Problems of mouse with display port 1.2 in MST (display 4K)

With macOS Sierra, there is a strange thing with 4K display connected via DisplayPort DP 1.2 STD mode (required for the 60 Hz refresh rate).

As the screen is divided into two screens sub in this mode - mouse behaved differently on each half of the screen. It seems that the right side of the screen has offset of mouse close to 50 pixels.

With mode DP 1.1 standard there not such a phenomenon.

My hardware is: MacBook Pro 15 "end 2013, display: DELL UP2414Q

BR,

Pawel.

Hi Emmanuelle RLAP Guraj,

I understand that your mouse works differently when you use it on the right side of your external display Dell. You can try to adjust the display settings of your system preferences and also check your display Accessibility settings.

macOS Sierra: show the pane of the system preferences of monitors

macOS Sierra: show the pane of system accessibility preferences

I also reset the NVRAM.  How to reset the NVRAM on your Mac.

What is NVRAM?

A small amount of memory on your computer called "non-volatile random - access memory" or NVRAM, stores certain settings in a location that OS X can access quickly. Settings that are stored in NVRAM are dependent on the type of Mac you use and the types of devices on it.

If none of the above resolves the problem, try to start the Mac upward in Mode safe mode to see if the problem exists. Try safe mode if your Mac does not start-up

What is safe mode?

Safe mode (sometimes called secure boot) is a way to start up your Mac so that it performs certain checks and prevents certain software from loading automatically or opening. From your Mac in safe mode does the following:
Check your startup disk and attempts to fix problems if necessary directory
Loads needed kernel extensions only
Prevents elements start and the login items open automatically
Disables the user installed fonts
Delete font caches, hiding the kernel and other files of the system cache
Together, these changes can help resolve or isolate issues related to your startup disk.

These measures should have your mouse works as it should show everything using your external Mac OS Sierra. Please use the Apple Support communities to post your question.

Good day.

    Hello

I have a problem with my laptop, with my USB ports.

A few days ago, I plugged my mp3 to charge its battery. I did when system Windows began and after a few ports seconds has stopped working. They work for one to five minutes after starting my computer, but only after my laptop's turn off for a few hours at night for example.

They work fine and all of a sudden we hear the sound of a disconnected device and usb ports turns off. I tried many solutions but nothing worked. I removed all the USB ports in Device Manager.

I checked in the BIOS, but everything seems to be okay. I tried to disable the disconnection of usb ports to save energy, nothing. Tools that have been provided by Toshiba to check hardware see as usb ports work correctly. Only usbdview program sees as unknown device, I tried to uninstall it through this program but still nothing.

You have an idea, what could happen? Or if there is no possibility to fix without service visit?
    I would appreciate your help.

    Hello

Have you tested these ports USB plug a USB mouse or a USB keyboard?
    These devices work properly?

I don t think you need a visit to the service.
I think that it s just a software problem
Given that the USB ports are controlled by the chipset, I would recommend reinstalling/updating the chipset driver

The alternative is a bit drastic, I think about the recovery of the laptop...
It might be possible that the registry has been confused upward or some 3rd party software preinstalled on the laptop could affect the USB ports.

I remember that my USB ports do not work after installing iTunes.
I had to reinstall the operating system once more to get the USB port work even more funny is that I installed iTunes once more and USB worked correctly

  • Problem of mouse position with rescue CD distributions

I am running WS7.1.4 on Fedora 15. Everything works fine on various guests that I'm running off of virtual disks.

Now, I want to resize a partition on a hard drive in XP, so I downloaded Knoppix to do the job. When I boot it upward, the mouse moves normally, but the pointer is on the right and down where is the real mouse and it will use only part of the screen. I also tried System Rescue CD and get the same mouse problems. It is only by using a classic USB mouse.

I have watched a few of problems of mouse-related messages and didn't find anything clear on this issue.

I would like to use the latest GParted Live, but you will have the same mouse so problem to solve, you can try the following:

Temporarily the value of the Type of the guest OS Linux and then try.

If this does not work then temporarily remove the virtual computer USB controller and that will definitely fix the problem with the mouse.  Don't forget to add the USB controller if you use this method.

There are also changes of configuration setting .vmx that can be done beyond that temporarily affecting the Type of guest OS Linux, but they are necessary only if this does not work and or you must have the USB controller to access a USB at the same time in the Virtual Machine.

    Hi Marcel,.

I'm not entirely sure why you have a problem with deleting a VLAN Trunk.

This action gives you an error?

    Or these parameters automatically reappear?

It would be wise to consider in details, so I suggest you open the ticket with Cisco Small Business Support team:

  • Communication with Serial Port

    Hello

Hi I have a request that I should communicate with serial port...

Its works perfectly if gives you all parameters to com as constants (pls hav a look @ codea).

But I want to read the port number and baud RRSP file text. When I changed the encoding in serial number

setting, I was not able to find the number rate.it and port baud displayed as the size of memory buffer. I think that the way I connected the baud rate and port number to the clusture may be a problem (pls see codeb). How can I solve this problem?

