• Pools of question in LMS

  Hello

  I am using Captivate 5 to create quizzes that I am uploading (?) of my LMS. I want students to access quizzes, thought of CMS, and to be able to have 4 tent then pass an exam. With each attempt, I want that they have selected, different questions from different pools of question. Could someone help me with this? How would I do this on the Captivate? How it will work once it is accessible through the LMS?

  If you want the best chance to show your users to different questions each time than do the quiz, you must define the allowed number of attempts to quiz in Captivate 1 attempt lesson and allow the LMS to control the number of times that the lesson can be launched to make the quiz.  In your case, that you want it to be 4 times, so put the LMS to allow only 4 attempts in the lesson.

  The reason why you need to do this way is due to how the randomization of question pool.  It occurs when the module is started, which means that questions selected from the pool of matter will be set for the rest of this session.  So if you allow several attempts to quiz in Captivate lesson and provide a button Retake Quiz, the user will always see the same question than the first game, they took the lesson at this session.  However, when the user raises all of the module again, then the randomization comes into play again.

  I don't know exactly what the randomization algorithm is that use question pools, but Cp modules don't persist data from a session to another.  If the module is not held a record anywhere of the questiions that he showed the last time. It is essentially a randomization fees whenever you launch the module. In other words, there is always a possibility that your user will see some of the same questions on the next launch.   To make this less likely, you must have a larger pool of questions to learn. In your case, if you have 10 questions, and you want 4 attempts with a reasonable chance to see different questions, I would advise you on 40-50 questions in the pool.

  I work on Captivate 5 and upload to the LMS. It works very well. It ensures user success/failure monitoring.

  But I would like to follow the outcome of each question. For example, a test has 5 questions, and there are 10 users who pass by.

  Is it possible to track user how to choose answer 1 question 1 or user how answer question 1 2 and so on. Is it possible that granular? Thank you.

• Inability of failure quiz after leave and return

  I recently met a problem when developing a Captivate course for delivery to the LMS using Captivate 5.5.

  The course is set up with:

  -A combination of test and a Final Quiz

  -Quiz pools are used throughout the

  -Quiz slides are implemented as quiz random

  When to take the final quiz (final examination), if the user clicks on the table of contents, then return the quiz, they are locked on the possibility to click on one of the buttons.

  Even if they leave the course, and then return, they cannot access the quiz.

  This isn't a question of LMS. This problem is known even at the publication in HTML format directly.

  Any advice is welcome.

  If I were you I would be first to test my proposed solution that gets the user click on a button marked the kickoff of the lesson.

  So if you still have the problem, try to move questions of the quiz on the pool and test again.

  Also check your Quiz > required parameters.  Try the optional parameter for greater flexibility.  I find that some of the strictest parameters required here can cause problems.

• Captivate 9 - LMS completion questions and quiz preferences

  Having a nightmare.  I have developed a unique course with simulations.  However I must quiz slides or knowledge check.

  I tried to publish on a settings of SCORM 1.2 LMS System.  Performance criteria I want is a percentage of slide views (70%).

  The course publishes and runs smoothly in our workplace LMS - however - after which crosses the whole of the project and our closing system fails to enroll in courses such as "completed". We get the NE NOT EVALUATED values instead.

  I tried to adjust the performance criteria, even for the "USER ACCESS" minimum but still no joy.

  Does anyone else have this problem?

  If there is no quiz in the project I just usually put the Quiz > settings for:

  Representation of State = incomplete - pass/fail

  Success/completion criteria = slide views (and game display the percentage to something that is guaranteed to the user)

  Leave quiz went unselected (since there is no quiz.

  Data to report = percentage (which is actually a bit meaningless if there is no quiz)

  In SCORM cloud I always get the achievement and success of this way.

• Quiz Questions - Print, not LMS or email

  I wonder if anyone can help. I'm quite a novice when it comes to computers, but I implemented a presentation from induction of an old PowerPoint presentation, added a quiz at the end to check the inductees understanding of the content.
  
  I don't have an LMS system or something fancy so I want just inducted to enter their names at the beginning of the presentation and have it appear on the quiz summary and then be able to automatically print with a button - is it possible to do without special coding and if so how can it be done?

