Problem restoring RMAN datafile

Hello

I have restored a data file using rman cold backup and then remove this data file retored to the level of the o/s using the rm command just for test on our UAT approx.
Now again I am trying to restore this removed using the same backup datafile and it says
==============================
DataFile 2 already restored to the file ' / Test_Database/undotbs01.dbf ';
don't restore not done, all files read-only offline or already restored
==============================
Please help on this to restore this file

Thank you

Oracle has noticed the absence of the file data and taken offline? Query V$ DATAFILE. Or do an ALTER DATABASE CHECKPOINT or ALTER TABLESPACE OFFLINE, ONLINE.

RESTORATION has a keyword 'FORCE' that you can use to override the Oracle.

RESTORE the DATA file n FORCE.

    RMAN > restore to the seq = 123
    recover up to seq = 123
    ALTER database open resetlogs;

    Background:
    I had to do a cover of rman the other day to restore our database on the eve. After recovery, the sysaux table has become logically corrupt. I tried to solve the corruption of data with rman, but he said he just couldn't after reading through 6 days of backups. I ended up remove the database, re-create the database and restore from a previous export of a few hours takien.

    I now have a database to test the rman recovery. Database has been to the top and rman backups (compressed) running for several days. I tried to recover after day and SYSAUX again a logical corruption. I tried to use Rman to recover damaged data, but it failed.

    I deleted the database and recreated. Has taken several backups rman (this time not compressed) online. 3rd was taken over this time a few hours back. This time everything worked - no block sysaux corruption but why? The only difference is the recovery uncompressed backups and recovery was a shorter time. Why?

    On metalink (or My Oracle Support), there is a note on a similar problem:

    RMAN Duplicate Database causes Corruption Datafile SYSAUX
    DOC - ID: 794705.1

    Interesting, because the note the problem only occurs when the backups are compressed.

  • ORA-12703 all-in-restore RMAN

    Hello world

    I'm with RMAN for backup / restore.
    The source is an Oracle 10g on a dedicated win2003 x 86, while the target is Oracle 10 g on a virtual win2003 x 64.
    I used binaries for the x 64 installation and installed without creating a starter database. I created an instance and a listener and both started well.

    When I try to restore a backup of database on my server target I encounter an error concerning the conversion of character sets.
    ICH checked the registry on both systems and both show NLS_LANG = AMERICAN_AMERICA. WE8MSWIN1252.
    No matter the registry setting I also tried to put the NLS_LANG environment explicitly, that has not changed anything.

    I can restore and recover the backup on a third system allright (wind 2003 x 86, dedicated server) and has never encountered problems.

    That's what I do:

    environment parameter on the command line:

    Set oracle_home=D:\oracle\product\10.2.0\db_1
    Set oracle_sid = myorasid
    Set NLS_LANG = AMERICAN_AMERICA. WE8MSWIN1252

    with RMAN I send these commands, all of which have done allright:

    the value of dbid 3635071591;
    startup nomount;
    SPFile to restore backup automatic db_recovery_file_dest='D:\oracle\product\10.2.0\flash_recovery_area' db_name = "mydbname";
    stop immediately;
    startup nomount;
    Restore automatic backup controlfile;
    change the editing of the database;

    The next step would be the restore process that unfortunately ends in ORA-12703:

    RMAN > restore database;

  • Restore rman 10g with different data file name.

    Hi all.

    I am successful restoration sauvegardΘ (Veritas Netbackup) one 10.2.0.5 database.

    The original database was a 2 node Rac 10.2.0.5 on asm without OMF.

    I'm trying to restore on another host with the same version 10.2.0.5 and even platform (Sparc Solaris), but single instance database.

    RMAN complete successfully, the restore, but the names of the data files are different from what is written in the controlfiles so

    the database can go up but not open.

    It is not only a question of path, the look of database for a file of data like this:

    System.261.622119076 (the right way of the asm source environment)

    but instead, rman restore this data as a file

    o1_mf_system_2ixfh90q_.dbf

    This seems a name OMF.

  • How to restore RMAN backups

    Hello

    I tried to include works of RMAN Oracle 12 c

    If I use the following command, I should have the backuppiece and the archivelog saved in a folder:

    RMAN > BACKUP database DATA PLUS ARCHIVELOG;

    If I ran this command in 4 different days, which I ended up having 4 folders with different inside files

    I guess that, in these files, I have the data files and the archivelogs

    Now I move these folders to tape, re-cutting the backups and delete expired

    Say that in a month, I need one of these backups if I put a band records and I added start with 'c:\path_of _restored_folder _L', so I added all files in the folder that I restored from tape

    Now, if I try to restore the basis of all is well but when I run the recover, it is missing some archiving logs it says

    If I put all the files for 4 days then he finds the archivelog she needs and pick up without problem

    on this basis I understand that in the folder containing a backuppiece of a specific day there is the newspaper of archive that I needed to recover from the DB, is that true? How can I know if the backups folder I need to replace in order to have all the required log archiving?