    Thanks in advance...

Again, the point of connection to the Central Terminal is not not to define the values contained in the cluster - just the logical structure of the cluster. The data that appears in the cluster from the budler will reflect the data that you read from the file. Try it.

  • Can we hide/show the mouse with an Action or Script?

    Hi all

I'm developing a simulation using boxes to click in Captivate 4, on Windows XP. If the user clicks in the right place, the slide continues and shows the user what to do. If the user clicks on the exact spot, the simulation goes directly to the next slide. The problem is, successful or not, when the user moves to the next slide, saved the mouse pointer displayed on the slide. If I hide the mouse, then it remains hidden, even if the user clicks outside the box too many times and the simulation continues to show the user what to do. It's like things on the screen just select or click on themselves.

I know the visibility of the mouse is used differently in the timeline to other objects. This isn't a particularly big deal, as long as there is a way to control the visibility of the mouse for simulations (one of the main points of sale of Captivate). Is there a way to control the visibility of the mouse with an Action or Script?

The current settings for my click boxes are:

    clickbox_settings.png

I tried to assign an Action (several actions, really) to hide, display, activate or deactivate the mouse but the mouse doesn't seem to be available to do!

    action_settings_show_w_droplist_rsz.png

    Am I missing something?

    Thank you

    ~ jeff

    Jeff,

No problem, looks like an argument anyway you look at it. With the idea of image of concealment, just to clarify, you shouldn't have to reframe the context if you can get out with the help of the entire background graphic. All your background images are already in the library of backgrounds folder, so if you drag and drop the background image of the library on the slide, you can instantly use it as a picture rather than just a background image object.

Just a thought, again in the case that it helps.

  • Problem: read bytes to serial port

Hello, I need to communicate with an external device with serial port. I have to write a command to my device string, and then it should play with 64 bytes of data. I built a function of READING-WRITING and I use it in a loop (I have to read a lot of 64-byte block)

Sometimes, I have the following problem:

    (1) I have send the command string, I wait with "Bytes to the serial port" whereas I have more then 60 bytes, then I read.

    (2) sometimes happen that the read function cannot read all 64 bytes, so the net for cycle, I have in the receiver buffer mor than 64 and the program to stop working. (does not work well)

I need to be sure that after writing the command I have 64 bytes, so I red all the 64 bytes so the next loop for, I have the buffer of the empty receiver.

I enclose my writing reading function. Please refer to the block diagram (there are a few notes).

    Thank you

In no place in your program see the VISA configure the Serial Port. It's always a good idea to include this that even if you use the default settings. I suspect this is one of the default settings which is wrong with you. By default, playback is set to end when a character is considered. This means that if you have a 10 hex (ASCII LF) in your stream, playback stops until the specified number of bytes is read. Put in a VISA set up the Serial Port and connect a constant False to the stop character allow entry.

  • Provided mouse with Touchsmart - set preferences

With regard to the mouse that came with my PC of the Touchsmart 600 series...

On my mouse Logitech (Wireless Trackball) I can set it so that when I click on the scroll wheel, it works as the ENTER key.  It's so convenient because I don't have to move my hand to the mouse to keyboard over and over.  To do this on my Logitech, I'll where preferences are set for the scroll wheel and one of the options is "Typing assignment" I put next to the ENTER key.

Does anyone know if I can also put the HP wireless mouse (which came with my Touchsmart 600) this way so that when I click the scroll wheel down, it acts as an ENTER key?

If not, can someone explain what is supposed to happen when I click on the scroll wheel?  (I don't speak scroll with it, but clicking down.)  As far as I know, nothing happens in the current configuration.

Thanks in advance for any help.

    Hello kteolo:

Open pannel setting click on in the upper right, where it says view by: click and switch to veiw in small icons now, every thing is now displayed. Go down the list until you find the icon mouse. Click on this, and when you change your mouse settings to. O.K. Now, I have not seen what you're asking on the Enter key. I don't understand what really does turn the locking click if that's what you are referring.

You know that you can always use your Logitech mouse with this computer so more keyboard Logitech. If the mouse comes with a stall on the disk drive. Don't forget to open in combative mode window to choose which version of windows was for. It is nice to have an extra mouse and key arround especially if HP keyboard and mouse fails. I have used other brands of mice and keyboards when my keyboard and mouse HP stop responding waiting for Direct from HP support to send me a replacement game. With no troubles at all. I have the HP Laserjet 4100 printer. I bought a new laptop with USB ports.  What type of printer cable I need to connect the printer to my laptop? Is there some kind of printer cable adapter, or something else that will do the trick?

I have the same question about my HP Laserjet 1100 printer.

Thanks in advance for your assistance expected.

If I remember correctly, the 1100 uses a cable "C", alias MicroCentronics.  Have never seen an adapter for that one.  On the 4100, you can get a USB to parallel adapter.  They are pretty cheap and available at most CESS (Consumer Electronics Super Store) as Best Buy.  Staples and OfficeMax/Office Depot should also wear.  Online is cheaper if you have time to wait.

