Problem with HP LaserJet 1020 printer share

I have a HP LaserJet 1020, installed on a desktop computer (with Windows 7 32-bit) connected via USB. Print from this computer works well. The printer is shared on the network. Anyone who uses a laptop computer (with Windows 7 64-bit) sees the printer and installed as a network printer. But each try to print anything end the same way. The printed document is in queue - appears in the list on the office computer printouts, but the printer does not print anything. This includes documents, test pages, everything. It is also difficult to remove the document from the print queue, you must restart your computer to be able to do this effectively. Please help me with the correct configuration of the printer.

The next document in support of HP titled "unable to print? Print jobs are stuck in the print queue' can help (it includes a reference to a network connection as well):

  • HP 1020 laser jet: the hp laserjet 1020 printer is compatible with windows 10

I deleted the printer & he reloaded several times, updated computer and always gives me error code "printer could not print Microsoft Word (document name).

    Bradhartsoe

    Hello;

Let me welcome you on the HP forums!

To answer your question, YES, it is compatible with Win10 - but you must use the HP software and drivers, not the one that is provided by Microsoft.

Here are the drivers and the software for your printer page: http://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/HP-LaserJet-1020-Printer-series/439423/model/3329726

You must download and install full feature software and drivers for the printer.

Remove all the drivers and software that Microsoft install for the printer.

Then unplug the printer and install the software.

Do reconnect the printer until the installation program invited to do so.

Once the installation is complete, restart.

You should then be able to use your printer in Win10.

    Good luck

    Hey @Robert61,

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support!

I understand you are trying to download the drivers for your Laserjet 1020 printer on a single computer, burn the drivers to a DVD player and install it on another computer. It should work without any problems.

  • Problem with HP LaserJet Enterprise 500 MFP M525

Hello, I have a problem with my printer LaserJet. 49.38.11 error on the printer and it rebooted several times. Can you help me with this?

P.S. This thread has been moved from LaserJet MFP and all-in-one - HP's Forums moderator

Maybe a "corrupt" impression containing poorly formatted PCL who cannot deal with the trainer.

If you unplug the printer from the network and USB (if applicable), then poweer-cycle of the unit, the same thing happens?

If so, this would imply a flaw with the printer.

If this isn't the case, it implies that a rogue print job is sent to the printer each time that it is powered - on, which causes a fatal error in the printer, which restarts automatically, and the process then begins again.

  • Problems with nine LaserJet 1102w

I've had my LaserJet 1102w for two days now, and I'm so far regretting buying and considering it return.  Here's why:

    1. it turns off automatically after 10 minutes and do not print after that until someone manually pushed the power button.

    2. when it is turned on, it will display only the first inch of a given page (Config test included integrated page), then it is the orange light flashes.  If you stop and then turn it on again, try again, and then turn market a SECOND time, it will print normally.

    3. it consisitantly fails to print "big" files (I quote because he isn't that great... i.e. a 32 MB PDF)-they gets stuck and require a complete restart of the printer.

Is the only issue that I don't see to have fall wireless... which is good because we have not ALL wired devices in our House (which is why I bought this printer... most of the devices are iOS, but I'm working on Win7 laptop at the moment).

I would love some advice or help get this printer to work.

    Thank you!

    * EDIT: I did so, it is updated the firmware lasted and I use the driver to date, both gets on the HP site.

This looks like a problem with the mode 'sleep' on the printer.  There are a few things you can do to try and fix this problem.  First of all, make sure that the printer is connected directly to a wall outlet.  If you plug it into a surge arrester, power strip, or rescued food, it can prevent the printer to get enough power.  If this is correct, then proceed to try the steps in the document following the link.  If nothing works, contact HP to see on a replacement printer, or return the printer to where you bought it, be it, you need to replace the printer.

The printer will not turn on or respond

  • Someone out there who has an ongoing problem with 7 refusing to print, even after that the driver was abandoned and re-installed?

I have a Toshiba laptop that runs Windows 7 with an HP printer 6 L. I am running Open Office 4.0.0 and the latest version of Adobe Reader. To date, that the system is undesirable! The 6L display test endless pages but refuses to print anything out of system 7. I dropped 6 L Driver, registry & file cleaned up and optimized the system and then reloaded the driver off of the HP site but the system refuses to print. I even went up to turn off the printer for more than 24 hours to try to get the printer to the reduction in the memory and empty the memory to zero to try to kickstart the printer to pick up the 7 material systems. Up to present all this for nothing. 6L memory is fixed at 1 024 Ko and the document larger than I tried to print has been 136 k so the memory capacity must be nothing. Anyone, anyone, outhere who can help, please. I'm ready at this stage to give up the printer with an AX, since it is now beyond the frustration and get into madness! I must also stress that the 7 system also creates a (1 copy) in the printer Panel. There is no need too!

  • Problem with the HP P2055DN printer.

I use printer mentioned above often print 2-sided documents. The printer is connected RJ45 print router-switch and laptop sent by wireless LAN. After a few days (2-4) the printer in Control Panel 'forgets' duplex. I have to go into the control panel and enable the setting of the duplex to "installed". It works just fine a few days and the problem recurs.

    Can someone help me?

I have the same problem with a 2605DN

I have not tested but the key "Reg" is HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Print\Printers\HP Color LaserJet 2605 PCL6 class Driver\DsDriver, which has a printduplexsupported value that should be set to 01. If you set it in the printer driver, and then save the key "reg" by exports then right-click on DSdriver in the left panel, it will give you a file, you can double-click to set up the key as part of your departure or office.

If you have a single stand-alone computer while you do not have a network or
    a homegroup.

OEM for the printer manufacturer is responsible for the proper functioning of the printer
and their drivers. Check with the printer manufacturer's support, their online
documentation and drivers and ask in their forums.

Good luck, you need to update or reinstall the latest driver.
