Satellite L10 - battery not recognized by Vista MS

Hello

I use MS Vista on my Satellite L10 and everything works great except my battery which is not recognized by Vista. There is just an unknown device in my equipment manager. In the section on the homepage Toshiba drivers I couldn't find a driver or other instructions. The MS Hotline told me this isn't their but question Toshibas.

I hope that this forum is someone who can help me solve the problem. I just want to know if my battery has enough power for 20 minutes or 2 hours and I really hate it if my laptop is suddenly out of power.

Thanks in advance.
Christoph

Hello

You have installed Vista on the L10?
Wow I know Satellite L10 is not Vista capable and you should be happy that this OS works without big worries on this Satellite phone.

However, I recommend the Vista update to the last State, to install the compatible chipset from Intel page.

But I assume that the BIOS on this laptop is not fully Vista capable that this question therefore appears on the L10.

  • Satellite U400-119 - battery not recognized

    Hello

I just bought a laptop TOSHIBA Satellite U400-119. The operating system is Windows Vista Home basic.
Before I turned on the laptop, I plugged on the CC adapter and let the batteries reload for 24 hours.

However, after 24 hours, battery LED icon is orange and blinks (which means that the battery is low according to the user manual).
When I tried to turn on the laptop without the adapter DC laptop computer did not respond. So I installed Vista while the laptop was still connected to the DC adapter.

After installation, the Vista battery icon displays a red cross on the battery icon, which means that it is not recognized.
This is a brand new laptop so I think the battery needs to be replaced, but I don't know.

Someone at - it had a similar problem?
    Any sollutions to my problem?

    Thanks in advance!

A display really interesting because one of my friends got the laptop U400 and a similar one issued what s happened too.
Suddenly, the battery did not recognize I thought that it s a malfunction of the battery. But I was wrong.

    The solution is very easy.
You must update the BIOS and this should help get rid you of this strange issue.
My friend did the same thing and it worked!

So check it out. Download the BIOS compatible and right and update!

  • Satellite L10 - could not get the wireless operation

    Hello

I reformatted my Satellite L10 and managed to pull the best of drivers to use, but I can't seem to get the wireless working.

I installed the Realtek driver http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/wlan/?page=downloads

I also tried to install the InProComm driver, but the installer crashes just after a while.

Anyone know what could be the problem? All solutions?

    Hello

What operating system do you use?
I checked Toshiba driver download page and looked for the driver for Satellite L10. Here, I can only find a driver Intel WLAN for Vista and the driver InProComm for XP but I can t find a Realtek WLAN driver.
It seems that your laptop is equipped with an Intel card check so the Toshiba site again:

Before you install the driver WLAN make sure that WIFI is turned on with the hardware switch on the computer laptop and FN + F8.

  • Re: Satellite A205-S5825 - not recognized by firewire DV camcorder

I have a Satellite A205-S5825 and I can't recognize my Canon DV camcorder connected by a firewire cable.

The same camera works perfectly with my desktop PC. My wife also has a Satellite, an A215 and it does not recognize the camcorder either. All 3 computers are running XP SP3.

Can anyone throw any light on this? I really want to use my laptop for video editing, as my office is somewhere else.

    Thanks in advance

What do you mean with the camera is not recognized? You get a notification that a device is connected or you see an unknown device in Device Manager?
Have you installed the software for the camera?

Maybe you can solve the problem with an update of the BIOS. Check this on the Toshiba site:

  • Duplex not recognized under Vista 64-bit printing accessory

I recently had to replace my old computer with an HP Pavilion a6700f running Windows Vista Home Premium 64 - bit SP1.

I got my 7410 HP all-in-One printer connected and operating, the latest software HP installed and checked for updated drivers, firmware or Windows updates to date. Everything is up-to-date.

However, my two-sided printing accessory is not recognized. I tried to do an update of the parameters, but the accessory does not appear in the drop-down menus.

I learned by HP Technical Support that it is a Windows problem, but I can't quite believe that even Microsoft would come out an operating system does not recognize the material of the major manufacturer.

Is that what everyone knows about this problem? Is this really a Windows glitch?  If so, is there a workaround solution that will allow me to do automatic duplex printing?

In the e-mail to Bob, he said save the attachment as % temp%\hpo7x00t.gpd.  I don't know where to put this, and this is perhaps why the patch has not yet worked.

Can someone tell me with certainty where to save the file?

You just need to save the DPG file to a temporary location.  Folder is the location for temporary files of the system, it refers to a directory.  If for some reason it doesn't, you can do the following to the administrative command prompt:

    mkdir c:\temp

    [save the gpd c:\temp\hpo7x00t.gpd]

    then in the copy command:

    copy c:\temp\hpo7x00t.gpd c:

  • Laptop Toshiba DVD RD/CD RW ROM not recognized after Vista installed

My Toshiba laptop which has Windows Vista cannot read my ODD.  A month ago I had the same problem which was worst, could recornize not WEIRD at all.  Now, it recornizes ODD, however, after the execution of this program to fixhttp://support.microsoft.com/gp/cd_dvd_drive_problems, still reads at all.  Please help me!

    Hello

Step 1: Please do all the same underneath if you did some before as is often total
a process that solves the problem.

Try this - Panel - Device Manager - CD/DVD - double click on the device - driver tab.
Click on update drivers (this will probably do nothing) - RIGHT click ON the drive - uninstall.
RESTART this will refresh the default driver stack. Even if the reader does not appear to continue
    below.

