Qosmio G10 - fan on after 5 min indefnitely.

I plan to get rid of this machine if I can't do something about it. Having a fan to kick in a homogeneous heat when windows is idle before the machine seems upward and never turn off seems weird, I have to stay with my M60 who has no problem fan.

The utility is there someone posted here a while, this could be the answer to this very big headache. I have tried everything what in the power management and update the TV tuner, but nothing helped. So I'm out of ideas, as a musician, a laptop with fan like this is unusable.

Thanks in advance.

Hello

My fan runs constantly at very low speed and it quieter s that it kicks on for a while and would go with more high speed.

However, I m not a user of Qosmio t so I know if it state normal s on your device.
Have you checked the BIOS settings? Maybe there are some parameters that change the behavior of fan.

Did you check if the fans are free? For the most part a dirt and debris inside the laptop would affect the rotation of the fan
Sometimes it s advisable to clean the cooling modules. For this procedure, you can use the jet of compressed air that can be bought in most computer stores.

Best regards

  • Qosmio G10-137: blue screen after re-install using Recovery CD

    Hi all

just got my qosmio G10-137 earlier this week after being under repair since the beginning of the month of January! Guys made the repair found no better then install the Dutch version of the operating system. I don't like this, then I took out my recovery CD and began the recovery. Everything works fine and I am asked to remove the media and reboot my PC.

This beautiful laptop to start early and... Blue screen of death. Restarts, wonder how to restart... count up to normal reboot... BSOD... restarts, wonder how... I choose "Safe Mode"... BSOD... I choose the mode safe mode with prompt... the system.ini file is missing!

It seems that the recovery CD is bogus.

If someone has encountered this? Does anyone have any resolution?

    Kind regards

    Hello

It s very strange because the recovery CD was tested and install several times. It should work without any problems.
I put t know where you come from, but the service partner should install the Windows operating system in the same language. In this case, if you bought the device in Dutch the recovery CD and the OS are in the Dutch language.
Please note that you must use the same recovery CD that came with the device. Another recovery CD will not work.
What you can do is to test the unit with an original CD of Microsoft Windows. It would be very interesting to know if the blue screen appears with the original Windows.

  • Qosmio G10 134: the screen freezes after repair

    Hello

Earlier my Qosmio G10 had to be repaired because of the vertical-bars-in-screen-and-broke-down-videocard-problem. They gave me a new motherboard and Nvidia Go 6600 and the problem was solved. I hoped... Because then I couldn't not to use the graphics card for more than 5 minutes.

When I start playing a game, or so it takes 5, maybe 10 minutes in mind for my screen to freeze. Then precious is unresponsive to anything, even to the Microsoft-Magic-Combination-Ctrl-Alt-Del. very annoying to say the least... Does this sound familiar to anyone?

    Hello

I agree with the agramer. It is possible to s that you got different but better graphics card. On this page, I read that some users who repaired the laptop got a different card because the original of the delivered graphics card was off live.

In this case, you should check your device for details of the map Manager and if necessary, you must install the right graphics card driver.

  • Replacement card mother Qosmio G10

After replacing the card mother a Qosmio G10-120 original Win Xp MCE with the official update (FC43S1 A5A001749010 P000454980 jury), some problems have arisen:

    1. second HARD drive internal no more seen.
    2. all buttons stop "standby/disable rebooting the computer" do not completely take effect (office closed way unexpected but manual power button continues to show the color blue and portable remains active).
    3. always on cooling fan.

    Upgrade the motherboard consisted of:

    1. creation of new channels DMI Council (in particular "Model name" field was set to "Qosmio G10").
    2. loading the CD-ROM TCN0000006 official update tool.
    3. no recovery BIOS or EC/KBC.

    Any idea?

I m wondering how you did update the information in the DMI?
As far as I know that the Toshiba authorised service provider is able to update information DMI as the model name, version number, etc. using utilities and special tools.

