  I use Adobe Acrobat Professional 8. All my copy (all text) is displayed in blue on the screen, when it is supposed to be black. When I send to the printer however it prints correctly in black.   My problem is this: I have not changed of _anything_ in the BIOS for a log time. I have not installed new software or hardware lately. And I have not damaged my computer or anything like that. A few days ago I read a Web page when my computer turns off suddenly. It turned on automatically, then it asks me how to restart... count up to normal restart... the blue screen of death... restarts, wonder how... I choose "Safe Mode"... BSOD. I press F8 and try all possible options, but the result is always the same.

  A blue screen indicates: "MACHINE_CHECK_EXCEPTION" or something like that. I'll send more information about blue screens later and more machine ID.

  If someone has any idea what happed and how this could be fixed, do not hesitate to write.

  I can't access Windows and I won't use CD recovery (yet) because I need to save some data to the HARD drive first.

  Ok. Here's some additional context information.

  My laptop Qosmio G10-105, model PQG10E-01D016FSR. After disassembly I was not able to access the windows more - not again. Several times that I managed to get into SafeMode so far, I was able to see the text "Safe mode" in every corner of the Welcome screen, but then it crashes. Once or twice the same in normal mode, Windows on the Welcome screen appears, but then it crashes immediately. In these crashes, blue screen says "MACHINE_CHECK_EXCEPTION" or 'PFN_LIST_CORRUPT' and landfills fysical memory on disk.

  If she does not get there and computer falls down at the beginning (even if the Windows loading screen) it restarts all computer instantly. Sometimes, he does not screen blue but says the following file is missing or corrupt: \WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\CONFIG\SYSTEM. This error can appear four or five times in a row then it tries to start normally, but blue screen crashes again.

• X 300-11 of Qosmio - can't calibrate the screen

  I just got in photo retouching and I'm having a lot of difficulties to calibrate my screen on my Qosmio X 300 - 11.

  I am using Adobe gamma to make the correct adjustments, but it won t work properly. I start by changing the brightness/contrast at the appropriate level, but every time I continue to try and adjust the gamma that the screen immediately goes back to the initial brightness. I then have to go back and move only 1 point upwards or downwards on the brightness and back again (Control Panel Nvidia) slider to get the correct settings. If I can continue to try to adjust the gamma again the same thing happens again. And whenever I restart the computer, the screen is back that it is the normal brightness level, although levels remain the same in the Nvidia Control Panel.

  So it of impossible for me to reach the right levels. I have all the latest drivers installed and I don t know how to go about this to do right. Really would like some help here. Has anyone reached the right levels for photo editing?

  Note: After you remove Adobe Gamma Loader on the startup folder, Adobe Gamma is always available in the Control Panel, but its settings are not loaded at Windows startup. Photoshop continues to use Adobe Gamma to access the monitor profile that you specified.

  Coffee was spilled on my Qosmio G20 yesterday, my first reaction was to try to keep out of the keyboard and PCB below, but this resulted in a few enter the screen leaving a stain on the left hand side (the region is actually brighter than the rest of the screen).

  Are there instructions anywhere on the disassembly of the screen as I wonder whether to go inside and try to clean this area or just live with it.

  I have no Toshiba dealers anywhere near me and that you do not want to send the laptop away for several weeks.

  Put your finger on the menu bar.  While continually pressing the screen, slide your finger upward, toward the top of your screen.  Presto, problem fixed!

  I took the machine to the store and they replaced it with a new brand. I have since started receiving the same messages on the new machine.

  I tried to install the latest graphics driver for toshiba and then I tried the last of nvidia, neither solved the problem.

  I tried to restore to the factory since the recovery discs settings, download new drivers, nothing seems to help.

  Was I unlucky enough get two faulty machines or y at - it a systemic problem with this model that I know? Anyone have any ideas on how to solve this problem?

  The athwb.sys file belongs to the Atheros wireless driver. Usually placed in C:\Windows\System32\drivers\athwb.sys

  You can certainly use the recovery of the product CD to re - install your system to its original state, but this seems a little extreme just to remove an old hardware device to your configuration. You should not need to use the tools and utilities disk unless it contains items that are not in the recovered system.

  I assume the error with the uninstall wizard is because only the original installation used a product CD that cam with scanner HP and the missing DLL is on this CD.

  Toshiba technical support told me that an upgrade of BIOS fix it.

  have you tried to plug the external monitor? If it still shows blue vertical lines, the reason is a failure of the graphics card. (You can also reinstall Windows to check the related issue of f it's Os). Otherwise, contact the after-sales service.

  I recently got Qosmio G10. Although the manual says he has an infrared device (not the remote control sensor), I don't see the device in "Device Manager".