  The Quiz summary slide is pretty much "what you see is what you get", although you can use a widget/o to capture the user name.

  Sorry to say, but nobody here is going to write your code for you. You have to have a go at it and then you can ask questions when / if you get stuck.

• Non-existing connections in Cisco first LMS 4.2.4

  Hello

  We had strange connections in LMS 4.2.4 and earlier versions, even back at LMS 3.2.1. Even if I delete connections, they reappear as if the connection were present.

  

  

  Sometimes, it is related to a change of interface of 1 G to 10G and in some cases, any other device... .but not always.

  It hurts my eyes, I look at this, so I hope that some of you know the reason, or better yet, the solution.

  Seems to be corrupted the database for ANI.   what I would say is to reset the database to ANI.

  Note: ANI database contains no historical data, reintilalizing so there won't be a problem.

  the steps are:

  1. stop the daemon manager

  2.

  windows:NMSROOT\bin\perl.exe NMSROOT\bin\dbRestoreOrig.pl dsn=ani dmprefix=ANI
  solaris\linux:
  /opt/CSCOpx/bin/dbRestoreOrig.pl dsn=ani dmprefix=ANI
  3 start the daemon manager to wait for 10-15 min, and then start a new DATACOLLECTIOn followed Acquistion of user tracking.

  I'm sure that you can pretty much add a DFM. On Solaris, for example, simply re - run "setup.sh", and then choose the following at the prompt:

  (2) custom installation. For advanced users.
  Select the components to install.
  Enter Admin, comments, identity account of the system, the passwords for the database for the new facility.
  Keep for upgrade and relocation.

  Then choose the appropriate option for: DFM (# 9 below) when you are prompted, add it to your existing installation of LMS:

  (1) Common Services 3.3
  (2) portal 1.2 LMS
  (3) CiscoWorks Assistant 1.2
  (4) CiscoView 6.1.9
  (5) integration utility 1.9
  (6) resource Manager Essentials 4.3
  (7) the Director of the campus 5.2
  (8) the Fault Manager HPOV-Netview 3.2 device adapters

  I have a rpoblem with a specific client with LMS 3.2. We use the LMS 3.2 on Windows 2008 and everything seems to work OK. The issue is in the CiscoView with 4500 switches. CiscoView can see supervisors on all 4500 switches (6); but can not see the switchcards when the switchcards are WS - X 4648-RJ45-E. Find the exit sh inv below:

  But I got a little problem.

  The design of WS - X 4624-SFP-E and WS-4648-RJ45-E appears with white vertical lines and my client is not like that.

  HI, I want to know if the 3850 switch is supported in ciscoworks LMS 4.0.1 I added devices, successful inventory collections but peripheral icon is blue with question mark '? ' and config sync always fails.

  I tried to download the packages to install it, but I couldn't find it.

  3850 is supported on LMS 4.2.3. Check the list supported here:

• 4.2 LMS on the VM problem

  Dear all,

  I just finished the installation of the LMS (installation costs) on VM ESXi 5.1 4.2. I followed the installation guide and installation processes are finished perfectly. I can not even enter the homepage (for type of connection credentials) and just accept the certificate, then a page has been displayed by the following,

  Forbidden

  You don't have permission to access / on this server.

  Additionally, a 403 Forbidden error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument directive to manage demand.

  Y at - it an idea that I can get in? Were you ever encounter similar problems and are there solutions? I'm stuck at this point and extremely frustrated because I almost did while following the recommendations of Cisco.

• Question of discovery for the DFM "stuck in Questioned state devices" device

  We have LMS 3.0.1 installed with DFM 3.0.4 devices display Questioned with error code "SNMP timeout" without any specific reason. The snmpwalk is coming to the unit I checked with the snmpwalk command. The only device discovered as "known" has authorized ICMP from the server to the device and any other device. They don't have that SNMP permit. This reach the dicovery? or what else can I try... Please think!

  Yes. DFM requires that all SNMP and ICMP accessible devices. DFM uses the ICMP protocol to check accessibility to all IP addresses on the device. However, at the very least, the address by which you manage the device MUST be accessible ICMP.