I googled for the motherboard part number, you have deposited in your original thread, and it seems that this motherboard has been developed the Qosmio F15 series.

  • Not of his outgoing speakers Qosmio G10

Speakers have stopped working on my Qosmio G10. I had a repair to replace both fans and during the repair workshop, the guy had to return the main card to Toshiba. Apparently, they have provided a new main board but when I got the computer there was no sound in the speakers or the headphones.

I got the repair guy and he got the sound working again by upgrading the BIOS that I had already done, but I guess that was lost when Toshiba provided a new main Board. After getting the House sound was working well, but the next day, speakers weren't yet although his fate always helmet. The only new bit of software I had installed at this time there was Perfect Disk 10. I ran Diagnostics from Toshiba program and who said simply that his failed the test. I ve checked all audio devices in the peripheral and manager who says that they are all functioning normally. At the same time I also had this error message whenever I rebooted:

    Error affected
    Failed to retrieve the "THotkey.
    Error code: 0 x 00031402, 0x00000002

I tried to check everything I could think of, but could not find anything wrong. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated, I use my Qosmio G10 24/7 as a computer and my stereo and TV. Thank you for taking the time to read this. I'm desperate to get it fixed.

    Hello

I can't say much about this issue, but if the technician fixed the laptop and the sound does not work then I recommend contacting the guy again and to ask what he did the first time.

I mean you can try to reinstall the sound card driver again, you can also try to recover the laptop and could check if you get the sound back.
This workaround might help if it would be a software problem, but he is ' only a hardware problem then a technician should check again.

By the way; check if the 'secret' is not activated and if other volumes is set at a max level.

  • Qosmio G10: Blue screen shot and later endless reboot

    Hello!

I found similar topics on this problem, but they were locked and left unanswered.

My problem is this: I have not changed of _anything_ in the BIOS for a log time. I have not installed new software or hardware lately. And I have not damaged my computer or anything like that. A few days ago I read a Web page when my computer turns off suddenly. It turned on automatically, then it asks me how to restart... count up to normal restart... the blue screen of death... restarts, wonder how... I choose "Safe Mode"... BSOD. I press F8 and try all possible options, but the result is always the same.

A blue screen indicates: "MACHINE_CHECK_EXCEPTION" or something like that. I'll send more information about blue screens later and more machine ID.

If someone has any idea what happed and how this could be fixed, do not hesitate to write.

I can't access Windows and I won't use CD recovery (yet) because I need to save some data to the HARD drive first.

I say it's all simply amazing. Graphics card a year ago broke down (blue/green vertical lines, fans are going full throttle) and now this! This is the 2nd time in two years when Qosmio brokes suddenly.

Ok. Here's some additional context information.

My laptop Qosmio G10-105, model PQG10E-01D016FSR. After disassembly I was not able to access the windows more - not again. Several times that I managed to get into SafeMode so far, I was able to see the text "Safe mode" in every corner of the Welcome screen, but then it crashes. Once or twice the same in normal mode, Windows on the Welcome screen appears, but then it crashes immediately. In these crashes, blue screen says "MACHINE_CHECK_EXCEPTION" or 'PFN_LIST_CORRUPT' and landfills fysical memory on disk.

If she does not get there and computer falls down at the beginning (even if the Windows loading screen) it restarts all computer instantly. Sometimes, he does not screen blue but says the following file is missing or corrupt: \WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\CONFIG\SYSTEM. This error can appear four or five times in a row then it tries to start normally, but blue screen crashes again.

I can't find any logic in the accident, nor a way to avoid. It seems that various errors appear randomly. I would like to know if it is a crash HARD drive or something else. Other information are also welcome.

  • Problems of sudden wireless connectivity with Qosmio G10

I had a Qosmio G10 for almost 3 years now, and at least WRT my wireless connection, everything was fine until a few weeks ago.

Little by little I started to lose the ability to connect to a WLAN after getting out of the mode standby (Win XP MCE): the computer wouldn't connect to my WIFI and would keep erratic jumps among the various wireless networks available in the neighborhood, without connect because they are all fixed.

Initially, the problem could be solved by restarting the computer and the router.

Now even that no longer works. I see either all local wireless networks, including mine, without being able to connect, or I see no WLAN at all.

Windows status bar icons both ConfigFree show the small red cross and the system didn't budge. When I see available wireless networks, I'm trying to connect to my own, but then the computer attempts to connect forever. If I order for Toshiba ConfigFree * _For unchecking the checkbox in the properties window_ wireless * and I'm trying to connect manually my WLAN to the computer by dragging a link the said application to another provider program is in control.

I have tried everything that came to my mind, the repair connection, enable/disable WZC, install new drivers for the Intel 2200BG, install the new version of ConfigFree... There is obviously some kind of conflict, but I do not understand what it can be.

I don't know what else to do before decide to reinstall new Windows (oh dear oh dear). Moreover, my ADSL Modem/Router is always the same. The link has been dealt with by WPA/TKIP. Everything works fine with the other 2 computers and a phone with WiFi.

Said by the way and quite surprisingly, a member of the family in another country began just having exactly the same problem on a Toshiba Satellite A110. In this case, the cause may be associated with the change of a Philips to a Linksys modem/router (either DHCP;) WPA/TKIP unchanged; everything works with another laptop in the same household)

    Can someone please help?

Why use the CnfigFree tool to connect to the WLan?
According to your message, you are using the Intel card.
I would recommend so either use the Intel ProSet WLan client configuration tool or the clean option of Windows!

    > try to manually connect my WLAN to the computer by dragging a link the said application to another provider program is in control
I assume that this error message is displayed because the ConfigFree is always chosen as tool to configure the WiFi network.

However, the new installation of the OS may not be bad idea due to the fact that everything would be set up again.

    Hello

Basically, I tried to show my parents on their TV from uni photos (Qosmio G10 - WIn MCE 2005). And it worked! Sorry mate but I put t understand what you did exactly

  • Qosmio G10 does not work - some graphic problems

    Hello
I have a Qosmio G10 a few years back, within the first year of its use the graphics seemed to go crazy after using it for games.
Since then, I've left the but recently I dug to see if I can get it fixed it as my partner needs.

    1. whenever I start it I have a white screen with sound (I can get the screen each time by pressing F5 (current view).
    2. I tried the system restore cd, but when it finishes I wake a fragmented Windows screen with the beginning bar all over the place, and then it just freezes
    3. However, when I try a professional XP operating system to recover (I found somewhere), it starts up no probs apart from a few blue vertical lines on the screen, starting when I get on the desktop there is no probs although res is set to low and used to move (no graphics driver). Then I tried to load the Qosmio tools & utilities and can support all but the Chipset (that quite fragmented and I have to restart the whole process) and driver nvidia Gforce graphics that I assume will not charge because the chipset?

I thought it might be a cd of defective recovery but when I changed during a hard drive of new fresh on the wrapper started everthing briefly as it should do this before, he crashed any temptation of power again.

Pulling my hair out please help!

    Hello

    > 1. Every time I start it I have a white screen with sound (I can get the screen each time by pressing F5 (current view).
Looks like the screen is positioned on the external monitor and so nothing does not appear on the internal screen laptops. Perhaps this happens because of the changed settings in the properties of the graphics card.

    > 2. I tried the system restore cd, but when it finishes I wake a fragmented Windows start with the bar start screen all over the place, and then it just freezes
Usually the laptop should start correctly after the installation of the recovery CD. If the laptop freezes then a hardware problem is possible.

    > 3. However when I try an operating system XP Professional to recover (I found somewhere), it starts up no probs apart from a few blue vertical lines on the screen, starting when I get on the desktop there is no probs although res is set to low and used to move (no graphics driver). In my view, your graphics card could malfunction. I come to the conclusion because the laptop works ok until the graphics driver will be installed. Without graphic driver installed the laptop seems to run I think GPU dysfunction could also be the reason why the laptop does not start correctly after the installation of the recovery CD. The restore CD already contains the graphics driver that controls the graphics card chip

So in my opinion, you should contact the ASP in your country for a control of the laptop.
Maybe the technicians could find the fault.

