Reported network test wireless (on printer) and report indicates that there are no reported problem, also did the diagnostic test and which shows no problem either.  I can't print and documents are just stuck in the print queue - please can someone help, it drives me crazy because it's probably a very simple solution.

I guess you do not have all of the error messages.

It is possible that comes to mind that your printer has received a new IP address of your router (this could easily happen if you have several computers and other devices that connect to your wireless network).

Find the IP address of the printer of his network diagnostic page.
Click Start > printers and faxes, right-click the printer and select Properties
Select the Ports tab, then click on the button "Configure Port" (be careful NOT to click anywhere in the list of ports)
Make sure that the IP address in 'Port settings' is identical to that shown on the diagnosis of your network printer page.

To avoid this problem in the future, you must configure the printer to have a static IP address.  See your printer User Guide for instructions.

Choose an appropriate subnet address (i.e., has the first 3 groups of numbers the same as the other addresses in your network) but who is not in the range of addresses assigned by the DHCP server on your router.  See the User Guide of your router for more details.
