  • Problems with fonts in Indesign

I did a new install of 10.5 currently, as well as standard CS4.

I now have problems with police in my Indesign templates. I am sure that I installed all the fonts I have before but I always get errors of police.

I have problems with the fonts have a (TT) behind their names such as Helvetica (TT).

I'm guessing that the fonts are True Type?

Any ideas of what I could do wrong?

Since I'm quite a few models I would rather not repair by yourself.

    Thanks in advance!

There are 3 types of fonts, Adobe Type I (at least 2 files for each policy with extensions *.pfb and *.pfm), (with extension *.ttf) TrueType and open Type.

And behold, I'm quite sure your problem. Open Type fonts can be found with the extension *.otf AND the spirit of expansion *.ttf. And InDesign makes the difference between OTF and TTF.

When you made the models, you have used TrueType. Somewhere between yesterday and today, you have reinstalled the police. But not the TrueType version. I guess that the version of OTF (with extension *.ttf).

    3 solutions:

    1. Reinstall the police TrueType version (and don't forget it's TrueType and non OpenType with extension *.ttf)
    2. in InDesign (in each file, sorry), replace the font (say) [TT] ARIAL ARIAL with what ever you have installed
    3. If you have (for example new Arial) installed, ignore the warning, InDesign uses the version of the font you have installed (it will look the same), but it will continue to warn you

However, I recommend the first or the second solution, they are the safest.

  • Problems with fonts in InDesign CS3 in Snow Leopard

Has anyone else had problems with the font book and InDesign CS3?

Just had some new Mac Mini running Snow Leopard against Migration Assistant an old Mini. Initially, every thing seems to be great. But on the opening of the ads in Indd CS3 I noticed that fonts disappeared, even if they have been enabled in the font book.

Then I reinstalled the necessary fonts and we don't use iLife and iTools products, I traded the Helvetica TrueType for the version of Adobe.

    It does not work...

So, I have rebuilt the Mac fonts installed, once again, a CD original and installed InDesign CS3 clean (orig DVD)...

Yet once again, did not work.

Now, I know I can put fonts required in the folder Fonts in InDesign, or store them in ~/Library/Fonts, but since we have a library of 3000 + policies that manage our users with the font book, it will become unworkable.

Anyone could launch a patch or fix this, another way...?

There is a Snow Leopard update, you will need to search in preferences/software update system after the upgrade. After the reboot, this problem has been elminated for me, fortunately!

Will there be transparency on the page?

It looks like the effect 'breach' common when there is transparency on a page. It shows on the screen and in preints of low resolution, but not, in my opinion, out of press.

  • HP Officejet 6600: problem with the printer or ink system

I have a HP Officejet 6600. I replaced the black cartridge with a new HP black ink cartridge. This message keeps poping up, there is a problem with the printer or ink system. Turn the printer off, then on. If the problem persists, contact HP. It gives me as two solutions. Solution 1: Reset the product. Turn the product off, and then unplug the power cord. Plug in the power cord and then press the key to activate the product. I've done this three times. Second solution: contact HP support note the error code provided in the email (I looked and it does not give me one) then he says, supported to contact Hp. go to: www.hp.com/support. Needless to say that this message keeps appearing on the screen of the printer and I can't do anything with the printer. Can anyone help with an idea? Please, I beg you.

    Hey @popcorn101,

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support!

I understand that you get the error "printer failure: there is a problem with the printer or ink system' on the front panel of your HP Officejet 6600 e-all-in-one printer.". Thanks for the troubleshooting steps that you received before reaching out for support, including. Right now, you have completed all the troubleshooting steps available in your efforts to solve this error in accordance with the document of support here. The failure itself is probably due to a failure of the print head. The print head is the part that the cartridges will fit. It controls the "reading" of the cartridges and put the ink on the page. If the print head does not, then the printing within your product system has failed. In this model of printer print head is a non-replaceable. Therefore, the resolution is a replacement of the entire unit.

I highly recommend at this stage that you contact our Technical Support telephone queue for discover hardware replacement options.

  • ERROR MESSAGE HP6700 - PROBLEM WITH THE PRINTER OR INK SYSTEM CONTACT HP

I JUST BOUGHT A HP OFFICEJET 6700 (LESS THAN 1 WEEK), THE PROBLEM OF PRINTER OR INK SYSTEM MESSAGE, TURN PRINTER OFF THEN WE IF THE PROBLEM CONTINUES CONTACT HP. IS DISPLAYED ON THE PRINTER SCREEN. I DID EVERYTHING SUGGESTED, AND MORE MORE, BUT THIS CUSTOM MESSAGE CLEARLY.  ALL DIAGNOSES OF THE PRINTER THE PRINTER IS FINE.  THE OPERATING SYSTEM IS WINDOWS 7.

    Mahamoud,
Your article made a walkthrough basic troubleshooting, ending with the question if the print head is repairable. Because it is not on the 6700, the article isn't really the problem.

Here is the solution I found to this problem:
I discovered that eliminating all ink cartridges allows the printer at startup (although there is a message saying the missing print cartridges).
Putting the cartridges in a binary regression revealed that the ink has been bad. (In my case, I only got the message of failure/printer ink when the yellow cartridge was in the printer).
Replacement of the restored cartridge the printer functionality.
    That's the good news.
Now the bad news: for HP.
The generic error message indicates a failure with the printer or the ink system. No differentiation. With the electronics in the cartridges (that the client pays a high price for), looks that HP could not understand how to indicate a cartridge problem. This error message is not only unnecessary, but misleading. The printer indicates only a power reset and then contact HP. There is no indication that he might be a cartridge problem, not to mention what cartridge has failed. By the way, my customer encountered this problem when you replace the color cartridges. The cartridge failed was a new replacement.
All of the web enabled features, fax, scanning features, print included with this printer are not very useful if the user can't get the dang thing to print.
Another problem with this printer, is that, even when you only print in b & W, the printer uses little color (ostensibly make Blacks more "BOLD"). Then, finally, a color cartridge will go low or empty, even if only B & W printing. And guess what, you can't continue to print n & B if one of the color cartridges are out of ink. Thus, HP... How is this useful printer in an office environment, where most print tends to be B & W?

(I would add; the solution in the message of failure/printer ink cartridge cannot fix your problem if, in fact, there are a few default printer. But if the problem is in the ink system, then the troubleshooting cartridge can help you).
I have posted similar comments on Amazon, for this printer, in the subject line: shame on you, HP.

Hi guys. I had this printer 4 months ago and it worked as wonderful. But this weekend when I turned it on the error "There is a problem with this printer" appeared right after it connected to my wireless network.

I did several tests and the error comes only if the network is connected to the internet.

When it is not connected to the internet fine print (prints, scans, all via wifi) jobs.

I have a MAC and airport Time Capsule.

  • HP Officejet 5740: there is a problem with the printer

Every day the printer (not standby) turns on and shows "there is a problem with the printer. Turn the printer off, then on. "why what is happening every day?

This problem got solved, later. Although tech hp sent me the ink HPInstant and that they "reset" of my printer, the error message returned in a few days and continues every day. Another call to Tech Support/InstantInk advised me to return the printer for an Exchange (it's 60 miles a way back). We decided to install Instant ink cartridges, as a last resort to resolve the error messages, and it worked. No error message. I put the original ink cartridges in the printer I can use those to the top. Still no error message and this printer now works well. PERSONAL OPINION: When we enrolled in instantink, hp tried to contact our printer via wireless (whatever) and when it failed an error occurred every DAY, after the installation of the instant ink cartridges a connection has been established at hpinstantink have finished the registration process.