Then, work your way through these - don't forget the drive might be bad, could be a coward
cable or slight corrosion on the contacts (usually for a laptop) and other issues.

Another possibility is that the cables are loose. Remove ALL power, then make sure that the cables in both
ends. Remove and replace, do not just tight. For laptops, you can often clean power and
contacts data with a pencil eraser.

Some DVD players do not use the Windows default drivers so check with the manufacturer of system and
manufacturer of device to see if there is a firmware or drivers for your drive if necessary.

    ===============================

Step 2: You have disc problems as the CD/DVD is actually 4 discs in 1 case (CD & DVD
Burn and CD and DVD read). So it is not unusual for 1 or 2 operational so that other parts
    do it right.

Did you follow the Troubleshooting Guide for the reader who still does not work? There are
the entries in registry that the troubleshooter does not solve and those who "might" be the cause.

Check with your Maker system and a device for the two possible firmware updates and
the correct registry entries for your car.

Here are the keys that I of course are those in question - for the subkeys of the CD/DVD drive
as there will be other subkeys in these keys. Do not forget to ask specific keys involved as well as
    the parameters.

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Enum\IDE

  • Satellite 1800 is not recognizing the hard drive of 80G

I recently bought a store and save 2500 80 external to free up hard drive space on my laptop. Deliberately, I bought a disc that was backward compatible with my USB 1.1 (assuming) ports. When I plug it in, the external drive turns on and it beeps constantly but is not recognized by my PC. I tried the drive in a desktop computer and it works fine - so were excluded from the unit malfunctions. I uninstalled the USB drives and re-installed, etc, but no luck.

Any ideas of what I can do?

What form factor is this player 'record and store? It's a 3.5 "or a smaller as 2.5"? And how the HARD drive is powered? With two USB connectors or an external AC adapter?

It would be useful to know some information about everything that solve your problem.

    Welcome them

  • Satellite Pro L10: AC/battery not recognized

    Hello

Currently, when I have my laptop connected to the AC supply cable, the battery symbol in the taskbar at the bottom right of the screen flashes, switching between the battery icon and the network icon. While this is happening if I type some of my keys are not saved and the mouse gets 'juddery '. If I pull the cable tight against where it connects to the laptop, it remains plugged into mains. This happens sporadically and sometimes (rarely) is ok.

Does anyone have any idea why this might happen? I had the laptop for about 2 1/2 years, so, naturally, that the battery died a little. Not sure it's the battery or cable it charges normally when the laptop is over/under voltage off before.

    Thanks for any info!

    > Anyone has any idea why this might happen?
Maybe it s a contact drop between the power adapter and the power outlet

But it's really not easy to tell without touching the laptop.
I think the laptop technicians could check it and would be able to bring an answer what's exactly wrong.

But in my opinion it s a soft seal.

  • Satellite P100 - DVD burner and reader of SD card not recognized by Vista

    Hello everyone,

I have improved my P100 of Xp to Vista and I can't make my DVD burner and my reder of SD (embeded to the laptop of course!) work.

I can read CDs or DVDs, but I can't burn a DVD.
My SD card reader in my device list but not appear in my browser!

Even more, a 'mass storage' appears as not porperly installed but I have no reference on which device refer to the. Not to mention, I tried several times to install the utilities on the site Web of Toshiba sd but it didn't change anything...

What laptop Satellite P100-xxx you have exactly?
The number of extensions and model number would be very useful for further study

Anyway. to get the card SD works in most cases you need to install the Flash Media driver
In addition, it would be very interesting to know what SD card do you use.

    With regard to the Vista DVD burning issue;
How have you tried to burn the DVD? Did you use special software to burn like Nero for example?
Have you used different DVDs from different manufacturers of DVD?

From my experience, it would be possible that the player manages all DVD. You try different DVD from different manufacturers. I had a good experience with TDKs

    Hello

My S1800-921 not recognize battery at all or load it. Any lights in the small LED on the battery. I charged the battery manually and it gives 13.5 Volts is very healthy. In addition, the same battery works beautifully on another laptop more old.

If the battery is OK without a doubt. I opened the laptop and tested it with a multimeter. I found that 13.5 volts are present on the multiple the card connector from the battery to the motherboard. The laptop runs normally with alternating current.

Another strange thing is the following:
If I monitor the status of the battery on the screen and press the hard battery it shows 3% charge on the battery for about 1/4 of a second then replaced by "battery does not exist.

    What is your opinion?
Is it a hardware fault or software?
    Everyone knows something similar?
It is hopeless, or can do something about it?

    Hello

I changed my old hard drive (60 GB) with one of 160 GB, but my laptop does not recognize this size. It gives me only 127 GB. I updated my BIOS and update Windows XP SP3 home edition
I also tried with partition magic. The curious thing is that sometimes, it happens that partition magic sees the 160 GB, I can extend the size of 127 to 160 GB and I can create an additional partition (drive D) of say 40GB.

When I copy data from this partition I get an error and stops just my laptop.
After the restart, he says that he cannot find an operating system.

    Hello

I'm afraid there is not much to do. Entire HARD disk capacity knows correctly or you must accept that the BIOS can't handle with this HARD drive. This model of laptop is almost 4 years and I can imagine that there is a limitation in the BIOS.

Maybe you should be happy with 120 GB of HARD drive. And the 160 GB one, you can use as external HARD drive.

One more thing: have you noticed any functionality problems after installing SP3?
