  Until we start could you give us some more information?

  1. Since when are you facing the issue?

  2. you have any anti-virus installed on the computer program?

  3. What are the troubleshooting steps correct you have taken to correct the problem?

  4. are you aware of any changes made to the computer before the show?

  I suggest you to re check the service as long as this error usually occurs if one of the services required for the backup Windows for work is disabled or has not started.

  To check the services, click Start, in the Start Search bar type services , and then press enter.

  Please check that the following services are enabled:

  -"Remote Procedure Call" (RPCSS) must be active, Automatic.

  'COM + Event System"(System events) must beactivated en, Manuel.

  -'System Event Notification Service"(SENSE) must be active, Automatic.

  -"Volume Shadow Copy" (VSS) must beactivated en, Manuel.

  'Microsoft Software Shadow Copy provider' (SWPRV) must beactivated en, Manuel.

  Once you make changes according to the above specifications, you can try a backup and check to see if that solves the problem.

  I also suggest you to run a SFC scan (System File Checker). This will replace the corrupted Windows files.

  How can I disable the windows backup program?  I could not make a backup by using the utility for running Windows Vista.  Problem since upgrade to Windows 7.  The program continues at the prompt for a DVD and I would rather just turn off.

  I have a Lenovo Think Pad with Windows Vista.  When I try to back up the computer, I choose backup and the location of tools accessory system configuration.  Then I run a backup to start and identify a DVD RW as the location of the backup files.  I click to start and a screen pops up saying

  A file exists already (0X800700B7), and at this time it cannot be saved.

  OX800700B7 is not a file name. It is an error code.

  What follows is a response to the same problem. The person who had the problem was using 64-bit. But that makes no difference in this case. Follow th step by step posted by ABC_george and see if that fixes the problem.

• Problem with the PC Backup on the external DRIVE on the network drive home.

  I made backups of my laptop wirelessly through my router to my connecting external hard drive attached to my desktop, when I used Microsoft OneCare. Since then, OneCare is being abandoned, I decided to go to the basics of Microsoft (MS). Unfortunately, Ms Essentials doesn't have the features of OneCare. I try to perform a backup using the backup and Restore Center, however, I get an error message when I put backup settings to location network - error code: 0 x 80070534, no mapping between account names and security IDS was done... the results. I've looked everywhere for answers and keep looking, however, I have found no solid solution (especially scams, i.e. pc scanners and fixers of registry error).   Thanks, I found the problem. I had to uncheck the ReadOnly property on the folder that I traced to use for my backup location on my HARD drive. In truth, the property read-only (checkbox) is not checked, it is filled (designates the system setting) with a green square in the box (on my Windows XP desktop). I'm sure that others have missed this little nuisance. It's cheating. I don't know how many times I looked at the folder that I use for my backups, forget to realize that the ReadOnly is the default setting for the file. I no longer get the error message: 0 x 80070534, no mapping between account names and security IDS was done. I can't believe it's just as simple as that! My backups work fine.

  ISTR that you have to buy Windows 7 Ultimate or above for the backup to a network share using the installed backup program.  The series Windows 7 Home won't make backups on a network.

  Note:
  You can back up data to an external hard drive and no CD. It is essential to back up data even if you do an inplace upgrade.

  You can try to do an inplace upgrade and check if this gives a probable solution.

  The problem was solved when I did a full Scan using the microsoft security essentials program. He has taken a few hours to analyse and found two problems with Java. I removed those and the backup took place without problems.
