Puzzled! Inspiron 5010 15R or Vostro V3500

Hello to all families!

I intend to buy a new laptop for my personal use and of course some special activities (such as editing photos, website, design, software programming and similarly). and I came up with two models, I realized because limited capital, saw the core i3 processor which are:

  • Inspiron 15R 5010
  • Vostro V3500

but now, I am confused, totally. What model would be awesome, I mean at least good to my extent.

One, here, tell me - who among them would be the right term of usability? or at least better than the other?

Well I'll take a shot at it here:

Vostro, hands down. As a business machine, it will have a much better build quality. From my experience with Dell Inspiron series had notorious inconsistency in the quality of construction. Vostro, XPS Studio & Latitude machines however are much better built.

So between your two options, go with the Vostro. If you can afford, since you are on a limited capital base, get 4 GB of RAM. It may be an investment later if you can't afford it right now, but it would be the only upgrade that I encourage you to do so in the immediate future in the short term. Get 6 GB or 8 GB later on (1 - 1.5 years from now) If you can manage. The reason for this is that photo editing, while going to a dedicated GPU, can quickly use a lot of RAM. In addition, programming design & site will use a lot of RAM in a hurry let (according to the type of programming that you do).

If you have any other concerns please ask.

  • Loooow Volume with srs 'premium sound' on Inspiron 5010

I have a laptop Dell Inspiron 5010 and when you move the volume to 100%, I can barely hear the sound.

My husband has a Dell Inspiron N5110 (we have two Windows 7) and its sound is supreme!  (My 100% is his 20%!)  I have all its parameters set in correspondence with my machine and my volume is still unacceptable.

I am trying to edit music on my laptop and I can't hear it accurately!   A Dell sales representative suggested that I have buy another card its srs... What do you think?  I'm not tech savvy, I'll have to take it to someone to install the new card.  This could be something simple like an audio driver problem?

I'd appreciate your suggestions! Thank you...

Hello. The problem is in the hardware or the audio driver. Although both the Inspiron N5010 15 and Inspiron 15R N5110 IDT audio material, they do not share the same audio driver IDT, so that could explain the difference (or it could be a hardware problem).

I suggest you try all the audio drivers available for your model to see if it gives the greatest volume. 2 available IDT drivers:

    IDT 6.10.0.6267 (old)

    IDT 6.10.0.6289 (most recent)

You have currently either one of those or the driver audio Windows native. I suggest you just go about it like that.

First open the Device Manager (type devmgmt.msc in the start menu > Search box and press enter). Expand the 'controllers, audio, video & game"and look for"IDT High Definition Audio Codec ". If it's there, right-click on it and 'uninstall' and select the delete files option. Restart the laptop and check in the Device Manager again to be sure that IDT has disappeared. If this is not the case, repeat. When you see just "high definition Audio Device" instead of IDT, then you are ready to test pilots.

    1. the pilot named simply "High definition Audio Device" is the native Windows audio driver. When you looked in Device Manager first, IDT was not here it means that you have already been using the native driver. Test the audio with the native driver and note the volume level.

    2. download and install the IDT 6.10.0.6267 (former) driver. Test and note the volume.

    3. download and install the IDT 6.10.0.6289 (newer) driver. Test and note the volume.

If the old driver IDT made the better, you must completely remove the most recent old IDT driver files before you can install the other more again (as per instructions above).

If the native driver was the best, here's a simple way to switch backwards between the natives and the IDT drivers. The reason why you do not want to do, it is that the external microphone jack does not work when you use the native driver.

    1. open Device Manager (type devmgmt.msc in the start search box and press ENTER).
    2. develop the 'audio controllers, video & game' and right click on "IDT High Definition Audio Codec".
3 Select this option to "Update driver software".
    4. click on "Browse my computer for driver software".
    5. click on "Let Me pick from a list of drivers on my computer".
    6. put the "Show compatible hardware" check box if not already checked.
    7. in the list of devices, click on 'High Definition Audio"(native driver).
    8. click on "next".
    9. in the update driver warning box, click 'Yes' (the driver).
10 restart the portable computer if you are prompted. If not invited, so no need to restart.
[To return to the IDT pilot, do it again but reverse the names in steps 1-6.]

If all drivers provide poor volume then it's a hardware problem. In this case, you could improve volume using the equalizer to your audio player, such as Windows Media Player and all levels by pushing all the way to the top. Another thing is to use the popular VLC media player which has a function to amplify the volume of more than 100%, but note that this can damage your laptop speakers because it performs this trick by saturation of the amplifier which creates a type of small speakers audio distortion can not manage. However, occasional small boost must be correct in most cases.

Probably the best way to cope is to use headphones or external speakers when editing and let them provide the volume you need.

A Dell sales representative suggested that I have buy another card its srs... What do you think?  I'm not tech savvy, I'll have to take it to someone to install the new card.

"SRS" is software. Your "sound card" is an IDT audio chip on the motherboard that can not be replaced. When audio hardware craps, you will need to install a new motherboard. However, you can use a usb instead of your IDT audio sound card, but it will not play through the laptop speakers - you can use headphones or external speakers which you could do now anyway.

There is a device that handset usb sound card and external speakers - usb-speakers. These devices are small speakers that get their power from the usb port, so they are portable and some are quite cheap. They contain their own "sound card" (CED), so they do not use the IDT audio. These devices are not very powerful but should provide at least as much volume 15R N5110 puts out.

Everyone has improved in WIN 7 to 10 on this machine? Problems occur? Power works fine? Stay with WIN 7 or go with WIN 10?

    Hello:

I did my upgrade to win 10 on my Dell inspiron 5010 a month ago, it worked perfectly, no problems not mentioned at all, the Win 10 story is what it the correct yourself. I was struggling after installation and thought I did a big mistake to upgrade, but all you need to do is keep pluged for internet connection and it does everything for drivers. I was surprised after all.