    Good luck

  • Qosmio G10: Monitor completely blackened

    Hello!

I have a problem with my Qosmio G10, I turn on the laptop, the fan made a noise, and finally he logs in Windows. Meanwhile, I can't see what is happening, because the screen is blacked out. I hear just to log on Windows.

I tried to connect a normal PC monitor, in addition to press Fn + F5, which is the shortcut key for b/w display switch types.

If anyone has or has had the same problem and could help me, I would be more than grateful, as long as this problem is happening for weeks.

    Hello

Have you tried to boot in safe mode?
Please check if this is possible and if it will not solve the problem of the display.

But if the note, then I suggest that there is something wrong with the display or a part of the screen for example: FL inverter.
In this case the best way is to contact Toshiba service partner because he could do a diagnostic test and it can get a good answer what part is default.

  • Qosmio G10: Keys detachment

Several of my Qosmio G10 keys are suspended a thread! (Alt, 2 small button) My PC is still under warranty, but Toshiba have written that, since it is a 'physical' problem, repair (and the survey) will be at my expense. I think it is outrageous. Others have this experience? If so, let's talk... Hubert33

    Hello Hubert

I'm not an expert for names, but this time I think you are of the Germany. Am I wrong? ;)

Back to your problem: I guess your Qosmio is one year (date of registration on this forum) and it is possible that there is a physical problem. AFAIK this kind of problems are mainly caused by the user himself. All Toshiba keyboards are built on the same path and I really can't believe that the Qosmio was worse than mine old Tecra 9100 keyboard (still works perfectly).

I can understand that you are surprised by the response that you got by service, but in my opinion it is a normal reaction, because many users damage books himself and want to use warranty valid. In my opinion, you must call and explain the situation without negative tension. I'm sure that you get a new keyboard.

    Good luck Hubert

  • Qosmio G10 begins with vertical lines on the screen

    Hello, can anyone help?

When I try to start my sign qosmio G10 comes on with vertical lines on the screen. And the screen goes black and I can only hear the fan.
In VGA mode, it begins upward, but always with the lines on the screen.
Is there something wrong with the video card? In my view, that there are more people with this problem.
    Toshiba offered little help?

I'm 'out out of warranty '. I need to by a new complete motherboard or y at - it another option? Replace the video card?

    Hello

Its a shame about the warranty because you ask the service partner Toshiba for the verification of the laptop and this procedure would be free. You know, the warranty would cover the audit of the laptop.

But I would say the external display connection and then you can check if the same vertical lines appear on the external display.
If you see the lines on the second monitor, then I guess it could be something wrong with the graphics card or motherboard.

I think that this procedure is the best way to find out what could be the problem, but anyway, I think you should ask a technician for assistance if you want to solve this problem.

PS: Have you tried to reinstall or update the graphics driver? I think you should do it but I don't know if it will help you, but you know Mr. try is free ;)

One of my friends had a similar problem with the vertical lines on other mobile manufacturing, and it was a WLan cable which was responsible for the strange lines on the screen.

  • Qosmio G10 graphics and sound driver installation

    Hello

Recently, I tried to reinstall my Toshiba Qosmio G10 after you download all the latest drivers from the Toshiba site.

Unfortunately I had my motherboard and the screen replaced in the last 3 years (under warranty), which means everything has changed since the original laptop, I bought (now a map graphic, NVIDIA GeForce go 6600, new chip set, etc., as far as I can remember).

Someone at - it a system restore cd or a place I can download the appropriate drivers for this laptop.

I am a sys admin and technical and spent about 5 hours, pulling on my hair, trying to get the drivers video and sound work.

    Hello!
