  • MP3 on Clip not recognized on Windows XP

I had my 2 GB click for almost a year.  I have all my music on my win2k desktop.  So I just plug the clamp and dump mp3 top and it works fine.  HOWEVER... I plugged the video on my Windows XP computer at work a few weeks ago, and none of the music that I have loaded on it is visible.  It only shows the Mp3 that were shipped with the player.  I thought it was a fluke, but now I'm on a trip, and I'm on my laptop Windows XP - same problem.  It recognizes the Sansa by name, even has a little different icon by it, but when I open it, I see only the folders 'Data' and 'media '.  In the 'Media' folder, the Mp3 only I see are the four that comes with it.  Why is this happening?

Nevermind, I followed the instructions here
    http://forums.SanDisk.com/Sansa/board/message?board.ID=clip&thread.ID=10533

To put the hold and press button Center and there he recognized as a removable disk.  Then I could install the new firmware and * now * I get the "USB Mode" option in the settings.

    Description of the problem:

    Steps to recreate:

    UEFI:

    1. Start the PC in diagnosis system UEFI (F2 at the STATION)
    2. Pane controls

    Relevant system specs:

Mobile: HP Pavilion 15-n023sa (construction of vanilla)

    Optical drive: HP DVDRAM gu70n

    Steps already taken to solve:

    • Replaced the DVD drive with one of the similar specs of HP Pavilion. The replaced gn70n perfectly in the other machine. No change on problem laptop. Conclusion: DVD player works, and there is no problems with Windows 8.1 (x 64).
    • Removed DVD player. Restarted the computer. Sign in to Windows. Stop. Replace the DVD drive. Start the laptop. This is trying to solve defects of material with the PnP devices; more help to solve any problems of intermittent loose connection. Conclusion: No change.

The DVD drive is NOT detected by diagnostics system UEFI.

There is reference to the DVD in BIOS drive NUMBER , other than as an option of Setup, which is generic.
