I PUT A NEW CARTRIDGE IN A LEXMARK 900 PRO PRINTER, AND IT TELLS ME NO CARTRIDGE?

HE WENT OUT AND PUT THE NEW ONE, SAME STORY? WHY IS THAT WHAT IT IS DOING THIS?

Hello

Thanks for posting your query on the Microsoft Community.

According to the description of the problem your printer said no cartridge. The issue could cartridges. Printing problems can be caused by cables that are not properly connected, corrupt, drivers, incompatible drivers, the printer settings, missing updates and problems with your printer.

I suggest first to check if there is no problem with cartridges and if possible, try to change with a new and see if it makes a difference. You can also try to clean the ink cartridge nozzles.

If the problem persists, you can try the steps outlined in the methods mentioned below and see if it helps you to solve the problem.

Method 1
Try the printer troubleshooter, which will attempt to diagnose and solve your problem automatically.

http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/open-the-printer-Troubleshooter

Method 2
Clear printer spooler files and select the spooler service.

Step 1
a. Click Start, type "Services.msc" (without the quotation marks) in the Open box and click OK.
b. double click on "Printer Spooler" in the Services list.
c. click on stop, and then click OK.
d. Click Start, type "% WINDIR%\system32\spool\printers" in the opened window and delete all the files in this folder.

Step 2

You must be logged on as administrator to perform these steps.

a. open administrative tools by clicking the Start button, then Control Panel. In the search box, type administrative tools, and then click Administrative Tools.
b. double-click on Services. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
c. right-click on Print Spooler serviceand then click Properties.
d. on the general tab, next to startup type, make sure that automatic is selected.

    Hello

strange that you can request that

HP computers have been known to not let you install Vista on a non HP bought replacement hard drive

There were a few posters with this problem here

If the OEM disc for this particular laptop, you should be able to reinstall it as many times as you want as long as you have not changed the main material (the motherboard)

You can change the hard drives, RAM, etc.

I presume that you boot from the Vista DVD

    Hello

    Welcome to the Microsoft community.

What operating system is installed on the computer?

You may need to check if you have followed the actual procedure to change the ink cartridges.

  • New cartridge is installed, immediately remove and reinstall

I just installed a new yellow cartridge in my HP Photosmart 5514.  Without printing anything, I pulled it out (thinking that I had installed the wrong color necessary) and checked the levels of supply.  I need the yellow and I reinstalled it.  I went back to check the power level after the installation and without printing anything, the chart of supply showed about 1/8th of the level down.  A new... why cartridge?

It has some ink used when a cartridge is installed in the printhead of "first."  By removing and reinserting the printhead, you caused this process repeats, which may have caused the ink level indicator down with one click.

  • New cartridge refill problems

I put in new cartridges of HP ink at the address.  My printer is still telling me to change the cartridges.  I put the old cartridges back in & it worked.  Would it be possible that I bought empty cartridges or bad?

    Hello

What is a refill cartridge? Probably the chip always tells the printer WITHOUT ink. I think that just return and get your money back.

    Kind regards.

  • HP Officejet Pro 8500 a: printers print only after the new cartridges installed

Whenever I put in new cartridges I have problems with the print head alignment, then it usually printed.  This time, he was sitting with cartridges empty color for awhile and now it does not print at all.  I always use only the new HP cartridges.  It fails the alignment and the blue and yellow and sometimes the magenta show on the sheet alignment.  What is the print heads?  Why would I need to change them whenever I have to add ink cartridges new which makes no sense.  I have never changed them, but they worked very well until I added the new ink.

    Hey @janh1058,

Welcome to the Forum from HP Support.  I hope you enjoy your experience here.

I understand that e-all-in-one-HP Officejet Pro 8500 a your printer is printing is no longer.  I would like to work with you on this. I have a few suggestions that might restore your printing capabilities.

It could be that the long period of inactivity of dormancy has dried the print head, even if you have made the right choice in leaving the cartridges installed in the printer.  I recommend you try the following basic troubleshooting steps before embarking on a manual print head cleaning more intensive:

    • Click here and clean the printhead automatically via the front panel of the printer, as shown in the second Solution.
    • Repeat three times if you still have print quality issues.
    • Remove and reinsert the cartridges once more with the printer to force the printer to print a different allignment page.
    • This to improve the print quality?

If you use always the same question, I have a few more advanced troubleshooting tips:

  • Instant ink / no new cartridge sent / Support questions

    Hello

I just wanted to post a message to express my discontent around the Ink Instant subscription service. I am based in the UK and signed to instant ink.

