  is it possible that your documents are stored on another drive which was not part of the backup plan? or is the HD in the big enough MBP to inherent the old backup.

  If you open the time machine with the original backup disc, you should be able to browse the content

  TM must control the sparsebundle to the backup... He must disassemble at the end of the backup cycle... and back at the beginning of the next cycle... I assume you are using a TC.

  The solution is to disassemble the TM properly... or to put it in simple terms... Restart the TC.

  I highly recommend not to inherit the old backup... but start a new... If the drive is not large enough we can make suggestions on get more space or recovering from it.

After restoring Illustrator CC 2014 has tried to start, the start screen was for a few seconds then I got this error message and the program crashed: operation fails due to an unknown error.   I uninstalled Illustrator using the uninstall application in the main folder, then reinstalled Illustrator CC 2014 using the creative cloud icon in my menu bar. After the reinstallation is the same thing with the same error. I am running Yosemite 10.10.1. Illustrator ran fine before the system restore. Photoshop and InDesign CC 2014 start very well.

  I'd appreciate any help you can give me. I tried to discuss with Adobe, but the cat was not available.

  You could try to reinstall using step three way:

  Uninstall, run the cleanup tool and reinstall.

  HSGT is currently the most reliable disks 3.5 "with Western Digital to the 2nd place. HSGT drive, personally and I would choose. If you go for a 2.5 drive "then always choose a Seagate model. You can buy the disc and a box at OWC. Do not use a wired reader but a drive directly connected unless you have wireless access to the drive is essential. Stick using a USB 3.0 connection.

  I had to have my iMac drive replaced the week last in the replacement of the Apple program. After installing the new drive, I restored the whole Machine on the new drive Time backup. Most things work perfectly, but I get an error message when I try to run PSE 8. The error is 150:30 of error indicating "license has stopped working". I tried a number of things to correct this as described in http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/global/error-licensing-stopped-mac-os.html, but found that most of the FlexNet referring to article data does not exist on my machine, so I am unable to complete the recommended steps (I did the hidden files visible). Also the Flexnet files do not appear on the backup volume. When I try to reload the software with the original disks I have just the player to make some noise and then eject it. All the other CD/DVD to work as usual. Very welcome ideas

• TM2 - Win7 hangs at the splash screen after waking from sleep and hibernation

  I had intermittent problems with the mode 'sleep' on my laptop TM2T-2200 (Windows7 64-bit).  Wake up sleep & put into hibernation, the system will have problems with log-in intermittently.  Generally speaking, I'll be able to move my mouse cursor and enter my password - but pressing enter, the system hangs at the splash screen, requiring a hard - reboot (by pressing the power button).  Sometimes, I've not yet will be able to enter my password before it crashes.

  The problem seems to occur more in energy saving mode, but it occurred in '' HP recommended Mode '' once or twice now, too.  It looks a lot like the problems reported for other models HP here:

  Any suggestions?  Is it possible to know if a particular driver or a program that hangs?

  Update: my problems seem to be associated with protection against malware of Comcast constant guard and disappeared after uninstalling the program.

  Unfortunately when I try to use one of the Office 2010 applications, I get a message that the change of
  HW has been detected, and that I must again request (purchase new license I guess).

  Can someone help me solve this problem. For me the time is important.

  I'm leaving for a business trip to 3 weeks and the old laptop is no longer appropriate.

  It seems to be normal, because the changes to the hardware (RAM, CPU,...)

  may be a reason for reactivation of Microsoft Windows or Microsoft Office.

  I had such a situation, the upgrade of RAM.

• Virtual machine does not start after restoring from Time Machine to the new Imac

  I got my IMac replaced by Apple, after that they could not fix the old one.  They did a full restore from a Time Machine backup.  The virtual machine does not open now.   When I navigate to the file to try to open the virtual machine at the VMware logo in the bottom right of the icon displayed with large yellow exclamation appears on the icon?  Anyone encountered this problem before.  I'll take the Imac in Saturday if I can not solve.  The machine has the same size as before.  There are a few aspects of sharing with the Mac application miss me?

  According to the MacVirt.vmdk folder, you have the right number of segments of shared disk so you should be able to create a new VM by pointing to the disc in the new VM Wizard by pointing to the MacVirt.vmdk file.

  Note: After you create the new Virtual Machine, I would not suggest the Virtual Machine to stop, pause and close merge and then move all *.vmdk files in the package of the virtual machine, and then manually change the computer configuration files virtual .vmx and change the path to a little to view the MacVirt.vmdk file.  In this way, everything is in one package and is easier to maintain.

