You probably need to recharge the device drivers and camera control software (usually included
with the drivers and installed at the same time).

Login as an administrator.

Double-click Control Panel / Device Manager - Imaging - writing down of the brand and model of camera.

  • Pavilion dv6 problem with webcam and microphone

    I have a HP Pavilion dv6-6156ea, which is a little more than a month.  It runs Windows 7 Home Premium.
    Today, tried to use the webcam and microphone for the first time, a Skype call, but none of them does not seem to work.
    The webcam is not displayed in Device Manager, but the microphone is.
    When I opened Cyberlink Youcam, it does not recognize that there is an internal webcam.
    What should I do to activate the microphone and the cam?

    Feel a little silly answering myself, but no one responded and I thought it is best to share what I found out.

    The webcam was defective, straight out of the box.

    And the microphone is connected to these features, but uses a different driver - if your microphone works, it could be a sign that your problem is with the driver for the cam.

    I bought the PC world a month ago, so there was although it is very busy.  It was the second faulty webcam in HP they had returned today - most early was a dv7.  There was no problem with replace - they took a glance, considered to be the installation of the drivers on a disc, but when it was not displayed in Device Manager and the microphone works not more, they knew right away.

    It really shows control of very poor quality of Hewlett-Packard.  It's a shame that in the first weeks, I was really happy with this model, but realistically, now I know that this is what looks like their QC, when my company needs its next piece I'll go with anything other than HP.

    This model of laptop s independent and, therefore, the use of the webcam software that has been released for other models of laptops may not be a problem.

    I recommend you the driver for Toshiba Satellite L500 series area.
    There you can download the drivers for Win 7 32 bit and 64 bit OS.

    I read your message and understand that the webcam and MIC do not work on your HP Envy Ultrabook 4-1015dx. I have studied the issue and have developed a possible resolution. First of all, please perform a reset. Once this is done, please follow the steps described in these documents:

    You have received this message because your universal serial (USB) bus driver caused a stop error, also known as a blue screen error. This error means that the computer has stopped abruptly to protect against potential corruption of data or loss.

    What is a driver?

    A driver is software that allows your computer to communicate with hardware or devices. Without drivers, the hardware you connect to your computer (for example, a video card or a webcam) may not work properly.

    The recommended steps that follows can help to eliminate this problem, or at least reduce its frequency. Try them in the order listed. If a step cannot solve or reduce the problem, then move on to the next.

    Steps to fix this problem

    1. Adjust your computer's power settings

      The following power settings may help reduce the frequency of this problem.

      1. Turn off the USB selective suspend setting:

        1. Click on the Start button .

        2. In the search box, type power options, and then press ENTER.

      What is the BIOS?

    Steps to work around this problem

    1. Try to remove newly added USB devices

    If you know which USB device is causing the problem

    It may be possible to prevent the Blue error screen by choosing the option remove the device safely in the Notification area, before putting your computer into sleep or Hibernate mode.

    1. In the system tray, click the icon to remove the device , select the USB device that you think that the origin of the problem and then click OK.

    2. Do not physically remove the USB device.

    3. Perform the action which resulted in the Blue error screen, so that was taken the functioning of your computer after the mode standby, hibernation, or, in the case of laptops, close the laptop computer or place it in a docking station.

      1. If the Blue error screen persists, it is likely that the problem is with another USB device. Try this procedure using other USB devices until you find that at the origin of the problem.

  • If the Blue error screen disappeared, you have probably identified the device causing the problem. Contact the manufacturer of the device for more information on how to solve this problem, or use the option to remove the device safely to work around him.