    At the moment my DB retrieves only if I handed out the Ribbon last backup folder, if I handed out the previous, it restores, but is not recover

    Also I have this configuration of the oracle recovery 3 days window maintains backups in order to be able to restore and recover the last 3 days and he simply deletes all obsolete if the FRA is full

    I tried earlier to set up the window of 3 days as a test recovery

    I ran a few backups and after that I ran the 5th FRA leak out of space and the backup fails

    I expect rman to remove the old backup and make way for a new that I have 5 backuppiece and the FRA is full, why he not do?

    Thank you

    The default behavior of RECOVER is to make a full recovery - right until the transactions today.  So it must all archivelogs.

    If you want to restore and recover to a point in time, use the SET clause to THAT specify a sequence of the newspaper or time or SNA.  Oracle will then not get beyond that point in time - that is to say he will not seek further archiving logs.

    (Ideally, when you restore an old backup, I also begins to restore the old controlfile, then using this controlfile).

    If you use the FRA in this way

    a. set db_recovery_file_dest_size and db_recovery_file_dest

    b. * not * used a FORMAT clause in the BACKUP command

    Oracle will recognize all backups in the FRA (you can check by querying V$ FLASH_RECOVERY_AREA_USAGE before and after the backup).

    In this case, Oracle can and will automatically purge outdated backups - that is to say any backup older than the retention period, provided that there is at least a L0 or backup complete closest to the retention period.  You should see messages to this effect in the alert of the instance database log file.

  • Restore RMAN backups on another server

    Version: 11gRel 2
    Platform: AIX

    We have been provided to the cold RMAN backup of a DB and was invited to recreate in a new server. After installing the binary files in the new server, that's what I'll do

    Step 1. Create a pfile file (I created it manually, because I do not know what backup piece has spfile and we have no control file autobkp.) I know the name of DB)
    Step 2. Mount the DB using this file with RMAN pfile

    I have a question on step 3 and step 4

    Step 3.
    RMAN> RESTORE CONTROLFILE from 'rman_backup_piecename' to '/rsadat2/prod/config/my_newcontrolfile_name';
    The above command for step 3 is a variation of an order that I read
    http://download.Oracle.com/docs/CD/B19306_01/backup.102/b14192/recov004.htm#CFABADJC

    Will this work?

    Step 4.
    We want to restore the data files to one different location other than the source. Oracle Doc, I found the command to do so below
    SET NEWNAME FOR DATAFILE '/olddisk/users01.dbf' TO '/new_path/file.dbf';
    All data files go to a location in the target database
    /rsadat1/prod/oradata/dbname/
    But it has more than 400 files in the source of the DB, which were located on 4 different file systems. So, in a TEXT Editor, I can't do not a SEARCH and REPLACE for all 400 lines in one.

    Is there a single command by which I could know the new location RMAN to restore?

    If you want to restore traditional as you explained, then Yes, step 3 is correct and should work.
    With respect to see what backup piece contains your control file, then it is actually easy to identify, because the control file and the settings file usually contained in a separate backup element and this backup piece is the smallest in size (around several MB). So just browse by size, you could easily point the backupset containing controlfile. Also, you can use the time stamp of the backup as the controlfile items and spfile are saved at the end.

  • How to restore Rman backups on a different when the structured directory node

    Dear all,

    Have no doubt the concept of backup RMAN restore on another node, I practice one to restore an RMAN backup, I'm following Oracle Metalink ID: 419137.1

    I'm totally confused when I went through the step 9 in this document

    It is:
    9) rename the Redologfiles, so that they can be created in the new locations of the opening of the database is open in resetlogs
    SQL > alter database file rename ' / * node1/database/prod/redo01.log*' to ' / * node2/database/prod/redo01.log*';
    My doubt is: I restore it in a new empty database, already have redo logs and other files in the folder oradata, above mentioned document said to rename!
    I need to rename, how to rename, according to the above statement SQL node1 is a non-existent node, we only saw his backup tracks only. If I rename as the statement above, this I have to give the old location where the redo log was before, or I can give the name, (yes I know it is a logical representation not a physics).

    Someone explain how to represent this log redo my new database.

    Thank you and best regards,

  • Problem restoring previous version of FF bookmarks, "Unable to process the file of backup.", already tried to delete "places.sqlite".

    I reformatted and reinstalled Windows 7 on a computer that has not been used for about a year. Before wiping the HARD drive, I saved Firefox bookmarks in the form of a .json file (I don't know what version of FF was installed on the computer before, but I know it was at least a year).

