Problem of satellite C series CD/DVD writer

If I try to copy pictures from my laptop on a CD it seems to go through the process gives then a message "check failed". Same thing happens with a word file. Also, it seems a little hit and miss what happens when I try to run the copy.

Maybe you should try different types of CD (CD - R, CD + R, CD - RW etc...)
Also, the use of different burning software could improve the copy process.

I searched the internet for a solution, but the given solution does not work because the upper and lower filters must not be located in the file regedt32.exe.
Is there anyone who can tell me what to do and how this problem can be solved?

    Regarding, Jens Oolders

    Hello

I found the same information as the upper and lower values filter would have a bad influence on the use of CD/DVD drive.
    Many people have reported an improvement in performance after deleting the upper and lower filter of this registry key values;
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Class\ {4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}

To start the registration type please; RUN REGEDIT in the window.

After this procedure, you must restart the laptop again.

May I ask what burning program you use?
I would recommend Nero. It supports several different additional functions such as 'Test Drive' or ' control the speed in the car.
It all works to get performance better combustion.

Perhaps, you use switch to Nero and test different DVD from different vendors!

    Hi Arek

In my opinion, there are many reasons that may be responsible for this problem.

One of them is a conflict with other software of CD burning, that is currently or was once installed on the system. These other recording programs registry changes is the normal cause and only for cleaning the registry after removing the software will solve the problem.

You have some other burning software installed on your device?

    Hello

Yes, I think that it is possible, because the L10-189 has a DVD Super Multi drive installed.
Go to a service partner, they can build in the player for you. Otherwise, you will lose your warranty.

  • Satellite P100 - cannot get the CD/DVD writer to work under WXP Pro

    Hello

I recently updated my Satellite P100 - 188 (PSPA3E) to run Windows XP Pro SP2.

I can't have the CD/DVD writer to work well. I looked on the downloads page, but there seems to be nothing. It reads the CD/dvd, but allow me to write to them. If I put a blank CD in nothing happens.

Someone has ideas how to get this working again?

    Thanks in advance...

    Kind regards

    Hi Matt

Maybe you should install like Nero burning software. Original Toshiba image (WXP MCE) it was an engraving Sonic RecordNow software pre-installed.

I tried to run an old game I own and which was protected by starforce and ran starforce nightmare with a made the device completely unusable.

After much research, I heard to reset the cmos.
I have treid through debugging and nothing happened. I really don't want to open the laptop and remove the cmos battery or leave it for a month until the battery runs.

Y at - it advice on what I should do.

Could you please put more details on the model of your laptop and you CD/DVD driver problem? This will be useful for other suggestions.

To be honest I don t think any reset BIOS, the RCT battery remove, etc. is possible or could help you.
Only the ASP would be able to remove the TCR battery (if necessary what I don t think), but would not reset the BIOS like on the desktop PC!

Its saying the _archive is missin or corrupt_,
I'm not sure that I now need to address this issue the drivers or so i ' l'll have to reset the settings of factor.

Optical disc drive using the standard Microsoft driver and there is no special driver for this device. Optical drive should be automatically recognized by the operating system.
What is the STRANGE situation in Device Manager?

  • Satellite A200 PSAF0A - cannot use the DVD writer / reader more

    Hello
Anyone has any advice on this?

    Laptop: Satellite A200, PSAF0A
Require: DVD burner / player sofware.

My hard drive died last week, so a techno guy installed a new and reinstalled the OS (Vista)... everything works fine. But don't have Toshiba Utilities for the use of the DVD burner / player more. Where is it? I downloaded the player to DVD from Toshiba, but it does not work. It doesn't do anything. Media player plays sound but no video.

The software that I used to play DVDs accompanying the package when I bought it; InterVideo WinDVD I remember well.
I downloadeded V 8, but it does not work either. I need Codecs etc, right?

Looked at Toshiba Europe site for the DVD player, but I think it's the same DVD s/w that I have already downloaded.
But there is no download of my model, PSAF0A (Satellite A200) in all cases.

I do not have the CD - they are comfortable in another country! (Unless, of course, my nephew is using them as a frisbee that could well be the case). Help!

It seems that Toshiba do not publish the DVD software on the site... maybe its due to the issues of the region / license?

Try AVS DVD Player (its free).
If you need a MPEG2 codec, install ffdshow

    The two are in http://www.free-codecs.com

  • DVD Writer R6112 malfunction

Hi guys... I want to just say thank you in advance to anyone who tries to help me on this one.

I have Toshiba Satellite M30-106 and I meet countless problems with the DVD burner (firmware 1332 R6112 I think). Because I do not use the writing of DVD that I only realized the problem recently. When you use Orange Top Bulkpaq disks or Datawrite writer creates discs as if nothing is wrong, but then cannot read his own creations.

However, other readers may read but normally not very well. I tried to find the firmware updates, but they seem not to be for the review, I had.

Can anyone help? What is the media I am using or is there something wrong with my drive? Is there a list of media that will certainly work? I am reluctant to send my laptop for Toshiba because I don't want to run the risk of data loss and I can't save!

    Thanks for your help

    Hello

In my opinion, you should first try to use a few different media to see if there is some problem with some specific blank CD or DVD. It will also be interesting to know if you have a problem with the original CD or DVD that you can buy in shops.

I don't know what burning software you use, but also try to use another or try to burn CDs using Windows engraving option.

If the problem is still there that there may be a serious problem. In this case, you must contact the service partner. All your data, you can try to save on an external device, such as external HARD disk or USB key.

    Good bye

  • Satellite M45: Mat * a DVD - RAM UJ - 831S burning question.

I have a Satellite M45. I have problems with my DVD writer. I worked very well, now I'm having issues. It will read and play DVDs and CDs; However, when I try to burn it says D: / / is not accessible incorrect function.
The machine worked before, this just started happening.
I tried the firmware update, but it says that the target drive is not connected.

    Any help?

    Hello

The message D: / / is not accessible occurs after the burning process or before you start to burn?
It is possible that you have not closed the writing session.

  • Satellite PRO P100 - 383 DVD UJ - 850 s Firmware update

    Hello

    My laptop is a Satellite PRO P100-383 with a DVD burner MAT * a UJ-850 s.

The current firmware of my DVD writer UJ-850 s MAST * one is 1.10 and I can't write some DVD-R, because they are not recognized as DVD-R, but as a CD - R. I think it's just the firmware of DVD writer that is too old.
Is it possible to update this with new firmware please? because I found something in the download section for my laptop. Just drivers and BIOS of motherboard, but nothing on the MAT * an update of firmware UJ-850 s.

Thank you very much for your answer.

    Friendly.

    Philip.

    Hi Philippe

In my opinion you shouldn't change something but use high quality blank DVD - R TDK or Verbatim.
Maybe you use some blank media cheap and without name.

Have you tested with known brands?
