Problem of Satellite A200 - 28 p/battery charger

Hello

I had a power problem with my battery charger for a while sometimes it would charge when plugged in and others would not, so if I removed the charger to move the laptop it was a bet of 50 / 50 as to whether it would be instantly turn off or not.

This was not too much a problem as the laptop is not moved too often, but I recently returned home to find my charger did not work at all and the cell phone was off.

I managed to get hold of a replacement charger just to test it and I found that when it is plugged, flashing blue light which is usually strong watch the charger is plugged, and the times he has stayed solid and allowed me to boot up the laptop lasted almost a minute at best before shutting down completely not even enough time to get transfer important documents I have there.

Is buying a new battery is going to fix this, or is the problem more likely to be something inside the laptop to be replaced?

Hello

I doubt that buy a new battery would solve your problem.
Why?
Because the laptop should also work correctly using only the AC adapter.
So even if the battery is defective or dead, it should be possible to use the laptop connected to the network.

The laptop has a number of other power resources, including a smart power battery clock real time and these resources are closely linked and one could affect apparent power problems.

If the DC IN is blue, this means that the AC adapter is connected properly and the power supply correctly. If this is not the case, the adapter may be faulty or there is a problem with the electronic power supply on the motherboard.

So in this case, the power adapter must be tested if you are sure that the adapter is working properly, then there must be a problem with the motherboard to 100%.

  • Satellite A200 - loses the battery, switch off the power

I have a relatively old Satellite A200, yet almost all inside is new except the battery. The battery has a very short life, but that's because its old. Recently the computer started to suddenly lose the battery, so the charge light stays on, the battery light turns off and the battery icon said "plugged in, not charging." However, the computer still work on battery power. If I see it at the time, then by removing and replacing the charger repeatedly, I can start it load again, but if I am not it switches off without warning. Since the battery life is now less than a minute which often.

I don't think that the problem is with the charger because it always shows the charger is plugged in, and when the computer is off the battery light is always on when it is plugged. I had a problem with the power connector, but if the motherboard was recently replaced so I don't think that's it either.

If someone could help it would save me a lot of frustration, thank you.

    Hello

At first, I must say that you should not be frustrated. Problems with consumer products are normal, and each of us has problems with laptops, televisions or other electronic product.

Let's see what you can do about it.
Your description is OK, but what I want to know is follow:
When you remove the battery can work on your laptop with no problems (start work, cut)?

I also think that the battery is too old and I presume it's troublemaker in the history. It is not easy to explain what behavior flashing if you have a defective hardware or old coin inside.

Maybe, you need to buy the replacement of the battery and check the features for laptop and the battery, just to see if everything will be OK again. If you will be faced with the same problem again then we can discuss what may be the problem.
In my opinion only a reason for this could be electronic power supply.

    What do you think?

  • Satellite A200 use external battery

    Hi all.

I have the Satellite A200-PSAE6E, and I bought a universal external battery. But external battery cannot produce enough current to my laptop when the internal battery is not full. When internal battery is fully charged, external keeps it full and portable computer running, but when the internal battery is not complete and I plug the external battery in seconds laptop shows that it is plugged in, charging the battery, but after a few seconds, it shows only that the laptop is plugged, and battery charge.

Problem is that when the laptop is plugged in and the battery won't charge it uses an internal battery (as when it is not plugged in), and it drain the internal battery it turn off and there was still shows that it is connected. Can I define that when the laptop is plugged in, but does not charge to use external power?
I'm sure it's only the software solution.

    You ad is really confusing

I have a question; Is the external battery designed for this model of laptop and Toshiba recommends use this external battery in your laptop?

Back to your question, in fact, it looks like a malfunction of the accumulator and in my opinion, you should test another battery, but before you would get in touch with Toshiba ASP, you must check if your BIOS is updated the BIOS should be updated later say I don't very well if this will change anything but it s worth a try m

  • Changing the setting of 80% to 100% on the Satellite Z30-A-104 battery charging

    Hello

I used my Z30 Satellite primarily as a desktop till now (the charger is still plugged).
One day I got a popup option to increase the life of the battery (charge only up to 80%) and I accepted the option.

But now, I'll be traveling and can't reset this option.

I want to charge the battery to 100% and be able to take advantage of longer battery life.
    How is that possible? Help!

