• Satellite C660-28 d - problem "Load driver" with the new HARD drive

  I have a Toshiba Satellite C660-28 t.

  The hard drive has failed. I called Toshiba Support who send me a replacement.

  However in the meantime I was going to put in my spare hard drive and do a fresh install of another operating system that I have a spare for (Win 7) key.

  However, I can't past the screen "Loading Drivers" as the laptop came with driver disks.
  I can't find the drivers on the Toshiba site (I tried some drivers intel which I thought were good, but he says they were not signed and all comes down to the loading screen drivers).

  I have made the recovery discs, but obviously can not use them on the new hard drive as it doesn't have the recovery partition.

  Any ideas on where I can get the proper drivers from?

  If you have a recovery disk using Toshiba preinstalled recovery media creator tool, you just have to boot from that disk to begin the installation.

• I have problems added books on the new IMac

  I installed ADE on a PC running windows 7 and it works fine.

  I installed ADE on a new Mac and when I try and add a book I downloaded in the library in the ADE, it shows me the books I downloaded but they are greyed out and I can't select any of them?

  Is the only way I'm able to import books outside of the ADE. I have to navigate to the downloads folder, find the book and click on it. It is then important book in ADE.

  On Mac, I just want to be able to read it on the computer and transferred to a reader. I'll put this in place for an older person.

  This is meaningless, as it should work as easily as on the PC?

  Maybe someone can chime in on this point, as I'm not as familiar with MAC I am with PC and wonder if I missed something.

  If so, you have allowed the Mac with the same Adobe ID as you authorized the PC and the acquired books?

• ITunes problem previous library playing on the new iMac 4K

  I just bought an iMac nine 4K El Capitan 10.11.1 running with iTunes 12.3.2.35. I also bought an iPad opportunity Air 2 out of glideslope. IPad is strictly for the use of music that I am a musician. Since I am unable to "migrate", I copied my old iTunes library on a hard drive, external, built of new playlists on the new iMac and then downloaded on the new iPad. (The HD was only a way to transfer the music.)

  It's just a few of the songs on the iPad part - but they all play in iTunes on the iMac. As you can imagine it's very frustrating because I spent two great to finally have a platform of music to date.

  Does anyone out there have a solution to this problem. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Especially of Kenichi Watanabe, who has been most helpful.

• Problem of strange color InDesign on the new iMac, retina 27 inches

  My old iMac 27 suddenly descended upon me and I replaced it with the new iMac 27 retina.

  Now, I have the strangest kind of problem of color I've ever met, but so far only InDesign. I him have not seen in Photoshop, Lightroom, Bridge, online or in any other thing with pictures.

  Sometimes, the images on InDesign look exactly as they should. Sometimes, the pictures same look flat and washed out. Other times, super saturated.

  The same image can look flat and washed out, then move just before my eyes Super saturated! Later he might well go flat again. So the next time I did scroll, look just... and so on...

  In theory, this should not affect my final print product - the same pictures look just the way they are supposed to when opened in InDesign in Photoshop, but it's really aggravating and annoying. I would like my InDesign product to watch on screen as close to what goes in their print job real as possible, even if the only place it really counts is what it looks like in Photoshop.

  Anyone know what is happening? Is that what I can do about it?

  If you place RGB images with colors that are out of the CMYK range, they will be implemented in the document CMYK if you turn on preview of overlay/separation or if a page has any transparent object and your transparencies fusion space is CMYK.

  But what you describe seems more random, so you can try to reset your preferences and trashing your cache of InDesign folder

• Problem of calibration of mouse with the new iMac

  I recently bought one of the new iMacs with the retina display and installed VMware Fusion 5 on it with Windows 7.  The iMac is 10.8 running and is 64-bit.  My problem I notice is that when you start Windows, the mouse inside the virtual machine does not reach the edges.  For example, I'm not able to reach the start menu or the taskbar at the bottom of the screen.  If an application is opened in full screen, I can't reach the toolbars at the top or close the application.  It seems as if the mouse is not calibrated to the correct resolution as I can only move the mouse in say 50-75 pixels of any edge, before it breaks on the virtual machine.  The attached image shows what I mean.  The red line is pretty close to the edge, the mouse is capable of doing before stopping the virtual machine.  I have not installed VMware Tools.  I used another iMac with VMware Fusion 5 and that you did not run this issue before.

  When I try to run my copy of InDesign CS4, I get the error message:

  Adobe online support team have said that they are unable to help.

  And set the permissions on the appropriate files. The rest is between you and your Mac - what about Adobe are, that CS4 is not officially compatible with Yoesemite.

