Qosmio F10 and WinDVD Creator: capture unrecognized devices

A similar problem in a previous post, but the proposed solution does not work. I am trying to record from VCR using the creator, but it lists no capture device, despite video and audio going OK on composite in. I have to do to get to recognize the entries?

I have a Qosmio G10 and WinDVD creator 2, such that comes with the machine. I am trying to copy some old VHS tapes on my HDD using WinDVD creator and the composite entry next to the socket (connected on VHS by the SCART and supplied adapter)

WinDVDc is not see anything at all to record from, and even less the composite input (which works fine when I press the "input select" button right next to the adjustment of brightness on the machine screw). I cannot therefore see or record through my TV signal analog, which is near the top and works very well in MC. I can record using MC but trust the dvr - ms format it uses is not editable and is much too inflated.

I also tried to use nerovision for the same purpose, but I get an error message saying "capture device is already in use...". ».

Sorry if it's a question of intervideo, but Tosh forums seem more useful.

    Help!

    Hey Jake

Watch download drivers (the valid section for your model and OS) for a registry patch. Take a look also at the info for it. I think this should solve your problem. This means that you will get the Composite as a data source in WinDVD Creator valid entry.

    Good luck

  • Display bug with Tuner TV Toshiba, MCE and WinDVD Creator 2 for Toshiba

Hello, I discovered a bug that has been troubling for a long time.
When I watch TV in MCE, the image is a little tense and off-center to the right, which means that I do not see the right side of the screen.

When I reinstall the TV Tuner driver, version 1.2.0.6, it corrects the problem, and the image is full screen and perfectly centered in Media Center.

So I spent some time trying to find what was causing the centered and stretched image bug and it seems that it is created by 'WinDVD Creator 2 for Toshiba' which has been packaged with my Qosmio.

I tracked the problem to be a parameter in the registry to the following key:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE es\ttv200x\Parameters
The "VideoRes", which is set to '0' by the TV tuner driver, is set to '4' after WinDVD Creator 2 for Toshiba is used and from that moment, the bug is visible in MCE.

I've found a workaround with the parameter 'VideoRes' return '0' and restart the computer, then the screen is OK once again in MCE.

If for some reason, WinDVD Creator 2 makes this change automatically in the registry of TV tuner setting.

Can Toshiba releasing a patch for WinDVD Creator 2 fix the problem?

I think it's affecting all the owners of Qosmio with TV tuner.

    Thank you for your support.

    Alcahest

    Hello

WinDVD Creator 2 is designed by Intervideo, not Toshiba.
But like you said that the new version of driver has solved this problem.
Nevertheless thanks for your posting. It s very useful.

    Good bye

  • Qosmio F10 and TV connection via SCART?

I try to display on television. using the output S-video of my Qosmio F10 I have no problem. However my TV S-video entry is at the front behind the door of some panels, so it is much more convenient to use one of the inputs SCART on the back of my TV.

I've never had problems with one of these entries SCART (it worked perfectly with VCRs, DVDplayers), but now everything I try I can't get it to work with the cable SCART provided with the Qosmio.

How is it? is there a way I can test it there is a signal on the output in the cable SCART on my Qosmio?

    Hello

If you want to send the signal to the TV using the SCART, you can use adapter SCART (In/Out). Google a bit and I'm sure you can find the best solution.

You can also get the best information in some electronics stores. There you can get appropriate technical advice.

I live in Iran. I installed a professional XP on my laptop too and most of the games that he is in Iran are cracked. I have problems with games. Some games load without problem these FIFA 2005, but some of them will not load.
Once I installed XIII in standard mode and it will not load again I installed even play clean
then it loads only once, and now even once it does not load.
    I don't know what I'm doing?

    Hey Amir,

As you know, more recent games manufacturers use very sophisticated on their CD/DVD copy protection techniques and it is not always possible to circumvent these routines successfully.

The effect of this is that the CD will not always load or run correctly. Some will complete the loading process, but will not then allow the game to run. Sometimes, the game will work but in reduced mode with no options available active game.

Unfortunately I don't know any way to avoid this happening other than to try to get the real game CD if possible.

