    Hi guys

I wonder if anyone can help me? I have an old Satellite 4600 (not sure what series that is!). It has 128 MB of RAM. I added an another 128 MB of RAM, but it records still only 128 meg. I spent the round modules, always only 128 MEG. I tried even to each module right in the slot A, and then just to location B. Whenever he recorded 128 Meg, so I know that the two slots are working and two modules work, but it will not record together as 256!

I checked in the BIOS and only 128 in there too. Help, please

    Hello

We start with some basic on this old book info.

To check first please bottom side of your laptop and let us know if you have satellite or Satellite Pro. At your old laptop part number that starts with PS460E?

In any case this model can be improved up to 512 MB

OK atm I have 512 MB in my netbook and I want to upgrade to 1 GB
now, I have already 512 MB in the nebook and I had another
but when I insert the other 512 MB
the only thing I get is a black screen

    Hello

The laptop supports 1 GB RAM max.
This means that you can use 2 x 512 MB max modules. Module of 512 MB in each slot.

I guess 1 GB of RAM is not supported and therefore you cannot start the device correctly!

    Go back to 2 x 512 MB

  • Problems upgrading RAM on Pavilion DV7 Notebook PC

I know that it is an old machine, but still good.

I have the original 4 Mb RAM installed and trying to update this to 8 MB.

I installed a single module of 8Gb, DDR3 PC3-12800, which seems to be supported according to the carrier material online for this machine.  I see that this RAM is seen in the system BIOS and memory test BIOS passes; However, when I boot to Windows, I get a blue screen that provides actionable information... just a hexadecimal error code.

I tried the SIM in the two RAM slots with the same effect.

The RAM I am using is a new module from PNY PC3-12800, spec'd to work in 1066 and 1333 and 1600 MHz and a 1.5V SIM.

    Please help if possible...

    Thank you

    Hello

    The book says:

    2 the customer-accessible/extendable SODIMM slots

    Memory DDR3, 1 333 MHz
Support dual channel supports up to 8 GB of RAM in the following configurations
system memory total of 8192 MB (4096 MB × 2, both channels)
    Memory ● 6144 MB (2048 MB × 1 + 4096 MB × 1) total system
    Memory ● system total of 4096 MB (2048 MB x 2, dual-channel)
    ● 3072 MB total system memory (2048 MB × 1 + 1024Mo × 1)
    2048 MB total ● system memory (1024Mo × 2, both channels)
    2048 MB total (2048 MB × 1) ● system memory

Now you put 8 GB in a slot then it's not going to work. You have to put 2 x 4 GB. You can use 1.5V, on this machine, 1.5V RAM will use a bit more power and more hot, that's all.

    Kind regards.

    Hello

the modules are completely identical? They come from the same manufacturer? If not, then your problem is solved and you should go to the store where you purchased this RAM and exchange for a compatible.
Usually this phenomenon appeared in only two cases:

    1. the modules are identical but one of them is faulty and it is the reason why they start won´t when it is matched
    2. the modules are not identical or not, from the same manufacturer they also start won´t when it is matched

That's it, my friend. Nothing more to say.

I bought two 4 GB PC3 - 10600 1333 MHz CL9 for my Satellite C660 - 1 cl .I put in and when windows tries to load computer laptop just stop.

    Any suggestion?

I presume that there is compatibility problem. Many people have reported similar problems. RAM should be upgraded with high quality and 100% compatible parts.
According to specification for laptop, your laptop model can be improved up to 8 GB and 4 GB compatible modules have the PA3677U-1M4G (DDR3-1066) part number.

  • Upgrade Ram on a Netbook NB200 - 00L

I gave to my two daughters a Netbook Toshiba NB200 - 00L. Both came loaded with Windows 7 Starter. If I just upgrade to Windows Home Premium, it will slow down computers. I was told that the maximum ram that can take netbooks is 1gig. However, I keep seeing that people are upgraded to 2gigs. I want to upgrade the ram so that Windows Home Premium will work better. Can someone enlighten me on this subject. Upgrading ram Home Premium support will be more effective? Also, is anyone Home Premium running on their netbooks without upgrading, and it is really slow? Thank you

    Hello

AFAIK NB200 can be upgraded to 2 GB of RAM. Therefore, you can check the specs on the Toshiba site!

