R & R disk USB startup on UEFI

I tried to install Windows 7 ultimate mode UEFI on my T420s. It seems OK and Lenovo tools such as the power, footprint Manager digital works fine, only problem I have with rescue & Recovery tool. I use the external USB drive for backups, where R & R creates a bootable partition and stores where my backups, so that I can boot directly from this external USB problems. I tried to make a backup on USB external with a GPT partition, but R & R fails. Y at - it some problem of beta for this tool with UEFI support or a workaround? Thank you.

New R & R 4.5 was released, with UEFI support.

    Hello

Power off with the active UEFI USB device inserted into the PC. Now, turn on the PC and press ESC then press F9. The USB device should now be indicated by EFI.

Most active UEFI PCs I've used require UEFI enabled devices to be connected to the current time in order to be recognized.

  • ESXi 5 USB startup key

I managed to create a boot ESXi 5 USB device but it does not start on the test PC I am using. I also installed ESXi 5 on the internal drive of the computer to test if it was compatible and OS boots fine from that. But I really want to test the functionality of USB startup. If you set the BIOS to boot from USB first.

If I boot my laptop on the same ESXi USB device it works fine.

    Any ideas?

    Try on another USB key if you have one. I had the same problem in this thread;

  • Error reading from disk on startup, but no problem when I remove my external hard drive from Seagate. Solution?

At startup, windows does not load and, I don't see a black screen says Disk Read Error press Ctrl Alt Del to restart. Upon restart, the same problem occurs. I managed to work around this problem by unplugging all my external hard drives USB, but this problem has never happened before.

Recently, I laid out my laptop due to a faulty internal hard drive. Windows has been reformatted and a new internal hard drive has been installed. Since then, the above mentioned error occurred and I'm not too sure if those problems are linked, but my Seagate hard drive works fine until I fix it after windows has marketing. Yet once, it never happened before that my laptop has been repaired.

    Appreciate your help.

    Hello

to power on you will see a way to get into the program installation/bios or boot menu command at the bottom of the screen

It would be F2 or delete etc to get into the setup of the bios or F12 forBoot order

go into the Bios and see if the USB boot is enabled a see also if it 1st in the boot order

If this is to change the boot order or disable USB boot depending on your Bios options

  • We found no boot disk or startup disk has failed?

OK, so yesterday my wireless mouse is broken, I restart my computer to get it to work again. When I did, it has not fixed my problem, so I went online to see some solutions. When I went on a secure site, I got an alert on my computer and something about 2 programs being completed. It seemed was going to turn off the computer, and in a panic, I turn it off. When I turned it back on, it went straight to the verification of the startup disk. And it gives me the message: no boot disk was detected or the startup disk has failed. I got it a couple of times before and all I ha do turn off two or three times, and he'd turn out normally. It won't work, and I tried several ways to remedy. I clicked on F2 and F8 a F11, but nothing works, and I do not have a cd with media recovery settings. Any help would be appreciated.

When you request support, please provide the number of name and/or product of comprehensive model of the HP computer in question. HP/Compaq made thousands of computer models which are all different. Without this information, it can be difficult, even impossible to help you solve your problem.

Turn on your computer and immediately start typing the appropriate key 'F' to run the hardware diagnostics or system on your computer. Then, run the hard drive test and report the results. If the hard drive has failed or is about to fail, you may need to replace the hard drive. If the hard drive is reported as 'OK', the boot sector, or the hard drive was damaged and the operating system must be repaired or reinstalled.

You may need to use your HP recovery disks to solve each problem above. If you create your personal series of HP, as suggested by HP recovery disks when you configure your computer... you will need to order a series.

  • Zbook 14: [OS Recovery, damaged SSD, Zbook 14] create a USB startup of backup discs.

    Hello everyone.

I have a problem with my Zbook 14. Unfortunately, the built-in SSD has failed, and it seems that all data, including the recovery partitions, have now disappeared.

I already ordered the backup disks and HP will send them to me in a few days.

I would like to know what I can do with this discs to create a USB bootable since 14 Zbook does not come with any DVD player.

Please let me know. Thank you!

I solved the problem by using free software 2:

    (1) I created an ISO of the DVD with DaemonTools Lite image;

    (2) that I created a bootable USB using rufus.

Would be really nice if HP could send USB keys instead of the DVD, of course in charge anything for the service.

  • 2000 - 2B10NR: hard disk at startup error...

They gave me this computer from a friend to keep and fix (out of warranty) and I turned on, I get the message

    Hard drive error
Run the hard drive Test in the diagnostic system.
    Hard disk # (XXX)

I searched your forums and thought it is better to buy recovery disks. Yes, I did.

They came and I installed everything and became happy and then at the end (2 hours), the Recovery Manager said he failed and gave a system error log. I recorded it on my usb key. Then tried again. No luck...

I did a test lying on the hard drive and the first time he says failure of long DST: 6BS883 - 6 B 7806-MFGK1F-61? ED03

So I need to know if it's a simple hard drive failure.