Finally, I read somewhere that Microsoft will force everyone to move to Win 10 very soon. This will not be an option more.

If someone has a solution then I enjoyed before you solve this one.

    Thanks and appreciated in Advace.

I had the same problem with my dell inspiron 5010. The problem is probably with the connector at the back of the laptop. There are 3 types of connectors, + 19.5V, grounded and printing.

I solved it by bending the pins outward leaving the centering pin (sense) free.

Your Dell has either a partition recovery hidden with which the first use of your PC you must have created recovery disks or recovery disks would be provided by Dell.

It's all that you need to restore to factory State

Your missing dll refers to a third-party program to Lead Tech, it's not a core win file

  • marks on the screen. Can it be repaired? Please suggest

I have a DELL lappi and it was almost 2 years and now I get marks on my screen just above the Center even if it was small, but it increases day by day.please suggest what to do? or I change my screen?

--> I don't think I have clarification RAM or something else, model - Inspiron 5010

The brands they always start the same size or they stay enlarged size?

If they always start the same size, there is probably an internal hardware component, either the video card or memory that can be failed.

If the brands remain the same, the LCD (screen) may have a "damage".

You must contact Dell as see if your laptop is still covered by a sort of guarantee.  If not, repair a laptop with a broken LCD screen or bad internal components can be costly.   You need to take it to a local mobile repair center and not a "big box" store  The local repair center could then give you an estimate for repairs.

Please note: laptops have a life span shorter than most computers.  Out of warranty repairs tend to be expensive and not "worth" disorders.  You can almost usually replace the laptop with another for just the about the same amount of money, the cost of repairs.

  • my desktop wallpaper went black what I do

one day, I turned on my computer laptop is dell inspiron 5010 and then I saw my desktop background was black and it does not change until everything was ok and I got a great picture on my desk.

Looks like you may have a virus or other malware. Get your updated antivirus program and start safe mode.  Note that some viruses can hide from your normal antivirus program, so you really need to scan mode without failure.  To enter in Safe Mode when you turn on first, press F8 on every seconds until you get the menu, and then select Safe Mode.  Then run a complete system scan.

If that suits him fine. If this is not the case, use system restore to go back to an earlier date at the beginning of the problem.  To run system restore, click Start-> programs-> Accessories-> System Tools-> system restore.  Click on the box that says show more restore points.
    -
You can check the corrupted system files.  Open an administrator command prompt and run SFC if the above does not help. Click START, and then type CMD in the search box, right-click on CMD. EXE, then click on run as administrator. Then from the command prompt, type sfc/scannow.
    -
Finally if all else fails, you can look at the rather cryptic system event log.  To make, click Start-> Control Panel-> administration-> event viewer tools.  Once in Event Viewer system log-click and scroll entries looking for these "error" with indicator see if you can find guidance on where the problem may be.
    `
When you get your system in good working condition, I invite you to back up your system up to an external hard drive and it puts regular periodic updates.

I hope this helps.  Good luck.

Can someone tell me if there is a software that will give me the best feature to the webcam on my Dell Inspiron SE 15R (7520) I have installed Windows 8 Pro and the only option by using the webcam I can see is using the mosaic of the camera on the screen of Windows 8 Metro. A technical support person Dell installed software webcam when I brought my laptop but as I had to reinstall it on factory reset I lost the webcam software and, unfortunately, I cannot remember what that the installed techy guy and no one else I talked to Dell has an idea of what I am referring too. According to Dell support Web page mentions something called Dell Webcam Central but it is not installed on my system and according to the website, that it only refers to it in the sense of Windows 7 and also not the 7520 model. • Compatibility between Inspiron 15R N5010 (5010-7015) and black WD ^ 2 (WD1001X06XDTL) double disc 2.5 "

    Hello

I own a Dell Inspiron 15R N5010 (5010-7015) / i5 / 4 GB RAM / 320 HARD drive and I am interested in the internal hard drive of the upgrade of the series dual drive WD (Black ^ 2 - WD1001X06XDTL).

The system supports SATA2 and a variety of capabilities between 160 GB and 640 GB only for 320 GB and 500 GB at 7200 RPM and 5400 RPM / min according to the manual.

Is it possible that I could upgrade to a WD Black2, or I will face compatibility problems?

The specific model (N5010) supports this technology? The list only I could find was this one: http://wdc.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/11024/~/wd-black%C2%B2-dual-drive-computer-compatibility-list

If not, are there any other alternatives for a hard drive upgrade [i.e. Seagate 1 TB computer laptop SSHD (STBD1000400)] which would have full compatibility?

As you can see I'm looking for something more closely a SSD, but not an SSD.

The black2 is essentially a 120G SSD for the system - which IS supported by your model.  The hard drive is not even considered by the hardware of the system - it is managed by a pilot who is in charge (that's why the Black2 depends on the OS).  Windows accesses the HDD while software - NOT directly by the system.

  • Inspiron 15R (N5110, early 2011)

I am very disappointed by the site of Dell support for this model. It shows 2 different AMD driver downloads...

AMD ATI Mobility Radeon HD 7450/7650

    &

    ATI Mobility Radeon HD 7570M

Problem is this laptop is not (and was not always an option to have) any of these chipsets. Generic AMD drivers (Omega 14.12) do not work properly. I tried to download the driver of HD 6470 M by searching from Dell website, but the pilot shows that only being compatible for Vostro Notebook 3555 and Inspiron M5110. When I installed this driver, it's pretend complete installation but then nothing (Catalyst Control Center was not available after reboot and still a yellow! in Device Manager)

    Any ideas?

Its an AMD 6470 M and Dell have Windows 7 and 8.0 drivers here:
