  Hello. I read the instructions here http://www.salloway.org.uk/mediacenter/2005/index.html#remote, for programming of a Media Center remote control to adjust the Volume of a television. I can't the procedure to work with Toshiba Media Center Remote black :(

  I have a USB DVB - T Tuner connected to a Qosmio G20 connected to an XBox 360 connected to the LCD TV. The Toshiba remote has no problem of control of the XBox 360 (as Media Center Extender). But I need to juggle the two remotes... the TV for the Volume remote control and remote control Toshiba for everything else.

  Is it possible to program the Toshiba remote?

  Have you tried to connect the remote control or 'learn' to another TV? Maybe you should try it because it may be that the LCD is just incompatible or else.

• Can I connect VHS Video Recorder for Qosmio G20 using the antenna in the Port?

  I connect my G20 a very old VCR. Can I connect it to the antenna in the port? Someone at - it tried? Because it will not need to buy a cable SCART. And for what I searched by linking to the video in Port, if I want to record the signal, I have WinDVD record I did more.
  So I was wondering if connect the VCR to the antenna port. I'll be able to find and record the VHS signal on media center?

  Of course you can do it. On this Qosmio laptop TV tuner works on the same principle as usual TV. You can watch movies on Qosmioplayer or using Media Center Edition VHS. In both cases start movie VHS and let Qosmioplayer or MCE sweep all TV channels. On one of them, you will see the picture of VHS VCR.

  All that s. I tested it with Qosmioplayer and MCE too. It works without any problem. I also tested recording option. This also works. Later, I edited material recorded and created DVDs.

  With short words: with Qosmio G20, you can do whatever you want. It's really good multimedia laptop.

  Does anyone know which cable or connector, I need to connect my Qosmio g20-139 to a 5.1 system speakers?

  I searched the forum and it seems that someone has used a "optical cable Toslink" - check link below:

  I have a Qosmio G20-PQG21. The receiver is 60 metres from the position of the laptop. In this case, the channel is not editable. The problem that this person wants to change channels. The problem is quite simple... can I connect the coaxial cable from the dish directly to tv tunner and setup guide? or do you have another solution for my situation?

  In my opinion it of not possible connect the cable satellite directly the Qosmio.
  You are also unable to connect the TV directly with the satellite dish. It of the same case on the laptop. You need a receiver sat between the laptop and the flat sat.

  There are two possibilities:
  1.), you buy a longer cable from the satellite dish to the receiver and place the receiver closer to the laptop.
  2.), you place the laptop more near the sat receiver ;)

• Connection to (Qosmio G20) Surround sound

  I'm trying to connect my Qosmio G20 to my sysytem via an amp external surround sound.

  As far as I know I have everything connected correctly, but I'm only obtaining from my front left speakers and rear no where elsewhere.

  I checked the speakers and all the settings I can think on the laptop, is there something that I don't have to send the signal to all the speakers?

  I think bosting my wireless, purchase of an antenna signal. Found on ebay and they connect through d-link.

  This antenna cannot be connected to the laptop or another computer. The external WiFi antenna must be connected to the router or access point Wlan!

  The description says:
  + Plug straight into your D - link DWL520, Linksys WMP11, WET11, Netgear MA311, or D-link APs +.

  By the way; the portable series don t provide any special port to connect these antennas!

  You can connect you laptop to TV with a D-video cable.

  I try to connect a video recorder/player for my Qosmio G20-108 and have had no luck so far.
  Tried the red-yellow-white cables that came with the laptop, can get sound via the laptop, but no image.

  Then tried the input cable tv/satellite of the RGB output on the video via Media Center but can't get the laptop to tune into the video signal - just says there is no signal detected even when the video player is on and play a tape.

  Any ideas anyone?

  Qosmio G20 supports a port of 4pol TV In great video (S-video) and a TV S-video output port!
  Don't mix these two ports!

  He must connect the VCR to the * TV * S-video port!

  Then I remove my main hard drive and put it in another laptop and install the XP, its work in this laptop, but unfortunately when I put the new HARD drive the Qosmio his departure gives the XP logo but in 5-10 sec its judgment and give a blue screen message then then restart automatically...

  Connect the USB flash memory key to the laptop, now switch on and press F12.
  The start menu should appear where you could see all the possible boot devices.

  Do you see the USB boot option in the start menu?
  If this isn't the case, then you will not be able to boot from USB flash memory.

  I guess that this is because the RAID drivers was not included!
  Qosmio G20 supports the RAID controller and you add the RAID driver (located on the Toshiba UE driver page) in order to recognize the HARD drive.
  But I put t know if you could do so using another computer I guess that's not possible.

  Maybe you can try to disable RAID in BIOS

  In recent weeks, I am a happy owner of Qosmio G20. The camera is awesome and I have a lot of fun with it. Now I have the ability to create DVD movies because I Dona ¢ A? Â? t want to plug my cam on television every time if I want to watch the material recorded from my last vacation.

  I can connect my cam on the case without problems and can be recognized correctly. The video material is copied on the HARD drive, but when the DVD is created the image quality is very bad (LCD TV). I tried with a few different applications (WinDVD creator, Adobe premiere and Nero Vision Express), but always with the same result.

  I'll be very grateful if any of you have experience with the creations of DVD and try to explain to me what can do to make it better.

  Could have different reasons:

  -Kompression
  try to set the MPEG compression at a higher quality (means: larger file size-> better.)

  -Cables used:

  Try to use RGB (SCART, YUV) or cable (aka Hosiden) SVHS instead of Chinch-video (aka FBAS).
  Also try to use good quality cables (not only those in the category - 5) here.

  -Monitor the device (used TV)
  Try to see the videos on a common TUBE TV (CRT) (not LCD or Plasma, not even on the tube cathode-pc screens)
  On the LCD or PLASMA TV screen you will be self a greater amount of compression artifacts.

  Please tell me if this solves the problem.

• Qosmio G20: How do you get TV to work?

  Hi, I recently bought a laptop Toshiba Qosmio G20.

  I want to watch a Divx on my TV using the laptop as the player. But, I can't get anything to display on my TV, my TV remains empty.

  I tried pressing on now the keys Fn and F5 and this doen't seem to do anything. I opened the Nvidia graphics window and expand on my secondary display and I also tried to have a vision of "clone" of the laptop computer on my TV screen by clicking on the Advanced button. Nothing seems to work.

  Could someone help me please? I think that I am using a DVI cable (this is the cable where you can hang on the back of the laptop). In addition, if no one can give me more information so can someone give me the phone number of the technical support for Britain?

  Qosmio G20 supports the S-video port or video-D. You can connect to the TV with these ports.
  To view the video on the TV, be sure to set up the other parameters that you can see that nothing is displayed.
  Don't forget to use the FN + F5 shortcut to select the display device before you start playing the video. Don t change the display device all in video game.
  If the TV is connected to the computer, set the TV type in display properties.
  Click the setting tab, and then click the Advanced button. Click the Geforce tab, click current view and select TV. Click device settings and select TV format that your TV supports.
  When the TV is connected using D-video cable and the 1123i or 750 p is selected then kept copy of DVD video cannot be played correctly.