    After reinstalling Windows and install Firefox 24.0, I tried to restore the bookmarks using the "Bookmarks-> import" and backup-> restore-> Choose File... "option. I get the error says "Failed to process the backup file."

    I tried to search for this problem but I couldn't find anything precise. It sounds ridiculous because I just installed FF, I tried to delete the file "places.sqlite" based on other similar problems, but that did not fix the problem.

    My only thought is that it must be a problem with incompatible versions of FF bookmarks. Is it possible to recover bookmarks in the .json file?

    Oh my god. I removed the comma, who pointed out the error report and file and bookmarks have been restored!

    How this comma go?

  • Problem restoring stuck MacBook Pro system and time machine

    This morning my retina MBP (El Cap 10.11.4, updated about a week ago) has frozen. It was working fine yesterday, but wake from sleep this morning nothing would go, apps wouldn't start, nothing, so I rebooted. He got about a third of the way between the progress bar white on black screen and hung with a spinning wheel.

    Then I tried to secure boot and made me to the login screen, but it still turns after that I entered the password. (The guest account and the other I put in place but rarely use seem to work well, it's just me hanging). Reset NVRAM made no difference.

    Then I went to recovery mode and has conducted an audit of disk first aid, who reported no problems. So, I used the disk utility to make a disk image to backup to an external drive and then to the Time Machine system restore. However, it asks for the password for 'System administrator' and rejects everything I try. The TC is configured as "Discs safe with accounts" (not ' device password') and there are two custom accounts and the wifi password. I can't check my backup settings now, but I think that it is only for my account, so I wonder if even is a system restore file. I would try to change the airport disk access settings but I'm afraid it will just trash my backups.

    Suggestions for free my Mac or enter the system restore (or restore just my account) until I try a reinstall?

    Satellite C660-115 my niece has a problem and I want to make it usable for its Christmas.

    Turning on the power of the computer, which gives as a result the message: * can not find the operating system ', so I tried the system restore by pressing first the 0 key and after numerous tests, changing the order of the boot and the other (with F2 or F12)... ". But there was nothing.

    From there on, I realized that I couldn't go any further without original recovery DVD from Toshiba. So I ordered last Saturday and got today Thursday. After as indicated by Toshiba (boot sequence starts on the CD player), the system begins to load (Windows is loading files...) offer the available languages on a beautiful table, and then choose window .dropoff...

    So, until then, everything seemed to be going as it should, is that by clicking on the 'next' button to validate my choice of language, only an error message appears in a dialog box named RecoGUI:
    ERROR:. _INFO IOCTL_GET_DISK_LENGTH------------PHYSICALDRIVE0 the device is not ready.
    When I press OK, then it's in French:
    Hard drive # 0 is not available or bad RAID configuration!

    I still press OK (I have too much choice) and then submit the next window restoration which requires me to validate the language of the operating system to install... French (Windows Win 7)
    and the States: the current size of the restoration is: Expert Mode

    Yet once I click OK and a warning box tells me that: all hard drives will be completely erased. Do you want to continue?

    OK... and cmd prompt appears who says (in brief)
    Looking for the car not mounted V: V drive...
    Ckecking to the C: drive... C: disassembled!
    ending with: ERROR files copy of database recovery failed.
    Press a key to continue (if I do, I find the Toshiba screen and invites another cmd telling;

    Waiting for WEIRD to become available...
    STRANGE D: drive ready.
    Check for support in drive D; ...
    Continue...
    DrvLoad: Successfully loaded X:------Windows \ inf-battery.inf.
    No RAID - continues normally...
    Installation in progress...
    Press any key to continue... and if I do, then placed below:

    X: \ Windows-system32 >

    That's where I stayed, because I always come back to the same thing.
    If anyone could be kind enough to help me solve this problem?
    Many thanks in advance...

  • Problem restoring from Time Machine complex

    BACKGROUND:

    I never tried to do a restore from Time Machine.

    PROBLEM:

    2009 iMac internal drive is unreadable. *

    Previously saved on Time Machine before the problem of disk internal.

    Replaced the internal drive with 500 GB ssd

    When I try to restore the iMac via Time Machine, after providing the Time Capsule password, I get the following error:

    "There was a problem connecting to the server"Xxxx - airport-Time Capsule.local.""  Contact your system administrator.

    When I try to connect the iMac to time Capsule, which sees the iMac, after providing the Time Capsule password, I find myself in the same place above.

    When I try to use the Migration Wizard, same result.

    * I am told by the technology that has installed the new SSD, the system on the old internal drive is corrupt... but the data files are always accessible if the old drive is installed in an external enclosure that appropriate connector and wiring.