Last week I ran out of ink, and I had not sent a new cartridge. I emailed HP and received an automated response advising that anyone on the suggestions within 1 day. two days later I phoned HP that I had not received a response to my email (it is now 3 days and still no response by the way).

The representative of HP connected my call and said I had to be my printer to go through certain steps. The call center is open 09:00 - 18:00 Monday - Friday, which no help for me as I work full time so there may not be to my printer to connect the call.

I called back the next day with the serial number of the printer. They confirmed that the guarantee was still valid, but I don't see the relevance in what I was calling about the subscription to instant ink, not a printer warranty issue.

Still, I learned that I needed to be in front of my printer. However after I said that I could not because of this due to working full time and their call center hours are limited, I was put through another Department. They load a new cartridge to be sent to me I expect every day now.

I know that the instant the ink program is new to the United Kingdom however I was extremely disappointed that:

    (1) sent me a new cartridge before my race an existing

    (2) there was no acknowledgement of receipt of my e-mail asking a new cartridge

    (3) the steps I went through to record a call with your center of calls about the series printer when it was the program of the instant ink on what I called

Now, I was without a printer for a week due to having no ink. I hope this feedback is taken into account, and I sincerely hope that I don't have to go through that pain once again when I need a next set of cartridges

Hi, the details have been sent the instant team of ink. Could you please let us know when it's resolved?

    Thanks, Ciara

  • New cartridge for Photosmart HP 6510 appears defective

I just replaced the old magenta cartridge in my Photosmart HP 6510 with a brand new printer, pack of 4, and it is now telling me that or toner appears to be missing or damaged. The new cartridge looks in good condition and is broken down and repeat the relocation or power off the printer do not help.  I tried cleaning the contacts, but everything seems very clean.

I managed to get the printer working again with the old magenta cartridge up to who has certainly missed, but now the same error is detected, leaving me with a printer that does not even to print only black.

I bought the original cartridge in a pack of 4 from Amazon, so have little chance to return the fauly cartridge (even though they agreed it was defective).  Looks like I'll have to do a magenta and hope that works, but in the meantime, has anyone any ideas how I can persuade the printer to work using only in black?

    Hello

There could be two possibilities for that matter, ink cartridge you bought or print head.

Try installing the old cartridge and check if the error.

If Yes, then his problem with the printhead, and the printer must be replaced under the print head is fixed part this printer.

If not, then the new cartridge is defective contact, HP Technical Support for assistance. If the new cartridge genuine HP, then iam sure Technical Support should help you get the repalced the cartridge (if you are in the United States).

Please call the HP Technical Support for assistance.

If you are in the United States, the toll free # is 1-800-474-6836.

If you're not in the United States, and then connect to www.hp.com , bottom left it is an icon of the world map, click it and then select the region that you belong to, which would then provide the support options for you for this region.

  • M251 prints no color with new cartridges

Got 3 new printer cartridges and the authenticated with HP.  Cannot obtain now any color at all on test prints or otherwise M251 my computer HP laptop or Dell desktop computer when both are in color printing, etc. Having run on the menu printer color calibration. All printed in B & W.  (First time I've ever used this printer there was no problem at all getting automatically the pages in color.)  Somehow, this must be a stupid problem, but I can find no other choice/color control menu to return.

YES, HE IS A STUPID PROBLEM THAT I GUESSED.  BUT I BLAME ON HP.

After inserting 3 new color printer cartridges print B & W.  The B & W cartridge was nearing the end of his life, showing no % but still print perfectly.  So I outside Exchange with new color cartridges.

I appreciate the help sent to me file, but who did not understand the solution of a sentence I had to pay for.  After 45 minutes with my PC tech, I suggested that perhaps we should try to replace the B & W cartridge, too - maybe the printer "required" all new cartridges.

YES.  HP has DECIDED THAT YOU will BE FORCE FOR CHANGE to all THE 4 CARTRIDGES in this situation, even if the black still works fine.  Clever marketing, poor customer relations.  BOO!

  • Printing error after loading the new cartridge

After loading a new cartridge (genuine) 338, everything I print has the top of the first line is missing. I rebooted the old cartridge and it prints the line correctly (even slightly). I tried to reload a new, but it still does not print correctly. The alignment test after loading was very good. Can anyone help me to solve the problem or is it just a faulty cartridge?

Rich thanks for your help and for taking the time to answer my question. I'm sorry that I was not to give complete information about the printer, as this has been my first post - I'll do better next time. The issue has resolved itself today! After several attempts to print and reload the cartridge, I dropped, but unexpectedly, the printer has pulled up and began to do a second test of its own alignment, and that solved the problem.