  • Note
    Depending on the manufacturer and model, some USB devices will become available automatically when you resume using your computer. Others will require that first disconnect you physically and then plug back in front, they will be recognized by the computer. Check the system tray to see if the USB device that you removed safely become available when you started to use your computer again.     I hope someone can help, I had my Qosmio for 2 1/2 years now and recently had a problem with the hard drive. I decided to replace the hard drive, because it was the fastest solution. The problem I have now is that I can't receive TV on media center. I tried to install qosmio player at the disk to see if it made any difference, but when I run the provided recovery disc software tells me that there is not enough disk space! The laptop came with a 60G hard drive and the new HARD drive manufactured by the same manufacturer is a 150 GB, can someone help me out with this would be appreciated.

    Have you tried to install Qosmioplayer initially, then on operating system? If I remember well, on this first portable Qosmio, it was very important to install Qosmioplayer initially.

    last week I fixed it fortunately, I kept on looking for HD webcam drivers and found a driver called "Realtek HD Audio drivers". I just uninstalled all previous drivers for webcam and audio too, then I installed the HD audio driver and then everything works fine now, indeed, acer crystal webcam is not necessary all, juice install this driver HD and everything works fine... Thank you.

    I have a huge problem with my Pavilion. I used Windows 8.1 earlier, and I decided to upgrade to Windows 10. I did not like something (can't remember what) and decided to return to Windows 8.1. Almost a year passed, I am again on Windows 10. But if I SLEEP my computer:

    • Screen goes black, everything seems normal.
    • No matter how long wait, fan keeps spinning and power LED, LED Wi - Fi on.
    • Keyboard input does not help. Does not meet what it is.
    • The only thing left to do - stop hard.

    And if I shut down the operating system:

    • Windows normally stops, close all applications, screen goes black.
    • Fan on, led on.

    I did not notice these problems with restarting and the hibernation.

    Two things I've done in this gap of the year:

    • Replacement screen. An old broke. Thanks to my cat...
    • Formatted the drive. I don't think it would do anything diffirent.

    So, any help would be appreciated.

    On some machines, the pilot for 11 series IMEI has been known to cause that kind of question of the judgment, so it may be worth trying an earlier version.

    You can use the following method to install an earlier version of the driver IMEI.

    Download driver IMEI on the link below and save it in your downloads folder.

    Open your download folder and run the installer - it warns you that it is an earlier version, but simply continue.

    When finished, restart the laptop.

    I noticed a problem with webcam in time early Vista release, but it was linked to the Vista OS stroller and was solved by SP1.

    Sorry, but another problem with webcam into the unknown for me and as far as I know internal webcam works fine also on Portege M700.

    As you already suggested the internal webcam is not available on all Portégé M700 series. Toshiba notebooks, any series, are equipped with different hardware specifications and example to the webcam internal, in the light of the webcam and internal microphone are available on some models.

    Maybe no problem with a webcam, but some Portégé M700 does not really have an internal webcam ;)

    I downloaded iTunes 9 on my Tobisha laptop Satellite last night and put about 2.5 GB of music on it. I didn't upload the music from the internet. I used MP3s, I had for a few years.

    When I went to boot up the laptop this morning the loading process took some time, but it never loaded to the login screen. I just see the bottom of MicroSoft. Is there a compatibility problem with Vista and iTunes? Maybe I put too much music on my laptop?

    Boot in safe mode and delete iTunes and all the music I downloaded would solve the problem? Or it is less simple than that?

    Don't know where to direct this question if any help you could provide would be greatly appreciated.

    iTunes is compatible with Vista and there should not be any problem.
    Yesterday, I installed iTunes 9 on my U400 and everything happened correctly.
    If your laptop can not boot Vista correctly, then you should try the repair feature.

    Turn on the computer and press F8. Now you will see the advanced boot menu.
    Now, you have many choices.

    As a first step, you should try the option called: last good known Configuration (Advanced)

    If this will not help and the Vista will not start then try the option called repair your computer. This option displays a list of system recovery tools, you can use to repair startup problems, run diagnostics, or restore your system.

    If that does not help, then you will need to retrieve the unit using the Toshiba recovery disc or HARD drive recovery.
