PS/2 mouse does not work on my Satellite Pro 4220

Hey all,.

I want to use a PS/2 mouse on my 4220 and it shows the mouse in the hardware section, and it shows that is working very well... However, I cannot use pointers on my laptop and not by the PS/2 mouse... no idea how to make the mouse work?

Thanks for the help!

Hello

I na? t have experience with this device, but have you checked mouse properties settings.
How do you connect the mouse? Did you use a PS/2 to USB adapter or appliance has a PS/2 port?

  • Touchpad mouse does not work on my Satellite L850D - 12 p

    Hello

I had problems with my laptop since the beginning. The hard drive failed and the carpet of mouse and keyboard have had intermittent problems since day 1. Randomly, they stop working and will not work again until you restart.

Recently the mouse pad often stopped to work prompting me to uninstall the Synoptics driver for this device. I removed the device from Device Manager and expected that when I rebooted windows driver would be. This was not the case. I reinstalled from the driver that I got from this site and now is without recognizing the mouse from the Synoptics software. Only the USB mouse that I plugged in worked and even then it often froze.

I tried a soft reset of the laptop wiping my settings and more recently a reset. I think that it is purely a software problem.

The mouse still does not work. Does anyone have ideas on this?

    Laptop is L850D - 12 p.

    Any help is well suitable.

    > I have tried a soft reset of the laptop wiping my settings and more recently a reset. I think that it is purely a software problem.

The point is that, for software problems, the Toshiba Recovery disk should solve your problems of keyboard and touchpad. So, I think that this issue is NOT due to software problem.

You mentioned that you had these problems since the first day buying hmm I m wondering why you did not contact the authorized service provider or a retailer of laptop for a fix.
New devices are covered by warranty and in case of hardware malfunction; the guarantee covers the repair procedure.

My solution: you can try to recover the laptop once more. Use the original Toshiba recovery disc. Also check if the BIOS is updated.
Note: the touchpad should work even if the other Synaptics touchpad driver isn't installed. Why? The touchpad is controlled by the default Microsoft driver and current touchpad as touch and scrolling functions do not exist by default. Synaptics touchpad driver adds a few more features and functionality for the touchpad.

  • The Touchpad right button does not work on the Satellite Pro L series

The icon in the taskbar indicates that the right button is permanently pressed, if it is not.
So I can't right click at all. A radio mouse works fine, but there are times I want to use the touchpad.

In addition, the screen does not turn off, and the computer goes to sleep after the hours set in the options of energy saving.
I listen to the radio a lot and do not want to display on.

    > The icon on the task bar shows that the right button is permanently pressed, if it is not.
    > So I can't right click at all. A radio mouse works fine, but there are times I want to use the touchpad.

This could be linked to defective button. If you cannot use the right button, and the button appears to be clicked down, then I suppose that its hardware malfunction.
In this case it must be replaced.

    > In addition, the screen does not turn off, and the computer goes to sleep after the hours set in the options of energy saving. I listen to the radio a lot, and don t want the display on.

Have you chosen the right power Plan? In Control Panel-> power options you have to choose the diet plan and should click: change plan settings. Here, you can change the time when the display must be disabled.
If this does not work, then I guess that this feature does not work because you press the button of the touchpad and the windows OS think that the notebook is in use

I don't understand. Can you help me?
I do not work with the keyboard, so it is impossible to not have an external mouse
    Thank you very much.

    Hello

Error code 39 always appears if the equipment has not been installed correctly.
I think you should first try this:

Remove the mouse driver installed and the software.
Then remove the USB hubs and USB controllers in Device Manager list.
Then restart the laptop and wait until the USB ports would be installed again.
Install the mouse software, and then connect the mouse to the laptop.

If this will not help, try to remove the installed application alcohol because that might be the reason for this compatibility issue.

  • USB 3.0 does not work on my Satellite Pro L50

    Hello boffins.

I have a problem with the driver for the Intel USB 3.0 eXtensible host controller on my L50 (running Win7 64 bit).

I recently took my L50 Pro Satelite (PSKK3A-001001) to the repair shop because the blue ports were not running at speeds of USB 3.0 when I plugged a USB 3.0 compatible device (a WD 1 TB HARD drive). When I looked in the device tab "Display connection" Manager, HARD drive showed as connected to the ordinary C220 USB hub which is for USB.2.0. USB 3.0 eXtensible Host Controller has been inactive.

The technician in the repair shop said:

+ I tested your machine with a new installation of Windows 8 and have been able to achieve speeds to 180 MB/s of my FlashDrive USB 3.0 without problem, which indicates that it is a matter of faulty software. We can improve your Windows 8 machine free of charge if you prefer, but I'm unable to solve the problem in Windows 7. From what I can tell, and what you have experienced, no published 3.0 for Windows 7 USB drivers can recognize the 3 USB ports installed as a USB 3 connection. If you are wanting to stick with Windows 7, I can't guarantee that you will reach speeds of USB 3.0 by using these ports. +

It's not really good enough, Toshiba. Now, I bought this machine specifically with pre-installed Win7 (because Win8 is rubbish) that I wanted a machine Win7, including USB 3.0 ports. This machine has been published as such, having Win7 installed with 2 x USB 3.0 ports and 1 x USB 2.0. This is confirmed by the page of the specifications of Toshiba here: [http://www.mytoshiba.co.nz/support/computers/satellite/pro/l50/pskk3a-001001/specifications].

