PS CS4 upgrade installation

Hello

Is it necessary or harmful uninstall older versions of photoshop before installing an upgrade?

Thank you

Ian

It is not necessary at all.  I have five versions of Photoshop installed (7.0.1 by 11.0.2) installed and they all work.

On the other hand, it is perfectly safe to uninstall older versions.  Do it BEFORE installing the new version.  The versions that require you to use an uninstaller, such as CS3 and CS4, can spoil new facilities during the delivery of their programs to uninstall.  NOT in no way fair trash folders for CS3 or CS4. use their respective programs to uninstall.

If pse8 was a upgrade valid for ps cs4, it should be available in the drop-down list when you start the installation of cs4.

or, if you are right, you could install pse8 first and then install ps cs4.

You must have installed the software or have the serial number of the previous version.  Although it is unlikely due to the age of the product, you can check your Adobe account online.

  • Hi, upgrade installation support needed

    Hello

I bought an upgrade to adobe Illustrator. I have cs4. Instead of informing me of my mistake when I had trouble to install the first time (since I have no previous version), the support just made for me. Unfortunately its an old version and tech support is no longer available. I can't install it again because its an upgrade and I have no previous version. But technical support helped me once, perhaps this forum can help me once again. What lays in the balance is the 600 dollars I paid. Help, please! How can I install with no previous version upgrade? (and why not support tell me my error of purchase when I could still returned the product! jeeze).

No one here has the ability to override the tne installation requirements.  If you can't get Adobe support for help then it is probably not that you can do.  Your best chances are to convince a support person to help you... hopefuklly you registered the product as it is in your account history.

  • Help necessary after CS4 CS3 installation uninstall problem

    Hello

I recently upgraded my computer from Vista to Win7, so I spent a lot of time to update applications.  I realized my CS2 wouldn't work and I was told that I had to at least get CS3.  I bought the CS3 and installed on my two new Win7 machines without problem.  I then discovered that CS3 is no longer supported by Adobe, so I need to get CS4 or CS5. I installed CS4 trail and decided for now back to CS3.  I had not uninstalled CS3, but was disabled, not knowing if CS4 would no longer write it or if the two can co-exist.  uninstalled CS4 via the Control Panel, CS3 re-activated and all was well on both machines.  Then, on my machine main update of Adobe wanted to update a few modules, InDesign and Acrobat Pro.  Things went very well with the update until he asked me my CS4 disc?  I have it mood the second time and fed Alternatively the CS3 and CS4 disc... he let me not put both if I swapped the drives until I was no longer able to lift my arm and when everything is done, the installation failed.

He left me with no functional InDesign.  To make things worse, activation could not connect to Adobe for some reason any.  I was able to use the phone process to activate products, but now I wanted to try installing CS3, but it wouldn't let me disable due to network issue, and there is no option to disable, internet phone or she to jump.

I called Adobe and asked for help.  I talked about the problem of turning off for them.  They said to go and Uninstall CS3 and we arrange activation after the re - install.  Knowing that he might take a long time, he said he'd call me back... never did.  I tried to help and were unable to get help.

What I have now is a CS3 uninstalled that I can't install at all, so I am in worse shape before, when only InDesign did not work.

I have DW3 on the same computer and it is very well and has been very well throughout the process.

I need a way to exorcise the PC of all memory of CS3 or CS4 so I can really start from scratch.  Is there a such a "wipe bomb Adobe" I might fall on my registry to really get rid of his insistence on the CS4 install disk need?

I am convinced that CS4 did not uninstall cleanly, leaving files or settings that still refer to CS4, in conflict with any attempt to update or reinstall the product correctly.  I hope that this happened to someone else and has found a solution, far from rebuild the whole PC.

    Thank you!

    Lew

  • Reinstalling Windows XP for Windows 7 upgrade installation

Note: Windows XP to Windows 7 help / help of recovery

I changed Windows XP to Windows 7. When I was on Windows XP I used conflicted software virus: Avast! and Norton. Finally this made me not be able to open anything, especially .exe.  I tried to do a system restore, but I couldn't go to the bar of programs in the start menu. After that, I thought it would be a good time to upgrade to Windows 7 and eliminate these problems. I tried to upgrade to Windows 7 just by putting in the disc, but it wouldn't load because of the previous problem. So, I put in the Windows XP disk and run Setup. When he arrived to the part when he says, "Windows Setup" it came with several errors saying that it could not find the files that should be on the disk. So, I pressed cancel and then turns off my computer. He tells me now when I go to the installation choose a place to put my new windows, and the only one there is C:. The problem is that there are already windows there. Remove the current patrician and then install it or install it even if it is already there. Remember, I want to just install Windows 7 once I get XP working.

Thanks for all the help in advance!

    Hey Nub-Sauce,

You can select the C: drive and try the install again. It will try to replace windows with the new installation of windows XP. Failure, then try to delete the current partition and try the install again.

Note: You may lose the data stored in the system after reinstall, repair, or upgrade Windows XP.

  • Computer froze during the upgrade/installation of windows xp

I have windows xp home edition on a Dell desktop computer. I had problems with the computer freezing and then lost the connection to the internet 3 days ago. So I decided to reinstall windows xp from cd. However, I have chosen upgrade, rather than new install (because it was the suggested method). Now my computer will not complete the upgrade but is frozen during the installation. It remains to 32 minutes until the end. I can't seem to start, can't control/alt/delete or whatever it is. If I unplug my computer and launch it then again once, it resumes where it left off. How can I break out of this loop and start over with a fresh install? Thank you.

OK, it would have been better to have all the information on this machine in one place. I guess your question in the other post you made about activation is for the same computer? If this is correct, then the information I gave you in your previous post is not applicable.

With Dell computers, using Dell reinstallation media, you don't need to enter a product key during installation and the operating system is already activated.

If you use a different XP installation disc that was not provided by Dell, this is why you are experiencing activation problems. If you do not have a Dell brand installation CD, you will need to use a manufacturer OEM generic system disk and use the product key on the label of CA certificate on your computer. If you use a copy of XP retail, you would use the product key on the CD to copy the retail case. In the case of the generic OEM drive, it must be the same version of XP that came with your computer (Home/Pro/MCE).

All that being said, your sound of questions as a material. Did you leave all devices attached during the repair facility? If so, this can also cause the problem. Unplug everything except (obviously) your mouse and your keyboard when doing an operating system install. You should ensure that the material is solid before attempting to install again.

Understand that all your data will be lost. If you save before, try to start with Linux Livecd such as Knoppix and copy the files to an external hard drive. Then download a utility from drive to drive mftr site. or use a third-party (Acronis Disk Director, Knoppix gparted) start Disk Manager to delete partitions on your hard drive and format the drive.

Now, do a clean install of Windows, preferably using a Dell XP installation CD. Install Dell drivers for all your hardware when you're done, restore data from backups. MS - MVP - Elephant Boy computers - don't panic!

  • Language of the system during the upgrade / installation W10

I am a British expat living in the Netherlands.

When I bought this system, I asked the vendor to install W 7 64 bit Pro English, which he did. Shortly after the installation of the system at home, he developed a hardware problem, which means that the supplier had to re - install the system.

However, it has installed the Dutch version of the system. Because I had not the time (or energy), due to illness, so that the English system replaced, I have either. Now, with upgrading to W10, I dearly wish I could install the English language version.

I understand that the upgrade software detects the current language of the system and uses the same language for the installation of the W10.

Is there a way to get around this? Although I understand and speak Dutch, I find the use of the language in the system extremely disturbing and sometimes difficult to decipher.