The thing with these USB converters is often must 'install' the cable first.  In other words, connect it to the laptop, then wait so he could install, then connect the printer.  Depending on your operating system and if you have correct updates that can be almost instantaneous, and you may not even see it pop on the screen.

Best idea is that since these are obviously not portable machines, connect them to your router via a network card.  I had the 1100 years and used a cheap 170 X.  I know most recent are available which are faster.

For the 4100, see if you can retrieve a Jet Direct 620 unit on eBay.  Probably less than $50 and sometimes even as little as $25.  Stay away from the 600, 510 or 615 cards.  Low or as the 600, they can leave your network open to hackers.  No need to get Gigabit cards as they will be well above what the 4100 can handle.

Now, two of these old devices, processing power and memory can be a problem.  Never try to print documents online.  Save them on your laptop, and then print.  You will probably get communication errors if you print directly from IE or FireFox.

If the 1100 does not die, not even worth fixing.  Put into a Fuser is a nightmare.  The 4100 will probably work for another 20 years if you keep to clean and replace the rolls before they cause jams.

  • Problems of E6420 with SSD SATA3

I've been running my E6420 with a standard drive RPM Hitachi 7 k for over a year without any problems.  For reference, the disc label shows SATA 3 Gb/s (i.e. SATA2).

I recently got a neutron GTX SSD Corsair, which of course supports SATA3.  When installing in Bay SATA internal of my E6420, the BIOS usually does not recognize the disc at all, although sometimes the BIOS sees it, but Windows 7 does not start with various "I/o error',"General read error"or"missing bootmgr"messages.

Interestingly, if I put the SSD in an eSATA enclosure, the SSD is systematically identified correctly in the BIOS and Windows 7 installs and starts well enough, but at slow speeds of the eSATA port.

Now...  Before point us to the drive being bad, I installed the SSD drive in a desktop equipped with a port SATA3 and DSS ran flawlessly at full speed.

So, it seems NOT to be a problem with the drive.

That said, it's always a weird situation that, apparently, Bay SATA internal of my E6420 is very happy with the conduct of a RPM Hitachi 7 disc k SATA2 speeds up, but has problems with a SATA3 SSD.

Any ideas?  Is it possible to control the internal SATA Bay and perhaps force mode SATA2 or SATA3?  I guess that all this should be automatic...

    Thank you!

Well, I'm happy to announce that my neutrons Corsair GTX is now functioning very well in my E6420.  Unfortunately, it took 2 motherboard replacement, but now I'm all good!  ATTO shows 450-500 MB / s, which is awesome!  Thanks for all the tips on the road, just the world - but it looks like it was just a problem of material in the end.

  • Problems of network with 715W

For months (seems like years?) I had to power cycle regularly my printer, the PC and the modem/router to restore network connectivity.  More recently (now) connectivity is dead, even until I can't connect using a USB cable.  If I try to print a page of test via a USB port, it goes through the motions, pulling a page from the paper tray, abruptly resets and get the blank page on the output tray.  I tried without success with several resets of the router, different channels, power levels, etc.

Anyubody other similar problems?  Of course, I had also just replace my black and purchased 2 new black cartridge and a color cartridge to avoid missing (victimized by this one at Christmas while they were not in stock!)

After spending over an hour on the phone with Dell, call of the Canada, getting bounced to half a dozen different representatives in the United States and then back to the Canada even once, he ended it would cost more than a little troubleshooting only so buy a new printer (not DELL).  I managed to get a RA number to be able to return the cartridges, that I just bought.

Then I called my provider I had problems last week with my network which I think might be related.  After about 15 minutes with them, they found where a framework had been modified caused place ended my problems.  Even if they are not 'officially' supporting printers, he worked through the configuration with me and you have my printer works again 100%.

  • Network problems intermittent management with more than 1 works ESXi

    Hello

I had problems since installation with our 2 x ESXi 5.5 nodes running on a Dell VRTX system.

If I had to run 1 ESXi nodes on its own, it works perfectly, no problems what so ever, but as soon as I start the 2nd node they network for the management network connectivity problems.  However any virtual machine that you are running on them have no problem at all.

The easiest way for me to check it comes to ping the management network and it will be on one of the nodes timeout, then it will randomly and knitting on this node but timeout on the other, they will never return a ping at the same time.

If anyone has experienced this before? I fight to see if there is a problem with the installation on the ESXi hosts, the network Dell VRTX or our NetGear switch.

I tried a lot of solutions and been through the different pages of VMware KB but can't seem to find something that suits him.

The network Dell 8 physical ports are all in one LAG with 2 nodes added, I tried the distinct lag, but that made no difference, I am focusing now on if it is a parameter of VMware to see where that gets me.

That's how the two nodes are configured.

    Solved!

Finally, I spotted the problem, and VMware technical support fixed it for me.

The MAC address of each management network was the same!, for some reason, the host of the 2nd got the MAC address of a NIC to host the premiere, don't know how its possible but VMware support restored all of the network settings from scratch and it picked up the correct MAC and works.

Thank you all for your suggestions.
