• Satellite R830: Question about power for battery usage options

  Hi Felicity,

  I make a few assumptions, but you can go into advanced settings and turn off some other things like putting to sleep HARD drive. From there on, make sure that both your battery and plugged on options are set correctly.

  Thank you dewbert I've found that if I go to the command prompt by using 'powercfg' I was able to turn off all the power settings (I like mine to be always running until I want to turn off without exception) I disabled standby, hibernation and set to never turn off monitor and several other parameters.   I agree with the user above. You should try a BIOS update you can find the Toshiba site. Before applying it, close all programs running also your antivirus and firewall and make sure that you are logged on as administrator.