    Then... :

    1. How can I check the Time Capsule password?

    2. What is the answer to ' there was a problem connecting to the server "Xxxx - airport-Time Capsule.local." "  Contact your system administrator. » ???

    3. what other methods can I use to restore the backup?

    1. How can I check the Time Capsule password?

    The password is fully accessible using a soft reset.

    Press the reset button on the TC 1 s (that is, between 1-3 s).

    All passwords will be at default for 5 min.

    You can access the passwords via airport utility... No other router in the world, it is so easy and, therefore, has such low security like the Apple.

    Everything is revealed.

    2. What is the answer to ' there was a problem connecting to the server "Xxxx - airport-Time Capsule.local." "  Contact your system administrator. » ???

    The correct answer is $$ @ # $% * (! TC darn stupid..!)

    There's a good chance you have permissions issues. This makes life that little bit more difficult, but all will be revealed.

    I highly recommend you plug the TC by ethernet on the computer and do a full factory reset on it... and then set it to the top of all operating system has been installed on the iMac.

    No files are lost on the hard drive and you will delete all the other problems.

    So if you can't access the backup, it really is a permissions problem.

    3. what other methods can I use to restore the backup?

    Connect the original on the Mac disk using a USB key on his birthplace of SATA. See if you can get your files directly from the original source.

    You can also do something similar... Buy a USB... format correctly in Mac extended if it isn't already... and connect it to the TC... didn't check the TC on the disk. In any case, it's a good idea to protect your backup. You have to start no new backups on top of the old before you get your files.

    Plug this drive into the iMac and set permissions... you can not do this TB... only with the drive connected locally. You should then be able to access the backup.

    Migration is the best way to make the transfer, assuming that you have loaded a new computer specific OS...

    Just be careful of issues using a different user or the same user as the original computer.

    See here the instructions of Migration... which are a little outdated but show details much more than what apple has documented.

  • Problem restoring system after malware infection

    I have Windows XP and my system was infected with Maleware, I tried to go to the System Restore section, but when I get to the part where it asks me to choose a date to restore there is no available dates! Is there another way to restore my system?

    If you think that your system has a malicious software on it, you can think twice using one of your Restore Points... but you can probably resolve the issue if your symptom is an empty SR calendar.  Here's how:

    If your system restore page display only the title bar 'System Restore' or your user accounts settings page don't watch the title bar of "User accounts" and the screen where information needs to be is an empty white box, and/or your Windows Search function shows just Rover (the animated search dog)...

    System Restore is a frequent target of attacks by malicious software.  If SR was working before and is now afflicted, run some scans and then fix any problems.

    Remember that the system restore is not a time machine.

    Your system is currently or has been reached by malicious software.

    You can now fix the symptom and scanning for malware later, or you can now find malware and fix the remains later.  I recommend just fixing the symptom of the empty page and forget to do the scans.  The symptom of the problem of fixing and fixing the problem are two different things.

    Download, install, update and do a full scan with these free malware detection programs:

    Malwarebytes (MMFA): http://malwarebytes.org/
    SUPERAntiSpyware: (SAS): http://www.superantispyware.com/

    They can be uninstalled later if you wish.

    The scans using own it may also be necessary to re-register some dll (or you can do this part first, but you still have to do the scans).

    Just fix the immediate question:

    Looks like your file jscript.dll became somehow not registered so you can re-record it.

    There are probably a few other things that do not work you know yet, so fix them all at once.

    Re-registration of these DLLs is correct, even if they do not need renewal.  You can also re-register the dll before the scans that can solve the problem, but the scans are always recommended.

    Click Start, run, and in the box enter orders following one at a time.  Click the OK button to execute each command one at a time.

    regsvr32 jscript.dll
    regsvr32 vbscript.dll
    regsvr32 /i mshtml.dll (it's a look of slash)

    The last order for mshtml load the DLL but can also contain a harmless warning depending on your environment.

  • Problem restoring from backup files

    Because I had to reformat, I tried for days restore files from backups. Backups are on a removable hard drive, I have: who is connected to my computer, and I can see the files by right-clicking on the folder.

    So I go to the center of backup and restore, click on restore files and get the message, "There is no backup on this computer." (Even though I know there are).
    If I click on advanced restore and restore files from another computer and check files from a backup made on a different computer. I'm sailing on the 'I' in the car. In the Date and time column, he later shows several backups, but in the other column, it says: "backup location is not available."
    How can I get the program to recognize that the "I" drive is, in fact, connected to the computer?

    I gave up and called the neighborhood guru. He discovered that it is possible, by searching the backup files, to copy the selected files directly in the records desired on the main drive, without going through the restore function. I don't know why it works like this, but I get back my files. Thank you for all the time spent on my problem.