So, my question is this: why this machine is the drivers needed to run it as advertised (i.e. under Win7 with 2 ports USB 3.0 x and 1 x USB 2.0) and if there are drivers for this device available, where are they? I tried and tried the repairman (I guess) but I'm still without a driver to run my USB 3.0 clocked ports. I tried age for the files to be transferred between pending devices.

Maybe someone can help me find a driver that works or Toshiba will clean up their act and produce a.

But you have installed Intel USB3.0 driver 2.0.0.102 version, right?

  • Bluetooth does not work on my Satellite Pro L830-17 t

    Hello

Can you please help me with this?
I have a [http://www.toshiba.co.uk/discontinued-products/satellite-pro-l830-17t/] and I just bought a Bluetooth mouse for her.

The device supports Bluetooth, but I can't see in Device Manager.

I remember having the Bluetooth in the taskbar before I think, but after that upgrade to Windows 8.1 (provided with Windows 8) bluetooth seems to have disappeared off the coast of my system.

I tried to install almost every driver software but to no avail. I have installed the Toshiba Bluetooth Stack and whenever I chose to open something, it says "Setup Bluetooth Device" but always then closes after asking me to "Please insert or turn on the Bluetooth device.

I spent the better part of today trying to resolve this issue, but could not.
Can someone please help me with this?

    KD.

    > I remember having the Bluetooth in the taskbar before I think, but after that upgrade to Windows 8.1 (provided with Windows 8) bluetooth seems to have disappeared off the coast of my system.
The laptop supports Bluetooth without a doubt.
The Atheros WLan / BT comob card has been installed in this unit and I guess that the necessary drivers have not been installed after the installation of Win OS 8.1,!

View this document on the BT facility after a clean install of Windows 8 (Win 8.1)
    http://APS2.toshiba-tro.de/KB0/TSB2C03FI0001R04.htm

The installation of the system driver Toshiba to win 8.1 as well as the filter of Atheros Bluetooth driver is very important. Without this software, BT is not recognized

Someone help me to activate it?

    Hello

Select all programs-> Toshiba-> Flash cards, and then restart this utility.
Now if you press Fn + F8, you should be able to turn on or turn off the WiFi.

  • Re: The right click of the mouse does not work on the Satellite L450 - 18 d

My laptop is about 2-3 months and today just as the right click button stopped working completely.
I did a system restore with still no luck.

    Any ideas?

    > the right click button completely stopped working. I did a system restore with still no luck. Any ideas?

It can be hardware junk... Perform a recovery with a recovery disk procedure to make sure that is not os/driver associated. Otherwise, contact the service centre in your country, it will fix it for free under warranty

  • Driver Bluetooth does not work on my Satellite Pro 6100

    Hello

My Bluetooth stopped working after a few updates (I forgot what they were!). I tried several times to reinstall the driver from Toshiba BT but it 'stops' part of the way through the installation: I left for much more than 30 minutes at this point.

I looked in system/equipment/other devices and ago that something called SiW, I guess that's the BT device because I can't find anything about this is labelled Bluetooth. I would like to point out that the Bluetooth was working before and nothing has been removed from the computer.

Anyone no matter what ideas / solutions to this problem?
    Thank you

    Andrew

    Hello

It's not easy to say what you are unable to install the Bluetooth driver.
I recommend you to reinstall the Toshiba Bluetooth completely form the operating system.
Remember that MS Bluetooth has been deleted also
Then restart the device and try again to install the Toshiba Bluetooth stack.

  • DVD/CD player does not work for a Satellite Pro C870 1CQ

    Hello world

My name is Stephanie and this is all the info from my laptop. (parts included)

I can't read any CD/DVD with my laptop.

I can open the driver, insert a CD or a DVD. I can close the driver. It begins to spin, as follows. (That's a lot of noise as well) After a while it stops right turn.

Nothing happens. Even when I look in the menu of my computer, the driver is not even mentioned there.

I have 8.1 Windows on my computer. I already checked the FAQ, but everything I could find that might be useful is applied to Windows XP

Can someone help me with this?

    Thank you!

    Kind regards

    Stephanie

    Hi Stephanie

It is not easy to say what the problem is here. Is your defective optical drive or there is a problem with the lens. Try to clean it. I did it using liquid and cotton swabs for screens LCD cleaning.

By the way: is the optical disc drive recognized properly in Windows Explorer or the Device Manager?

  • SD Card Reader does not work on my Satellite Pro P100

    Help, please.

My card reader reads nothing at all. I have a P100-429. Could you please tell me how I make it work and what drivers to install?

    Thank you

    Hello

Have you changed anything on the laptop?
The laptop comes with preinstalled Toshiba recovery image and all the drivers and utilities are already preinstalled and you don t new drivers.

In my view, you must first check if the card is compatible with your laptop.
Are you sure that the laptop card reader supports the card to 100%?