I m not NB200 owner but I improved my other laptops equipped with modules from Kingston. I've never had a problem with these modules. They always run stable and don t make problems.

  • TouchSmart 310-1125f: problems of RAM with Touchsmart 310-1125f

I'm having a time heckuva upgrading RAM on this machine. To start, I tried an upgrade of RAM several months to a year. I went to the product page HP customer care to find out what kind of RAM I needed, and how much has been. It does not appear that the RAM on the product page info is correct, because I ordered what I thought, it was EXACTLY what I need and when it arrived and I took the machine part to install the RAM, I discovered that there was NO WAY that I bought was going to adapt. Product page indicates the installed a PC3-10600 DDR3-1333 RAM machine. What I bought was the Office of PC3-10600 DDR3 - 1333 mhz 240 pin DIMM RAM. It seems the rub is Office RAM laptop RAM vs. HP's product page does not specify the Touchsmart 310 uses laptop RAM, or at least what I think is laptop RAM. The installed RAM is small (SODIMM?) where the RAM I bought to upgrade is great "stick" RAM. The RAM that is currently installed in the machine has a sticker that reads "1RX8 PC3 - 10600S - 9 - 10 - B1. I just need to know without a doubt what to buy to upgrade RAM, because the machines performance is poor, return of points of sale by correspondence are a chore, and I don't necessarily like tearing apart my computer mainly for no reason. To add insult to injury, after I realized the mailorder RAM did not adapt, I handed the computer together without writing the specifications for the RAM installed to try to resolve the dilemma, so I had to tear the machine today (and put back together) just to get the RAM specifications. Thanks in advance for anyones insight!

    Hello

First some general information on your machine:
Your laptop can be upgraded to the top 8 GB and max upgrade, you can use both modules of memory of 4 GB.
Compatible 4 for GB DDR3 - 1066 MHz apart number PA3677U-1M4G. Module of memory with this part number is tested and 100% compatible with your device.

If you check this forum you will find number of threads as your one, where people try to level of RAM using Rams Corsair and spoke of the same problems. Obviously the reason for non-working machine is compatibility issue with these RAM modules.

The 'value' Modules of RAM use many markets good chips using several banks/channels, which can cause problems of compatibility with some chipsets/CPUS.

I highly recommend to use high quality and 100% compatible modules of RAM from Toshiba or Kingston.

    Hello

So I have upgraded RAM using 2 x 4 GB SODIMM DDR3 Corsair 1600 Mhz, after installing the PC boots but screen is white/black

    steps to follow:

    1. I tried with 1 socket by using only a RAM, screen black

    2. I tried with 2 socket using RAM only one with the same RAM step 1, screen black

    3. I tried step 1 and 2 using the other RAM, screen black

    now here it gets interesting

4 tried 1 socket using Original/factory RAM, screen black

5 tried 2 socket using Original/factory RAM, screen black

    6. tried without any RAM at all, looks like a lack of RAM, screen black

Now, to each measure adopted, I must say that the screen sound not only not showing things, but its totally black as it does at all, until the system starts normally. !

Is it Possible the upgrade of RAM affect the screen? or maybe when I was replacing the RAM I hit some conecting by cable to screen or something?

    HP 19 all-in-ONE PC

    Product No.G4B06AA #ABA

    Model n ° 19-2113w

    10 64-bit Windows

    Update

Removed the battery and hold the power for 30 sec button (BIOS reset if I'm not mistaken?) now it works with the orginal of RAM so I guess my new RAM that's the problem!