    See you soon

    Hello

I think that you have changed this setting in battery Toshiba Manager c++.
    You must disable Mode "Eco-responsible".

I do not managed any password before.
Please help me solve the problem! Is there a possibility of losing information with this situation?

    Hello

No you can not lose any information, but in your case I would check for a more RECENT for your system BIOS version because there are some discussions were that other users had the same problem.

A user reported that a NEWER version has been released and the problem has been resolved, but you should check for it here:

Otherwise, it would be necessary to set the machine to an authorized service partner. If you need a link to find the one closest to your country:

  • Graphic problem on Satellite A200 (PSAE6E)

There is a problem with my laptop:

It is the Satellite A200 - 23d PSAE6E. I added 1 GB - DIMM DDR - II 667 MHz Hynix. Memtest86 says no error with memory after a night of continuous operation.
About a week or two ago the problem started to appear.
I play Lineage II Interlude (it is built on the Unreal engine). Problem may occur after 15 minutes of play, can only occur after 3 hours - no dependencies to intensively to play or time spent in the game.
Screen to become as if I put its colors 16 color range and become like the interlaced NTSC video. No resolution and color changes help. Didn't help not leaving the game. If I restart laptop, everything is normal.
No other game (including LA2-Gracia) or work or multimedia tasks doesn't follow this problem, only Interlude LA2 and UT game. Other 3D games work very well.

The drivers are original from the recovery CD. Windows Vista HP with automatic updates is enabled.

And: when I connect external screen keyboard 'falls' are statistically more frequent (10 minutes to 1 hour in game LA2 it uptime).

What is this and how do I solve this problem?

Please copy your answers to my e-mail address: foxsandy (at) mail.ru, thank very you much. Sorry for my bad English, I'm from the Russia...

I believe that no one here can say with certainty why this happen. We can only speculate why something like this.

My opinion is that there is a problem in the relationship between the graphics card and extra RAM module. There may be a problem to address.
In the end, you must perform some tests to see exactly what is happening. Try with another 1 GB of RAM from another manufacturer, such as Kingston.

  • Satellite A200 - 1 2 battery alone costs at Windows shutdown?

    Hi all

I have a problem with my battery.

    1. the computer is off
    2. the battery is LOW
    3. I plug in the power cable and the light is Orange and the battery recharges.
I know that the battery is being charged because when I turn on the computer after a while ago for example 44% charged.
    4. when I look now at the State of the battery there is a "44% available, battery plugged in, does not support.
    5. at the moment battery does not charge and power drops 40%... 35%... 32%...ex...
    6. when I turn now to the computer, the led is orange back and the battery again.

    7. one last thing: when the battery is charged with the computer off to 100% and then I turn on the computer
the battery remains at 100% because the computer is running on the power cable.

My conclusion is that the battery charges only when the computer is turned off?
those of the battery is 100% the computer works on the power cable.
If the battery is not 100% and I turn on the computer, the computer does not work on the power cable (power cord is plugged) and the power of the battery decreases again.
What I can do about it.

    Help

    Hi mate,

First of all, I must you accept this battery charge should also work if the laptop is turned on. I mean on my notebooks, it still works properly and I have this based only on the Toshiba site: http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/FAQ35007K001ZR01.htm

But to be honest, I think that there is a hardware problem with your laptop because there is no software option that must turn to charge the battery in Windows.
Another question: If you go into the BIOS, the battery will be charged?

If this isn't the case, I would contact the nearest authorized service provider for help. They should check your laptop and maybe it's a problem of motherboard or something else. On the Toshiba site, you can search the nearest ASP:
http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com > support & downloads > find an authorized service provider

If you have any other questions, please let us know and give us a feedback if the problem is resolved. It's always interesting to read that and I think that for other users. ;)

  • Problem of Satellite A200 - Synaptics Tuoch paved

    Hello

I have developed a problem with the Snaptics touchpad on my Satellite A200. Despite the use of different versions of the driver (original, later from Synaptics) showed intermittent problems with the right button.

Sometimes, the green light on the icon in the system tray is on permanently (as if she is continually pressed).

Often when you connect, the touchpad seems "backwards" - type click = right click action.

Would it be something physically wrong with the touchpad?