• kernel_task slow down the new iMac 27 "5K to a crawl

  I've owned my new iMac (OSX El Capitan 10.11.4) for more than 4 months now and have had no complaints other than those sometimes caused by the limited installed 8 GB of memory (an upgrade to 32 GB is on order).  Suddenly last week, I noticed my machine slows down considerably and heats up. Check activity monitor, I have seen that kernel_task took 200 to 400% of the CPU.  Despite the heat, I noticed that I could not hear the fan running, so I downloaded Mac Fan Control indicating the fan did not work - I took it in the center of authorized Service Apple and they confirmed that indeed the fan did not work and ordered me a new one that I expect.  I'm not sure that the fan has never worked - as I remember ever heard - I naively thought the new iMacs are just quieter.

  In the meantime, I'm trying to understand what is causing the problem kernel_task.   I noticed it uses very little CPU on most boot-up until I have load Lightroom (I'm a photographer and use this app heavily) after which zoomed up to more than 200% kernel_task, video playback has the same effect.   However, if I use only my browser for the e-mail and listening to iTunes kernel_task remains down on the only figure of % CPU and machine stay cool.   The person I talked to Apple's Service said she has seen this before and the solution was to do a clean reinstall of the operating system.   I want to save as a last resort - after setting of the fan and installing more memory.    I wonder if heat build-up missing a fan has an effect on kernel_task or help to have more memory?  In any case this is the report of EtreCheck:

  Bad fan is the cause. The machine is to be limited to avoid overheating.

• I can't set up email on the new iMac

  I don't know what is happening, but when I try to configure my e-mail account in the e-mail program on my new iMac, I get back a message that the email already exists.  However, enter the mail program to try to put in place shows clearly that he is not there at all.   Mac users often ask if they should install "anti-virus" (AV) or software "anti-malware". The answer is 'no', but it can give the false impression that there is no threat of what is loosely called 'virus '. There is a threat.

  1. it is a comment on what you should - and should not-do to protect you from malicious software ("malware") that runs on the Internet and gets onto a computer as an unintended consequence of the user's actions.

  It does not apply to the software, such as keyloggers, which can be installed deliberately by an intruder who has convenient access to the computer, or who has been able to take control of it remotely. This threat is in a different category, and there is no easy way to defend against it. AV software is not intended to and does not, to defend against these attacks.

  The comment is long because the issue is complex. The essential points are in articles 5 and 11.

  OS X implements now three levels of integrated protection specifically against malware, not to mention the protections of runtime such as quarantine the file, execute disable, sandbox, protecting the integrity of system, System Library randomization and randomized address space layout , which can also prevent other kinds of exploits.

Versions of obsolete systems security may eventually be affected. Updates to security for the code of obsolete systems will be stop being released at any given time, and which can leave them open to other types of attack in addition to malware.

  3. starting with the OS X 10.7.5, there was a second layer of built-in malware protection, designated "Gatekeeper" by Apple.   For the reasons given, App Store, and, to a lesser extent - other applications recognized by signed Gatekeeper, are safer than others, but they cannot be considered to be absolutely sure. "Sand" applications could make to access to private data, such as your contacts, or for access to the network. Think that before granting access. Security sandbox is based on user input. Never click through any application for leave without thinking.

  4. by starting with OS X 10.8.3, a third layer of protection has been added: a "Malware Removal Tool" (MRT). MRT runs automatically in the background.   Software from a reliable source

  ☞ Software with a brand, such as Adobe Flash Player, does not come directly from the Web site. Don't be fooled an alert of any website for updating Flash, or your browser, or other software. A real alert that Flash is outdated and blocked is shown on this support page. In this case, follow the instructions on the support page. Furthermore, assume that the alert is false and that someone is trying to rip you off to install malicious software. If you see these alerts on more than one Web site, ask for instructions.

  ☞ Software any is distributed via BitTorrent or Usenet, or on a Web site that distributes pirated music and movies.

  ☞ Rogue sites Web such as CNET Download MacUpdate, Soft32, Softonic and SourceForge distribute free applications that have been packaged in a superfluous "install".

  Unexpected events

  ☞ a file is downloaded automatically when you visit a web page, without any further action on your part. delete any file without opening it.

  ☞ You open what you think, it is a document and you receive an alert that it is "an application downloaded from the Internet." Click Cancel and delete the file. Even if you don't get the alert, you must always remove any download that is not what you expected it to be.

  ☞ An application does something you don't expect, such as permission to access your contacts, your location or the Internet without obvious reason.