Everything came out OK in tests.

I found that a replacement HARD drive on ebay for $ 30 and it's an easy replacement procedure.

I just need a confirmation of this is the failure of HARD drive before you buy

What HARD drive I see for my model:

320GB SATA drive hard - 5 400 rpm, 2.5-inch small form factor (SFF)

Is this correct? There is no model custum. Bought at the store with equipment and factory settings.

    Thank you

Yes, DST Fail means that the hard drive is bad. The 320GB hard drive matches what you have now.

  • My WD external HARD disk usb device does not appear in the computer on XP and Win7, but appears in the system tray?

I have 2 GB external usb external hard drive that appears in the XP and Win7 system tray, but not in my computer/workstation?

When I go to the management of computer disk/storage/management - is not there in XP but it is for Win7.

How to work various PC and diferent OS?

If you view the contents of the external drive, I think that the first folder contains a USB driver that you need to install to run properly, if you cannot view the contents of drive I'm sure you can download the driver for Western Digital. I think that the work of readers well on Windows 7 installs with 3 USB ports, but drivers are needed for USB 2.

  • Range of computers HP Pavilion 500: cannot make a recovery disk usb on my new hp desktop computer

HI, I bought a Hp desktop computer yesterday in a store in Alberta.  Yesterday after I bought the computer told me the person in the store to do a recovery with a 32 GB USB disk.  So today, I tried several times to go to the app to create recovery disk provided with this hp desktop computer.  When the application starts it says please wait while a blue bar across a white bar.  So the next thing coming back, he says put your USB drive in and the box has a check in there to copy the recovery partition and it also says to ensure that your USB has 16 GB of storage to the partion.  Then under this window, the next wiich button is greyed or I can not click on this button.   The Cancel button witch. I can click.

What I would like to now that's what I can do to fix this and make me a recovery drive because nobody gave me a recovery cd to go wth this computer.

Thanks for your help is always appreciated.

Equip the USB key before you run the utility to create recovery media and try again.

If the USB is not recognized as a removable disk, then it won't work. The fact that the next button is gray tells me that it is likely that you need to try a diferent of the flash player brand.

There are a number of brands known not to work with the utility. Unfortunately, the most common Sandisk brand, is one of them.   Transcend flash brand work readers

  • E4200 Disk USB and Setup "Access."

Hello - I got my NTFS drive to work with the E4200 router via its USB port.

One question - I don't see a 'Access' option to configure based on users different access types.  I have the users configured in the Administration tab; Here's what came preconfigured on the router.

    What Miss me?

    Thank you!

Rather than going through all this, I did some research further and discovered that the ' anonymous access to disk: "under the storage-> Administration tab was set to"Enabled".  I changed it is disabled and now I see the access under the storage-> disk tab setting when I edit my leave.

Thank you and I will mark this as resolved point.

  • How can I remove the USB startup file?

    Hi guys,.

I had a USB bootable for BIOS update. Now the default USB format is FAT32 and when I restart my laptop with the USB pluged, I error boot manager missing I. I want to delete these files permanantly USB!
I used DISKPART and Bootable USB software to make my Bootable USB.
Comments or suggestions will be appreciated, thanks

You can use DISKPART again, I think.

    C:\ > diskpart
    DISKPART > list disk
(A list of your series of disks)
DISKPART > select disk (whatever number is the USB stick)
    (Disk nn is now selected)
    DISKPART > clean
    DISKPART > create partition primary
    DISKPART > exit
    C:\ >

Now you can format the drive and (if you want) assign a drive letter.

  • Fusion Pro 8 still requires the administrator password to log raw physical disks at startup

I'm 10.11.3 El Capitan server running in an instance of VM Fusion 8 running on a 10.11.3 host El Capitan.

For performance reasons, I connect Raw / partitions of physical disk using the links generated with the vmware-rawdiskCreator command line tool and added to the .vmx file.

My question is, since it is a server, I want it to load VMWare Fusion and start the virtual machine automatically at startup, but each time the virtual machine is started, a message appears stating "VMware Fusion requires administrator privileges to access Boot Camp disks.  Type your password for this purpose".

Some research that it used to be far to say merge to "never ask" passwords, but this feature doesn't seem to be an option of Fusion Pro 8.

Is there a work around to bypass the manual password entry requirement?

OK, I found an answer to my own question...

Although it doesn't seem to be an option to disable the prompt of the graphical interface of Fusion Pro 8, there IS one on the command line.

First, find the UID of the user account that you launch VMware Fusion with the help of.

    ID

(Often this will be 501 as the UID of the first user created on any mac).

    Then run...

    / Applications/VMware\ Fusion.app/Contents/Library/vmware-rawdiskAuthTool neverAsk

For more info general run and switches...

    / Applications/VMware\ Fusion.app/Contents/Library/vmware-rawdiskAuthTool--help

    Voila!