Good luck with your game of :>)

    Hello

It is not easy to say why this is happening. I recommend you to use another application to create DVD and check if the problem persists.

  • Qosmio F10 and receiver TV - or not in my case

I have set up my Qosmio to receive the satellite through the cable SCART (and Yes, I changed the BIOS as described). It changes beautifully satellite channels on the TV, but does not display the image on the laptop. Have tried every combination I can think overall upward but he always said not to find a signal. All I get is a black screen, both in the editing of the scene and 'live TV '. I checked my satellite and quality signal strength and they are both good.
    Any ideas gratefully received.

    Hello tracie

As far as I know your unit a video port and video output. Have you already checked in s operating manuals which ports are video - in ports? I'm not sure but cable SCART is no plug-in software component video port. If you want to use the TV tuner, you can use S-Video port, Composite or coaxial in antenna.

    Hello

I created the DVD Qosmio G20 and this unit is probably more simple as on your F20. In any case if you carefully read the user for F20 manuals described therein:

    Video - in Port
The port is used differently depending on the OS used in the computer.

Windows XP Home Edition model: with the VIDEO-IN cable bundle, peripheral external such as TV, VCR, etc., can be connected to the computer and with WinDVR and WinDVD Creator Platinum 2 can be used to modify or view the entries.

Media Center Edition model: with the cable to VIDEO IN cable or satellite set-top boxes can be connected to the computer to watch channels. Video not CAN NOT be retrieved for editing as in the model of Windows XP Home Edition.

Now the question: which OS comes with your F20?

  • Qosmio F10 is always hot

    Hello

I have a Qosmio F10 and my problem is that the fan runs all the time because he's hot. "I am obliged" to the low and fixed frequency to solve that. But in normal mode it heats up, even if I only surf on the Web.
    What should I do?
    You have an idea?

    Hi benlog

To my knowledge, books are of high technologies and machines of many parties in the products of the unit a lot of heat. For example: graphics chip. I put t now how you use the laptop but it is recommended to use it on the desktop. On this way, the cooling fan can work properly. Secondly, a lot of background processes running on the device. Processor must therefore operate with higher performance and produce more heat.
Moreover, my machine is also fairly warmly.

    Best regards

  • How to start IrDA by the BIOS on my Qosmio F10?

    Hello

I have a Qosmio F10, and I read that the port IrDA does not start by the bios at startup, but by the operating system.
How can I do to start my IrDA port with the bios at startup? Is this possible? Cause that will help you a lot

Another question, yesterday I've post a message on the Linux driver. When I ve clicked on "post message" I ve got a message "this message must be approved by a moderator" but, I do not see my forum topic, but why yesterday, my topic was to be accepted by a moderator and today my topic doesn't have it?

    Post edited by: benlog

    Hello

It is not possible to make some changes on the IRDA port in the BIOS. If the IRDA port is available on the machine, the operating system can recognize automatically. As far as I know that the infrared port is always enabled for communication with the other device that has obtained permit port IRDA.

  • Qosmio F10: new battery needed

My name is Batool Mohdhir, I was wondering if you could help me with something, please. I have a toshiba Qosmio F10 and I need new batteries that my batteries are ruined for some reason any! the model # I found written on my battery Li-ion battery model is PA3285-2BRS. I found on several sites in the same farm, except that its 1BRS. I don't know what that means! It is suitable for my laptop or is it not? If not, where can I buy the model I need online? What websites is the best to buy online laptop parts? and also I need an adapter model PA-2521U-1ACA, but I could not find. What other adapters are suitable for the Qosmio F10? I'm looking forward to your hearing you soon.

    Hello

At a first of all welcome to the Toshiba Support forum. I hope that you will find here information quite useful.

Back to your question: I checked the Qosmio specification and there is that your device needs to follow the described parts:
    Power adapter - PA2521E-2ACA or PA2521U-2ACA (90W)
    Battery - PA3285U

I put t know in which country you live but if there is no Toshiba service partner you can order directly by them. Another way to check if you can find some offereor online in your country where you can order the parts you need. I'm sure you can find some not Toshiba universal AC adapt, but I prefer the use of original parts.

    Bye and good luck!