    TIA,

    Ross

To be honest I didn t notice of similar questions of touchpad on any of my Satellite notebooks.
Of course, from time to time my touchpad icon appears green because I put my fingers/hand accidentally on the touch area. But it's rare, and to be honest I don't think this could be the reason of your touchpad problem ;)

    I have a few questions;
You are using an external USB mouse?
You have no mouse driver installed?

I ask because sometimes a 3rd party mouse driver may affect the functionality of the touchpad.

Instead, we should think that this problem could be related to a hardware problem too.
If it is a hardware problem then a technician must check the functionality of computer touchpad portable s and possibly should replace the defective part.

    Best regards

  • Satellite M70-165 PSM70E - battery charging problem

    Hello
My laptop is a Satellite M70-165 PSM70E. I use Windows XP Home Edition. I recently bought a new battery and it is impossible to charge more than 50%. I have updated the BIOS to 1.70 (for non Windows Vista users) and I still have the problems mentioned above. I tried to dischage completely and charge it again, several times, with no luck.

    Is there a solution?

Another question. There is no 'EC' in the BIOS version, only "BIOS version 1.70". I hope there will be some calibration of the battery or the power management after the BIOS update, but there is no menu "Power Management" in the BIOS.

    Is this correct?

    Thanks in advance.

    > recently bought a new battery and it is impossible to charge more than 50%

In my opinion the new battery is not OK.
You must consult an another new battery maybe you bought a battery already used?

    > Another question. There is no 'EC' in the BIOS version, only "BIOS version 1.70".
On the page of the Toshiba UE driver you can find a BIOS update.
I guess that this update contains the EC update too.

  • Satellite R630-14 t - battery charge time

My point of view Satellite R630-14 t 5 hours to recharge the battery. It is a normal time or not?
Normally how long does take to recharge the battery for the low level of the batteries at the point of full battery on Satellite R630-14 t?

    Hey,.

Usually the charging time is described in the user manual.

Did you check it how long it takes to charge the battery?

  • Satellite A200 - X 01 - battery error on Windows 7

Hello, I wake my computer from sleep mode and found a popup stating that I had a battery error.

I was wondering if this is a common thing or if it is a mistake to Windows 7?

    Hi DocWinters,

What happens if you reboot the laptop? The error persists there?

I doubt s a problem running. In my opinion, it sounds like that, the battery must be replaced because its consumables and can only be charge/recharged 500 times I think.

You can get a new battery to an authorized service provider! :)

  • Can we use Satellite A200 - 1 GB DC charger only?

    Hello

    Any body can help me?

I want to know if I can run my laptop A200-1 GB by continuous tension given by charger always.
I mean he must unplug the charger once the battery is completely charged with leaving plugged?

In my user manual, it is not mentioned. But when I download a manual of Toshiba web, it is said disconnect after full load. Other wise battery gets spoiled.

Cannot therefore t we use portable using DC even completely?
Which will reduce my battery life?
Can any body give an idea?

    Hello

Last days I followed your job offers and looks like you manage your A200 with care. It is very good. I'm really surprised that you read the user manuals document s because a lot of people post about things described in manuals.

Back to your question: of course, you can use your laptop connected to the power supply current only. All desktop computers or laptops placed in offices are connected to the permanent power supply and person, but really nobody, switch the power ON or OFF.

Of course, it is good and useful if you can work from time to time on battery only, but battery technology is today all right, you don't need to do.

Believe me, I have older computer Tecra laptop at the office and it works on mains only almost 5 years and I still have the original battery.

Please don't worry about the battery. If you work with your laptop at home or in the office and you need also for certain complex operations it is best used with AC power, and also with the PERFORMANCE profile in power management. In this case, you will be able to use the whole performance of the CPU.

    Bye and good luck!

  • Satellite M60 - 105 stopped battery charge

    Hello

I have an M60 which is now more than a year. Recently, my power adaptor stopped charging my battery so I replaced it with an equivalent adapter.

While initially it worked successfully, after a few days it thus ceased to charge my battery. The battery works fine as my laptop turns on but asks that I stopped him in order to prevent the loss of work etc.

The adapter also works very well because it works in a friends laptop without problem.

Have no idea what the problem is or how to fix this?

    Thank you

    Chris

    Hello Chris

To be honest I see no possibility to fix it alone. Be honest: what you can do in this case? Battery recharge is question of electronic power and if the battery is not correctly I'm afraid, it must be checked by the service.

I'm really interested if someone will put something on itself fixing.

    In any case good luck.