• 20.0 AIGPUSniffer hangs at startup

  After update 2015 CC Illustrator (v. 19.2.1) CC 2015.3 (v. 20.0.0), the AIGPUSniffer app crashes on launch when I try to edit an object vector in a PDF file is opened in Acrobat Pro ms. Right click on an object in Acrobat Pro with the Edit object tool brings up a context menu that allows you to edit the object outside of Acrobat. If it's a vector object in the PDF, choose Edit object would automatically launch Illustrator and open the object in a temporary file, which could change, save, close, and update automatically in the original PDF file. In this last update 2015.3, the AIGPUSniffer will not start and so Illustrator does not open the object for editing.

  I uninstalled 2015.3 Illustrator and restored the 2015 (19.2.1) from a Time Machine backup version and edition of Acrobat is back to work normally as it should. I can only conclude that the last 20.0 AIGPUSniffer which is part of the package of the version 2015.3 content is flakey/buggy.

  So it is a warning to anyone who relies on the edition of the elements of the vector in PDFs from Acrobat to stick with the 2015 (19.2.1) until the problem is resolved.

  Also, if anyone from the Adobe Illustrator team is reading this, please be aware of this problem or if it is reproducible in your tests.

  Just reinstalled 2015.3 and tested my account usual and everything works again as it should. I still 2015 installed as well, so I don't know if that makes a difference or not. I hope that if I uninstalled 2015 2015.3 will continue to work normally.

• Photos.app download of my entire library after backup time machine

  I've restored my mac from a time machine backup. Now pictures downloading my photo library 63 GB (on my poor 1Mbit upload connection shared with a household of users).

  He had already done once before on my macbook, but I just discussed with him and took it to a place that had a speed of fast download for a few hours.

  This machine is an imac so I can only do :-(

  Why are the pictures reuploading my entire library if it is already in icloud? and how can I make it stop?

  Seems that it must have a mechanism like dropbox where it checks if the file already exists in the cloud and then puts a check mark next to indicate that it is synchronized...

  What makes it more problematic is the fact that the photos app is not download new content from my photo library until the download is finished... so I have about 5 days of photos in icloud which are not visible on my imac...

  I tried searching but the photos.app unfortunately vague name and a ton of articles vague time machine has proved to be an obstacle that cannot overcome my Googling skills.

  Photos have no way to know if the 'new' restored library is the same as what is stored in iCloud photo library, then it is control a single photo at a time...

  You can pause downloading pictures > Preferences > iCloud, and then resume it during the night when it is not slowing down your normal use.

• Time Machine deleted messages on an external drive to the trash can on iMac are taking place on the hard drive?

  I am struggling with a computer, try to empty the trash with 1million 300,000 Time machine backup files. It runs for two days now and won't install. At this rate, I'll need a week before my computer becomes viable. I don't feel able to go to the Terminal to do the trick. Also at this point, I'm afraid to stop the process again... Backups on an external drive of pigs 400 GB on my drive hard imac... I have so little room to work right now. I deleted some 200,000 files already yet the storage on my imac HD has not moved. The files in the Recycle Bin of the external drive really live on my hd now until they will be deleted if all goes well before Christmas?

  I have a new computer to come next week so I'm wondering if I'll just reformat my entire hd in my imac to solve this problem... Any ideas?

  You do all this in the Finder?

  Time Machine has to delete the files from the user interface, normally "browsing Time Machine backup", navigate to the desired folder, and select the option "delete all backups of...» ». This is the approved way that should work.

  If you are manually dragging the items in the trash of in a Time Machine backup, it can choke. Time Machine stores data with many levels of access control permissions & Finder seems to have difficulties to remove to empty the trash. In fact, I think that the TM drive has limits to prevent normal users to change data on this disk.

  Personally, I think your safest option is to abandon the process, restart, erase and reformat the Time Machine drive. Who will lose all history backups but again in a clean condition seems to be better than trying to manually prune the Time Machine data. Time Machine removes old backups when it is full - so you shouldn't really need to intervene like this anyway.

  Wait and see if anyone has a better idea.

  P.S., each disk has its own "basket", so doing drag items should not fill your Mac startup disk. Maybe the operating system is out of memory, try to process all the files, exit other applications & see if that changes anything, you may have to wait just if you want to avoid to abandon the process.