  • CC 7100 cmt: questions upgrade ram cmt dc 7100 (please help)

    Hey all,.
There is history... or you can just go to the section "cut to the Chase" to the bottom of the post

    The long story...
my name is chris, and I'm trying to help a 14-year-old son, friends learn a lil more on his old pc.

his pc has a hand and is obviously outdated, I got a bunch of old carcasses of office and let him rumage anything that would contribute to his pc. We found a total of 3 GB of ram ddr400mhz which is just below its limit of 4 GB machines.

so I thought everything would go smoothly, it is certainly not my first ram upgrade, having built many of the old desktop computers it was inflict through, I consider myself pretty well informed on the pc and have renovated a lot of pc, same Freelancer my skills of mechanics and tokens for a lil extra cash on the side I have dealt with many a problem, repair and upgrade, since I took my first windows machine in 2000, before that I started with a commodore 64 and eventually got an apple iic when I was about 10 years old... anyway, what im getting here, is I USED to know my s#@t, but for some reason any It's evading me and google isn't offering anything on the subject.

We planned on him to update to sp3 after have modernized their equipment as much as we can, while at the same time educate him as much as I could about how the computer worked, how to open and how to treat the components inside, it was the first time, he had never looked inside his machine or any machine besides...

However, because of delays and the issue with the ram does not, I eventually send him home with the same stock set up, he brought to me.

    Cut to the Chase

The problem here is that for some reason when I install 1, 2 or 3 the cards of ram 1 GB the machine do not post and triggers a series of beeps system, so obviously something isn't jiving, and I can't put my finger on it.
I can use 1,2,3 or all 4 of his stock [256 MB ddr 400 mhz] ram cards and it will display and start with change messages memory clear system, however, when you use less than four of its ram slots, a message is launched upward during post, stating something to the effect of all the slots must contain the same amount of ram

We are working on PC is a:
    HP DC 7100 CMT
    Windows XP SP2

    current installed RAM is [256 MB ddr 400 mhz] x 4 = a total of 1 GB

    tried to upgrade RAM parts:
    Ballistix [1 GB ddr 400 mhz] x 2 = a 2 GB total

    more

Memory Dell [1 gb ddr] (mhz are not)

I thought it was probably a bios thing and was about to investigate, but we ran out of time, now I'm tender hand to this community in the hope that someone here can indicate what it is I'm obviosly dominant, I really want to get his machine is upgraded because it is expessing a lot of interest in Unity3D , and scripts, ANDS I'd like see hiw cultivate these skills and I can't buy a machine, and he cannot afford a new machine, so the upgrade of its rigging with these old quarters would be the most ideal situations for him, if we cannot find out we will simply create a new rig out of my 'old' , but the 3.0 ghz core dou in his dc 7100 cmt processor is probably better than any of the alternatives in my attic... so yes this is my dilemma and I hope that some here is kind enough to point me in the right direction

    Thank you and best regards,
    Chris

    Hello:

You must have the total amount of memory in slots 1 and 3 are the same, and the same quantity in slots 2 and 4.

The PC will not work if you put 1 GB in slot 1, 1 GB in slot 2 and 1 GB in the Groove 3 because you're short 1 GB in the empty slot 4 and just short of 1 GB in slot 4 = 5 beeps.

Then... If you do not have 4 x 1 GB then use 1 GB in slots 1 and 3 and 256 MB in slots 2 and 4.

See the table below on page 16 memory configuration.

    * Sorry - I posted in the wrong topic... should have been under updates & replacements *.

I have a laptop series (F5400HR) ze1000 HP running Windows XP Edition sp2 family.

It has 512 MB of RAM for the moment (two 256 MB cards).  My manual says I can go to 1 GB (with two 512 MB cards). Information about the hardware on my computer tells me that I can do the same thing.  But when I look at online, many Web sites that offer upgrades I can only go to 512 MB.  Please, can someone tell me who he is?

(I have problems upgrading to modern versions of things like anti-virus and programs explore 8 literally frozen out loud (I'm on IE 7).)  The latest version of Avast I downloaded everything froze.  I think more RAM might I want to hang on to this computer a little longer... I just can't afford a new computer right now.)

    Thank you!

It certainly is the maximum of 1 GB:
