  1. remove all cables and devices, disconnect them and try to turn on the device

  2. check the LED light situation and ensure the action of the spring button / stop is normal

  3 Exchange with a well known power cord and the AC adapter

  4 Pack no adapters are available, check if the power adaptor is slightly warm

  Note: This will give us an indication that the power adapter could be good

  Note: Make sure that there is no spill of liquid or cutting

  6 perform a boot dry / Power Drain

  7. check if the Port of the AC adaptor is loose/broken

• Pavilion dm4-2015dx: the left speakers

  I'm not all the sounds of the internal left speaker on my laptop.  The two parties work in the headphone jack.  I replaced the internal speakers with new ones - does not solve the problem.  Then I replaced the motherboard - still does not solve the problem. Anything else I can try?

  I reinstalled the driver of the theaudio - no help.  When I tested each speaker in a stereo configuration, the two speakers worked fine.  When I played an mp3 of my music files, the problem still exists.  So I think 'it's maybe a software problem  BINGO!  I worked with Media player, so I switched to Groove and everything works as it is supposed to.  Media Player does not work well.  I wonder if anyone else has this problem and if there is a fix for the Media Player.

• Scrolling, pinch and zoom does not work in touchpad DM4-2015dx

  I did a clean install of Windows 7 Ultimate 64 - bit edition on my new laptop HP Pavilion DM4-2015dx from Best Buy. I was able to find the drivers for all devices except the touchpad. Currently, the touchpad functionality is limited to basic operations. I can't scroll, pinch zoom, etc. I tried the latest drivers of Synaptics Touchpad HP and Synaptics site without a bit of luck. The touchpad is simply recognized as generic "Standard Pointing Device."

  When I go into deivce prperties for the touchpad I see only the options for assignment of the buttons. There is no option to activate the rollers vertical or horizontal, pinch zoom, etc. Help, please!

  OK, so I found what the problem was. Initially, I assumed that the touchpad is a Synaptics touchpad. It is NOT the case. The touchpad is "Alps pointing device". The drivers installed with HP Pavilion DM4-2015dx out of the box are dated 18/02/2011 version 7.206.1717.117 as Alps pointing device. These particular drivers were not found on the HP website. However, there are similar drivers of 2010 that work very well. Here is a link:

  Without the right drivers you will also find expreince the cursor jump effect where the cursor will jump at random on the screen locations as you type. It has nothing to do with the user touching the touchpad. It's just that the generic touchpad Windows drivers are NOT compatible with the Alps touchpad.

  A final word for HP. PLEASE post all drivers for HP Pavilion DM4-2015dx on your Internet site, as well as ALL the HP utility.

  Impossible to install the WiFi driver. Tried all 3 drivers provided on the support site: Ralink, Realtek & Intel WiMAX. All 3 installers indicate either the WiFi card was not found / detected or the installation program just hangs.

  A clean install of Windows 7 Professional 64 bit DVD VL - required to connect to our domain controller.

  (1) to restore the system to factory settings

  (2) save C:\SWSetup\Drivers file on a USB

  (3) install Windows 7 Pro 64-bit

  I have a Pavilion DM4 1201us with original DDR3 2x2gb memory cards.

  I bought a pair of Corsair DDR3 1333 Mhz 4 GB memory cards.

  I have the latest BIOS (F.27) and I'm running the OEM Windows 7 Home Premium 64 - Bit. SP1.

  The BIOS recognizes the 8 Gb and when I run the BIOS memory test it runs without error.

  When I try to boot Win7, it gets somewhere before the logon screen and makes a BSOD with a message about a new memory being installed.

  I went back the Corsair Memory cards, but you need to know if there is a problem with any upgrade up to 8 GB of memory with my particular setup. HP offers an upgrade to 8 GB with the same spec boards. (I'm beyond the warranty period!)

  Have you tried more than one kit of 8 GB?

  The reason why I ask is with memory DDR sometimes reticular sticks will pass all the tests if the two sticks are installed then a stick could be bad without you knowledge.

  Also you tried a bar of 4 GB and a 2 GB stick to see how it worked?

• Problem with the BIOS of the Pavilion dm4-3002sa bought in Belgium

  5 months ago I bought a Pavilion dm4-3002sa (English version) in Belgium, where I live (to have a QWERTY, AZERTY keyboard like most laptops sold in Belgium). I discover now that this particular model is not recognized on the Belgian support HP web site - I could only find it on the web pages of HP UK.

  A month ago I started having repeated problems (automatic stop & restart every 3-5 minutes), which indicates there is a serious problem with my BIOS. The test of memory fails.

  I contacted HP support Belgian and send the laptop for repair (they said that they will replace the current memory).

  HOWEVER, I have another question: If the problem is caused by an incompatibility possible download relative to the BIOS here in Belgium, while my HP laptop is clearly a UK version and not recognized as a model sold in Belgium?

  The RAM is not compatible. The system allows a maximum total memory of 8 GB and uses DDR3-1333 which downclocks at 1066 speed. You cannot use a single module of 8 GB. 4 gigs is the large single module supports the system. I suspect the memory that you have will work fine if you had modules of 2 x 4 GB instead of a single module of 8 GB. That's why memtest is not finished. The controller memory motherboard is not able to take up 8 GB of RAM by a single channel.

• Replacement of the frame and hinges - HP Pavilion dm4 laptop

  I have a HP Pavilion dm4 laptop of 2.5 years. The first hinged on both sides broke that makes it harder for the laptop to close properly and now the frame is breaking apart. Is there a way I can get/buy replacements before other parts are screwed up.

  Yes, I also have this problem (dm4-1050ea).

  It all started on February 2015, when my aunt noticedv that my laptop was nt close properly.  It could be be made to do by pressing half upper (screen cut) to the front to the rear of the closure.

  The hinges then becomes deective that the screen don't would not SOUPLESE nd would not sit just to the place (angle) you open to.

  Following the hinges too stiff beame to exploit, came shortly after the left of the screen/lid and the window broke near the LH hinge (rather than though the bezel as shown in the image above). Then the right hinge broke off, then the screen become deective (mainly a band along the LHS - worked with detached hinges OK))

  So, I find myself with computer work, not 100% functional & broken and needs special care to use. the screen does not work in all areas (a replacement looks like £30-$50), with the virtually hanging screen, need to rplace lying hinges (£10-$15) and also nees any other bits (?) and the knowledge to fix it.  HP say they can't stand any more of this model and have no theparts (from end of 2015).

  It may be beyond the capacity of an almighty ccompany such as HP to find parts, but it does not seem beyond the my ability to get parts of - maybe-2nd hand - other HP broke! - But what I lak is kno detailed ho a skill to perform any repair.

  Thank you for your query.

  I understand that you have a problem installing your graphics drivers.  After formatting the drive and installation of the Intel graphics driver, you have a problem starting.  Did you use the Recovery Manager to format and reinstall Windows 7?

  You only need to install the driver AMD of the HP driver page because it contains the two pilots.  Please try this process:

  • Uninstall and remove two graphic drivers
  • Restart your laptop
  • Run the HP Support Assistant to help find and install the graphics drivers
  • You can also after the uninstall, remove the driver and restart, download and install just the driver AMD.

  If this problem persists, try removing both drivers and using the Recovery Manager to install the drivers:

• Pavilion dm4 touchpad

  I upgraded my Pavilion dm4 Entertainment notebook for Windows 10 and my touchpad has stopped working. All my settings are correct, and I checked to see if my touchpad driver was that it is up-to-date. I have no idea what to do. I have not had this problem before. It does not allow me to use it to scroll, highlight or click. All it will let me do is move the mouse and zoom in & out. It drives me crazy. Any suggestions?

  Method 1.

  I suggest you completely uninstall the touchpad driver and reinstall.

  Follow these steps.

  • Press "Windows + X" and click on "Device Manager".

  • In the list of devices, you should see the drivers for the touchpad.

  • Right-click on the device and select "Uninstall".

  • In the dialog box uninstall, make sure that you select the option to remove the driver package from the system. This causes the installed driver package more soon to be deleted.

  • In the Device Manager Action menu, select ""find the hardware changes " option." This will cause the device driver to be reinstalled. Once the driver is installed, close all windows and restart the computer.

  Method 2.

  Moreover, if there are no updated drivers available on the Web site of the manufacturer of the computer, then don't download the latest drivers and try to install in compatibility mode of Windows 8. Compatibility mode runs the program using settings from a previous version of Windows.

  Follow these steps to install the drivers in compatibility mode and check if that helps.

  a. download the driver from the manufacturer's website.

  b. right-click on the driver configuration file and click on 'Properties'.

  c. click the "compatibility" tab and check the box ' run this program in compatibility mode for " and select the Windows 8 operating system from the menu drop down and proceed with the installation. Once this is done, restart the computer and check if the problem persists.
